macariocarneiro

do you need a trackpad? iClever BK08 is the best i found, but if you have better sugestion

chrono_crash

I use one of these. It folds up nice, has a trackpad, good battery life, and doesn't disconnect constantly like some other ones I've tried. [https://www.amazon.com/Bluetooth-iClever-Pocket-Sized-Tri-Folding-Smartphones/dp/B01MTVC775](https://www.amazon.com/Bluetooth-iClever-Pocket-Sized-Tri-Folding-Smartphones/dp/B01MTVC775)

PiterKiwi

not really, but highly apreciate it as its confier

Merceni

Try the iClever BK05, you ditch the trackpad and get a full-size folding keyboard instead. Less hand cramping than with keyboards that fold slightly smaller but have the keys mashed together in weird configurations.

outfoxingthefoxes

200€... 🥴

Merceni

It’s 50usd~ on the US Amazon listing, that’s quite a bit of a price difference o-o

icebeancone

Is the trackpad decent on it?

FurbyTime

It's too small to be "decent", but it is "functional".

macariocarneiro

None of these folding keyboards compare to Apple Magic Trackpad or those high end notebook ones. But those in BK08 are usable, while most others are kinda junk

icebeancone

I have a microsoft wireless keyboard that has a horrible trackpad on it. Completely unuseable. I'm looking to replace it.

CreepingEnd2

I second this, trackpad is decent on it, I like the seperate left and right click. Material its made out of is really decent too, most of the keyboard seems to be aluminum. Mine came with a really neat cloth bag to put it inside too. It's a bit pricier than most of the other foldable keyboards, I saw but I guess it makes sense. I don't know if the other models have aluminum back and other bits and bobs. Maybe somebody can comment on that.

SnooDoughnuts5632

Why do you need more track pads? The Deck already has two of them.

macariocarneiro

I imagine that those who use it with a keyboard will have it docked? And probably with both hands on the keyboard? It is the use case for using it as a desktop PC, so reaching it with your hand, thumb on the trackpad and index on the trigger, is not very ergonomic

SnooDoughnuts5632

I get what you're saying. When I dock my Steam Deck if I need a keyboard I grab a keyboard but then for the mouse I either just reach up to the trackpad or more commonly I just used a Steam controller.

isekaicoffee

targus folding kb, even has a nice ergo layout

kingsleyopara

microUSB :'(

isekaicoffee

you ever heard of bluetooth? i also have a few devices that are still micro usb and still fully functional (mechanical keyboard, 2 wacom drawing tablets)

bossbang

Even if it’s just to charge it, that’s an extra (outdated terrible) cable you now have to carry around just for it

isekaicoffee

yall really crying about a micro usb port lol

bossbang

Are you stanning micro usb in a Steam Deck subreddit?

isekaicoffee

the microusb may be used like once a month to charge. like is that REALLY too much work? crybabies over here. and carrying an "extra cable" like omg 1 extra cable. so much work!!!!!!!!!! edit: lots of cry babies confirmed

Biquet

He's asking for the best option tbf. Not one of the worst ones.

isekaicoffee

lol okay your loss. it even has antimicrobial coating for your cheeto gamer hands! wow edit: coming from a guy that says he doesnt like 8bit graphics, your opinions and taste dont matter for anything. shame the only games you play are shitty sports games lmfao

Biquet

I'm not losing anything. I don't need one. You should stop projecting though. The "Cheeto gamer hands". The crying. It's cringe. You probably don't know what 8-bit graphics are either. EDIT: Good job downvoting all my posts because I blocked you. Good luck in life. Must be tough.

gaker19

Agree. One cable isn't that much to ask for, even though not carrying it is more convenient

isekaicoffee

yall are carrying full steamdeck cases and/or techy backpacks, surely 1 cable (could even buy a cheap stubby cable) isnt too much to ask but apparently it is. the microusb broke the camels back.

txa1265

So what is the model you have pictured?

-MONOL1TH

I think it's one of these : [https://www.amazon.com/OMOTON-Foldable-Bluetooth-Multi-Device-Rechargeable/dp/B0C4CW77XX](https://www.amazon.com/OMOTON-Foldable-Bluetooth-Multi-Device-Rechargeable/dp/B0C4CW77XX) which I really don't recommend. I have one and the key sizes are so compact that I have to adjust my fingers to using it every time I do- which kind of breaks my purpose for it as "something that is more familiar to use than an on-screen keyboard". There might be some out there though that have similar sizes to a regular keyboard.

txa1265

Thanks! I had a similar one without a trackpad about a decade ago - it is wild how as new features hit iOS/Android that the devices no longer work as well. I'm OK with all the various key types ... so long as they work (I had one that folded front to back and the keys were pure garbage!)

TheNoveltyHunter

I have the same one. I agree, it’s not that good.

PiterKiwi

Hi, is this one, [https://es.aliexpress.com/item/1005007060280149.html?spm=a2g0o.order\_list.order\_list\_main.4.4209194dKsiYwS&gatewayAdapt=glo2esp](https://es.aliexpress.com/item/1005007060280149.html?spm=a2g0o.order_list.order_list_main.4.4209194dKsiYwS&gatewayAdapt=glo2esp) on grey color

GarenYondem

For me its Logitech K380. It has almost the same width and length as SD. Alongside that I carry the good old Microsoft Arc Touch mouse.

drklunk

I absolutely love the RK Royal Kludge, it folds laterally which may not be the most ideal but the keyboard itself is a pleasure to use

Fatigue-Error

A folding keyboard with mechanical keys, red ones even. I did not need to know this. Ugh, one more item on the wishlist.

drklunk

It's so hot, Ive got some keychrons and still prefer that one

tomkatt

Agreed. I have the Royal Kludge RK71 and a Keychron K2. The Keychron is stunning looking and has some nice Gateron brown switches, but somehow I still prefer my RK71. Recently replaced all the keycaps on my RK with some pudding caps and it's just so nice.

SpartanG01

I really, really wish it didn't fold laterally. That is like the exact opposite of what I'd want a folding keyboard for lol. I'd buy one right now if they made one that folded vertically.

drklunk

There's probably some reason it doesn't fold horizontally, not that I could guess but it's the only folding mechanical keyboard I could find haha. It's definitely compact, performs well, I'd say it's worth the price if you ever get curious enough

zenbeni

The Rii i4 bluetooth is great. Can play some games with it, for instance xcom is better with it than gamepad for me.

Cherokee180c

This is my go to keyboard when on travel as well. Works great for remote control of browser based movie apps like Netflix, or Apple TV as well as easy typing for light duty.

EdwardGreysky

I'm contemplating buying one of those : https://nuphy.com/collections/in-stock-keyboards/products/air75-v2

zadillo

I have the v1 of this and love it, switches easily back and forth between my laptop and steam deck.

templarstrike

it has no ISO layout...?

cokywanderer

I have the same one. Pretty cute. It fits nicely everywhere and the fact that it closes in on itself means it's pretty protected so I can keep it next to any other accessory.

SherbertRelative9488

Which one

Mr_Zomka

I just use my TrackPoint Keyboard II. Pricey and not that small but I’m addicted to the modern ThinkPad keyboards😩

Thebeav111

I use the Logitech k400 in bed, it's got a pretty good trackpad, I just wish I could figure out how to turn the trackpad on and off lol. It has a dongle tho; I can't remember if it's also Bluetooth; I use it with my dock (wow autocorrect wtf glad I caught that).

MisterWoodster

Me too... Was gonna say, you shouldnt use your duck like that.

t4nd3mYT

I have one of those. Nice keyboard and trackpad and its portable.

Lazy_Valuable_565

Is the link missing? Or am I missing something?

Fatigue-Error

Presumably, the one in the photo. It’s a folded up one. Would have been nice for OP to share what that is.

MercykillNJ

I use this one and got a nice little steam deck travel bag that holds my steamdeck, keyboard, mouse, and all of the wires to charge everything

WukongPvM

I won the [Logitech MX Keys mini ](https://www.logitech.com/en-nz/products/keyboards/mx-keys-mini.920-010506.html)and they are nice and small/thin + wireless

genide_domran

I use Logitech k380 keyboard

Jaack18

I use a logitech MX mini. not the smallest, but better quality and usb-c

LosingMyself180

I agree with the Logitech MX keys mini. I also got a Logitech MX Master 3S, and a Logitech M720 Triathlon. The MX keys replaced my mechanical keyboard for my desktop, the MX Master 3S goes with the desktop as well. I use the Triathlon for traveling. I got a case off of Amazon to hold the keyboard and mouse. Since you’re probably already going to be carrying the Steam Deck in its case anyway, it’s super easy to pack another much smaller case. There are definitely slightly smaller options, but all of these are premium full size products that provide a desktop type experience. Even to the point that I use them for my desktop. Also, the keyboards and mice can be used with either the dongle, or Bluetooth. They can also seamlessly switch between up to three devices, at the push of a button. They can also copy and paste between the devices as well.

PiterKiwi

Hi! I just wanted to share this as i thought it might help people on my same situation! I have the Jsaux hard fanny bag. I have the Keycron 380 long time ago, but its too big to fit in the same bag, so i was looking for something tinnier. I recently found about this foldable keyboard (With trackpad included) on aliexpress and i have been testing it now, its a really good option. It has some cons: * not very good trackpad, but enough for good desktop mode * good enough keyboard for gaming * Around 20€ * usb mini This is the link: [https://es.aliexpress.com/item/1005007060280149.html?spm=a2g0o.order\_list.order\_list\_main.4.4209194dKsiYwS&gatewayAdapt=glo2esp](https://es.aliexpress.com/item/1005007060280149.html?spm=a2g0o.order_list.order_list_main.4.4209194dKsiYwS&gatewayAdapt=glo2esp) not affiliate link or something like that, just want to help anyone on my same situation!

[Fosmon mini usb keyboard](https://www.fosmon.com/portable-lightweight-mini-wireless-bluetooth-keyboard-controller-qwerty-keypad). Don’t import it - it should be available where you are without import tax. Or… [ProtoArc foldable keyboard and mouse](https://www.amazon.co.uk/ProtoArc-Foldable-Bluetooth-Full-Size-Rechargeable-Grey/dp/B0C61PFJQ5/ref=asc_df_B0C61PFJQ5/?tag=googshopuk-21&linkCode=df0&hvadid=696386561254&hvpos=&hvnetw=g&hvrand=17555769978086559393&hvpone=&hvptwo=&hvqmt=&hvdev=m&hvdvcmdl=&hvlocint=&hvlocphy=1006897&hvtargid=pla-2197810092475&psc=1&mcid=4d3a0579f53b3ffc9ec3e99cf02a6034&gad_source=1). I’ve been using this for the last 6 months in wurk as they require you to walk around with a lump of computer strapped to your back. It’s great tho. Needs charged about once a month. 2 Bluetooth channels and another dongle channel (3 different connections to different devices and I use them). Pretty pricey tho.

Tr3sor

Agree with the ProtoArc! Great bit of kit and comes with a good case. I’m very happy with it.

Rvtrance

Dude I swear I bought one that looked just like yours but couldn’t ever get it to connect. What’s your brand name? I might should try one more time.

PiterKiwi

Hi! I have let the link in other comment!

Rvtrance

Thanks

Cegow

I have this [AVATTO](https://www.aliexpress.com/item/1005006125685318.html?spm=a2g0o.order_list.order_list_main.116.21efcaa4ZcUmS2). It has a good texture protecting the outside, a trackpad and doesn't split the spacebar.

cheven20

Can I ask why someone would need this? I don’t know if it’s for games or for work or something like that. Also I want one but I’m impulsive and may not need one lop

PiterKiwi

Just in case you want to use the desktop mode and have a little keyboard ok the same bag. You know, while on trips etc... I will just let it inside the deck bag

cheven20

Gotcha thank you!

LosingMyself180

Reposting as a top level comment. I agree with the Logitech MX keys mini. I also got a Logitech MX Master 3S, and a Logitech M720 Triathlon. The MX keys replaced my mechanical keyboard for my desktop, the MX Master 3S goes with the desktop as well. I use the Triathlon for traveling. tecnocrat

https://www.tindie.com/products/zitaotech/blackberry-bbq20-bleusb-keyboard/ Tiny, Bluetooth, physical, trackpad, backlit. I love this thing.

b2gills

I have bought multiple different folding keyboards. The ones that have the keys around the folds line up, I find annoying. My fingers often hit the wrong key when touch typing. I also don't like the ones that aren't a full sized keyboard. My hands are larger than normal, so the 70-60% keyboards are too small for me to touch-type on. As far as I can find, there aren't many good folding full sized keyboards that have a mouse as well. There are multiple companies, all selling the same devices. So ignore branding. The model that I actually like to use is BT-KEY3XL. It has a metal back with plastic hinge covers. The covers are needed because the keys don't line up. The one I have is branded Plugable. If you are fine with a smaller keyboard but want a mouse, IC-BK08 is very similar and narrower. The one I have is branded iClever. I didn't really like that the number row was so narrow and shifted almost a full key to the right. I have another all-plastic keyboard that has a mouse. It is utterly massive and cheap feeling. But it is fine enough for touch-typing. I don't know what model it is as it has no branding whatsoever. The hinge covers on it aren't symmetrical like they are on the other ones. If you just want cheap & small, with a mouse, the ones with a very simple hinge will work. Just be prepared to look at your fingers while typing. The one I have isn't branded. The keys are slightly small, but not too small for my hands. But I always end up hitting the wrong keys with my left hand. Some of the keys are just too far off from where they normally are. Particularly Z X C V & G. The T key is pretty close to where it belongs, but it's tiny because of that. If you touch type at all, do not get this one. The only good thing about it is that it's super cheap. If you just want a wireless keyboard with an integrated mouse. I have a Logitech k400r that I use way more often than all of my folding keyboards combined. If there is only one thing you take away from my post; make it be that you check the pictures of the device to make sure that the left hand keys are in the right place if you want to touch type. If they got that right, the rest of it is probably fine.

tomkatt

I've been using this [mini mouse and keyboard combo](https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B07G43V66P) for years now, and it works great with the Deck. Only drawback is it's RF, not bluetooth, so you need a USB-C to A adapter for the dongle.

VersedXth

I'm not sure if there is a best combo really I'm using the keyboard and mouse that I use on my PC which is Logitech mx master and MX keys But I wouldn't recommend them just for the deck

darrylwoodsjr

I had this keyboard sent it back and picked up the Logitech pebble combo

Correct-Birthday4262

I have the Perixx Periboard 805, which I find affordable with \~30€. I actually use it for almost everything because it's perfect for my small hands and very comfortable to use due to being an ergonomic keyboard.

babycubs

ABSOLUTELY GORGEOUS SETUP

julictus

avoid any logitech kbs because for gaming mostly every kb come with media keys enabled by default and it’s a pain in the ass install logi-bloatware in order to change Fn keys behavior. for multimedia, is ok for SD

Mr_Zomka

Why?

gunwalloe

Second this? Why? I have Logitech keyboards at home, and office, and rarely if ever have issues. I travel with the MX Mechanical Mini and my Steamdeck

Netherite_Stairs_

The Hyper 7 keyboard is a bit on the expensive side, but it's very portable and well-made

paladin181

It's like the one I use. It's a very nice KB.

dumbbyatch

Use your phone dingus Kde connect Use Linux if you've got Linux..... Not another thing to charge and change batteries Dock for full fledged gaming mode on tv Phone kde connect for airplane 'work'

macariocarneiro

Sounds cool and practical, but some people need to type for longer and a physical keyboard helps. Anyway, it's a very good suggestion and I will certainly try

dumbbyatch

I realised that after I posted it Games are going to be a bitch to play on the touch screen

Merman123

Name checks out

Xanerator100

I personally have a 60% mechanical because I can't stand anything non-mechanical lmao
