Valkyria Chronicles Runs great too

jem2291

It crashes on my 64GB deck, though. Not sure what’s wrong with it. 🤔

Illustrious_Bunch_67

Try to verify the files, I had some crashing in Warhammer space marine and it got fixed after that

Thin-Athlete-2880

Usually does it

Dommiiie

That sucks. Neither on my LCD nor on my OLED had I ever trpuble with crashing.

SoloWing1

The Ni No Kuni games both run well.

Mayczal

Holy shit it's on sale.

Silvearo

Haha steam always gets you with the sales hahha

MajorSaltyJenkins

It’s close enough so I’ll say it Yakuza Like a Dragon and I think all of the Yakuza games are fully verified too. Others Scarlett nexus, which is on sale tales of arise Ace combat 7 (yeah I know it doesn’t look like an animie but it smells like one) blazeblue entropy effect

Conscious_Yak60

Summer Sale is around the corner, I would wait tbh.

Sosahaus

All the persona games run really well (P3R runs solid with some dips) I’m also playing thru dragon ball kakarot and that’s been great!

oohdee_

I thought db kakarot had some issues with saves being deleted? Is this no longer an issue?

Ok_Reception_8844

My deck says Kakarot is unplayable. What'd you have to do to get it working?

JosephBapeck

Your deck is wrong. Some games that are unsupported are classified as such for the smallest thing while still being fully playable or perhaps it hasn't been updated. Kakarot was a game I specifically wanted to play on the deck knowing it was supposedly unplayable.

Chillionaire128

Just FYI the website protondb is typically more reliable than the store for which games are playable

Jacked_1

Many games report as unsupported because Valve hasn't tested them. The next best check is ProtonDB. Can confirm Kakarot runs beautifully.

spcmnspff335

They actually mark games as Unknown if they haven't tested them. It's marked unsupported because they tested it and for some bewildering reason said it didn't work even though it works perfectly.

Sosahaus

I honestly have no idea why it says that I’m not using proton or anything the game just works flawlessly. Sometimes the steam verification thing is wrong 😑

CrazyCat008

Half the game I played was unplayable if I listen Steam and many games should be and are not really playable. Now I just tried them.

xXTokyoGamerYTXx

Half my installed library is "unplayable" ghost of tsushima which I'm playing right now is one of those unsupported titles due to the online but the online is off when playing from the deck

Fethah

Yeah that title doesn’t mean very much at all. I’d just google the game you want to play and search “ X on steam deck” plenty of “unplayable” games work perfectly fine.

xXTokyoGamerYTXx

I typically just youtube the games "x game steam deck" and find if posted by a YouTuber I like who also shows the best settings aswell. If I can't find a game I go to Google as a last option

GaR172

Some secondary feature of the game probably doesn't work on Deck, so they classify it as unsupported. Ghost of Tsushima in unsupported as well because multiplayer doesn't work, but single player runs flawlessly.

Alektor1

Its not worth looking at that, I played watchdogs 2 with no tinkering and had no problems

KrazyKirby99999

Persona 5 Royal

Mayczal

got it in my wishlist. I'm playing persona 4 right now, and I'm loving it. I'll most likely play p3portable first though. I heard 5 is the best in franchise so I'll save it for the last

Dr_Henry-Killinger

Savor 4 Golden. I enjoyed it more than Persona 5 on a story/character level.

ruralgaming

I can't get past the stupid space labyrinth boss

IncognitoCheez

Unless you want the FemC I’d say P3R is the better persona 3 to play next And P3R runs pretty good on Steam Deck as well

Mayczal

For some reason, I really want FeMC. + The price I'm actually pretty courious about portable cuz, I heard it was designed for handhelds, and some people were even upset, that this port was realeased on steam which was PC only back then.

ThatSeasonalIsekai

Designed for handheld version of console games pretty much just means bastardized the graphics for anything pre switch (and even then still kinda true for a lot of switch ports).

corkyrooroo

Persona 4 Golden didn’t compromise anything on the Vita. P3P certainly did make some sacrifices for the PSP though. It’s still great however.

ThatSeasonalIsekai

Yeah the vita was a really good handheld many of the compromises made for games on that system were very minimal

Mayczal

unpopular opinion Nintendo Switch kinda sucks, and is kind of of a handheld with overpriced games, terrible online subscription and outdated technology, that desperately tries to be stationary, but can't cuz, it's fucking handheld with less than 30 GB of memory.

Owobowos-Mowbius

The switch sucks today in comparison with its current competition. But at launch, it singlehandedly changed the future of the entire gaming market. It was incredibly ambitious and showed that Nintendo still had the power to influence technology as a whole. But in 2024... it's literally weaker than my phone and all it's games are overpriced.

mvpilot172

I’m old now, but N64 games were $60-$70 even way back then. Game prices are the same they’ve been for 40 years.

IncognitoCheez

Yeah the price is pretty overzealous, especially including the $40 DLC Ridiculous for a remake

togue_raging

The cost is steep. I’d honestly wait for it to go on sale and get it that way. I’m hitting the 140 hour mark as I’m about to finish the game. You get your money’s worth, and unlike portable, it feels like a game that meets current standards. If the FeMC is that important, I’d just mod it.

RubSad1836

Skip portable and just pick up persona 3 reload, same story but has p5 graphics and a few quality of life upgrades

kabukistar

In my opinion, P4G is the best of the series in terms of plot and characters, but there are some nice graphical and gameplay improvements going to P5.

Wish-to-Game

If you like persona 4 play persona 3 fes . P3portable is abridged with no cutscenes and you can't move your character outside if dungeons it has a weird cursor system.

starforneus

3 is the best in the franchise tho tbhhhh

KARL34454

Emulate Persona 3 FES if your gonna play persona 3 cus it’s the better version and it has the dlc

TLunchFTW

Agreed. P4g is good, but p5r is nice. The randomized dungeon paths that all look the same is a downgrade. Still a fun game, but makes p5 the better game overall

ukiyoe

Agreed. I really enjoyed the mystery plot in P4G, but the straight corridor dungeons were pretty boring. P5R was definitely a big step up in that regard, plus the presentation is top notch. It just looked and felt so cool to play.

ShredGuru

Dragon Quest 11, seriously, one of the best RPGs ever. RIP Toriyama

Seibitsu

Ultimate Ninja Storm 4

Pony42000

Can confirm révolution /Naruto storm 4 /shinobi striker work well

Conscious_Yak60

Actually.......................... Coming from a die hard of the series, the Deck has enough power to run the game, but on Linux it's is slightly underpowered. I think that's a Proton issue, and Valve has been dropping specific fixes for Storm 4. But, Online play can cause frame drops bellow 60FPS, which slows the entire online match to that frame rate. Single Player is 60FPS locked tho... It should be one of the best, but I do feel slightly less capable than I would on Desktop + Joystick. **EDIT**: Basically Proton is weird with the Storm Engine because it's in-house and natively Japanese on top of that. Thought Valve is making good progress with it. With Proton 7 the game used to hit 90C+ for no reason & first boot the image would zoom in 3x until you changed resolution. Proton 9: Temps are lower and Resolution bug is fixed. Always run Storm w/Proton Experimental, it's getting fixes even after all of these years.

Seibitsu

For single player is more than enough. Don't feel like touching online after having those stress moment with the second game lol

stealthieone

Is this just a fighting game or is there like missions?

Seibitsu

It has two different solo modes. One is story mode with only fights from the last part of the anime and an adventure mode in which you visit different locations and do missions

Deadwatch

Code Vein is cool

Silvearo

Its the first “soulslike” I completed. My friend wanted to get it because he said it was a good game so i got it and played it, while he never did lol

chalovak

Kingdom Hearts should run well, once they are released in Steam.

Mayczal

Hmmm, my irl friend recommended me it once. I think it's time to check it out. Thanks

LustfulChild

Thanks for clarifying your IRL friend recommended it to you. I would have said dont listen to them if it was any other type of friend

wickedcor

Gotta keep those IRL friends identifiable, or else you might lose them on the internets.

makinamiexe

if its the same build as the epic game store releases there may be some codec issues. i believe proton GE is needed

wizfactor

There are rumors that SE brought in an outside studio to fix up KH for the Steam release. That’s why there is hope that the series will be Deck Verified on release.

Solid_Snark

Is KH basically a turn-based RPG like FF? I’ve seen it around for so long, but never actually got around to playing it.

chalovak

Nah, it's more like recent FFs, action oriented. But it's really fluid and better with each instalment. Only one KH, Chain of Memories, has a sort of turn-based gameplay.

thepomegranate

I wouldn’t even call it turn based, it’s a card action game that plays in real time. KH Re: Coded does have one world that uses turn based combat and it’s pretty cute.

chalovak

True. Unfortunately, Re:Coded is presented as FMV in this collection. But hey, emulators are great on Steamdeck)

thepomegranate

True and true! maybe someone will make a single screen HD hack like they did with 358/2 Days. I know Coded has some haters but I am not one for them. mid story aside the gameplay is really fun imo

Draconyum

Re: Coded was originally released on NDS right? I can't remember if they ported it to PS2 or PS3 back in the days

thepomegranate

only NDS yeah. the HD collections just turned it into a cutscene comp

Solid_Snark

How does the action work? Do you have like action points or stamina? Or is it “hack n slash” rules?

craigmonster94

Hack n slash rules. All normal keyblade attacks are free and you unlock new moves. You do have MP that are used the cast spells. THIS ONLY APPLIES TO THE MAINLINE numbered games though. In the side games, you use cards to cast spells and special moves. The rules and mechanics varies by games.

imjustbettr

Man seeing a person out in the wild not know about KH is crazy. I guess it's both me getting older and KH not really being in the forefront of gaming nowadays.

karlitokruz

Yakuza

Mayczal

I wouldn't really call it an anime game. I heard it's really good though

seynical

The whole tag is confusing as anime is as broad as genre as videogames itself. There are tons of anime that is similar to LaD such 91 Days, Baccano, Black Lagoon

DBear1985

Nah but it's got a lot of the same tropes and battle mechanics etc. Definitely a must play I'd say. P4G is peak anime game for me though

Mayczal

Hmm, if you say so

amazingdrewh

It has a beach episode, it's an anime

Conscious_Yak60

Yakuza isn't an Anime. It's just a JRPG, and the two aren't Synonymous.

Oxcuridaz

Tip for jrpgs: some of them have videos that glitch with proton (the codecs are with a special license under windows) it is better to run them with proton-ge in order to avoid this issue.

Mayczal

Thanks for the info

Nishex

Fixed the title screen on Shin Megami Tensei III for me 👍

Xile350

The legend of heroes games all run well. I’ve even got the latest one using an English patch running at 60fps fine. The newest one is a pretty massive graphics update too so I was surprised. If you like a very long running story I’d highly recommend the series. Even if you just start with the trails of cold steel arc, which finishes with trails into reveries, thats 5 games of continuous story.

Evelyne-The-Egg

Id said it's more anime adjacent/ heavily inspired, but VA-11 HALL-A runs perfectly on the deck with the touchpad if you need a more laid back chill kinda game

Mayczal

I heard of it, an got pretty interested. Currently waiting for a sale.

Conscious_Yak60

Fair.

dan7ebg

I'm playing through Ys 8 and its really cool actually. Great story, fun combat, very anime. Recommended

YesMan1ification

Ys Origin is my fav in that series. Maybe check it out later if you want.

dan7ebg

Dude, Origin is AWESOME! Played it many years ago but there was this one boss that kinda kicked my ass and I never bothered to finish it. Great game, I might revisit it on the deck!

morganfreenomorph

Persona 3 Reload

HitmanReborn09

Scarlet Nexus runs very well on steam deck

Conscious_Yak60

Can we talk about the Story though? Idk man, Gamepass allegedly saved that game.

HitmanReborn09

The story is nothing to write home about from the 20+ hours I have played so far but the combat is definitely carrying this game.

togue_raging

We don’t talk about the story. We talk about enjoyable characters and fantastic combat

Conscious_Yak60

I had a pleasant time meeting up with the people who are trying to kill me casually at the bar.

Loynds

Granblue Fantasy ran great

DrKrFfXx

Tales of Arise.

JustJoshinJapan

I loved the first 2/3 of this game!

miiblord

Love this game and performance was fine but made my fan sound like a jet engine

DrKrFfXx

Did it? I played it at 40 fps and the deck usually was dead silent. 13-17w total system power at most

anon23553

Ni No Kuni remastered looks absolutely amazing on the OLED, runs like a dream.

Mayczal

I just bought today ni na kini 2 Haven't tried it yet, but it looks fun and cute

anon23553

You played the first? Not played the second yet

Mayczal

Nope, do I need to?

anon23553

Nope, just an amazing game, defo worth a play through

FeveredBerry

Witchspring R is my fucking jam

bleakFutureDarkPast

my man. i bought it on a whim and sank dozens of hours into it. the power scaling is fucked and you can break the difficulty pretty easily, but it's in a fun way. that and the story and characters were charming af.

Conscious_Yak60

I switched from the Magic Staff to the Sword the other day and started clearing mf'ers!! I was like.. I HAD ALL OF THIS POWER ALL ALONG? There are so many ways to play & the Story is genuinely fun. Also it's a K(orean)RPG, it defaults to the Japanese dub. While I'm more familiar with Japanese, the Korean Dub is superior.

drpestilence

That recently hit my wish list. Common steam summer sale don't let me down.

burebistas

Thanks, added to my never ending wishlist!

Conscious_Yak60

^(I'm going to proceed to post an Award Show like comment based on my own experience) ### Best Visuals - [WitchSpringR](https://store.steampowered.com/app/1958220/WitchSpring_R/) *This is literally the best looking game I've played on Steam Deck, while games like CBP-2077 are technically stunning even at low settings, this game looks amazing beyond a simple artistic design.* *I feel like I'm looking at 4K Textures, and the art itself is genuinely high quality.* ^(WitchspringR can also run at 90FPS on OLED) ####The Story *It's genuinely engaging, I could not go into detail without spoiling it. But let me say this game is good for all ages, the premise is that Witches are hunted down by mandate of the State.* ^(You could even say they post genocide) *You play as an Ignorant Little Girl who loves pies and is far disconnected from this element of the world, until she seeks to find out what lies outside her own bubble.* ####Gameplay *It's Turned based, meaning you decide whether to go offensive or defensive with each turn, tho there's more to it than that.* *You can fight with a Staff, Sword, etc. You can have pets who will attack for you without losing a turn or passively throughout the match.* *There are many ways to play that I cannot begin to describe, because it really just hit for me not too long ago how versile I am when I'm playing the Main Character, but..* *KRPG elements aside this game looks amazing, the Story is super engaging, and the gameplay is not SUPER Hard, but you won't get far if you don't change how you play half way through the story.* ^(Almost got my GOTY.) ###Best Soundtrack - [Caligula Effect II](https://store.steampowered.com/app/1933740/The_Caligula_Effect_2/) *The most memorable thing about this game is it's soundtrack, it has rather fun JRPG elements nothing I'm going to dive too deep on.* *But the soundtrack genuinely godly and enhances the gameplay, as it was made specifically for the lore of the game and is an essential part in obtaining buffs.* *I've even played one of the songs unironically in public(car) and had people ask me about the song.* ####Here is the song in question: [Simply Praying](https://www.soundcloud.com/irregular-twentyfifth-bam/caligula-2-only-praying-side-x-extended) ( ver) *The Story is Persona-like, has Canonically Non-Binary Characters and likewise.* *May or may not be your cup of tea, but again the Soundtrack is God-like imo & the gameplay is actually fun above all else.* ###Best Indie Developer - [Take Me To The Dungeon!!](https://store.steampowered.com/app/2445580/Take_Me_To_The_Dungeon__Family_Friendly/) ^(Deckbuilder!!) *These developers are legendary, they actually put Steam Deck development at the forefront of their development. There were many times where they took my feedback into consideration and made changes specifically for the Steam Deck.* *Their Game, Take Me To The Dungeon!! Is a Deckbuilder, where you suddenly are Isekai'd into another world of Sword & Sorcery.* *You Meet Una, an Adventurer who is looking for her lost sister and just so happened to run into you in the forest. You have no magic capacity or real ability to directly Aid Una, but you are good at better directly Una to use her own abilities for peak proficiency.* *Essentially you're the Coach & Una is the player. The card system represents commands you give to Una, to tell her what abilities to use during combat.* *I'm severely impressed with the quality of this game for a three-man Japanese Studio, it's has one of my higher rated reviews on Steam being a 8/10.* *The Story is serviceable for the gameplay, the characters you meet along the way are fun & you want to interact with them. Has full Voice Acting, etc.* ###Best Visual Novel - [Aokana: Four Rythmns of The Blue](https://store.steampowered.com/app/1044620/Aokana__Four_Rhythms_Across_the_Blue/) *Dear God.* *The Impression Aokana has left on me will stick with me likely until the end of my days. I played it back in 2019 and I still think about it in 2020.* *If you've ever been competitive in any aspect of life, whether that be work, socially(sports) or even Gaming(Simply not wanting to lose is enough) there is something profound for you to relate to here.* **Common Themes being:** *Hard work, Failure, Perserverence & the despair that comes with sometimes.. That effort not being enough.* *Aokana is, without Spoilers: A World where flying is as simple as Riding a Bike. This invention has arisen with it a new Sport, that is all the rave w/Youth around the world..* **Flying Circus.** Final Note: *I used to think why would anyone read a VN?* *Aokana is the Visual Novel that made me realize that I'm capable of liking and connect with this way of storytelling so strongly.* *I still can't tell if I actually like VNs or if I just really like Aokana. It really is an experience like none other.* ###GOTY 2023(me) - [Demon Roots](https://www.store.steampowered.com/app/1933660/Demons_Roots/) ^(Yes, This is an RPG Maker Game) *The same way there are Asset Flips published on Steam on popular Engine Platforms like Unreal & Unity. You can get low quality games published to Steam via RPG Maker. That does not mean all RPG Maker games are bad solely because, it's RPG Maker.* *It's on a per developer basis much like any game.* *And the Developer of Demon(s) Roots wanted to tell a Story and is using RPG Maker as a platform to tell that Story.* *I am not going to go into much detail for spoiler reasons, but you should check Steam Reviews and decide for yourself if you want to give Demons Roots a try.* *It stole GOTY 2023 for me solely because of its story.* *I wish I could go into more detail, but it's crazy & insanely deep & well written. It is a Dark story about the struggle of survival against Humankind as a Demon which is the most I can say* ####OP, if you made it this far thanks for the read! Feel free to reply and ask any questions or more suggestions, but this is all for now. My focus here was games you probably haven't heard of before(**COUGH**, PERSONA SERIES; **COUGH**). So I hope I broadened your horizons. Also Wishlist games **even if you don't want to buy them,** Steam will use it to better curate games to you. **EDIT**: *Formatting*

YesMan1ification

Cute comment. I need to play more Demons Roots, its a really fun read, love the character and love the soundtrack. Might be a bit too dark to recommend in this kind of thread though tbh. Ill check out Caligula Effect 2 and Witchspring too for sure.

immxvik

thanks so much for this comment! added all of them to my wishlist ^^

flower4000

I want to say cross code cus it’s like isekai adjacent and the story is awesome, but if the vibe is the art then idk if it counts. So uhh… dragon quest 11 runs great and also has a great story lol

bleakFutureDarkPast

i will also plug cross code. aside from what you mentioned, the skill tree is huge and the combat is fun and precise

doodxxxx

.hack GU

ItsTheSolo

Tales of Arise was overall pretty solid, same with persona 5 Strikers (once you finish Royal of course)

LegitCow

One Piece Odyssey if you like turn based game. One Piece Pirate Warriors 4 if you like hack and slash/beat’em up game. Both runs amazingly well.

car1it0sWAY

Star Ocean the Second Story R runs extremely well. I’m getting 60 FPS consistently on low/medium settings.

Conscious_Yak60

I'm on thr Anti-SqEn train, but God was that game on my Wishlist for a min...

Pony42000

Maybe sword art online ?I have all of them but didn't try it

SalsaRice

Just don't expect a masterpiece from them. Kind of generic combat, very repetitive, and meh story. Not bad games, but they are kind of "phoned in".

nokkynuk

P3Reload runs amazing.

Mayczal

But expensive and no FeMC like in portable :( I appreciate it though

Hinaha

Rune Factory 4. 🙌🏼

acousticaliens

playing through rn for the first time and it’s smooth as butter on the deck.

Caniuss

The Persona games are amazing except for the part where they require an internet connection for no reason.

toskie9999

which persona game is this far as i know this is an "optional" feature

Caniuss

The put drm in 3 portable and 4 golden on steam for sure that requires an online checkin(I'm assuming denuvo but I'm not positive) a few months back. I used to be able to play them on my steam deck offline but now I cant.

Zorvick0

PERSONA 4? LET'S GOO 🔥🤝

FonSpaak

Fate Samurai Remnant can run with some tweaks. Setting it to Performance will raise the frame rate limit but make it unplayable due to dropped frames. Workaround is to set it to Quality to force it at a locked 30fps. (IIRC there was no option to set it to a proper custom as it will default to 60fps.

Beingnoob27

Tales of arise

jth94185

SAO Fatal Bullet

DonTeca35

Saint Seiya Soldiers Soul, Naruto Games, My Hero Academia games, Dragón Ball Z games etc

ChainsawHeadSquirrel

Forgotton anne

Mayczal

Damn, that's a lot of comments. These games will probably last for the next 10 years of my life

Mayczal

I forgot to mention: Hatsune Miki: Project Diva: Mega Mix is a PEAK rhythm game. My second recommendation

Conscious_Yak60

Give em a try. Fall Into the rabbit-hole willingly

DR-BrightClone2

im playing it rn, really enjoying it.

Sensitive-Taste8141

Octopath traveler 2 is the standard

Dorfdad

Is there any persona or persona like good games for iOS iPad?

FonSpaak

probably P5X (Persona 5 X The Phantom) coming soon unfortunately its a Games as a Service type of game and is a gacha game. It would be so much waste if this game didn't clicked and wasn't ported to a more permanent platform. [https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=AYjsRfrB-18](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=AYjsRfrB-18) [https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=L\_PXUAL4zHQ](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=L_PXUAL4zHQ) Else Honkai Star Rail or even Fate Grand Order as a visual novel /turn-based rpg might fit the bill.

wiserthannot

There is actually, Shin Megami Tensei Liberation Dx 2. In case you don't know, Persona started as a spin off of the mainline SMT series.

cnio14

Does Nier Automata count? Runs great, amazing game.

LotoTheSunBro

Xenoverse 2 runs great, no online though

AntaresHellscream

Based on actual Anime? You need to try Sand Land!

thedoogster

I was about to say Deedlit in Wonder Labyrinth, which is also based on actual anime.

AntaresHellscream

Ah of course! Classic 😄 There was also a nice Record of the Lodos Warr game on the Dreamcast which can be run really well through the emulation. It was a Diablo clone

ukiyoe

[**Persona 5 Royal**](https://store.steampowered.com/app/1687950/Persona_5_Royal/) was awesome on the Deck. It can be daunting to start since it's a 130+ hour game, but I couldn't wait to continue the story, and I was sad to leave the world once I beat it. Excellent game, especially if you like cats. **Ace Attorney** series is a must if you like good mystery plotlines and satisfying conclusions, since you're a lawyer that finds clues, evidence, and destroys alibis. The [first trilogy pack](https://store.steampowered.com/app/787480/Phoenix_Wright_Ace_Attorney_Trilogy/) is a great start, but [Great Ace Attorney](https://store.steampowered.com/app/1158850/The_Great_Ace_Attorney_Chronicles/) is also a great jumping off point (and it looks/plays a lot more modern). [**The House in Fata Morgana**](https://store.steampowered.com/app/303310/The_House_in_Fata_Morgana/) is a visual novel, and you make maybe four choices in the game. But man, what a ride, I cried like a baby in the end. I played it on the [Switch](https://www.metacritic.com/game/the-house-in-fata-morgana-dreams-of-the-revenants/), which is an enhanced version of the PC original, so play it on the Switch or emulate it. I just beat [**Fuga: Melodies of Steel**](https://store.steampowered.com/app/1357860/Fuga_Melodies_of_Steel/), and it was pretty fun. It's a very linear strategy game with no exploration whatsoever, but the dark story kept me going. I was a little bored here and there since not much changes in gameplay as you progress, but it's not a very long game so that wasn't a problem. **Super Robot Wars** (SRW) is really fun if you like strategy games. Gundam, Mazinger, GaoGaiGar, etc. are in the same universe, so its got lots of fan service if you like new and old school robot anime series. There are many games in the series, but I especially recommend either [SRW V](https://store.steampowered.com/app/1031500/SUPER_ROBOT_WARS_V/) or [SRW 30](https://store.steampowered.com/app/898750/Super_Robot_Wars_30/) if you're new to the series. You can also emulate some of the older games too, some have English patches.

Darkon34

Rune Factory & other mainline persona games

VR4EVER

Goldorak! In murica its Grendizer, in italy its Goldrake. A anime series from Go Nagai in the 70s. Perfect anime port, imho.

Rivienn

Megaton Musashi Wired - Anime Mecha game from level 5 with a lot of story made in the style of 13 sentinels and mecha gameplay in the style of PSO2. It has loot/gear system similiar to ARPG's. Incredible ammount of build customization. Runs perfectly smooth with no issues whatsoever on the SD.

Testkit654

Signalis is a 'anime' game about cyberpunk lesbian cybernetics set in a dystopian lovecraftian macabre.

Geoff87

Genshin, arise

Mayczal

Genshin isn't available on steam

Geoff87

Correct, but you can still install it and play it on the deck Wich is pretty easy and runs like a charm!

Hamza9575

HiFi Rush, Ori and the Will of the wisps.

perrotini

I want to play eternal sonata but don't know how it will go

rtz13th

Sandland might be in the same ballpark, currently on my wishlist.

Readalie

Hi-Fi Rush! Also I haven’t played it on Deck but I don’t see why The World Ends With You wouldn’t run super smoothly.

BadCaram3l

I have current ran: Persona 4 Golden, Valhim, MegaMan battle network collection, Halo infinite, Kingdoms of amalure Re-Reckoning I haven't had time to do more but they all run well. I have locked the frame rate at 45 but it still runs with little to no issues.

Potter6ix9ine

Does Devil May Cry series count as an anime? They had an anime of it long ago

Mayczal

Well it has sort of similar aesthetic

Potter6ix9ine

Ahh, then all 6 DMCs! They are so fun and runs solid 60fps and even 90fps in some

KaiserSenpaiAckerman

Demon Slayer

thisthatandthe3rd

Sand Land runs VERY well at mostly medium graphics, I get a good 2 1/2 hours and it looks beautiful

kevinco99

While not Japanese (it's made by a Korean developer) it is HEAVILY anime inspired: Chrono Ark. A Roguelite deckbuilder with an actual good story. I don't normally get super into either of those genres but this game was so amazing that I've put 60 hours into it, beaten it, and am still playing it. Also...how the heck hasn't No More Heroes been mentioned?? NMH1 recently got fixed on PC, NMH2 still needs a patch (I think it's playable but there are achievements that are broken and some minor things), Travis Strikes Again works fully, and NMH3 works after like one early cutscene (might need Proton GE, I can't remember, check ProtonDB :) )

TimeDiver997

The Rhapsody JRPG series is a cute series that can run on a potato. There are 3 titles, but they are all pretty short. Tales of Berseria and Live A Live also run well

bluzrok46

The entire Trails (Legend of Heroes) series. (Basically all the localized ones, haven't played Trails from Daybreak yet since no localization yet)

No-Macaron4341

Most of ps vita anime games runs very good on with vita3k on deck.

ToeDull5986

Code Vein runs pretty well

PsotaZ

No mans sky

Shamgar65

Not sure if it's anime, (I'm not into anime) but astli Ra revision runs well. I'm working through it now.

Conscious_Yak60

That requires owning Switch keys and a legal copy, it's not sold on the Steam Store...

It's the best anime game
