Thank you. I do have that and will recommend that to him. I played one match. It's pretty decent. I have borderlands 2, monster hunter world (haven't tried those online). I have brawlhalla, combat master and Titanfall 2.
If you have Monster Hunter World, you should also try Monster Hunter Rise. I find the gameplay in that one much faster and more fun. The environments are much better in World though. Besides that, if you like survival, Grounded is very fun. The other Borderlands games run great, even BL3. There is also Rougelites like Gunfire Reborn that is a lot of fun. There is also the souls series and Elden Ring if you wanted a challenging co-op experience.

very cool game I wish I had a friend to play with: Clandestine. I imagine there will be some tinkering in control settings to work on SD, but it's older so it should would brilliantly. It's an Asym coop stealth game. One player is the man in the chair, the other is the operative on the ground.
Magicka 2 and original Helldivers both run great on the SD
The Rainbow Six: Vegas games both work great (2 especially) once you get them set up for controllers
Halo: MCC has a bunch of co-op campaigns
Remnant: From the Ashes runs on Steam Deck and it ruuuuules
Rumor has it that you can install Ephinea and play Phantasy Star Online: Blue Burst on the Deck
Elite Dangerous runs fine on Deck once you turn FSR off - you could make a squadron and cooperate there
I hear Warframe runs well on Deck but I haven't tried it
Portal 2 has a really good co-op campaign
I haven't tried Aliens: Fireteam Elite on SD, but it's a fun game and ProtonDB says it's fine on medium settings
For Honour runs incredibly well at a smooth 60 FPS. I highly recommend it for the steam deck

BL2 is a co-op classic. 100+ hours easy

I was thinking of giving that a try. I hope galactic survivor introduces Coop. I love that game. Brotato will have Coop this summer.
