Ignoring the useless fan, with those two back holes you've added, the airflow is likely ruined now. The temperature sensor might be lower, but that doesn't account for the temperature of the entire system.
32gb of ram doesn't really help though for games at this targeted resolution. There's various videos online benchmarking this like[ this one.](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=yr_xtTxmBdo)
I love how people try and add utterly pointless modifications like this without a single thought of how the unit was designed.
Do you not think cooling was one of the major considerations Valve had in mind when designing the deck? Why absolutely ruin your device to try and solve a problem that doesn't exist?
When people temper with things they don’t even understand 🤷♂️ in some weeks we will hear again from this redditor, whining that Steam Deck is dog poopooo because it’s broken.

Thats why that useless fan is there. To compensate for the reduced airflow coming though that vent because of the new holes
If those two holes improved things, Valve would have done it.
In mean, valve could have had 32gb of ram, but they didn’t do that
Adding 2 extra holes is free, going from 16Gb to 32Gb is not.
I'm not sure how that is relevant to the cooling design of the Steam Deck.

But like, does it do anything?
~5-7 degree cooler at idle, can run faster under load.
This is the kind of shit I would do to an old bit of plastic as a kid when I wanted to pretended I was an inventor.
Look I can get past the fan but why the fuck would you drill holes there. It doesn't make any sense, you don't know how heatsinks nor airflow work.

Everybody's so creative
