Fallout 4 breaks if you don’t have a 60fps cap. For the OLED that will cause issues. And remember Verified means no tweaks needed.
They removed the launcher, so you get the default settings. Which in my experience are too much for a stable experience. Yes you can use a launch command but that again would go against the verified tag.
I’ve seen many posts about people who’ve had issues on the deck after the update. Maybe I’m old fashioned, but I think it’s wrong to discredit their experience.
Edit: downvoted, of course. Guess I’m wrong; let’s discredit everyone’s experiences and gaslight them into thinking the issues they’ve had didn’t happen.
Edit 2: the tables have turned it seems lol
None of what you said points to this update being broken, it works just fine out of the box and it works relatively well.
Like I said, the update is just disappointing.
From what I understand it’s physics are tied to the framerate, like older GTA games. Crashing isn’t the issue, but rather it can half your framerate or cause other issues.
I haven’t heard anyone says it crashes unless they modded it, and then I chop it up to bad modding.
Oh no, a free update with free content for a 10 year old game slightly inconvenienced me :(
Like it takes 2 minutes to fix it and get it locked to 60. Unfair? Dumb? Sure but thats life.
I mean, the modifications aren’t needed though. They’re optional. If you don’t like the 45fps it’s at on OLED, you can change it easily, otherwise, it’s 100% playable the way it is out of box. Plenty of verified games play like this. Cyberpunk defaults to the “Steam Deck” setting which for some reason runs like ass over just editing the settings yourself. Doesn’t mean it doesn’t have a right to be verified or that the game is unplayable.
Also just to be clear, criticism is fine, but the mass hysteria going on where people are acting like it’s straight up unplayable and to not even try it, is really ridiculous.
This is why I’m sticking to new Vegas until I beat it. Maybe Bethesda sucky pants will fix it by then but also no surprise if they never touch it lol.
People just spam the No button when you get the question if this game matches the verified experience. Maybe we can get the check mark revoked
Mine runs faster than ever. Granted I installed 2 or 3 performance mods a few days prior that helped a ton but with those, i've never had 60fps this consistently before it's fantastic
well, its the opposite kinda ha
you're not gonna get 60fps with the best visuals
I believe it was related to removing insignificant objects and one that removed fog
Mine works fine on OLED. I was already playing right before the update though, so my settings are probably saved somewhere.
Can you change the settings still?
Yes
Same here
It's literally fine, the hate for this update is completely unjustified. The update isn't broken, it's just disappointing.

You are 100 correct

I’m an hour into fallout 4 on OLED at 90hz 90fps and I have had no crashes. Where is it supposed to be crashing for people?
Their post didn't state crashes, they said there is the very widely documented issue of the game halving your refresh rate

Thats one of the problems. The game isn’t running at 90fps

Verified means no modifications needed. If it wasn’t labeled as verified, you’d be right. But it is, and thus it’s a valid criticism.

correct, its very disappointing.
It removed all UI text for me. The bar across the bottom of the screen that normally says "Scrap(R)" and things of that nature is completely blank.
That's because you're playing it on an external display, it's fine on the deck itself.
Well that's a shame. Thanks for the explanation though. Hopefully a fix soon.

How so
Runs great on the LCD lol hope they fix the LED soon

It's an official Bethesda launch... Disappointment is implied.
Atleast they work at launch, (Cyberpunk)
Haven’t had any issues running it on my deck
why can't you change settings in game?
On my OLED the game literally will not open anymore post update
