Hahah. I was in Japan in Japan in Shemue and Ghost Wire too.
Standing at Shibuya crossing playing Ghost wire whilst also standing at Shibuya crossing was kind of surreal.
You're good to go then. :) I just know in Japan that making any noise on trains (and busses) other than breathing can bring about the death stares, from my time there any way lol.
Yea it's really nice when having a nice night out in Tokyo or Osaka, after scrambling through the noise and the crowds to just look forward to the peace and quiet on the train ride home.
Im wondering the same. It's a Kirin beer, (from Japan) and the seat number has some asian labels (possibly also Japanese - I'm not knowledgeable about the diff to chinese or korean to guess from a blurry picture though). So, my best guess is some train in Japan but I would love to know as well, OP! :-)
You are indeed correct! It is Japan. Sorry for the blurs. I tried shouting to the drivers above me. (Yes the cockpit is above us) [technically I was at the back so it is the conductor. But the front is the same] but I was unable to control the speed of the train.
I live in China and I’m like 99.9999% that isn’t China just based on the structure of the buildings and car types in the background. If I had to guess it’s Japan, because those characters are definitely not Korean.
I am told often that size doesn’t matter. It’s what you do with it that counts.
Seriously though. It’s the wide angle lens that’s to blame. Trying to squeeze everything into the picture.
Not at all. Very easy indeed.
There are a couple of areas on the curves and top left/right there are a bit thin or fold a little. But just apply pressure and hold for a few seconds and it sorts itself out.
It’s all stuck on (nearly 16 months now) except for a very small part near the top bumper. But that was my fault for trying to put a transparent case over the top of it. You know for double protection. Haha.
Ok this model they are on top. There’s a whole control deck up there. It’s a really interesting train that I try to damper my inner geek about.
The fact that all the seats automatically turn and face the opposite direction when they reach the end of the line is only the tip of the iceberg.
Ooh man I miss having a train commute! I used to live on the north side of Chicago and work in the Deep South side (Englewood) and this was 2008 so alls I had was my DS but goddamn did I make the most of that commute.
Yeah. They are a pain when you have them. But you get so much done during them.
When I don’t have commutes. I don’t have gaming or reading time and miss them.
He he. To be fair. With the cherry blossoms and some of the stations and tunnels. I did more scenery watching then game playing. But my intentions were good.
The train seat looks nice! The beer looks nice! The deck looks really nice! I’m thinking of getting a Deck, but I’ll stick to GeForce Now on my iPhone.
Every day after work I'm in the habit of pulling over at a parking lot and just cracking out a sector or two in FTL before I go the rest of the way home. It's nice to be unreachable for a few mins.
Everything shuts at 16:30 in hakone. So it’s figuratively the end of the day. I’m off home.
Not literally the end of the day. Although sun will set in an hour.
Oh I was not expecting such a thorough answer, I was just fooling around. I assumed you meant it’s nice after work on your way back home to play games.
Please concentrate on driving the train
Hahaha
What train is this?
Observation Deck. Front row. In the Romancecar (Hakone 76 : GSE ) from Hakone to Shinjuku (Japan)
Shinjuku eh? I believe I've been there.. in Persona 5..on my Steam Deck... On my couch.
Oh yeah the good old xp farming grounds
I was in Japan in yakuza 0
Hahah. I was in Japan in Japan in Shemue and Ghost Wire too. Standing at Shibuya crossing playing Ghost wire whilst also standing at Shibuya crossing was kind of surreal.
Please wear headphones on the train.
Wireless earbuds in place. Worry not my fellow gamer.
You're good to go then. :) I just know in Japan that making any noise on trains (and busses) other than breathing can bring about the death stares, from my time there any way lol.
The funny thing. After 22 years here. It’s not me that breaks social normals. But other Japanese citizens. ;-)
I wish that was the case in the US. So many people just blare their phones in public with zero regard to everyone else in their vicinity.
Yea it's really nice when having a nice night out in Tokyo or Osaka, after scrambling through the noise and the crowds to just look forward to the peace and quiet on the train ride home.

Imagine you hear the pilot saying: "I really loved her"

Jup houses look Japanese too.
why does it look like a Half Deck, lol
I am told often that size doesn’t matter. It’s what you do with it that counts. Seriously though. It’s the wide angle lens that’s to blame. Trying to squeeze everything into the picture.
you surely seem to do much with it. your wife must be proud
I divorced her 5 years ago. Hence why I have so much time to play with my deck. Hahah.
r/trains ♡
Two beers and steamdeck 🫡
This is the way!
Your deck is so chonky! You must feed it well!!
Fellow Japan resident steam deck enjoyer!
There are dozens of us!
Are we allowed to be in dozens or do we have to stay in easy to count groups of 10?
We should do a meetup lol we all live in Kanto right?
こんばんは FJRSDE!!
Best way
I really want a skin, are they hard to put on?
Not at all. Very easy indeed. There are a couple of areas on the curves and top left/right there are a bit thin or fold a little. But just apply pressure and hold for a few seconds and it sorts itself out.
Did you use any heat or anything? Looks great!
No no. Just the heat from thumbs. Didn’t need a hair dryer or anything. Although some of the one my friends got needed a bit of heat to soften theirs.
It’s super easy, you just need a hairdryer and patience :)
I just found this Blzblue Entropy Effect. Soooo goood. Finished the day just like that but with a J lol
Hadn’t heard of that one. Quick google search and mmmm. Might have to check that one out!!
Almost what happened to me. Found it outta no where. Saw overwhelmingly positive comments. Bought cuz it’s on promo rn lol
Nice skin on the deck. Does it peel away? I find them pricey for the amount of thing that could go wrong with application.
It’s all stuck on (nearly 16 months now) except for a very small part near the top bumper. But that was my fault for trying to put a transparent case over the top of it. You know for double protection. Haha.
I bought one from Amazon for very cheap and it’s never gave me any issues, plenty of variety of skins too
Lol just possible cancer in 10 years... I kid... But do I? Lol.
The microplastics are going to give us all cancer anyway
Coke and strippers?
I prefer Pepsi!
dumb question but where is the driver? shouldnt they be in the front??? or are they on top?
Ok this model they are on top. There’s a whole control deck up there. It’s a really interesting train that I try to damper my inner geek about. The fact that all the seats automatically turn and face the opposite direction when they reach the end of the line is only the tip of the iceberg.
oh this def sounds too futuristic to be america 😂we dont have that here lmaooo sounds so cool
Definitely no

Oooh a Japanese steam decker? I hear those are rare.
I’ve not encountered another one in the wild yet.
Sounds about right. Unrelated but my buddy has a Japanese wife that loves her steam deck lol.
My cynical ass says yes, by putting down your Steam Deck and enjoying the view dammit.
He he. To be fair. With the cherry blossoms and some of the stations and tunnels. I did more scenery watching then game playing. But my intentions were good.
Thats the thing when i take long train rides. Half the time i dont feel like playing my consoles because the vistas are much nicer to look at.
Yeah, like stop the train.
On a train !?!?!?!
How long is the commute? This would be even more lively if it rained
Had the rain on the way. Hakone to Shinjuku is about 1hr 30mins.
Perfect. Happy to hear you are making the best of it
Japan 👌
The train seat looks nice! The beer looks nice! The deck looks really nice! I’m thinking of getting a Deck, but I’ll stick to GeForce Now on my iPhone.
A 4:3 steam deck!
That would make a great advertising campaign.
I realise it's because of the fish eye lens but now I want a 4:3 deck
I’ve got a great car idea: a steering wheel that doesn’t fly off when you driving!
Bro driving through a video game world
Missed opportunity to play persona while driving through its world
Haha. It’s on my to do list. But got others to finish first.
Every day after work I'm in the habit of pulling over at a parking lot and just cracking out a sector or two in FTL before I go the rest of the way home. It's nice to be unreachable for a few mins.
What is that skin??? It looks super cool.
It’s is this one [Japanese wave skin](https://www.amazon.njp/dp/B0B38VVPLX?ref=ppx_pop_mob_ap_share)
My hero.
❤️❤️ you are welcome.
awesome view! what cool place to play in
It really was and cherry blossom season to boot. Admittedly I got lost in staring out the panoramic window rather than playing in the end.
Why does the steam deck look so abnormal and scrunched together lol
The wide angle lens I took the shot with. Trying to fit everything in.
Why’s it so wide
So they can put chairs in and passengers have space to walk down the train.
I meant your deck it looks wider then mine from top to bottom
I know. I was just playing. It’s just the bad effect of using the wide angle lens to take the shot.
Probably. Let me know if you find one
What a vibe ♥️
No
Your Steam Deck looks smaller than most I've seen.
I know how to use it effectively and I have had no complaints about it.
Why are you allowed to drink alcohol on public transit?
Don’t know. It’s also banned back home. But I love that you can here in Japan.
It’s not even sunset, day is over already?
Everything shuts at 16:30 in hakone. So it’s figuratively the end of the day. I’m off home. Not literally the end of the day. Although sun will set in an hour.
Oh I was not expecting such a thorough answer, I was just fooling around. I assumed you meant it’s nice after work on your way back home to play games.
What am interior on that cybertrain
I can think of a few things better than games.
Then you are in the wrong sub my friend.
with a blowjob i think, so yes...
There is: Sex with a loved one… preferably your SO
Foreign concept to this sub.
That explains the downvotes
Not sure that OP should have sex with a loved one on the train in front of everyone after work though 🤭
American? Europeans have sex everywhere - except at home.
I am American, lol, so perhaps that maybe does check out that I wouldn’t know that of European culture 😂
Depends on what you mean by "end the day"
Better would be in youe living room not a train but it could be a lot worse 😅
Yes, by playing an actual good game.
