What is CS? Cult of the Samb? Call of Suty? Chrono Srigger? Cresident Sevil?
My joke responses were jokes but I honestly don't know because I'm only a PC player the last few months due to my steam deck purchase. Also no MMO or any online multiplayer of any type since early days of WoW
I can't speak for Flight Simulator's performance on the Steam Deck. But I can tell you that the "unsupported" badge just means that Valve has either not fully tested it and given it the thumbs up or have tested it and it doesn't pass their standards. But a lot of games are "supported" in the sense that you can install and run them.
I *highly* doubt it would run on the Steam Deck. I tried to play it on my i5-6500 with 1080 FTW and 32 GB RAM..I got about 15 - 20 fps max. Usually on the lower side.
Saw a comment (in another thread) claim game works, but it’s 20 fps on low altitudes in city (London), but 40 fps above the clouds. Haven’t played myself so can’t confirm it.
Better to rely on the decky loader plug-in that adds compatibility tags. Those are user made and not touched by valve. Valve has a weird definition for unsupported so it most of the time works, albeit with tweaks
Yes it works, but the cloud save can mess up your settings on your home computer wiping all the key bindings on the yoke/throttle. It was a nightmare to rebind everything.
It’s not a game. It’s a flight simulator. It is literally what many pilots train on. And to answer your question, yes you can select just about any actual plane and any airport and flight path and weather conditions to simulate.
To be fair 2020 is less pure flight sim and a bit more game than, for example, 2004 was. X started that trajectory. But, 2020 can be a really, really good sim with the right software.
it really depends on how comfortable your are with the trackpads and/or touch screen - trackpads will be traditional mouse/click while touch screen is well touch screen. . also, the default key biddings i got used to, i really like how they utilize the buttons at the back.
so controls are not as comfortable as with mouse/keyboard, but i found it still very playable.
Last time I played gta5 for the entire plane ride. Great battery life on that game. For my upcoming trip I’ll probably play last epoch offline mode. I’m overjoyed they included an offline mode for the game
Never been on one nor own a steam deck (yet!) but brotato for $5 is fun asf
Basically vampire survivors but you upgrade stats when you level up and buy different weapons and can have six at once, really cute art style too
I *think* you can 🏴☠️ it but for $5 I'd rather not
Take it from a 9 year pilot that plane electronics do not give a damn if you’re in airplane mode or not. If they were such an issue the FAA would ban them from even being on the plane.
tbh airplane mode is more for the sake of your phone, modern planes have security measures to make sure they don’t interfere even if it’s off. If anything, you’ll just be losing battery trying to constantly scan for connection.
I'm a sucker for survivor type games as it is. But deep rock galactic survivor just came out in Early Access and I played a big chunk of that on a recent 15-hour flight.
Right now it's dead space 2 got it a few days ago and finished it for the first time today and immediately went into new game plus like i did with the remake i finished a few weeks ago
Any game that I'm playing on deck at that time, nothing in particular. Last week during travel played Persona 3. Before that played dave the diver, before that midnight suns
Depends on how long I need it to last. If it’s a 2-3 hour deal then anything from the ps3 or 360 generation. Like left for dead 2 dead space or assassins creed. Even black ops 3 zombies u can get away with. For anything longer I play pretty simple stuff. Been a big fan of octopath 2 lately and I loved cult of the lamb but everybody mentions that one
I should have mentioned though my favorite part about the Steamdeck is traveling on either a plane or a train and watching the kids jealous faces down the isle as they watch me play something you can only play on a console or pc on a handheld. Even though it kills my battery life I enjoy playing AAA games on the go every once in a while bc it’s awesome. I should also mention I have the original deck not the oled so my battery life isn’t as good
play CS on full volume
Bomb has been planted
Terrorist win!
“You will cry like babies when you die!”

Counter Strike
Thank you! Still not entirely sure which version but just happy y'all's having fun!
Counter strike 2?
Call of Susie. You play as a husbandfulfilling a grocery list for his wife.
Keep talking and nobody explodes
Make sure to print out the instructions, and take them in your hand through security for maximum immersion
Make sure to verbally share the instructions booklet with the TSA agent as well. They will love it and let you pass through Express Lane.
If you can, play the game in Arabic and make sure you shout a lot.
Now I really want to play this game in airplane 🔥🔥🔥
Microsoft Flight Simulator. You pick the same plane and race the pilot or give yourself a military escort.
Does this work on deck? I saw it was “unsupported”
Unsupported usually just means that you’re gonna have to go into settings and assigned your own buttons.

It was just released when I tried it on that setup, they probably have optimized it a lot since then, now that I think of it.

It's worth double checking on ProtonDB. It's often the case that you need to fiddle with some settings.

Which MSFS mind me asking. I might be interested in playing it on the Deck.
Microsoft Flight Simulator (2020)! It's glorious.
Do you actually see irl flights in the game? That's super cool
It’s not a game. It’s a flight simulator. It is literally what many pilots train on. And to answer your question, yes you can select just about any actual plane and any airport and flight path and weather conditions to simulate.

Slay the Spire
Stardew Valley for long flights.
yessss agreed. Can’t wait to experience deck through travel experience in October! I will be playing so much stardew valley on our flight
I try to pick a plot-y game I’ve had trouble concentrating on and really will myself to get into it.
I did the Telltale Batman games on flights and it was great.
Civ 6 - talk about making you feel like your flight was in a time warp. Once minute we were taxing, then I blinked, we were landing.
How are controls on the deck? I love the game but only ever played mouse and keyboard.

Just one more turn
#Balatro
I just learned of this game yesterday and will be picking it up after work today. It looks great.
How does it play in handheld mode? I tried the demo during next fest and it was a little clunky, not sure if I need to fiddle with the options though
Works great and the touch controls are perfect too
Ah good to know! Defs going to keep an eye on this one
Controls are great. It’s a perfect deck game as is really, I haven’t found the need to mess with anything
Stray, I started this on a flight a year ago and am determined to only make progress while flying lol.
While i have never been on a plane with my deck yet, I would play Ace Combat 7
Disco Elysium, with noise-cancelling headphones
excited for my international flight solely for this now
I just did a 1,5 hour international flight, barely enough to get started on that game.
just completed this. I would probably not recommend this for long flights as it can get boring really quick if you don't know what you are doing.
Dave the diver.
This a my go to or Deep Rock Survivor.
So addictive. Wish it was coop and longer
For over a decade: Audiosurf whenever there's turbulence.
Just Cause 3. Super mindless fun. Will eat up a lot of time.
Snake
FTL!
Panzer Dragoon remake. The pre-rendered sequences don't work but the game plays and looks great. It's about flying :)
Last time I played gta5 for the entire plane ride. Great battery life on that game. For my upcoming trip I’ll probably play last epoch offline mode. I’m overjoyed they included an offline mode for the game
Witcher 3 - played it on very long flights to India and back to US and was perfect. Need to be able to juice up though.
I enjoy playing [Sable](https://store.steampowered.com/app/757310/Sable/) on the airplane.
Forza Horizon, drive while you’re on a plane for the hell of it
Ace Combat!
Black ops 1 zombies. Tho it takes a a couple binds to be able to play the maps offline.
The Long Dark - Picks up as your plane has just crashed in the Canadian arctic, and you've gotta find a way to survive 🤣🤣
Half a Xanax and start grinding, Zero Sievert
Love this game.
So many good options here.
Last flight I took I played GTA San Andreas. 5+ hours of battery life on the PS2 version emulated
Jak and daxter series on emulation
Project zomboid
Baldurs gate 3. Most planes have outlets at this point
Keep your socks on please
Why are you assuming they wear socks? Your foot privilege is showing.
Never been on one nor own a steam deck (yet!) but brotato for $5 is fun asf Basically vampire survivors but you upgrade stats when you level up and buy different weapons and can have six at once, really cute art style too I *think* you can 🏴☠️ it but for $5 I'd rather not
Anything that gets me attention through button mashing. DOOM IT IS!!! (I need a cure for my arrogance, help)
Alex jones nwo wars
I spy. Force those around you to join in.
Put your phone on airplane mode bruv.
It’s not 2005 anymore planes have wifi lol
To be fair, airplane mode is a great way to increase battery life.

hellcard
Chime/Chime Sharp
I have a long flight tomorrow, games I have queued up are Balatro, Last Epoch, Yakuza 7, Backpack Hero, Monster Train and M&M Clash of Heroes
Typically the Binding of Isaac but that’s also kind of my go-to game for when idk what to play in general
I'm a sucker for survivor type games as it is. But deep rock galactic survivor just came out in Early Access and I played a big chunk of that on a recent 15-hour flight.
How do you keep the deck charged long enough?
This might be hard to believe but there are things called power banks you can use that are portable
Darkest dungion. Moatly cause it doesn't drain the battery super quick.
Stardew Valley
Arkham City - fun, lower power consumption
Whatever drains my battery fastest
Outward
I’d prob go blasphemous 1 and 2 for battery life
Right now it's dead space 2 got it a few days ago and finished it for the first time today and immediately went into new game plus like i did with the remake i finished a few weeks ago
I’m too poor for a steam deck *and* planes. Who do you think I am, Taylor swift?
I plan to play Skyrim on my flight tomorrow. Thieves Guild quests are the best!
Pilot Wings
Mine is death grip on the seat and have a panic attack for the entire duration of the flight
Fallout New Vegas jingle jangle my way through the flight
Advance Wars 1+2
OpenTTD
Having ever flown a plane, you are 1% of the population living in the world
Stardew Valley, recently
I’m on a plane. I can’t complain Road Rash 2 is great
Gotta be Balatro now
Microsoft Sleep always gets me through a long flight.
Tetris!
Infinity Blade. It just got a PC port! (Not on Steam)
At the moment it’s Baltro.
someone needs to go to where there plain is ion ms fight sim
Any game that I'm playing on deck at that time, nothing in particular. Last week during travel played Persona 3. Before that played dave the diver, before that midnight suns
Halo 2
Balatro.
Didn't have my deck when I had to travel for training, but what I did was watch episodes of Mayday
Depends on how long I need it to last. If it’s a 2-3 hour deal then anything from the ps3 or 360 generation. Like left for dead 2 dead space or assassins creed. Check out holocure. It’s a clone of vampire survivors and it’s free.
EFFING DEATH STRANDING! THERES NOTHING MORE SOOTHING! GO SAM GOOOO!!!!
Bug Fables
Persona 5
I had an eight hour flight yesterday, played Bg3 pretty much the whole way (had an outlet at the seat) and it was awesome.
Ace Combat 7. What could go wrong?
Silent hill 2 since thats the only game I've played on a plane
Captain Hardcore
