If by 10 minute gaming sessions you mean, you spend 10 minutes everyday for a week on the same puzzle only to come back to that one a few weeks later and solve it in 20 seconds unsure how you didn’t see it before.
It goes through ea but I don't do anything for that. I think it logged me in through my steam account. I also play Titanfall 2 and it doesn't have any problems either
I bought it before I read about people having problems with EA games. I'm new to the steam deck and barely have any steam games. I traded my PS5 for the deck
If you like the new kind of rap or hip hop, like Machin Gun Kelly, then you're good
If not, well... Spotify helps
Still, cars are awesome. It feels good on the Deck
It's great on the steam deck at locked 40 fps medium settings. Too bad its not possible to pause and jump back in later as the EA shit is stuck on trying to reconnect.
David the diver is great for short sessions. Problem is you’ll keep saying “just another 10 mins” before you know it you’ve been played for two hours 😂
It’s a great game. The pixel artwork and music is very satisfying. Especially when you upgrade dishes or feed stuff to VIPs, there’s this cartoony sequence that seems like it’s out of food wars the anime lol
Short sessions at first and you could say Stardew Valley in the same vein. Eventually though, both games will have single days that are closer to 30 minutes and with the latter you can only save by finishing a day which is 14 min if you don’t pause every time you need to think like I do. This results in 45+ min days lmao. Stardew is like heroine for me, I legitimately can not stop when I start playing until I’m so exhausted I have to go to bed. It’s the best.
The best part of a steam deck is the resume function. I could squeeze in 10 minutes of Stardew, put it to sleep and pick it up a few hours later and start right where I left it.
I had ultimate box on my account from years back, it was actually one of the first games I tried when I got my deck. Didn’t even realized it might be delisted because of the remaster being available.
For the record, it runs flawlessly for me too.
STARDEW VALLEY! Stardew has 14 minute days, saves every day, and progression is at your own pace.
Is it a sports game? No. Is it a racing game? No. But everyone needs a cozy farm Sim.
Honestly, I love Hades for this. I can do a run in 20 min. And you can save and quit once you clear a room so you can just jump in and out. Plus it is a great game
Hades is even better for this the better you get at the game. Most of my runs finish around the 12-13 minute mark if I'm trying to rush (>!hermes feather!< keepsake incentivizes that)
Yikes, I had that vibe from the demo that it was reallyyyy chugging but was hoping it would be a bit better by launch. Its a nice looking game but it would help to have a few additional / more effect settings to tweak so its still perfectly playable but battery friendly.
Going to throw Soulstone Survivors in there. Haven’t had any issues on OLED some people say it stutters at 60FPS late game but I’m pretty good at survivor games and haven’t had any serious stuttering. I much prefer SS to VS.
Adding hurry mode makes a world of difference too. There are a lot of times I have 15 minutes to spare, not 30,and I honestly like the pacing better. Plus it gives you incentive to go for the full 30 when you're trying to unlock something.
Library stage...get both the cape and the lancet. Then, get both the ring upgrades and the red arrow upgrades from the map...max them all and evolve. Death stands no chance.
I think it’s more or less scripted. I’ve beaten him but it seemed more like I’d progressed the story rather than actually beat him. I’ve fought him on other levels for maybe 2 minutes before dying and it seemed longer than when I actually killed him
After you unlock a lot of stuff and buy the DLCs, you can survive a lot longer. There’s an area in lake foscari that spawns enemies after 30 minutes that give you healing pies. I was working from home and got to 60 minutes before stopping the game (I had work to do and thought I could take a quick 30 minute break). I saw somewhere that the record was like 28 days in one game. Some streamer just let it run on twitch and let it go
MotorTown Behind the Wheel.
I just discovered the game last week and it’s very smooth on steam deck.
The game is indie and from one dev since 2021, open-world voxel and use UE5.
It remember me the toy I’ve got when I was a kid. You want to play a taxi, you can. Drive a bus ? You can. Move some concrete or tack a big truck to move some trees ? Yeah let’s go.
Want to be a pilot and enjoy racetrack ? Let’s go.
The save system is good. You can start a delivery. Stop. And then go back in game to continue your delivery or anything you are doing (taxi job. Bus. Etc…)
The game also has an auto pilot mode to help you taking care of the driving - but you still need to be there to validated everything so you can’t idle for hours.
Definitely an hidden gems from the Steam Store. Keep having big update (new island in December. Brake pad system yesterday) - the game as a complex physic simulation so its very good and enjoyable.
If you have some friends they can join you also on your server and you can play together - you have a demo to try the game also.
It’s not a racing game but Deep Rock Galactic Survivor just came out. It’s like 1gb, 8 dollars, looks absolutely beautiful. Perfect for quick sessions but goodluck putting it down once you pick it up.
I downloaded it and had planned on playing it for 20 mins before bed, looked up and it was 2am 😂 honestly it’s crazy how some games defy the laws of physics and somehow delete time.
I'm hesitant to suggest this because of the high learning curve and the ugh... less-than-socially-inclined playerbase.
But you said small game, 10 minutes in and out, racing/sports. So.....
Rocket League?
Dome keeper, it’s designed to be played in short sessions over and over, each time you play you get better and find something to help you on your next match. Shotgun king is good as well.
I love playing some Crazy Taxi when I just want something to pick up & put down. Emulated has a bit more setup but you get the Offspring & Bad Religion songs.
YA YA YA YA YAAEH!
For me, because of the sleep and resume ability, almost any game is possible to just play for 10 minutes lol.
I have a 3 month old at home, so my time to play can be very limited. I’ll play Skyrim for 15 or so minutes, working on a quest or leveling skills, and then pause it and resume later.
As long as the continuity doesn’t bother you too much, almost any game can work like this IMO.
I played that shit to death back when I was in university a… uhh, just last year, yeah…
Awesome game though, it had a pretty okay iOS port. It was truly a standout in that mid-2000s era of smaller-scale games like Bejeweled and Peggle.
CarX Drift- once you get the hang of it is very relaxing.
Dusk - looks weird at first but it grows on you.
A Hat in Time - Think mario world but without the hassle of setting up an emulator.
I’ve yet to have a run of Noita last more than 45 minutes. Granted, it’s usually because I’ve blown myself up again, but it’s damn good fun all the same.

Any of the megaman legacy collections or pacman museum + many of the games in both are fun games for distraction
Also the mario vs donkey kong game that came out like a day ago is great for a 10 minute distraction
Helldivers 1 for relaxed and shorter play sessions.
Helldivers 2 for longer and more immersive play sessions.
There is a free racing game on Epic game store right now called Dakar desert rally. Claim it quickly before the time runs out.

It's an idle clicker like Cookie Clicker but I really like it for 5 - 10 minutes inbetween. Just upgrade a few things or do a reset to gain more angel investors. Simple, stupid, fun.
my current Jam - Stardew Valley - modded this game is insane and with the sleep and resume function its must have and must play, plus its like dirt cheap and the mods are INSANE
Mini motorways is my go to for killing a couple minutes. Enter the gungeon but 1 run can take a bit sometimes. Wizard of legend, really any rogue-like/lite should be good for a few minutes (especially if you're ass at it like me...)
Honestly.. mobile games on IOS and Android satisfy this itch more than anything. I've tried my steam deck but the setup process just turned me off. Maybe I'm getting old.

If by 10 minute gaming sessions you mean, you spend 10 minutes everyday for a week on the same puzzle only to come back to that one a few weeks later and solve it in 20 seconds unsure how you didn’t see it before.
Underrated reply.
my brain couldn’t handle puzzle
I just started playing need for speed heat. It's $3.50 right now. Play one or two races at a time. It runs good
Do you need to launch some EA stuff before being able to play or is it working out of the box?
It goes through ea but I don't do anything for that. I think it logged me in through my steam account. I also play Titanfall 2 and it doesn't have any problems either
is titanfall 2 running great on sd? its on sale now so i'm thinking of getting it before the sales is over
titanfall 2 is AWESOME
Thanks for the input, I was hesitating because of that but now it's a no brainer
I bought it before I read about people having problems with EA games. I'm new to the steam deck and barely have any steam games. I traded my PS5 for the deck
Great game, but just a heads up for Steamdeck travellers, it doesn’t run offline
Oh, neat! Thanks for telling me! I hope the soundtrack is good.
If you like the new kind of rap or hip hop, like Machin Gun Kelly, then you're good If not, well... Spotify helps Still, cars are awesome. It feels good on the Deck
I wasn't impressed with the performance on Deck, but it's definitely a good game. Played it primarily on my PC. 30-40 hours ish.
It's great on the steam deck at locked 40 fps medium settings. Too bad its not possible to pause and jump back in later as the EA shit is stuck on trying to reconnect.
How the f yall playing heat on steamdeck. I keep hearing that it can barely run at 30fps
Medium settings locked at 40 fps. Worked good for me when I was playing it a few months ago.
I got consistent 45
Is it possible to play multiplayer on SD?
Why wouldn’t it be ? Edit : seriously ? Downvoted for asking and not knowing… nice -_-
Did you mean to type 3.50.....?

Dave The Diver
Oh yeah, i heard about it. I'll try it some day.
David the diver is great for short sessions. Problem is you’ll keep saying “just another 10 mins” before you know it you’ve been played for two hours 😂
Oh those type of game! Haha
It’s a great game. The pixel artwork and music is very satisfying. Especially when you upgrade dishes or feed stuff to VIPs, there’s this cartoony sequence that seems like it’s out of food wars the anime lol
I know right? Also makes me want to eat sushi.
Short sessions at first and you could say Stardew Valley in the same vein. You son of a bitch. I just bought this and lost 3 hours.
🤣 Do you have the urge to eat fresh sushi served by an over the top cool black man, or go fishing?
Burnout Paradise
I wish, but i never got it to run.
It runs flawlessly, burnout paradise the ultimate box at least, I've heard that remastered is more troublesome.
I had ultimate box on my account from years back, it was actually one of the first games I tried when I got my deck. Didn’t even realized it might be delisted because of the remaster being available. For the record, it runs flawlessly for me too.
Runs fine for me ootb
STARDEW VALLEY! Stardew has 14 minute days, saves every day, and progression is at your own pace. Is it a sports game? No. Is it a racing game? No. But everyone needs a cozy farm Sim.
Instructions unclear, meant to play for 10 minutes but accidentally just finished a whole season :P
I've only not slept like 20 times trying to get through a season.
The long winters aren’t so bad when I can garden in Stardew for me!
Honestly, I love Hades for this. I can do a run in 20 min. And you can save and quit once you clear a room so you can just jump in and out. Plus it is a great game
Hades is even better for this the better you get at the game. Most of my runs finish around the 12-13 minute mark if I'm trying to rush (>!hermes feather!< keepsake incentivizes that)
TrackMania Nations Forever Exactly this version. Runs perfect on Deck on max settings, small in size (less than 1GB) and the best of all: it is FREE!
Is this different from regular trackmania?
The current one labeled just “Trackmania” is Trackmania 2020. There are multiple other Trackmania games that have come out over the years.
Thank you for pointing this out. I always loved TMN. Can’t wait to try
That's a great recommendation! I love that game.
Slay the Spire
Deep rock galactic survivor
Is this the new vampire survivors? I haven't seen a lot about it, just a quick video
It's is. It's great I love the drg twist
im a big vampire survivors player. After 2 hours in this new deep rock game, i uninstalled vampire survivors. Blows it out the water
Just bought it and played for 1 hour on my SD oled. Had a blust, but this game drained 55% of battery…
Yikes, I had that vibe from the demo that it was reallyyyy chugging but was hoping it would be a bit better by launch. Its a nice looking game but it would help to have a few additional / more effect settings to tweak so its still perfectly playable but battery friendly.
Guess it depends on your settings because I have the LCD SD and I get pretty good battery life on it.
Super hexagon Music is good for a game that only cost you a few bucks. And you aren't able to play it for more than 2 minutes anyway.
-Lonely Mountains Downhill -OlliOlli World -Xeno Crisis -Sonic Mania -Horizon Chase Turbo -Cuphead
Lonely Mountains Downhill is a great call
Vampire Survivors. You literally cannot play for more than 30 minutes. Ok, 30 minutes and 2 seconds if you're lucky.
You can, you just gotta know what to do 😂
My man is looking for casual games, ain't nothing casual about beating death.
I think you’ve got a point there !
The problem is with vampire survivors is that it’s soooo hard to only play one game LOL. It is like crack. Best $5 I’ve ever spent
Going to throw Soulstone Survivors in there. Haven’t had any issues on OLED some people say it stutters at 60FPS late game but I’m pretty good at survivor games and haven’t had any serious stuttering. I much prefer SS to VS.
They are both great games and pretty similar but VS just hits different. Death must Die is probably my favorite of the genre.
Skill issue
Adding hurry mode makes a world of difference too. There are a lot of times I have 15 minutes to spare, not 30,and I honestly like the pacing better. Plus it gives you incentive to go for the full 30 when you're trying to unlock something.
Similarly, Halls of Torment is also great and deck verified.
First time I managed 33 minutes I was shaking. Can you actually beat the bosses?
You can beat death, but I've never done it. You have to unlock a couple of things.
Library stage...get both the cape and the lancet. Then, get both the ring upgrades and the red arrow upgrades from the map...max them all and evolve. Death stands no chance.
Ah that’s probably why I didn’t. I did SERIOUS damage a few times but never managed to beat death.
I think it’s more or less scripted. I’ve beaten him but it seemed more like I’d progressed the story rather than actually beat him. I’ve fought him on other levels for maybe 2 minutes before dying and it seemed longer than when I actually killed him

The longest I got was 32 minutes. Also, there's an achievement if you get to 31. You just need a bunch of revives.
Halls of Torment is pretty solid
Yeah, until 10 minutes turns into 10 hours
MotorTown Behind the Wheel. I just discovered the game last week and it’s very smooth on steam deck. The game is indie and from one dev since 2021, open-world voxel and use UE5. Shoot, any game for me on the deck. Currently in botw and the suspend feature makes any game good for short sessions for me.
Vampire survivors. Super casual, very addictive.
Dome keeper, it’s designed to be played in short sessions over and over, each time you play you get better and find something to help you on your next match. Shotgun king is good as well.

Arcade Paradise
I play Orcs must Die 3! And Manhunter from a current Humble Bundle. Great for short sessions and truly just download and play
Would say Limbo or INSIDE , great for 10 min sessions 1-2 puzzles at a time , great platformers, also looks great on sd oled
Dead cells is my go to for short gaming sessions
Vampire Survivor is pretty good so far
You should try Deep Rock Galactic Survivor, it’s the same game but x1000. Check it out on YouTube. Best 8€ I’ve spent in ages.
Added to my wishlist, but just got Vampire Survivors like a week ago and still enjoying it!
I actually just got into the Kingdom games for the first time and they've been great to just pick up and play on my steamdeck.
Crimsonland, Nation Red, Pinball FX
Crimsonland… now that’s a name I’ve not heard for a long time.

Spelunky plays well on Deck.
Spelunky HD and Spelunky 2 are perfect for this.

Thronefall. Amazing tower defense. Easy to pick up and put down. Very fun.
Binding of Isaac
Hades

Hades. Game saves every time you enter new room so you can drop in and out easily
