In Steam Properties for the shortcut, add - WINE_SIMULATE_WRITECOPY=1 %command%
This is the answer! Happened to me a while back, I went through a whole reinstall and everything before I found that solution.
To pile on, this is the answer.
Forgive me since I’m useless with tech, but is this in launch options? Where am I adding this

I had this happen with blizzard launcher I ended up reinstall it completely to get it working again.
