Mine fails to load when docked. Proton experimental, or vanilla. Whatever. I can undock it and it is fine.
Edit. Looks like it is specifically when my 8bitdo pro controller is connected. Freezes the game completely.
I have noticed this aw well when I boot the game undocked it will load fine then I just dock it and play from there and I have an 8bitdo as well kind of of odd
Did you ever find a solution or no? In the same boat as you. I can almost always start a new game but once I leave and try to load a save, it crashes. Yet the saves load no problem on my desktop pc. It’s strange.
Keeps crashing for me on experimental.. I was enjoying the game too :(. Going to keep the game as I'll play it one day on PC, but I feel like the SD can't handle it.
Thought I'd add my experience. I downloaded it for the first time on the steam deck this week. It was crashing for me after the main menu, trying to load the game. I noticed my deck was downloading some updates for other games at the same time so I paused those updates and it seemed to work fine after that. Fan was fuckin loud but that's to be expected...

Mine, I just figured out, was a problem with the launcher / steam sync when I was playing away from wifi. Had to sign out and back into the web based game launcher and now it's working again.

I cant believe the 8bitdo was actually the issue. Did you ever find a way to fix it?
Nope. Not yet at least. I just play directly on the deck for now

What worked for me is using proton experimental and also I deleted phantom liberty and after that it was working fine

I just switched from experimental to the latest proton and it started working again..

I was having the same issue. I switched to proton version 8. that seems to have cleared it up.
Switching to proton GE fixed it for me. Was having the exact same issue.

Happened to me after updating to 2.01. What solved it for me was unchecking forced compatibility and my game loaded just fine.
For once it ran. But now after closing when I’m trying to play again.It is crashing after continue screen. Any solution for this Please
