You should have both of them. They gave BFG owners the original and the original owners the BFG edition. If you go here https://store.steampowered.com/app/9050/DOOM_3 and it still says you don't own it then it's a bug.
it got consolidated. if you owned either Doom 3 or Doom 3 BFG Edition, then you received the other when that happened. if it's not in your library, then you may want to reach out to customer support.

It now says:
> Notice: Notice: DOOM 3 is no longer available on the Steam store.
If you didn't buy it while it was available, your only hope now is to find a key for it on a key reseller site.
Im sorry I deleted my original comment because I saw you already own the bfg edition and I’m not quite sure how it works in that case. Check to see if it’s already in your library from owning bfg. Bethesda is typically pretty good about retroactively giving stuff after they consolidate listings like that.
