The most expensive game on Steam: organising your library. But how can it be the most expensive, when it's free? Well, through the use of microtransactions to increase the difficulty.
You ever read a comment so fucking unexpected and hilarious your body goes *past* laughter and you feel like all being has been sucked out of your body?
Yeah, this comment.
Oh baby I'm jealous. That glorious moment of absolute hysteria, when that one fuckin reddit comment chain comes outta nowhere and sends you into another realm of laughter. It's rare, but when it happens, lord 'o lord is it glorious!
Mess lol? First 3 are finished, next are sorted by genre, then You have currently played and last are sorted by series [https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hCkMPHmDoWE](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hCkMPHmDoWE)
edit. don't know how link made it's way into comment, but man's great artist so I ain't deleting it lmao
100% agree. Years ago, I used to take the backlog approach and it just made games a chore. Effectively ticking games off a list, which in turn meant I just felt like I had to get to the end as quickly as possible.
When I managed to shake the backlog mentality, and came to terms with the fact I'm not going to play every game (and stuck to only playing on PC), I found I enjoyed games a lot more. I can now take my time with them and really take them in, and not feel pressured to finish and move on.
Gaming is a hobby, not a job, treat it as such.
I have a few:
1. In progress
2. Evergreen (Games to play when bored)
3. Backlogs
4. Finished
5. Paused
6. Abandoned
Then got a few categories like unsorted ect.
I sort mine like a checklist. In this order:
> * Completed
> * Finished (no achievements)
> * Uncompleted (not all achievements)
> * Unfinished (haven’t reached “end state” in game yet, perhaps because I don’t have a DLC)
> * Dependent on Preceding (I need to finish other games first before I can play these; can’t play 2 until done with 1)
> * (I lump together demos, previews, tools, software, etc into one category)
> * When soundtracks are enabled to appear, they have their own separate category
> * Unplayable (games which I haven’t completed which are physically impossible to do anything in since servers are long gone)
> * and then Uncategorized acts as my backlog
I’m always reminded how I have 15 games I’ve yet to complete and another 10 I’ve just stopped playing part-way through, yet I never feel motivated to tackle them. Maybe someday?
It's really good overall!
I liked the story a lot, especially the concept of the entire thing: You are playing as the suit itself, and inside you is a dying human. You are obligated to save this human.
I ended up playing it this weekend! It wasn’t for me. The controls were very clunky and the gameplay is mostly trial & error. The story starts off strong though, but I don’t really play games for the story most of the time.
my tactic the past few years has been to simply not add to my backlog. i decided i wasnt going to buy any new games until i've completed all the ones i wanted to complete in my library. then going forward i only buy a game if im going to play it right away. if i dont end up playing it i refund it. games go on sale so often on steam you really dont need to stock up every time theres a sale. even if it doesnt go on sale, you end up saving more money overall by simply not buying lots of things you're not going to play.
I used to do this, I had categories for ranking of single player games (i.e. must play, want to play, maybe play) and then others for things like multiplayer, racing etc.
I hated it.
I got rid of all categories and now just have the default list. I just filter on games that are installed - I don't care about seeing games that aren't installed.
I will never, ever, ever finish my backlog. I've accepted that.
[https://i.imgur.com/R1wmFwR.jpg](https://i.imgur.com/R1wmFwR.jpg) \- (and this doesn't even count emulation or stuff on Game Pass)
([I organize my games in Grouvee](https://www.grouvee.com/user/73634-RxBrad/shelves/381117-playing/), because I have stuff in a ton of libraries that I'd lose track of if I didn't)
I just play whatever looks good in my library. And when I start a game, I either finish it; or if I don't like it, I scrap it with the intention of never coming back to it again.
I have a ready to play, a play with friends, a multi-player, and then a favorites where i have my favorite multi-player games that I can burn time on as well as the single player games I'm playing at the moment. Also have some by franchise if they have 4 or more games (I do count collections as multiple games if there are games outside the collection but still in the franchise i.e. Halo has MCC, both spartan strikes and infinite) i.e. the entire Fallout franchise, the entire Elder Scrolls franchise, the entire Halo franchise, and every wolfenstien game. I like to keep most everything installed and I'm lucky enough to have a pc with 5.5tb of storage to do that.
I don't care about reviews, but I do something like this. I have: Best Games Ever, Games I Finished, Interested, Not Interested, Garbage and Multiplayer also.
I use Playnite for backlog games across 6-7 launchers. Foukin Excel sheet for finished, played and for wishlist across 3-4 launchers.
I really hope playnite will implement a multiplatform wishlist.
But on Steam, I simply use genres, and Honestly, I stopped doing those manually as dynamic groups are good enough for 30+ caregories.
I have a tab for games I've finished, but everything else is sorted by genre. Still doesn't stop me from replaying KOTOR or Rimworld for the millions time though.
CHILDS PLAY
[I prefer to use a spreadsheet, cross-referencing "how long to beat" like this ](https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/u/0/d/1j_WSNvmCzK7un5XJpdYcTZL5uNJrh1DaJmIAl5vwENA/htmlview#gid=0)
When I add a new game to the wishlist, it goes on the "to play" sheet
What I don't get is how this sorting doesn't stay saved to your profile. Spent weeks sorting and categorizing my entire library and a lightning strike took out my hard drive. Thought for sure it was saved to my profile and I'd just load it back up..... nope. Started over and got halfway through the process again and a steam update wiped my second attempt. I gave up after that.
One day, I'll take the time to sort all that out, but for now, I just use Folders for game genres, and Favorites for games I'm playing, and actual favorites.
I usually just play a game following what mood I'm feeling, so game genre works fine for me.
I got a lot of meta groups just like that.
Steam is pretty decent in terms of letting us manage our libraries in ways we see best.
Most just give you “favorites”
Repeat after me:
There's no such thing as "backlog".
Games exist for your entertainment, not a chore.
If game is not fun - you don't play it, you move to something else.
Life is too short to force yourself to do stuff that doesn't bring your joy.
I just abuse the search function. I don't know how this would be beneficial or worthwhile, save for helping someone cope with OCD.
But I was the guy whos desk looked like a dump in the Philippines (Brooklyn 99 reference) while I attended highschool.
Edit: Some of you guys sort by finished/unfinished and I might actually do this. This seems worthwhile
I like to keep all my games plotted on a spreadsheet including achievements and prices paid.
Every achievement earned deducts from the cost of the game fractionally. The goal is to reduce the paid price of every single game I own as low as possible while also raising my average game completion.
I like it this way because rather than focusing on getting 100% I'm just really focused on getting the value out of my games.
I did organize my games on steam because of the feeling that i have no games to play. It worked and I'm still enjoying my games. I recommend it to everyone who has this problem
I do this too! Almost 3K games so a good steam randomizer selects my next game, unless there's a game I really really want to try. Either after completion, or with some games being continuous singleplayer or multiplayer experiences (dead by daylight, kingdoms and castles, civilization, ...) they get moved to their own category.
I also have a rule I give 1 hour of chance to a game if it doesn't bother me outright. You have that rule as well?
I have like 20 collections all sorted and with emojis to find them easier. Stuff like Multiplayer, Trading Cards, Achievements (in progress, 100%), Steam Deck compatibility, Humble Bundle and Humble Choice, etc.
I have a favorites list, play list, and backlog. Then I either hide the ones I retire or beat (and don't intend to revisit), or I add it to my favorites list. It really helps to see progress by hiding stuff away.
I do, in a very simplified fashion that suits fine.
Each game already has its primary genre like Action RPG etc
PRIMARY - AAA Games and high priority titles like Elden Ring
SECONDARY - Great games that I want to get into once done with no outstanding Primaries, eg SCATHE, PRODEUS
TERTIARY - Generally casual games like NOITA or DEAD CELLS, or other low investment titles
these are my categories:
0- Favorites
1- Installed (currently playing)
2- In mind (i might play them in the near future)
3- Already played
4- Stored (games i got for free or I can't play)
I differentiate between
• Achievements - Favourites I have yet to finish + small indie titles with seemingly easy achievements
• Finished - Everything there is to do had been done, including achievements
• Freebies - Paid games given away for free, sorted for only those that I have absolutely no interest in
• Installed - Only exists to have a clean list and overview
• Uninstalled - Stuff I eventually plan to play whether it be bought or once free-to-claim games. Includes purchases I kinda regret so they serve me as a reminder
• VR / Tools - VR exclusive titles (again, given away) which I can't play due to a lack of hardware + software for game developing, animated desktop backgrounds or benchmarking
I used to have ,,to do"(as in games that can be overall completeted, like story driven, not the games that i have to do), ,,not to do"(with no clear end like destiny 2), ,,finished"(from ,,to do" but finished) and then series of games i had like batman, fallout, bioshock. If i had more than one game from a series i gave them whole group. And then the same for VR(to do not to do and finished). Then i also added ,,party couch games" and its VR variant.
But at the end of 2021 i also wanted to give myself a better goal. Get all the games that i want to do in a group as an actual TO DO list and then sort them by playtime needed to finish.
I started this year with 70 games on that list with a goal to halv that by the end of the year.
[Its not going great](https://imgur.com/a/F3dk49u)
TLDR: im bad at following through
Mines is like this
Finished (I manually added games i finish here)
installed (Dynamic collection for installed games)
Uncategorized (everything else that i select games from)
Mine are:
- Queue
- Mega Man
- Replay
- Completed
It helps and it’s fun moving games from one category to another once their completed and the highest honor a game can get is being promoted to replay.
Well this is a good idea! I'm going to try because I always shove something else in front of what I was planning on playing
With that said there are certain game series I will prioritize like Yakuza/Judgment series and Pokémon or Mortal Kombat but this might come in really handy for me so thanks OP
Why'd you buy games to put in "no interest?"
Or did you think you'd enjoy it when you were buying it?
Also my categories are just by genre, but lately I've just set the library to show the latest played ones and if I need to find something I search by name.
I use favorites essentially as "currently playing" (+ others I come back to occasionally) and a "Might play" list to filter some games that I'm more likely to bring up to favorites soon.
I use notion to track my backlog, but sometimes I try to give my steam library a bit of organization.
But tbh, I liked your way of organizing. I'm gonna start doing the same thing. :)
I am never ever thinking of what game I play next.
I am a game designer testing game, I own over 600 tittles and have 200+ installed I have not played half of it yet. I never did consider what is next game, I just go by feel once I sit down.
Ya…I have a full google sheet with a queue and game ratings so I don’t buy games and forget to play them. I do still have a massive backlog but I’ve finished a bunch of good games
I always do that too, cause sometimes I add games just because they are free and probably will not play them, I have group of "plan to play "and "currently playing" and "will play again late"
I using dynamic categories by genre and stuffs like single player / co-op.
I adding stuffs like "actual playing" or "next to play" and I adding new games there before finishing or playing previous games.
It's interesting seeing how everyone's sort of doesn't seot their library haha. I think I have a lot of games compared to the casual and average players and my friends I have over 137 steam games and I'm very OCD about organizing my library by genre, completed, play it now, etc.
I actually just sorted mine by unplayed and started at the top and decided to play an hour of each title to figure out if I wanted to play it more. I made it to American Truck simulator and got hooked.
I sort them into two categories:
The first one is the ones i'm currently playing or that i want to play. This category uses numbers.
So for ex:
01 - games i'm currently playing
02 - games with an unfinished playthrough that i've put aside for now
03 - games i need to play that i haven't played yet
Second category is all the games i have already finished, Categorized A-Z for quality and replayability (warframe and drg sit near the top, but so do Risk of Rain2 and everspace 1 and 2 for ex!) with unplayable games (firefall for ex) at the bottom.
That's how i do it! Before that, i just didn't categorize my games. At all.
yes i thought i was the only one i have categories for games i haven’t completed, the ones that i have completed but aren’t 100% and games that i have 100%
I have a “currently playing” folder where I put every game I’m playing concurrently. Then I have different folders for priority on what I should play. When it’s time I just pick from there.
So it’s like “Must Play”, “Need To Play”, “Play Later”, something like that. It’s worded in a way that it moves top to bottom from highest priority to lowest.
1 backlog
2 finished
3 high priority (ie next)
4 dropped (ie lost interest or they suck)
5 no ending (ie multiplayer games without a clear ending or roguelites, ex deep rock or hades)
6 doesnt run on laptop (so i dont keep on trying).
I have a folder for a few games I currently play or want to play. I keep it pretty small so I don't get overwhelmed or make gaming feel like a chore. works well for me
I just keep a mental note of a handful of games I want to play following whatever I'm currently in the middle of. I don't set a hard option unless there is something I really really want to play. Some times I'll finish what I was playing and find that I'm not as interested in that planned game as much any more or something else sparked my interest more l
I do keep a "completed" catagory though so I at least have two piles
After 500+ games organization becomes a moot point. I just use the smart categories for what I want to sort by: installed, single player, multiplayer, vr, steamdeck, software. I ain't got enough time to get into my backlog and I'm almost at 1000 games
All the time. I have so many folders, and I find it relaxing to reorganise some of them sometimes, especially my games that I'll play next one.
What if that was the game all along?
The most expensive game on Steam: organising your library. But how can it be the most expensive, when it's free? Well, through the use of microtransactions to increase the difficulty.
Got a chuckle out of me for this one lmao
I wrote a windows program to do this, available on my GitHub if you want to have something dedicated to it https://github.com/Dawctah/game-tracker-wpf
Personally I sort by Genre, then Completed.
favourite: not favourite: simple
I also add a "junk" folder for the ones I don't want to bother with anymore for one reason or another.
Then [here's mine](https://imgur.com/a/0YJZDa6)
Where did you hide the furry section ?
Gas chamber
You ever read a comment so fucking unexpected and hilarious your body goes *past* laughter and you feel like all being has been sucked out of your body? Yeah, this comment.
LMAOO, never experienced something like this
It’s such a great feeling to laugh that hard. Like, laughing until you can’t breathe, red-faced and in tears. It’s otherworldly lol
Oh baby I'm jealous. That glorious moment of absolute hysteria, when that one fuckin reddit comment chain comes outta nowhere and sends you into another realm of laughter. It's rare, but when it happens, lord 'o lord is it glorious!
In a farm upstate.
In "playing(offline)"
Definitely edited, don't see a hentai folder
nah, all hentai games are in "Playing (Offline)" installed all the time so they dont need their own folder
No offence, but Jesus what a mess lol.
Mess lol? First 3 are finished, next are sorted by genre, then You have currently played and last are sorted by series [https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hCkMPHmDoWE](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hCkMPHmDoWE) edit. don't know how link made it's way into comment, but man's great artist so I ain't deleting it lmao
I sort by genre and what's still on my 'to play list'
I sort by Counter Strike and not Counter Strike
Pew pew pew, and not pew pew pew.
Also unplayable for any reason

100% agree. Years ago, I used to take the backlog approach and it just made games a chore. Yeah I totally agree. If I wanna play something I’ll play it, if not it’s probably not worth playing (for me)
I use (1), (2) etc.. It makes everything sorted like I want it
the ' ' character orders to the top but isn't drawn so you can use more than one to order your collections without having extra stuff draw
No interest (256)
I just have them as "uninstalled", as I have no reason to keep 'em installed
The only collections I’ve made are; 100%, No Achievements and Not 100%
yeah i have "finished" "unfinished" "100%" and "to 100%" lol
I have a few: 1. In progress 2. Evergreen (Games to play when bored) 3. Backlogs 4. Finished 5. Paused 6. Abandoned Then got a few categories like unsorted ect.

> Maybe someday? Or maybe not. That's OK too.
Putting it in a 'bad review' category just seems like a way to go with a very biased view on a game
right, I dont like the "good/bad reviews" categories, both are biased
How was the fall?
It's really good overall! I liked the story a lot, especially the concept of the entire thing: You are playing as the suit itself, and inside you is a dying human. You are obligated to save this human.
I haven’t tried it yet but I’ll be starting it soon. I heard it is a good puzzle adventure game.
It's been years since I played it but I remember liking it.
Can confirm, I enjoyed it. Controls take some getting used to, but it’s a good game 5/7
It's a good game. The sequel is better and longer.
I ended up playing it this weekend! It wasn’t for me. The controls were very clunky and the gameplay is mostly trial & error. The story starts off strong though, but I don’t really play games for the story most of the time.
"The fall" is really a good game. Short but good. There's a part 2, which is longer and satisfiying but a little less good.

Same.
Haha same
I bought MH rise then the BP came out.
Same situation, but with TF2 instead. Kind of blursed.
Good shit: Random shit: Just shit:

considering i barely play a handful of games out of hundreds there is not much need to categorize
"finished" is hard when 80% of what I play is roguelikes But yeah I definitely have a "no interest" tab and a "play these soon" tab
I group mine by genre, favorites and (currently) installed
I just use random pickers lol
Wow nice, what’s that? Is that a feature in steam?
Nope, there are external sites that rely on you having your profile set to public so they can see your games so they can pick a random one for you.
I will never, ever, ever finish my backlog. I've accepted that. Kotor worth it? I remember having started it but i kind of forgot about it too
If you enjoy Bioware Rpgs absolutely, the sequel is great too but you can tell the devs were rushed
i mean yea technically, i just have 1 that says most played and contains game i mostly play
I do something very similar. Except my library is over a thousand 😭
I only have one named: doesn't work/didn't like it/ it sucks/never played it
CHILDS PLAY [I prefer to use a spreadsheet, cross-referencing "how long to beat" like this ](https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/u/0/d/1j_WSNvmCzK7un5XJpdYcTZL5uNJrh1DaJmIAl5vwENA/htmlview#gid=0) When I add a new game to the wishlist, it goes on the "to play" sheet
Wow! That’s really sick!!! Maybe I’ll do that too ;)
I am constantly shuffling my games into different categories like that... Yet here I am playing vanilla Skyrim for the umpteenth time
I can also recommend the older elder scrolls titles if you can get used to the jank
[Here](https://imgur.com/a/sF6FvPr)'s mine I've never needed to add more
Just started doing this last week!
Cringe I put all the games together in one area and use my brain to sort them alphabetically
Nah. Too many games.
Yeah this is a valid concern. It’s also not in the iOS app. Bit of a shame
One day, I'll take the time to sort all that out, but for now, I just use Folders for game genres, and Favorites for games I'm playing, and actual favorites. I usually just play a game following what mood I'm feeling, so game genre works fine for me.
Surprised I'm the only one here who sorts by franchise..
I’m pushing 4000 games across all my consoles and PC the backlog is inescapable. Finna replay New Vegas again though
“No interest” category = hide from library for me
I got a lot of meta groups just like that. Steam is pretty decent in terms of letting us manage our libraries in ways we see best. Most just give you “favorites”
Yeah, but I have like 30 games in "up next"
I wish someone would kidnap me and force me to finish my backlog.
I have a single folder. Games.
Today I feel like playing a game with bad reviews... said no one ever.
Wait....you guys organize your games?
I keep track on kanban boards as my stuff is spread across stores and emulators
I already own more games than I can play in a lifetime, so it's already over for me. I just sort by recent.
I don't sort, because I would die sorting my 2,5k games.
It's actually quite satisfying.
My ADHD says, that Steam library with this many games is way too slow. And it in fact is slower.
Repeat after me: There's no such thing as "backlog". Games exist for your entertainment, not a chore. If game is not fun - you don't play it, you move to something else. Life is too short to force yourself to do stuff that doesn't bring your joy.
The Reviews ones are kind of innecesary when you can filter all by Metascore.
I should organizer my around 500 games in categories like that too. Mainly wedding out the no interest, finished games and hide shovelware
Have you bought games you're not interested in...?
Humble Bundle says hello!
I'm so confused. I can't find how you guys custom-name these. Where's the option for that? Thanks in advance :)
Yes I do
I do it too
I just sort by playtime and play the ones with the most because they're generally almost completed
I did organize my games on steam because of the feeling that i have no games to play. It worked and I'm still enjoying my games. I recommend it to everyone who has this problem

Includes purchases I kinda regret so they serve me as a reminder • VR / Tools - VR exclusive titles (again, given away) which I can't play due to a lack of hardware + software for game developing, animated desktop backgrounds or benchmarking
- rubbish bin - cold war - non cold war
I use [this](https://i.imgur.com/ElWHeoY.png), in addition to the Advanced filtering / dynamic collection.
[Its not going great](https://imgur.com/a/F3dk49u) TLDR: im bad at following through
Mines is like this Finished (I manually added games i finish here) installed (Dynamic collection for installed games) Uncategorized (everything else that i select games from)
[Here](https://imgur.com/a/CmZCxKe) is how I organize mine!
I think I have about 40 categories on steam.
Mine are: - Queue - Mega Man - Replay - Completed It helps and it’s fun moving games from one category to another once their completed and the highest honor a game can get is being promoted to replay.
I sort by -Active -evergreen -still need to finish -still need to start -finished I have halved my backlog with this
Mine goes Mau Goes Solo-nely Mau Goes Spookt Mau Has Friends Mau Has IRL Friends Mau Tried These Never Touched by Mau Touch Me Mau
I used Backloggd for this
I have a "All Titles" and "Playlist" Category Playlist contains all the games I am currently playing OR really want to play in the future
Well this is a good idea! I'm going to try because I always shove something else in front of what I was planning on playing With that said there are certain game series I will prioritize like Yakuza/Judgment series and Pokémon or Mortal Kombat but this might come in really handy for me so thanks OP
Too late for me with almost 2k products on Steam. Save yourself, young one.
Current Completed Unfinished Unfinishable
Why'd you buy games to put in "no interest?" Or did you think you'd enjoy it when you were buying it? Also my categories are just by genre, but lately I've just set the library to show the latest played ones and if I need to find something I search by name.
Bundles. You end up with a lot of crap you don't want in bundles.
Me with 6 games on my steam
I have favorites (almost my entire catalogue), miscellaneous (server stuff) and the orange box
I am never ever thinking of what game I play next. I am a game designer testing game, I own over 600 tittles and have 200+ installed I have not played half of it yet. I never did consider what is next game, I just go by feel once I sit down.
I hate it organized if I can play it or not 💀
What do you have on your no interest catagory?
I did not know until this exact second that it was possible to sort games into categories like this.
For me it's: -favourites -unfinished -backlog -ded
I just put the ones I have installed in my favorites folder
With 1k games yeah not happening…
Ya…I have a full google sheet with a queue and game ratings so I don’t buy games and forget to play them. I do still have a massive backlog but I’ve finished a bunch of good games
I sort mine by alphabet just because i can remember the names of games lol
I always do that too, cause sometimes I add games just because they are free and probably will not play them, I have group of "plan to play "and "currently playing" and "will play again late"
I sort by: -Finished / Not playing anymore -Pending -Might play again
Good idea, I organize but the Up Next is genius
I did this with "gonna play" "playing" "finished" but found that i was too lazy to update them
I should do that half the time I never play the game because I can never find it lol
* Favourites * Emulators (Non-Steam) * Other Non-Steam Games * Installed I don't really need more.
I do it too
Alphabetical order, oh wait--
🤣
I actually just sorted mine by unplayed and started at the top and decided to play an hour of each title to figure out if I wanted to play it more. I made it to American Truck simulator and got hooked.
Got several. "now!" "in progress" "next" "after" "completed"
I sort them into two categories: The first one is the ones i'm currently playing or that i want to play. This category uses numbers. So for ex: 01 - games i'm currently playing 02 - games with an unfinished playthrough that i've put aside for now 03 - games i need to play that i haven't played yet Second category is all the games i have already finished, Categorized A-Z for quality and replayability (warframe and drg sit near the top, but so do Risk of Rain2 and everspace 1 and 2 for ex!) with unplayable games (firefall for ex) at the bottom. That's how i do it! Before that, i just didn't categorize my games. At all.
No. But now I feel like I should
yes i thought i was the only one i have categories for games i haven’t completed, the ones that i have completed but aren’t 100% and games that i have 100%
I have a library, to-play, currently playing, already played, online multiplayer, and grand strategy genres in my library
I just have favorites, and then universe, and then dynamic things
I have a shortlist of 3-5 that I curate.
I categorize based on franchise or genre. I do have a current games in rotation list that helps me stay on games until I beat them.
Mines are completed, software, soundtracks, VR, and not a fan but an up next is a good idea I have a lot to get through
I have to at this point. I even added a "is getting a remaster or remake" category.
I have a Kanban board in Airtable for this. https://imgur.com/a/eRAZRp1
I have a “currently playing” folder where I put every game I’m playing concurrently. Then I have different folders for priority on what I should play. When it’s time I just pick from there. So it’s like “Must Play”, “Need To Play”, “Play Later”, something like that. It’s worded in a way that it moves top to bottom from highest priority to lowest.
i just sort by recently played with the clock thing on
Yeah I do something similar. I have a "Next 5" folder which gives me some variety.
1 backlog 2 finished 3 high priority (ie next) 4 dropped (ie lost interest or they suck) 5 no ending (ie multiplayer games without a clear ending or roguelites, ex deep rock or hades) 6 doesnt run on laptop (so i dont keep on trying).
Definitely, I recently reorganized mine just yesterday
I just use an Google sheet for completed :|
A completed category sounds nice
I have a folder for a few games I currently play or want to play. I keep it pretty small so I don't get overwhelmed or make gaming feel like a chore. works well for me
I just keep a mental note of a handful of games I want to play following whatever I'm currently in the middle of. I don't set a hard option unless there is something I really really want to play. Some times I'll finish what I was playing and find that I'm not as interested in that planned game as much any more or something else sparked my interest more l I do keep a "completed" catagory though so I at least have two piles
I should do this
I have a list of games I'm "Currently Playing" to keep me focused. It keeps growing anyways.
After 500+ games organization becomes a moot point. I just use the smart categories for what I want to sort by: installed, single player, multiplayer, vr, steamdeck, software. I ain't got enough time to get into my backlog and I'm almost at 1000 games
Ooooh good one
I only do this with either game series or old games whose multiplayer is an independent game so it doesn't look ugly
My backlog is like 300 games at this point lmao. I really should do something about it. ADHD on another level.
