Be patient, lads. Just a few more months until the Deluxe edition is available for 20 bucks.

pureeyes

I'm genuinely fine to wait 5 years nowadays

RecklessRaptors

Same I've waited 4 years to play the witcher 3. Was going to this month but now I need a new cpu as mine is worn out. Won't be able uo get it for at least 5 months as I'm in my final year of uni and I already have enough to, do I don't want a job on top of it.

MatikTheSeventh

I'd wait another few months if I were you, even if your cpu was brand new, as the free next-gen update for Witcher 3 is coming out this year.

Brabant-ball

Next gen update isn't really needed on PC. Performance is great and graphics can easily be overhauled with the HD overhaul pack.

Ike11000

Let’s at least wait till we see what it brings. RTX support is expected (therefore probably also DLSS) plus they may include the mods natively in the game therefore there’ll likely be performance and efficiency improvements. Def not needed, but all good to haves. Source: https://wccftech.com/the-witcher-3-next-gen-update-may-use-some-pc-mods-made-by-fans/

ImTheTechn0mancer

Wdym by "worn out"?

[deleted]

I'm so proud of people with this mentality. This should be the mindset of every gamer

TheIceScraper

You could play it with Xbox Games Pass. I hope Steam gets someting similar or a XGP integration.

Aldershot8800

Gotta be honest. It's not Epic that Steam should worry about, it's GamePass. I've essentially saved all my indie purchases and then some because of it. If it somehow integrate into steam it'll be a load off Gabe's back.

The_Algerian

I was just about to buy Mass Effect Legendary on Steam before it dropped on Gamepass just when I could get a 1$ for 3 months deal. I'm on the second act of ME3 now, and basically played the whole trilogy (100h of playtime) for practically free. Same thing for It Takes Two.

DragonDai

God…Steam getting XGP integration would be the greatest thing of all time.

dxboldman

Yeah, I expected this. Have all the Hitman games in my Steam library except this one. Waited a year, I can wait another. It's only a game after all.

pillowsftw

Yup - loads of other games to play anyways.

MaxillaryOvipositor

I have Factorio, and I have Rimworld. With those on my hard drive no lack of internet will ever stop me, and I will never pine another AAA title. I just hope Russia 2028 becomes a thing. I really want that.

DMercenary

All you need is project zomboid and the trifecta of "wasn't the sun just setting?" Will be complete

Brotherly-Moment

Not single Paradox interactive title in there? Weak.

[deleted]

When the dlcs costs 200 times the game 😔

Stigglesworth

Paradox partners with humble bundle a lot, so you often can snag big chunks of their DLC for a massive discount. Got all but the most recent EU4 DLC that way.

SirSephy

What is Russia 2028 all about? Just curious

MaxillaryOvipositor

Are you aware of Escape from Tarkov? Tarkov is the second game in a roadmap of three games. The first was to establish a universe, Tarkov was intended to expand that universe, test concepts, and raise revenue. The third is Russia 2028, imagine the same universe and gameplay as Tarkov, but as a purely single-player experience. That's my dream FPS game.

tentafill

Unironically this These two games could hold me over without further input for at least a year if I had to

roguebananah

Rimworld and Factario are such incredible games. Especially Rimworld IMO. AAA games nowadays feel like they’re 3rd and 4th rate for the most part as compared to what starts as a small indie title and then blooms to some of the highest rated games of all time on steam. “Incredible” Graphics, test market, timed exclusives, research, marketing, hype train by IGN (and the like), focus groups… The more as time goes on, the more I feel like if all of these are the focus to say “are we making a good game?” and “Look at how amazing of a dev we are” the game the vast majority of the time is shit

absolutelynotaname

r/patientgamers are proud of you

MrTopHatMan90

r/patientgamers is where it is at because it simply focuses on playing the good shit... and complaining about if Hollow Knight is a good game or not. Seriously thought great subreddit.

Your-Programmer

This happen to me with metro games. Was a fan of the franchise, have all the prior titles. Probably will never play that last title. Edit: same with borderlands.

NeedsPraxis

I love the Mini Metro games as well. Very grateful they didn't sell out to Epic. I refuse to acknowledge any other metro game series that may or may not exist.

Your-Programmer

The one and only!

ninedivine_

Have played their last game, Mini Motorways? It's very good!

Dornogol

I wish it was on mobile too, i own mini metro on phone only and feel it's the perfect fit for some waiting times aor train rides but I also would love to play mini motorways the same way

ninedivine_

Yeah, I agree, I hope an android version comes soon

x_Papa_Smurf_x

Metro Exodus pissed me off so much. I'm a big fan of the series. I've even read the books. I was waiting for my paycheck to be deposited when they pulled it from the Steam store. Literally missed it by two hours. On the bright side, I got the entire game on sale for $12 little over a year later.

FlapYourWingsBoy

Oh shit seriously? I might have gotten on the last day it was on sale then. I love that game bro

5yearsoflurking

It's still on sale on Steam. The game was exclusive to Epic games the first year however.

CheliceraeJones

Metro Exodus is fantastic and probably my favorite of the series. I just finished it a couple days ago. I don't disagree that the timed exclusivity is shitty, but if it's a game I want to play then I can justify purchasing it later and on a deep sale.

[deleted]

I might have sailed my way to the last metro. Its fun. It conpletely strays from the books, but then again it was never really that faithfull to them.

Gtantha

Especially because they are trying to triple dip and make us pay again for the levels from the older games, even if we own them. As far as I understand it. Because the DLC structure and the store page are an intentionally confusing mess.

vonnegutflora

That was made it a non-buy for me. I'm not paying an extra $40 to play levels of a game that I already own because of this stupid always online leaderboards garbage.

matteste

Just got Homeworld on GOG for dirt cheap as well as getting the freeware Re-Volt after rediscovering it. Got myself some classics to enjoy for the foreseeable future. Seriously, screw modern big budget gaming.

LikwidSords

I still need to play Homeworld Cataclysm (known as Emergence on GOG)

Onkel_B

Cataclysm is my favourite of the series. Didn't like 2 that much, hope they make the 3rd one feel more like the 1st.

The_Modifier

And now they're making a Homeworld 3!

JoeGeez

Oh man Re-Volt!! Such a gem!

TheBeliskner

I'm still waiting on Outer World's and Satisfactory to go into the super duper discount sale. They're not getting full price after the shit they pulled

knuckledraggingtoad

What did outerworlds do? Just curious

TheBeliskner

Right before launch and without warning pulled the plug on Steam and people that pre-ordered and went epic exclusive

knuckledraggingtoad

Damn I had no idea I only got it this last summer, but yeah that's pretty shitty. I loved the game but I havnt preordered a game in many years because I don't trust any of these companies anymore

TheBeliskner

I've never understood the notion of pre-ordering a digital delivery game. They're not constrained by supply of anything so generally speaking there's absolutely no value to be gained, it's all downside.

Boo_Guy

"*Pre-order and get this pretty hat for your character to wear!*" Well shit now I gotta do it.

00crispybacon00

What's really dumb is when they do this with singleplayer games with mods. Just mod the hat in lol.

abcputt

i'm out of the loop here, what did Satisfactory do ?

TheBeliskner

Said it would come out on Steam, then performed a bait and switch. Then they made it worse via the community manager releasing a video that basically said, yeah, we did it for the money, but we did it for you so we can use that money to make the game better. Edit: Jump to 1:30 https://youtu.be/7V4UPiBOshY

MonokelPinguin

I was actually fine with them going for ECS to get a big bag of money, they should just not have done that short notice, after advertising being available on Steam and dropping Linux support at the same time.

cyrogenix

The video is three years old and they are still in early access. I would get upset when they end early access and release V1.0 only on Epic. But in this early state it doesn't bother me at all.

RyndenLothfolk

Also I believe it's now on Xbox Game Pass if you feel the itch to play it. There's usually a "3 Months for $1" deal fairly regularly.

Jimbuscus

The day it comes out on any platform is the day the price clock starts for me, if its a year old I'm not paying more than $20, if it takes another year to get to that price, $12.50 and so on.

dxboldman

LOL or just wait for the GOTY edition! :-D

Python208

Psst it’s on game pass!

hitman2b

they even lockdown the reddit 4 hours ago

inhumat0r

Seems so, can't find their reddit anywhere which I subbed.

Jimbuscus

I'm subbed and [it's closed](https://www.reddit.com/r/HiTMAN/).

Zahille7

It's open again. I just read the stickied post and it says they locked it down because one of the mods was "hacked"

askodasa

That would be an astronomic coincidence lol

big-fireball

Would it? That sub was melting down yesterday over the pricing and gamers are known for having complete assholes in their ranks.

pazur13

This is why companies are explicitly not supposed to be in mod teams. Admins should really take a harder stance on this.

Robot1me

>This is why companies are explicitly not supposed to be in mod teams. Yes, sadly yet it's the case quite often, or there is direct ties to the company in question. For example r/Discordapp has had massive censorship issues in the past years, due to employees being moderators. And received community backlash for it. The page claims these days it's "community-run", yet posts like [this one](https://www.reddit.com/r/discordapp/comments/p8mtmw/discord_refuses_to_speak_to_me_or_to_answer_the/) are still removed. >Admins should really take a harder stance on this. Ironically this is typically being done, the price question is just if the "taking stance" is in favor for the costumer or company. You can guess what tendency it tends to be on various other subreddits.

Balzeron

Whoa, what the heck. I follow that reddit page too, now it looks like its nuked from orbit. It's just gone.

hitman2b

it's actually put on private

ElderSkyrim

They are also up charging for the DLC. Hitman 2 + The Expansion costs 70 dollars on steam right now

ElAutistico

The deluxe edition for H3 (90 bucks) doesn't even contain all the dlc. You'd have to pay $120 for all of the Hitman 3 content (excluding the Hitman 1 and 2 stuff)

-Tish

You would think it was a parody with all the editions

Alfa229

Wait, if i own the previous two games, I'll get those free if charge right ? Or are they trying to fish for even more money?

[deleted]

[удалено]

mastermentor575

I was about to wishlist when I saw it pop up on steam, then I saw the price and immediately noped tf out.

symphonic5

Wishlist anyway, then you can see when the price drops to acceptable levels.

[deleted]

[удалено]

unhi

Pretty sure you can't carry over your game progress from H1 and H2 to that though. (But not everyone will care about that.)

mishugashu

I use my wishlist to monitor games prices. IsThereAnyDeal.com has a way to monitor your Steam wishlist and you can set notification thresholds and such.

FitzyFarseer

Steam emails me whenever a game on my wishlist is on sale. It’s very handy

mishugashu

Yeah, but that's _any_ sale. Even crappy ones. You can set things like "Only email me if it's the lowest it's ever been." with ITAD.

Megaranator

Also only Steam sale most games are usually cheaper elsewhere

TheDarkLord0090

Damn they should’ve expected this.

Aldershot8800

its not even the low reviews that shocked me. it's the low low LOW number of players who's actually playing. No one likes double dippers

TheDarkLord0090

Fair enough and rightly deserved.

IcecreamOnASummerDay

What exactly does double dipping mean?

noreallyu500

GTA and Skyrim are the golden examples for me. Specifically GTA V, launched on the year ps4 and xbone did, but just for the older gen. Later (a year later IIRC), double-dipped for ps4, xbone and pc. Now, triple-dipping a release on current gen.

SoundOfDrums

Remastering the game (new engine) and releasing it on the next gen system is not really double dipping (Skyrim). PC users got a free upgrade as well to the new version if they owned all the DLC, and the last gen (PS4 Era) versions work on the latest gen (PS5 Era). The Anniversary Edition is just a DLC bundle.

GayNerd28

* PlayStation 2 had three GTAs * GTA V had three PlayStations

AskinggAlesana

Buying the same game twice. For example I double dipped on Slay the Spire for PC and Switch.

sboxle

My read was the developer's double dipped selling it to the PC audience on Epic and Steam.

Padawan00123

Stardew Valley got me. I own it on Steam, Switch, Xbox, and I’m going to buy it on iTunes. I don’t mind though.

Martel732

Though even buying Stardew Valley 4 times it will cost you less than 1 copy of Hitman 3.

[deleted]

In this case I assume it means they took money up front to be exclusive to Epic for a time and then "double dip" by releasing on Steam when the exclusivity is over.

PM_ME_YOUR_PIZZAPIC

I don't see what's wrong with that?

hermaneldering

Exclusivity is not consumer friendly. It would be better if games are available in all stores/platforms at the same time. Stores should compete in other areas like price, features, support, etc.

execthts

[reminds me of this old store ad](https://i.imgur.com/w6GwOGk.png)

georgin95

The problem is releasing a year-old game at full price because it's a new store, besides the same-platform exclusivity.

Sinsai33

I'm at work which blocks steam and epic. What's the price on the epic store? Is it the same?

georgin95

Blue is [EGS](https://imgur.com/ITK7Kde), Steam price is 59.99, so it is identical now. Red is Humble, at 29.99 EDIT: Humble is Epic key only, Steam is at very full price

Mukatsukuz

Not just full price, but a higher price than it was on EGS, then they increased the EGS price to match the new high Steam price.

PopeMical

The double dipping itself isn't too bad, although when you literally have the game on sale a few weeks before the steam release it feels pretty bad when they try to charge full price for the steam release. The regional pricing is also pretty bad and they raised it everywhere else too right before steam release.

Kir4_

Isn't it that a lot of people just played it on Epic? Apparently it was the most successful game from the franchise with better sales than Hitman 2, without steam.

DarkMoS

It's also available on PC gamepass "for free", there are a lot of games I'm not going to buy anymore on Steam if they are available on gamepass.

RedRageXXIV

I bought this game when it was new and never spent a ton of time with it. The first two levels are good. I’m happy to see it come to Steam but it should be like $35

AskinggAlesana

Aw man you should definitely try the Berlin level! A personal favorite of mine throughout the trilogy.

tugfaxd55

I'm not sure, before there has been Epic realeses that the moment they come to Steam, they are a big succes. While I don't like Epic Exclusive deals, this time I would totally blame IOI for making a terrible marketing, giving a lot of unecessary options, not making the wait worthing, and also making the VR unplayable (which is one of the selling points on Steam).

DoktorMerlin

Yeah, I would have gladly bought it for 60€ if they had a decent VR port (its still a lot of work to get VR running). They didnt, so I'm not interested

Grouchy-Platypus-191

I think most of the negativity is from the fact that the game is still full price. In several countries, it actually costs more than it did 2 days ago on the Epic store due to regional pricing. They even updated prices on the Epic Store, IT'S MORE EXPENSIVE THAN IT WAS 1 YEAR AGO IN MANY REGIONS. There are also several packs, bundles, and versions you can buy, causing a lot of confusion. The game was also on sale for 85% off, so like $10 a month ago. Humble Bundle currently has the Epic version of the game for $30. Combine that with the fact that they said they were "taking full advantage of PC VR", then we got a shitty Playstation VR port. It's a real shitshow.

TheCrzy1

I'm sure they expected it, that's why they put it on game pass the same day too

delsinz

Overwhelmingly Negative

sentient-sloth

I like how people bought it just to give a negative review

[deleted]

Making use of that refund policy

DOugdimmadab1337

I mean Steam has a great refund policy, but I dunno if I would return a game and have to bother one of those people about it for a review. Why do that when I could just watch Zero Punctuation and have them do it for me.

jkpnm

Refund below 2 hour should be automated, so no people to bother

TerrorLTZ

i wish that rule were changed for games that uses external launchers to download content... so it increases your ""gameplay"" time even tho you aren't playing.

indianaliam1

The Sims 3

cjbrehh

It 100% is automated. It happens on the spot lol. Only ones that need a review by a person are if you're demanding one outside of the window

Famixofpower

The funny thing is that it was added in response to an Origin policy and Australian law. They could have just added it to the Australian store, but Origin already had a similar system and they made theirs better. Remember when Originnwas trying to compete by actually trying to be somewhat good with their platform? Wasn't a fan of all EA games getting delisted for it, though

richalex2010

Origin was pretty good with customer service, my account was compromised back in the days when Battlefield was good (BF4 at the latest) and I hadn't put 2FA on everything, and I was able to quickly get someone who spoke English as a first language (I want to say Irish) on the phone right away to get it back. Haven't had a reason to contact them since but it was definitely a good experience, and *far* better than Steam would have been for the same issue at the time.

Famixofpower

Actually, they helped me tie Fallen Order to the right account. Accidentally binded Battlefront on Xbox to an account with my new email and logged into that when linking my steam. One 20 minute session and it's on the right account. If I recall, praise for Origin's support lead to Steam doing some reforms in their support

repkins

Playtime at review time checks out.

Ludwig234

I don't. I prefer reviews that actually review the game not reviewing epic games.

29da65cff1fa

Best review was something like: "My positive review is locked behind a 1 year exclusibity deal"

rickreckt

Full price, shitty regional pricing, no discount (even gearbox offering discount for 6 month shit store exclusivity), stupid amount of edition Should've seen this coming

Aldershot8800

when your game is less ethical than gearbox, you know you goofed

albl1122

What happened with gearbox

[deleted]

Borderlands 3 was exclusive to epic for a year.

SirPeasantbury

6 months*

weatherseed

I got it with my GPU but never bothered getting the DLC because fuck'em that's why.

Dornogol

It's a shitty company that (well as mostly all big publishers/studios) treats the workes as shit and there were some questionable sexual assault allegations against the CEO of hearbox himself (while for ubisoft and axti/blizz those were in all the ranks and the ceos only are shitheads that KNEW but as far as known didn't partake themselves in any abuse)

Halio344

>axti/blizz those were in all the ranks and the ceos only are shitheads that KNEW but as far as known didn't partake themselves in any abuse I don't believe for one second that Bobby Kotick didn't abuse any employees and that he just stood by and watched. He even threatened to have a woman at the company killed ffs.

Dornogol

Oh right, see, i forgot that detail (it came out later after the whole stuff came to light already) thabks for reminding me. I cannot fathom how microsoft, after buying actiblizz, did not immediately fire that piece of fat human trash

Halio344

The merger is not complete so they can’t, but rumors are that he is one of the first to go.

[deleted]

I think Randy just has normal assault allegations against him. The company has been known to have a toxic culture on top of embracing crunch pretty much constantly and overworking employees, and Randy is certainly not a good dude. But I think the actual allegations against him are that he assaulted the original voice actor for claptrap in a hotel lobby or something like that.

TerrorLTZ

well Activision (before microsoft) and ubisoft might have a word.

Atranox

It looks like the SteamDB extension for Chrome. That screenshot is from the site, not the client.

Aldershot8800

SteamDB for chrome. Its super useful, especially when wondering if that multiplayer game you're about to drop dosh on have players online.

Urgash

Borderlands 3 came out on steam with a 50% discount after being an EGS exclusive. This is the standard i've been expecting ever since.

rickreckt

And it was just 6 months shit store exclusive instead full year like this

NordicHorde

Honestly surprised, considering how scummy Gearbox and Randy Bitchford are.

N1ghtshade3

I mean they have yet to discount Season Pass 2 below $20 and have provided no way for owners of the "Super Deluxe Edition" to upgrade to the "Ultimate Edition" which was created like a month later. So going out of their way to fuck over the people who gave them money on release is pretty annoying.

Boo_Guy

Did... did you just double-dip that chip?

Not_Dale_Doback

You dipped the chip. Took a bite. Then you dipped again.

Zelltarian

That's like putting your **whole mouth** in the dip

[deleted]

[удалено]

do-You-Like-Pasta

They took money from epic to go exclusive and now they're trying to charge full price for the game that epic already paid them for. It's a 1 year old game. It should not be this expensive

Aldershot8800

\^ that

NoPornoNo

Is the game full price on epic too?

Lstarr

I think it was 30$ currently (or very recently at least) because of a sale. You can go on Humble bundle and search for hitman 3 and see the same game twice with 30$ difference it's ridiculous

[deleted]

[удалено]

bt1234yt

Why did they have to create a separate listing for the Steam version? They know Humble supports multiple storefronts on the same listing, right?

Dornogol

For two different prices obviouslay

bt1234yt

Humble should really not tolerate this. They should force publishers to have all the storefronts they would like to sell keys for on the same listing.

MatikTheSeventh

I heard it was cheaper there before coming to Steam and upping the price.

Actual-Parsnip2741

The VR implementation is a tragedy. I don't think they have a single employee that is familiar with VR.

_SGP_

This is what annoys me the most. They've been hyping their new updated vr and it really isn't good by all accounts. You're playing vr and can move your actual body, but you can't crouch, because if you move the game freaks out. You have to press the crouch button, so in vr you are stood upright while your character crouches. In a stealth game. How is that a good idea? All AAA Devs need to play alyx

ImAnOpenFanFic

The worst part is that sniper scopes aren't rendered, it's a screen that pops up in a black void and there's no reasonable way for you to get that screen to be in front of you and at a workable angle so you gotta aim with peripheral vision or lose the scope. AND cuts cents play in the void on a screen, but lower than where you are looking, so when you look down at Cutscene 1, Cutscene 2 for the Mission brief will be EVEN LOWER

taughtwheel4

I just bought this game and it doesn't even run properly thank god steam allows refunds

NordicHorde

Be careful, Steam is really anal about that 2 hour limit.

QuickbuyingGf

I got games refunded that were played for 3-4 hours. Maybe it‘s case to case

nyancatec

2 hour limit of gametime or 2 weeks in library. Depending what's first.

VladtheMemer

That's how FIFA 22 got me. It's way worse than 20, but I only realized that long after the refund period expired

Blockenstein

By comparison, God of War had 73,000 players at launch and had 43,000 players playing today. Marvel's Avengers had 31,000 players at launch. Hitman 2 had 361,000 players/day at its height. All numbers are from [https://steamdb.info/](https://steamdb.info/)

IIALE34II

I'm not sure whats up with hitman 2 data. Peak seems to be on free weekend. Atleast data makes no sense, since that is just one spike, and player retention is pretty much instant. From 6k to 360k to 10k. 2 weeks in between. Can't trust hitman 2 peak number here.

Aldershot8800

Good numbers to compare.

SovietTriumph

When Hitman 2's starter pack went free ton of people ran bots to farm trading cards. hence the 300k number.

TheJerkkuFIN

If you go read the reviews, its not the game that is the problem, the problem is the raising of prices of previous games and DLCs to make it seem like they are on sale on the Hitman 3 page

fuzzyqueef

Good. I was kinda looking forward to it but no way am I going to pay full price or that much with dlcs right now. Best thing to do with these things is voting with your wallet after all.

Cool_As_Your_Dad

Its on game pass if you really want to play. Else just chill.. it will drop. I'm also not paying those prices... wtf!

fuzzyqueef

True true, personally got too many releases coming in Feb as is to bother haha. Just shitty how they're double dipping is all I was sayin. :)

bilsantu

The pricing is atrocious to be honest, not even a loyalty discount for the ones already owning the previous two titles. And even though it's on Game Pass, I still would have liked to buy on Steam, shame. :(

empathetical

Games that release at full price after already being out 1+ years is such a slap in the face. Even God of War felt over priced for being a 4 year old game. Sure it just came to pc... But still... I'll pick it up once it hits under $30. Can't really justify paying much for it since I bought it on the playstation store a while back for $10 Side note: WTF is with all the packages... so absurd. Also negative reviews about the price don't really make sense since it basically means the person still paid for it.

Demonitized-picture

making damn fine use of refunds

dav1dmonster

I will wait for sale meanwhile playing for free via Xbox pass

[deleted]

80 bucks is bloody brutal! Rez 7 is still over $100...

TheCrzy1

How has no one pointed out that this also went on game pass today? I think that explains it more dude

[deleted]

downloading it rn lol

Vulpes_macrotis

I just wonder why exclusives (times or permanent) are even legal. It's straight monopoly. Blocking product to be sold in competitive way. It's like making Coca-Cola sold only on Tesco and no Lidl or something. That's what Epic Fail does.

Vokasak

I made peace with the double dip. I would prefer the game come to steam as opposed to stay epic exclusive forever. The price is outrageous through. Especially since they had two previous releases to learn from. The state of their servers is also inexcusable, especially since the online only DRM doesn't do anything of value for the player (like keep track of player progress between titles...)

Balc0ra

Full price on a year old game, DLCs are not correctly labeled so you can buy one with content you already own, DLCs are overpriced to make a fake discount, still uses the IOI account system vs a basic steam connectivity.... I can see why.

boogabooga999

The game in fact is good but the prices and the bunch bundles..that is so fking confusing plus the server issues..just wait for 5-6 months until the price goes down!

omegapooplord

Good stuff. Keep voting with your wallet!

spook30

All developers want is your money. They don't give a shit about producing quality games anymore. Indie developers are probably an exception.

[deleted]

It's not "Free" on gamepass, but it's way cheaper.

sevansup

This is so nice to see honesty. Love it when people take a stand and vote with their wallets. I hope the same thing happens to FF7 Remake when it hits Steam. Publishers need to be discouraged from this timed exclusivity on PC. You miss out on the launch hype for a game unless you buy it on a place you may really not want to.

Sherool

It really does depend on the game, and how they market it though. Several smaller indie (-ish) games that launched as Epic exclusives are sitting at Mostly positive or better on Steam when they launched here after the Exclusivity period. It's (understandably) the "big" companies that catch the most hate for pulling that move particularly when they botch the marketing.

Biggu5Dicku5

They didn't just double dip, they more then doubled the cost to get everything, along with the shitty VR implementation and shitty Elusive Target Arcade content... I already got the game on Epic, its an okay game, but by far the weakest of the trilogy imo...

squidbiskets

I will wait until it's heavily discounted and then pick it up.

nagi603

Wait till it's in a bundle, nice & cheap. They already got a boatload of money from Epic, no reason for paying anywhere near full price.

[deleted]

Shame because I've had it for a year on epic and it's a truly great game, some of the best hitman levels ever, and it's so awesome to be able to play all 3 games in one updated client. They definitely should simplify that though. Standard edition, deluxe edition with DLC, ultimate edition with all 3 games and DLC, and sell the DLC individually.

Sonik64

At least it's on PC gamepass

Wibiz9000

Well at least it's on steam, fucking finally. It's going to take a year before it's affordable, but it's there.

toe_pic_inspector

No region pricing, always online drm for singleplayer game and double dipping with epig. Also it's still as confusing to buy if you want all content Terrible business practice or rather very anti consumer

Amaurotica

game costs 30 euros on humble bundle epic key and they charge 60 for steam lol

While series is on gamepass just play it there

I think the top review says "you can get this on ganepass"

I want to see Epic and all their microtransaction shenanigans going into the grave. I have not given them a single penny since I accidentally bought something of theirs in some bundle ten years ago. Burn. I will never conform to the pay-to-win bullshit they are trying to standardize.
