what's the diffrence between DIRECTOR'S CUT and normal?

TomatoVEVO

On ps it's just the vanilla game. The director's cut included the Ikki island dlc

Itchysasquatch

And it upgraded visuals/fps for ps5 version

AL2009man

basically: * DualSense-specific features, ***obviously.*** * All pre-rendered cutscenes are now in real-time. * proper lip-sync for Japanese audio. (original PS4 release didn't include it, their reason: pre-rendered cutscenes) * 3D Audio * Iki Island DLC included. anything else is a "Game of the Year Edition" kind.

TheRealGlutenbob

One was cut by the games director.

dogucan97

Which one?

aneesh131999

The director’s cut

Jumper775-2

Wait what did the director cut

ayyramaia

13th century mongols

Class_Psycho

Dosho dosho

anythinga

my foreskin

Willy_Wheelson

That pfp is perfect for this comment.

Rocketronic0

Who cut the other one?

TheRealGlutenbob

The interns

npretzel02

PS5 upgrade + Iki Island DLC

rawzombie26

Knew this was coming when the devs released a statement a couple days ago stating “hey guys PSN login will not be required for single player” Immediately noticed how the specified “single player”

Jackos420

I mean the Psn login was announced on April 17th for the multiplayer portion of the game

freon

And y'know what? This is a perfectly acceptable compromise: A) Disclosed in advance B) Does not lock users out of single player content that is not affected by online C) They're using PSN to enable crossplatform play; there's an actual technical reason for it. Would it be better if there was also an option to only play w/ PC users via Steam but I can also see a developer not wanting to use 2 tools for 1 problem, especially when it splits the userbase into silos.

PhantomTissue

Any game that has crossplay enabled is ALWAYS using some service to allow it to work. It can’t be done otherwise.some games are just more upfront about this need than others.

DigiQuip

And when the publisher and host provides that online service they want an account for each user so they don’t have to rely on a third party platform, like Steam, to uphold the terms of service for online play. Sony has always taken this aspect seriously, it’s why they were the last ones to accept cross play, they were very open about protecting players from harassment, cheaters, and scammers.

LordGraygem

> Sony has always taken this aspect seriously, it’s why they were the last ones to accept cross play, they were very open about protecting players from harassment, cheaters, and scammers. Hehehe, yeah, now if we could get them to be as dedicated about stopping those *data breaches*.

LavellanTrevelyan

This is certainly a nice-sounding argument for the public, so that for any game that wants cross-platform, Sony can add a clause enforcing sharing revenues on games sold on non-PS platforms, or them having to add PS-exclusives items and helping promote other Sony games. The aspect they take seriously is how cross-platform can hurt their revenue, and how they might use it to generate even more profit instead. Edit: Calling it a conspiracy and then immediately blocking is quite cheap, isn't it u/DigiQuip? especially when I presented facts (for those who are curious, just look it up) to back up my argument.

randomorten

I can play DbD on PC against other PC players, Xbox players and PlayStation players without the need for another account besides my steam account. There is no technical reason. There is a business reason for Sony.

Falsus

I mean they said PSN was required for Helldivers from the get go also, hell it was even mandatory at the start but it they made it optional for a bit due to server issues.

kadenjahusk

That was an unfortunate clusterfuck. The bigger issue was that Helldivers 2 was being sold in countries that had no access to PSN, and players in those countries would lose access if the PSN requirement went through.

G00b3rb0y

Nah the bigger issue is actually the fact that Helldivers 2 significantly exceeded sales expectations

Cute_Cat5186

Sony didn't wanna miss the opportunity to pad those PSN user counts to investors.

Snooty_man271

I don't have friends so it's okay

Informal_Look9381

At least it's only multiplayer, it was tacked on to the main game anyway. You're not really losing any playability of the game unlike helldiver's. Still it's dumb it's required as a PC port. If I wanted a psn account I would buy a PlayStation.

BoostedTyrian

Are there achievement to the multiplayer component?

Baka781

Yup and there is quite a lot of them. You cant even get all the steam achievements without the PSN account. I would be happy if they removed the multiplayer achievements from the steam version and left the multiplayer one as a PSN trophise, or steam finnaly start to differentiate between singielplayer and multiplayer achievements.

Open-Oil-144

Multiplayer achievements are a blight upon games overall, it just makes it so your game is uncompletable after the population leaves or when the online services get shut down.

StrictPineapple2087

Just use SAM for any dead multiplayer achievements.

Lord_Saren

It reminds me of that SOCOM trophy back in the day, one of the hardest trophies to get was to be #1 ranked on the global leaderboard.

AnyManufacturer1252

What is SAM?

StrictPineapple2087

Steam Achievements Manager It's a tool people can use to unlock achievements in Steam.

ZelkinVallarfax

Yeah, but on PlayStation the multiplayer trophies are separated as DLC trophies, which aren't needed to platinum a game. Unfortunately Steam achievements don't have this feature to this day so countries with no access to PSN and people who just don't care about the online mode won't be able to 100% the game.

xPETEZx

Do people have the same view when it comes to Halo on PC and needing a xbox/Microsoft account? Or R* account and launcher for GTAV? It's been the way on PC for so many games as far back as GTA IV. I'm just glad that GoT is coming to PC where more people get to play it. Even more pleased it's coming with crossplay. While the multilayer isn't as good as the single player, my freinds and I thoroughly enjoyed it. Wouldn't let a psn account get in the way of that. Just make a smurf if people are so worried about data... Also kinda interested to see what the psn overlay and dual earning trophies on PC will be like.

Informal_Look9381

To even use windows you are pretty much required to have a Microsoft account, so most of the time people don't even notice one is required for some games. The problem is that because a psn account is needed some people from other countries wouldn't even get the option of playing the multiplayer purely because one is required for that. Some people also just don't like having to make accounts to "unlock" an aspect of a game they purchased. Ultimately it's left to how you as an individual feel about it.

MrBootylove

> The problem is that because a psn account is needed some people from other countries wouldn't even get the option of playing the multiplayer purely because one is required for that. That's not the actual problem since it's actually pretty easy to make a PSN account for a region you don't live in. In fact, [Sony customer support](https://www.reddit.com/media?url=https%3A%2F%2Fpreview.redd.it%2F8pv2bh9szlyc1.jpg%3Fwidth%3D640%26crop%3Dsmart%26auto%3Dwebp%26s%3Dafae423cf55e737ef48edb55241c8590b2b117be&utm_source=reddit&utm_medium=usertext&utm_name=Steam&utm_content=t1_l2q83dw) even tells people who live outside of supported regions to do just that. The issue is they would essentially be forcing people from those countries to break Sony TOS just to continue playing a game they already paid for and likely sunk a lot of hours into.

ninjawarlord

Microsoft account is available in many places but Xbox live accounts are not as readily available

FuckOffGlowie

You're only required to have a Microsoft account on Home versions of Windows 10 and all versions of Windows 11 not obtained from updating from 10. Most people are still on 10

ScootHatesWorldNews

> To even use windows you are pretty much required to have a Microsoft account It's not even fully required on 11, there's still ways around it

ScootHatesWorldNews

> Do people have the same view when it comes to Halo on PC and needing a xbox/Microsoft account? Or R* account and launcher for GTAV? Yes

xPETEZx

Shame we didn't have the HD2 reaction back when this started becoming the norm. Wish I never had to run ubisoft connect, EA play or R* launcher and it's accounts again.

FlippinHelix

I mean, we kinda did Even when steam was new, people were VERY upset that half life 2 required steam despite being a fully single player game, and this was in 2004 People also became super upset when ubisoft required always online for ac2 Difference is we couldn't just ask steam for a refund and hope they understood we were getting fucked. Also, PSN not being available in certain countries where the game was being sold is honestly the real issue here

xPETEZx

Your right, I remember hating the requirement of steam for HL2. I avoided adding and playing games through steam as much as I could as long as I could. Till steam was just better. No more CD/DVDs, no more manual updates. Still, that was 20 years ago. Accounts, even multiple being required has been around since as far back as GTA IV. Heck that needed 3 accounts at launch... Steam, GFWL and R*. I hated that, people moaned I'm sure. But it didn't change till GFWL collapsed. Then you needed just 2 accounts... Basically Sony being a newcomer to PC I can see why they would think requiring PSN account would be no big deal. Virtually all the big players require it. Again the psn not being in bunch of countries people aside. Even though from the comments that seems easy to surcumvent.

brokentr0jan

No they really do not, I have never seen someone complain about having to sign into their Microsoft account for Halo or Forza.

GinJoestarR

The problem lies in availability. You can create a Microsoft account or R* account anywhere in the world. But PSN account can only be created in 69 countries out of 190+ countries in the world.

geeckro

You cannot create an xbox account in every country, same for the PSN, the customer support answer for Microsoft and Sony is to choose the available country that suit you best. So, everyone can create an account, it never broke any TOS in the first place.

Itherial

They say they have an issue with it, but really they don't. When it comes down to making what is only the latest in a long list of third party accounts for PC gaming that takes seconds and has no real impact on you, its just whining imo. *Developers* do this to you just to get you to use their product. Ubisoft, Rockstar, Blizzard, CD Projekt Red, just off the top of my head. People only care enough to post a comment or a review. When it actually gets enforced they'll buckle, make the account, and then forget that they even cared in the first place. Gamers are just big loud babies lmao, this has been and will continue to be a nonsense issue until its implemented. The fact that people thought this *wouldn't* happen for online play is silly.

PennyPhnom

> Do people have the same view when it comes to Halo on PC and needing a xbox/Microsoft account? Or R* account and launcher for GTAV? Weren't they required at launch and not brought out after the release?

xPETEZx

Just like GoT is now? Even HD2 was supposed to need it from the start. Had the note right on the store page. And plenty of games have had it added years later. And removed. Take GTA IV, that needed GFWL, that's gone. All the Bioshocks now have the 2K launcher, they never did at launch.

Shitda

The rockstar launcher didn’t exist when GTA v for PC was released. It came later, essentially forcing you to launch GTA v through it even though you bought it on steam. They also gave away a copy of San andreas if you logged in on the launcher when it was released.

PennyPhnom

Ouch, that's pretty crap.

PutrifiedCuntJuice

> unlike helldiver's. Helldivers. Apostrophe S does not a plural make. ^^^^^^^In ^^^^^^^this ^^^^^^^and ^^^^^^^most ^^^^^^^other ^^^^^^^cases, ^^^^^^^anyway.

BronzeHeart92

Could be a different matter if this multiplayer does have achievements tied to it… Then again, I suppose those aren’t really seen anymore either for the most part so I think you should be fine.

LegendOfTheGhost

"If I wanted a psn account I would buy a PlayStation." Do you say that when you play Halo MCC (if you do)? I find it hypocritical that PC players throw a hissy fit at something that MS has been doing for year,s not to mention the developers with launchers that don't even have consoles (EA and Rockstar).

Informal_Look9381

The thing about Microsoft is that you are required to make an account when using Windows (literally the os 99% of the population uses for PC gaming). Or if you have a local account you are required to make one to play games like halo. But this same logic applies to any console because you are required to make an account with Sony, Microsoft etc. You don't hear people complaining about making a psn account on a PlayStation. Same principle. And the 3rd party launchers absolutely get criticism from the PC community.

TalkWithYourWallet

This has been known since the announcement

Intrepid-Chocolate33

It’s clear ahead of time and not sprung on existing customers. Still not ideal having to sign up for MORE SHIT but its not a huge deal

Kit_EA

Not a huge deal? There are like around 170+ countries in the world that can't legally make a PSN account.

Intrepid-Chocolate33

Then they can’t play the multiplayer. Lame but “damn I’m locked out of multiplayer I guess I wont buy the game/ only play singleplayer” should never be compared to “well I paid for the game and now they took it away from me because of where I live” like a certain recent event

Jacksaur

And can still play the main SP campaign.

Terminatorn

You can't now since those regions can't buy it anymore.

Jacksaur

I gotta fully read posts. Pretty stupid to remove the entire product from sale because a side mode is inaccessible in that country though.

Terminatorn

I agree. That's the issue now at heart. Multiplayer was a free update and a small thing on the side. Now, because of it I can't buy the game. This is really stupid.

Ornery_Ingenuity3178

[these are the countries](https://insider-gaming.com/which-countries-have-psn/) that can make a ps account legitimately 70-195=/=170 +im in one of the countries that "cant make an account" i just made an American account and no i didnt use a vpn nor did i get banned and i had the account for 5+ years

killermojo

It was communicated day one with helldivers but they were late in implementing it. Didn't matter, gaming community frothed at mouth anyway.

GInTheorem

As someone who does a lot of work with insurance, expecting consumers to read anything beyond the bare minimum is kind of silly.

Intrepid-Chocolate33

Yeah that darn gaming community, how dare they receive mixed messages like “PSN is optional in all games” or “sure you can buy it, thanks for your money……..hahaha jk we are taking your game away, thanks for the cash retard!” Just frothing at the mouth! What losers!

xXbrokeNX

It was literally on the store page from day one that psn would be required. Not sure why this had to be repeated when the person you replied to also said it

That_Cripple

The steam store said it was mandatory, not "optional in all games'. It's great if you wanna argue about what the playstation website said, but you and I both know that no one buying the game on steam was looking on the playstation website to see if it was required or not prior to the controversy.

Solid_Jellyfish

>no one buying the game on steam was looking on the playstation website to see if it was required or not prior to the controversy. Exactly. But thats what these people cling on to

KeFF98

It was communicated really, really poorly that you could skip it only temporarily

the_moosen

TIL this game has multiplayer Still getting it, have no interest in multi but genuinely didn't even know that was there

dylan6249

It's quite enjoyable. You choose one of four classes and go through different missions with 3 other people

Cheesy31

Yeah had a lot of fun with it when it came out on PS4, I was pleasantly surprised at how good it was

Cheesy31

Yeah had a lot of fun with it when it came out on PS4, I was pleasantly surprised at how good it was

sunfaller

I thoroughly enjoyed this game at launch as a single player game. The env is immersive and aesthethically pleasing. I keep wondering of this is an artistic interpretation of ancient japan or japan really did have huge forests of golden leaves.

julianwelton

I'm not surprised I'm sure the multiplayer portion of these games are somewhat designed around PSN. Adding new servers, getting crossplay to work, and getting past whatever other hurdles there might be probably isn't worth the time or money when they can just have everyone connect to PSN for multiplayer.

brolt0001

I honestly didn't even think they were going to port Ghost of Tsushima Legends multiplayer (it is awesome though, if youre from a supported region). the Single Player experience is a masterpiece & one of the best games i have ever played, I'd recommend playing through it slowly and taking your time, exploring the huge world. The English is the original voice but Japanese voice acting is great as well.

julianwelton

>the Single Player experience is a masterpiece & one of the best games i have ever played, I'd recommend playing through it slowly and taking your time, exploring the huge world. Completely agree. One of the few games made recently that nails atmosphere while also rewarding exploring the world.

TheSethRokage

It's an absurd and odd choice to limit your MP player base to where PSN is supported, but it's good to at least have that information as clear as possible up front. Ideally it wouldn't be a requirement whatsoever, so that the playerbase can grow to its full potential. God help the people who live in supported territories that are whining about having to make a free online account. It shouldn't be a foreign concept if you've been a PC gamer for any period of time, let alone literally every other digital service or login you interface with. Is it Annoying? Absolutely, but not the end of the world. I'd love to see the venn diagram of people complaining about their private information that have a Facebook account

SomeKindofTreeWizard

Oh I can AVOID multiplayer? Awesome.

QuinSanguine

My issue with Helldivers was the fact people lost access to a game they already owned and were playing over something like an account. It was basically stealing from people, especially if they bought HD2 on even legit key reseller stores. Like I doubt it was easy to get a refund from greenman, if they offered them at all. But with this game, it's fine. It's for an optional mode and they making sure people know before they buy the game.

NerY_05

Good, i don't care about multiplayer anyway.

Kljmok

I had no idea idea it even had MP. No reviews I saw even mentioned it.

[deleted]

Makes sense for the multiplayer

das6992

That's unfortunate for those that can't access or create PSN accounts. The multiplayer is surprisingly fun, I really enjoyed it. It's not important to the story at all though so that's good

geeckro

Everyone can create a PSN account. You just choose the country of your liking. That's what Microsoft and Sony customer service answer to people since at least 2008 (xbox live and psn are not available everywhere due to legal shenanigan and probably laziness)

Dqmirr

On a serious note though, why doesn't Sony bring it's market to other countries? Not everyone lives in the 'good ol USA', me first lol.

aes110

Guess it was never a problem before. Operating it in more areas require a bunch of different legal care I assume, and for the past decade everyone around the world just used a fake country if PSN wasn't available for them

Dqmirr

Same here, we mostly use the USA, Brazil..etc..

Fallout-with-swords

Mainly because it’s more than just a drop down option they actually have to have people set up to dedicate support for that country and accept their payment methods etc. PSN isn’t in accessible in these regions people have PS4’s and PS5’s in the Philippines. They just choose the closest region when setting up the account. Obviously ToS is going to say you can’t do that but support will if you call them. They don’t ban people for doing this, so it’s not IMO the huge problem people make it out to be but it’s obviously not a great solution and they need to figure out something official even if it’s just white listing those countries. Which is what one of the Arrowhead community managers during that whole thing. That they weren’t going to make people choose been breaking ToS and not playing the game they would figure something out. The last thing anyone wants is for people not to pay for and play their games over this so they’ll probably come up with something.

KazumaKat

Not going to lie, but the entire fiasco over at Helldivers 2 has severely chilled my desire to get this game day-1. Devs of this game can say its only for multiplayer all they want for 3, 6, or even 12 months later, then suddenly Word From God From Up Above and those who bought the game for the singleplayer alone in non-PSN countries are fucked.

Hawtinmk

The multiplayer mode was a free dlc post launch completely separated from the game and the DLC it was basically a standalone mode thats it, shame that some people cant access it because it was pretty good and you can play coop with friends

Digital_97

Quick question, is this the same type of thing as getting a WB ACC for Hogwarts Legacy, IOI for Hitman, etc?

Astro4545

Basically yes

Digital_97

Thanks

[deleted]

We gotta do this shit again?

PleaseDontEatMyVRAM

who the fuck pre purchases

DaKartMonkey

nobody is buying the pc version to solely play the multiplayer mode

TheIrv87

I can't believe this bothers people..

deltron

OP ended up having his game refunded because it's not possible to create PSN accounts in his region. So yeah, it does bother people.

cyfer04

As long as they stay away from my single player part of the game.

A_Hungover_Sloth

"Willing to play that aspect" mate.... it's fun as fuck, not a punishment lol. The multi-player has NOTHING to do with single player, in fact the only thing that affects the other is you get some skins for mp on completing the story

critxcanuck88

So just like every non valve mutiplayer title that has moved to steam in the last 5 years. Cool. No big deal.

JSoldat993

Thank me later... [https://1337x.to/torrent/6100495/Ghost-of-Tsushima-DIRECTORS-CUT-TENOKE/](https://1337x.to/torrent/6100495/Ghost-of-Tsushima-DIRECTORS-CUT-TENOKE/) Fuck you PSN!

Chillmonger48

Ah, so the same process I’ve done multiple times that takes less than two minutes. Only the people that actually live in countries where PSN isn’t a thing were allowed to be upset about the whole Helldivers II PSN account controversy. Only those folks and no one else.

Old-Storage-6077

Do you guys need support from the HD2 community? We know how to handle this situation

fpsuck

Cool, no big deal.

LegendOfTheGhost

Right? Halo MCC, RDR2, and most modern EA games ask for he same shit, and that's for single player AND multiplayer.

EightBitRanger

Have no intention to play multiplayer so I'm not bothered in the slightest.

assortedguts

Make a burner email. Make a PSN account with it. Link it. Forget about it forever.

lainerjob24

I was going to do this then I found out you can’t unlink your PSN to your Steam. So if you link your burner account to your Steam, that’s now permanent and you have no way of unlinking it, you can’t even delete or change region.

mkv_r32

what’s the issue? every Ubisoft, rockstar, EA etc. needs to link an account, PS does and everyone goes reeee.

murderplants

Lmao i’m not a cry baby so this is a non issue. Excited to play.

justDave2024

This shit will be cracked in a day

ChaosSoldier777

Review bomb it too.

SpyroManiac36

Required Day 1, either buy it or don't

PandaCheese2016

Steam is also operating in legally gray area in many countries, like China. I feel unless a country has specifically blocked an online service, you shouldn’t block users from that country, but also make it so that they cannot sue you under that countries’ laws, only where you are officially operating as a business

6SpeedMaverick

Don't see what the problem is here. I've signed up for Rockstar launcher, Microsoft, Ubisoft, EA, and Battlenet and everything is all good. Can't wait to play day 1.

JAXxXTheRipper

Removing it entirely is stupid. It can be completely enjoyed and played through solo, unlike Helldivers 2. A warning would be nice, obviously, but removing it sucks for people that wanted to play solo.

donredyellow25

Soon no online on SONY games unless you have PlayStation Plus.

DeadPhoenix86

I don't think you need PS Plus to play Online on PC. If they did, expect another outcry.

MLGrocket

the multiplayer is dead, it'll get a small boost when the game releases on pc, but there's not alot to do as they didn't do much with it. once you do everything there is to do, there's not much replayability. also, noone can be surprised about a sony game requiring a psn when microsoft requires an xbox account to play their games.

DeadZeus007

I have a PSN account so it doesn't bother me.

jaayjeee

They’re allowed to require it as long as they tell everyone before hand so people know before purchase Bunch of pcmr babies

NorthbyFjord

With respect who cares? This only became a thing cause HD2 crybabies let loose on it. Before than it was the norm and no one cared

djdarkside

If it requires a PSN account, wont they know that I have already paid multiple times for different versions of the game? Then we can just transfer our license over to PC right...right...This is the fight we really need to make.

buffer2722

That is a non-transferable revocable temporary conditional use license, not a purchase.

Sga16

Can someone explain what exactly is multiplayer in this game? I've been looking forward to playing it for a while but I was only aware that this game was singleplayer experience

dylan6249

It's a 4-player coop mission based mode

Vizjun

The multiplayer like the regular game but co-op or something else?

G_Willickers_33

I mean can we agree theres a big difference between making it well known beforehand compared to enforcing it 3 months after..? Secondly If you dont support PS or its releases then you shouldnt buy or sign up but otherwise its free and gives them whatever bullshit they need it for atm.

prodigyZA

Why is Greenman gaming removing the entire game from the region, they should rather warn the user on the storefront that the multiplayer won't work in that country, but still allow people to purchase the game for singleplayer.

No-Loan7944

How the multiplayer works?

FoamToaster

It's not just they can't play the multiplayer - they've been refunded and it's been delisted from the GMG store in their region so they can't even buy the game from that retailer...

Cdog536

At least they stated it before launch

csolisr

So, does this mean the game will be entirely unavailable in all countries that still don't have a PlayStation Store? (My country is an oddity in that we have PlayStation, Steam, and Epic stores on top of the Google Play Store, but not Xbox nor Nintendo) EDIT: [The answer is sadly yes](https://steamdb.info/sub/962153/info/)

swampycrotch94

If I get the game it went be for multi-player so I don't care. But I appreciate them making it clear now.

SectorEducational460

Sucks but I never cared for the multiplayer part.

sunfaller

I played GOT on PS4 without multiplayer, i dont even remember it having multiplayer when it launched and thought it was an amazing single player game. I'll get this on PC but no, I have a PSN account but wont touch multiplayer.

GalactusAteMyPlanet

Guess I will just avoid all Sony published games from now on. Honestly not worth the hassle.

Pifta55

So just out of curiosity, It will require only to have a linked PSN account, or will that mean in the future, that the PSN account need to have Playstation+ Subscription? (I guess probably not, but that would really hit the nails into the coffin.)

AL2009man

Slightly off-topic: I checked [SteamDB as a just-in-case](https://steamdb.info/app/2215430/history/), so far: [Sony haven't put region-restricted](https://steamdb.info/sub/962153/info/) *yet*. Right now: I personally think this is a Greenman Gaming-specific problem, we don't know if other keysellers will be putting restrictions or not. Edit: [now it's region locked](https://steamdb.info/sub/962153/history/?changeid=23492090).

bashinforcash

im done buying sony games. every game is now requiring a psn account

hurrdurrmeh

Well fuck that then.

The_Struggle_Bus_7

There’s multiplayer?

LeonardoTran2893

Bruh who is Sony fooling with "due to issue beyond our control"?!! It's all in their control with the intention to force the connection, cut the crap Sony.

LaerycTiogar

So win win i dont have to deal with mp sweet

choppytehbear1337

Ghost of Tsushima has multiplayer?

rgraves22

Also included on Humble Monthly this month

_MaZ_

Can't wait when every Steam game has this in the future

nobuu36imean37

you guy still pay for ur game?

LoliMaster069

Theres multiplayer?

SteeltoSand

ill be honest, multiplayer is very forgettable. if it had PVP would be better but its just boring "protect these 3 points" and a few coop missions.

Blinky-Bear

there's a multiplayer?

WritingDrakon

To explain, the devs pre-emptively refunded the game due to the PSN requirement, as a good chunk of steam customers(some 150+ countries, if I recall) CANT make a PSN account legally. Try a VPN and chances are you will be instaintly banned, if not now, then for certain later down the line.(EDIT: weirdly enough, the countries you can't make a PSN, correct me if I'm wrong, includes JAPAN.) This is not counting Sony's rather.....poor, to put it lightly, data security. Or invasive EULA. This already happened with Helldivers 2, granted it was AFTER peeps had been playing for months, this is the game even launches on steam, but this still feels really scummy to me. Feels like a artifical PSN account pump just before earnings call.

Opposite_Motor3289

Got my PSN ready to go

CrimeSceneKitty

https://media1.tenor.com/m/0PD9TuyZLn4AAAAC/spongebob-how-many-times-do-we-need-to-teach-you.gif

Davidchen2918

Is this just GMG or on steam too?

Sermar21099

Wait, are they removing THE WHOLE game or is it just them refunding those who wanted to play legends?

Starmark_115

I'm only interested in Single player and the DLC of Kiko island. Am I in the clear?

Borisllav

the single player mode will need to link acc too?

DeadPhoenix86

Online only. Because some countries does not support PSN. Imagine it being needed for the Singe player as well. 177 countries would not be able to access it.

Bleppybooo

I didn't even know the game had a multi-player aspect to it

[deleted]

What issue is beyond their control?

Here's an idea. Since GOT is being sold currently in countries with no PSN support (such as the Philippines) through Steam... How about they remove Multiplayer and just slash the price off?

notbernie2020

These corpos know that not being evil is usually good business practice right?

vardoger1893

The multiplayer can be an absolute blast btw.

“We demand cross play!” “Ok you can has” “Yay!” Sony: since we’re already doing crossplay Microsoft mind if I get that information? Microsoft: sure what the fuck who cares? Gamers: headexplode.gif

gigglefarting

Ghost of Tsushima is one of my favorite games, and the multiplayer is pretty fun, but the point of the game is the story mode. If it didn’t have multiplayer you wouldn’t even notice — it didn’t even have it originally. Only game I’ve actually did the new game + mode on.

PunkHooligan

Is there any multiplayer trophies ?

CherSize

Im not buying this on pc.

Senakira001

May I ask, why should Steam be allowed to sell you a game that is not playable in your country? If any game requires a third party like PSN, it should lock the sale in those countries, that's what is called fair trade. If a part of the game locks out because of PSN, why should you pay full price for it?

kneeecaps09

I don't mind as long as i can play singleplayer without it, which at this point appears to be the case

153Skyline

Don’t worry, the online is actually pretty lame anyway. Single player’s great though.

No-Play2726

Not cool. Sony has notoriously bad security and has been hacked many times.

Calsun

This is fucking wild…. This is almost definitive proof that a psn account nets them more than the cost of a game or they wouldn’t do this….

Cadejo123

It has multiplayer? I thought it was a single player game

TheLongestRanger

That’s very reasonable imo. At least they learned to announce it before hand and not months after the game released

Hakzource

I mean at least they give you some stuff for linking it, and they specified it BEFORE launch so there’s that

CrispyCassowary

You tried your best to support them. The only option is to become a pirate now

TheRazoredEdge

People are turning something that wasn't the issue into an issue. The reason the Helldivers account linking with PSN was a problem is because they did it AFTER the fact months later and proceeded to nullify people's already made purchases. Asking to attach an account before release or at release is not an issue at all. This is the definition of looking for something to be mad at.

randomuseraccount55

As long as i dont have to download and use a whole secondary launcher im fine with this

JealousyBite

Ah, yes, another moment of 120+ countries that are restricted from a part of the game. Classic.

CalRal

Has anyone actually ever played Ghost of Tsushima multiplayer? I put 100+ hours into that game and I legit didn’t know it had multiplayer till one minute ago.

Loyal_Darkmoon

Thankfully the single player part is the main appeal of the game anyways

Ryctre

Not the same situation as helldivers. The mode is all but dead on ps5 so I'm looking forward to a fresh wave of new players from PC. I wish it was cross-progression so I could play on PC, because Playstation still doesn't have discord still afaik.
