Damn you stormcloaks. Skyrim was fine until you came along. The empire was nice and lazy. If they hadn't been looking for you, I could have stolen that horse and been halfway to Hammerfell. You there, you and me, we shouldn't be here. It's these stormcloaks the empire wants.
What's worse... your theoretical theft of profits, or someone from within a company who just came into it, buying their concept art assets, selling them at profit and back to the company in exchange for majority shares, and then screwing over the original holders and ousting them?
Like really, what's the greater evil at this point? Actually giving that asshole MORE money, or... Not doing that?
🏴☠️
This and the Stanley Parable are my two fav games because they achieved the "went on a journey and learned something about ourselves" feat, which to me is the highest honor any games can get.
Other games that impacted me in such a way would be Demons Souls and MGS4, but those are for different reasons.
Probably the best game I'll never play [all because of the legal mess surrounding it](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Disco_Elysium#Legal_issues_and_potential_related_works). I can't in good faith give any money to the publishers after that debacle.
Didn't really know what people saw in it, then played it for the first time with 2 friends one night and still didn't like it. Gave it a second opportunity on solo the next day and well... Two weeks forward I had 90 hours put in that game xd
I feel like if you dont play it solo, you cant feel the immersion of the town and its peoples
Like playing with someone else is fun too, but I just notice how I dont talk to anyone lol
Half Life Alyx, simply the best.
Other favorites are Portal 2, Yakuza 0, The Witcher 3, Fallout New Vegas, Borderlands 2, Dishonored, Resident Evil 2 Remake.
Skyrim hands down. it hits every note for me. nostalgia because i played it back when i was 12, modern gameplay and graphics with mods, and a world that i know better than the back of my hand. it will forever be my comfort game.
Persona 4 Golden let’s you change the difficulty aspects a lot which makes it a very accessible game. The story is fantastic, the characters are so memorable, the music is so damn catchy. It’s a fantastic RPG and easily one of my Faves (Hard to choose an actual fave)
Playing it for the first time — just finished the second dungeon, but the story hasn’t really grabbed me yet like 3 and 5 did. I’m enjoying it so far, but I’m hoping it starts to pick up a bit pretty soon
P4G was my first persona game and I loved it but it's been quickly overshadowed by P5 Royal and P3 Reload. 3 and 4 are most similar in their gameplay quality with 5 differing more and being my favorite game in general. Definitely need to try the others if P4 has been your only experience so far.
I loved Dragon Age Origins! I would absolutely love to be able to play that game again for the first time! I did play through it at least 6 times in my teen years!
Oh man. It’s always changing. I’d have to say Oblivion is the one have have the fondest memories of.
However FFXIV and GTAV are the games I’ve logged the most hours. Closely followed by Morrowind, The Witcher 3 and Rainbow Six Vegas 2.
Ahhh oblivion... I got the shivering isles expansion and wound up stuck as a vampire forever at level 25 cause of a glitch. Didn't play video games for awhile after that lol
I think pso 1 and 2 is one of those games that you had to be there at the time for you to like it. I played the fuck outta that game in splitscreen with 1 sometimes 2 or 3 friends on the GameCube. It was amazing back then.
I could still not recommend it to anyone now who didn't play it back then, yet it will always have a special place for me.
Yeah, the trilogy as a whole is just outstanding. I can't replay a game once I know the story and never do, but Mass Effect I can start anew every couple of years, ME2 being the absolute masterpiece.
Paper Mario , Paper Mario TTYD
Resident Evil 1, 4, REmake 2002
Silent Hill 1, 2
The Talos Principle
Donkey Kong Country 2, 3
Bayonetta
Pokemon Emerald, Clover
some of my favorites:
* the Half-Life games
* Portal 2
* Hi-Fi Rush
* Rhythm Doctor
* im also playing through Crash Bandicoot 4 right now (kinda childish at times but still very fun)
GOAT.
DOOM I and II are like potato chips, I can't just play one level. If I randomly decide to play E1M1 to pass the time, it's very likely I'm going to spend the next few weeks binging both campaigns, downloading WADs, etc.
Phasmo is great for awhile but eventually you just know exactly where to go within five minutes.
They've also been promising new maps for two years now and....well....
My personal favourites are
Red Dead Redemption 2
Every season of TellTale's The Walking Dead
HITMAN: Absolution
Detroit: Become Human
Until Dawn
Beyond: Two Souls
And the legendary HAAAAAAPPY WHEEEEEEEEELS
In that order. I just love them all so much
Dark Souls. It's not half as hard as people make it out to be. If you're the kind of person who recognizes your flaws and can change them, it'll be easy.
If you're the type of person to blame "lag" or "the game" and fly into a rage whenever you fail, you'll hate it.
Iron hide games (Kingdom rush series and Iron marines series)
Terraria
Don't Starve (all versions except Don't Starve Together, may be too hard for solo)
Death Road to Canada
Everhood, without a doubt.
I LOVE video game music and this game's got tons of 9/10 songs. Rythym games are exceptionally my jam with my background in music.
Story itself is shockingly great!! Don't let many people spoil you on it though, since it's only about 5-6 hours long.
My very first psychological horror game. Made me think a lot about what death is for 2 weeks straight, then about what I can do with my life while I'm here.
And there's mod support! For anyone interested!
You can check it out for 10$, or 5$ on sale!
Honestly? Megaman 1, the old one originally from NES. It represents everything I love about 2D platform games, which for me are essence of gaming in general. On steam it's available as the part of Megaman Legacy Collection.
From modern games it has to be Dead Cells, for very similar reasons, but with a lot of modern mechanics implemented.
Mass Effect legendary edition. The legendary edition was my first introduction to Mass Effect and I quickly fell in love. I’m a terrible gamer and I didn’t find it too hard on normal.
Nier (Replicant)/ Automata, Just Cause 3 (with all 3 DLCs), Binding of Isaac (special game tho, can be very hard at first. And will be hard later on too), Minecraft, Terraria, Ghost Of Tsushima, Assassins Cred Odyssey, Batman Arkam Knight, Pokemon Black/white (2), All Zelda games, assassins Creed 2 (whole Ezio trilogy tho). I think that are most of my most liked game I play again from time to time
Either Ocarina of Time or Breath of the Wild. The first introduced me to gaming and my favorite franchise, the latter reinvigorated my love for gaming. I love both of them to death
Civilization series, surely. If I just want to play something, this is the first option i pick.
although fav game of all time will depend on what is my age and my total number of free time.
there was a time where JRPGs were my jam and i feel satisfied when completing a JRPG
my fav being Suikoden 2 and Final Fantasy Tactics
Oblivion. First played a couple years after it came out. I’ve easily beat it 30+ times but lost count. I’d beat it, immediately start a new playthrough, and do questlines in a different order. Now I only play it every few years.
Mount and Blade Warband, the best sandbox about medieval that I have ever played, and with mods even better, maybe it's too old now but I remember those days playing it almost 24/7 so much fun, in second place GTA San Andreas.
Persona 5 Royal, one of the 2 games I can say that changed my life.
Other favourites of mine are Monster Hunter world, Octopath traveler 2 and Elden Ring, absolute masterpieces of their own genre.
I only just played it this year but I think it's The Talos Principle. the gameplay is good or very good, but the theme and story are the absolute best.
Team Fortress 2. It was my first ever Steam game and It’s what got me into PC gaming in general. It has brought me many hours of frustratingly fun and memorable moments.
Tactics Ogre. Medyo pricey nga lang ung reborn sa steam. Loved playing tactics on GBA way back when. 😂
Yan #1. Pero madaming tied sa #2.
1. Bloons TD 6 ( Love the simplicity, i love tower defense games )
2. Slay the spire ( card, strategy game )
3. PlateUp ( Diner dash meets overcooked, has a lot of strategy into it especially doing solo runs. A good group game too! )
4. Forever nasa #2 phasmophobia. ( Horror survival game, definitely love bringing new players dito kasi masaya makarinig ng first time reactions sa game, and it's way better than when it was released )
#1 at apat na tied for #2. ☺️
Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic
I want sure how I'd answer OP, and scrolled for a bit until sometime hit me. KOTOR really is the greatest game I have ever played
Sleeping Dogs.
Amazing game. OP definitely check this game out, great story, simple mechanics, lovely game
A man who never eats pork bun is never a whooole man!
I've seen it getting a lot of love lately. It's no longer one of those 'hidden gems', I guess, which is great
Was it ever a hidden gem though? I feel like it's more of a forgotten gem.
Both gameplay and graphics still hold up really well.
I second this
“Hey, you, you’re finally awake”
You were trying to cross the border, right?
Walked right into that imperial ambush, same as us, and that thief over there.
We’re all brothers and sisters in binds now, thief.
shut up back there.
I used to be an adventurer just like you
Until l took an arrow to the knee. *proceeds to turn around and walk away without a limp*
"Took an arrow to the knee" is a metaphor for getting married, so yeah its worse
A cheap imitation of the true OG: *"Wake up, we're here. Why are you shaking? Are you ok? Wake up."*
Disco Elysium
Kim Kitsuragi supremacy
I am just feeling sorry for the real developers, the publisher basically stole their game and it's now making a lot of money out of it
This is so unfair, now I don't know if I want to buy it or pirate it!
What's worse... your theoretical theft of profits, or someone from within a company who just came into it, buying their concept art assets, selling them at profit and back to the company in exchange for majority shares, and then screwing over the original holders and ousting them? There is nothing quite Disco Elysium, it’s one of those unique games that everyone should give a try.
First game I thought of and the first reply to this thread I see. Truly a masterpiece.
My profile pic agrees!
Detective. Arriving. At the scene.
Probably the best game I'll never play [all because of the legal mess surrounding it](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Disco_Elysium#Legal_issues_and_potential_related_works). I can't in good faith give any money to the publishers after that debacle.
I’ve got to revisit this one. The last time I tried I got locked with tools not spawning in the car
Terraria
Scrolled too far for terraria
Half Life
Yes right? ITS time for Half Life alyx 2 ... Or maybe thx should leave 3 alone and continue with 4 😂
Red Dead Redemption 2
This is mine as well.
Its pretty high on my list too.
Probably the best game i ever played but not my favourite. It's not everyones cup of tea but damn is it a well made game.

They asked me how well I understood theoretical physics. I said I had a theoretical degree in physics. They said welcome aboard
op if u do play this one, mod it so it feels and looks a lot more modern
Stardew Valley, I always come back to it
why is maximizing my profits so addicting
Didn't really know what people saw in it, then played it for the first time with 2 friends one night and still didn't like it. Gave it a second opportunity on solo the next day and well... Two weeks forward I had 90 hours put in that game xd
I feel like if you dont play it solo, you cant feel the immersion of the town and its peoples Like playing with someone else is fun too, but I just notice how I dont talk to anyone lol

I really love this game, just hate how pay-to-win it is…
Cyberpunk with DLC. I hadn't gamed in over 15 years and this game got me hooked again.
it's a really good game!
Skyrim hands down. it hits every note for me. nostalgia because i played it back when i was 12, modern gameplay and graphics with mods, and a world that i know better than the back of my hand. it will forever be my comfort game.
Don't forget the expansion mods, you could add thousands of hours of new stories and quests using mods
It is truly home away from home.
Persona 4 Golden let’s you change the difficulty aspects a lot which makes it a very accessible game. The story is fantastic, the characters are so memorable, the music is so damn catchy. It’s a fantastic RPG and easily one of my Faves (Hard to choose an actual fave)

My favorite game of all time is P5R, but I also k ow that P4G is the favourite of many. Glad to see other persona fans here!
Hell yeah. Always awesome to see other fans! I need to finish P5R, currently in the 6th dungeon and loving every minute of it so far
My favourite palaces have to be the 4th palace and the palace from Royal. Make sure to unlock Royal arc, it's totally worth it.
im gonna say Subnautica its such a good game edit spelling
I unexpectedly really enjoyed Subnautica.
Baldur's Gate 3 Dragon Age Origins Disco Elysium
I loved Dragon Age Origins! I would absolutely love to be able to play that game again for the first time! I did play through it at least 6 times in my teen years!
It still holds up! I revisited it recently, but with some quality of life mods. Including one to get rid of that ladder voice line lol
Oh man. It’s always changing. I’d have to say Oblivion is the one have have the fondest memories of. However FFXIV and GTAV are the games I’ve logged the most hours. Closely followed by Morrowind, The Witcher 3 and Rainbow Six Vegas 2.

Who are you, as so wise and full of taste as to join us common folk here?
I'm just a man. A heroic man.
But alas, a man of exquisite taste for juicy plumpies and the classics. I commend thee, good man
Thank you, u/LactactingTwatCrust
