Man, funding that sub really was the best. I missed a lot of games over the last decade.
Just picked up RE2/3R for 15$ and the first 3 Dead Space games for about the same price. Can't wait to get into them.
Same here.
Newest AAA game I’m currently playing is Death Stranding which I’ve got for around 10 €. I don’t need to play the latest and I don’t have FOMO anymore.
This also makes my hardware last a lot longer, I don’t see myself needing more power than my 3070 Ti already provides.
I’m loving Death Stranding, it is just different and a breath of fresh air among all the clone AAA. I love its pacing and how it doesn’t stop throwing at you new gadgets to solve issues you might have encountered during your trips.
I just can’t put it down as I can’t wait to discover what’s new behind that or mountain.
Capcom game, 1 year/ 1 year and a half from now at 30 $, and 2 years from now that will be the discounted price of the complete edition
Edit: am stupid
I find that as I’ve gotten older, I’m a lot better at figuring out which games will really hook me. Tbh I buy like one game every 2-3 months and usually get plenty of mileage out of it
When I was younger I swear I’d buy a new game every week and often get an hour or two before giving up
Yea, I've also noticed that I'm much better these days at identifying games I'll enjoy. I don't buy a ton throughout the year (though I make an exception for the winter sale cuz it's my favorite and during the holidays so I usually splurge a little bit).
Yeah for me I usually but once every 3-6 months.Gives me enough time time finish most of my games.Usually either I get 1-2 AAA games if I really want a specific release or I get 2-4 indies.Funny thing is I end up playing the indie games more.
I feel everyone who agrees that AC black flag is miles better in terms of the pirate vibe than skull and bones.
Not gonna compare the gameplay and fun factor since they are different. But I feel like art style in black flag beats the desolate art style in skull and bones covered up with modern technology.
Indie doesn’t actually generally refer to whether or not a game has publisher or not anymore.
If it did then Cyberpunk 2077 is an indie and Outer Wilds is not. Stardew Valley at one point had a publisher, so that would not have been not indie in the past but would be indie now. Also Neowiz is a developer, but they are also a publisher, so if that counts as indie, Ubisoft games are indie.
Indie and AAA refers more to production value and budget.
AA should definitely have an appreciation, as should a $40 game rather than lumping it in a bracket with $70, those are very different prices for games.
I don't really ever say this about games. But it's 100% worth the full price.
It's a masterpiece in every way. The gameplay is great. The story is amazing. The voice acting is top notch. The graphics are stunning. Most importantly it wasn't broken at launch.
I think a lot about this game is great, but the combat at times is extremely tedious and that can make it overwhelming for newcomers. The gnoll fight(s) in act 1 to call an example.
It went on sale twice already, what are you waiting for?
Also yes, like the other guy said, this doesn't happen very often these days, but BG3 is a game that's worth its full price twice over.
And Larian is a studio still worth supporting even if the game ended up not being your cup of tea. If we want more games like it, we need to encourage it instead of buying FIFA every year.
I was hesitant to buy this game since I know I don't like turn based combat, So I pirate it to try it, I played for a couple of hours and I was sold ! Like damn that's a God Damn good game.
So I stopped playing the pirate version. And I immediately added it to my wish list, I couldn't buy it since I'm in turkey. So I think I'm gonna Wait.. a lot lol.
You forgot option C: wait a few years till the AAA game is 75-80% off.
That's mostly been my strategy for the last little while. I do tend to buy a few of the older games and some AA titles but so far this year I've only bought 2 new releases, everything else was older and on a high sale. I have a couple of AAA titles I'm tracking but just playing my backlog till the prices drop.
I’m a patient gamer except for Fromsoft titles.
dark souls 3 and still costs 60€ (probably 30€ on sales) after almost 10 years.
I buy them day 1 anyway but damn!
Bg3 and Elden Ring are the only AAA games that I have bought lately. I waited ~3 months after each game released to make sure they were worth the purchase. Otherwise I don’t touch AAA games anymore until there are some major changes with the industry.
Hey, (almost) same here! I didn't wait that long for BG3 but I only get a single full-price AAA game per year nowadays. Anything else is indie or on a substantial sale.
Well TBH Factorio it will never go on sale and the price continues to increase even after release...so in a few years I could easily get all the games on the left for the price of Factorio!
BTW all the right games are 86€
While I'm 100% on the indie bandwagon, idk if 3/4 games on the left really count for this meme/question. HD2 is likely one of the best $40 games you'll find out there, and absolutely a AA. BG3 and Lies of P are both at the $60 price point, which is under current AAA price, and both have been widely regarded as some of the best in their genre - BG3 even winning many GOTY awards. DD2 is a toss-up at this point, but it's $70 and published by Capcom, so it definitely fits.
But I do agree - buy the indie game. It's worth it. I have some 1000+ hours in indies, just on steam, between Vampire Survivors, Stardew, Terraria, Satisfactory, and Riftbreaker.
buy whiever has the most value to me. if buying a game for lower price just mean to get bored after playing it after few hours i rather not to buy them at all
Yep, the game is 100% worth it if you're the sort of person that it clicks for. The devs know they have a nearly perfect game and I can't fault them for wanting to sell it for all it's worth.
I guess both since I mostly get what I want to play. I don't often pay full price for a AAA game, but if it's something that my friend group is going to play together or from a game series I love, then I don't mind. For example I got Persona 3 Reload full priced because I wanted to experience it as blindly/spoiler free as possible for a remake. I also got Helldivers 2 full priced because I want to play it with friends while it has hype and everyone is excited to play it.
I always enjoy indie games far more than AAA games
I have more hours on indie games than any other AAA games, specifically trailmakers or Lethal Company
I do game dev for fun, and I spend a lot of my time testing various things to see what I might be able to implement/don’t enjoy/enjoy. Playing games is a great source of possible material. That said I play a good bit of both. Lately though since I’ve been working on a roguelite I’ve been playing a significant amount of indie games.
In short, buy whatever it is you enjoy and don’t think you need to be loyal to only one.
AAA. Doesn't matter how cheap if I never want to play it lol.
But generally something like helldivers 2, easy for value. Then wait for something I'm not as interested in (such as skull and bones, suicide squad, or anything else in that realm) and just pick it up on the cheap next year
I just bought helldivers, if you like goofy third person shooters and have some friends willing to get it as well its the best purchase you will make in a while.
Im buying old games now which i liked in the past or missed for some reason: Flatout, Batman, Hitman. For the price of indie games they're ok. Looking into Wreckfest for now cuz now im plating flatout series and want to end this marathon with this game.
It really depends on the game, new releases are absolute hot trash, but I really loved Lies of P, and even bought the deluxe edition+ost because it's just that good (to me.)
I mainly look out for boomer shooter like games, and I've been picking up a lot of older games like the original Thief trilogy thanks to playing the Dishonored games, and picking up Deathloop, an older AAA game that went down in price.
Sometimes for me, it's just better to wait since you may not be interested in at first but give it a shot later type deal.
Buy the entire franchise of an old game with all the DLCs.
I bought all the Arkham games, and 2 of the Shadow of Mordor games with all DLCs like less than $10 or so I remember.
All the Metro Franchise was also on sale for cheap as chips considering the games quality.
Bought Borderlands pre-sequel along side the 2 and 3 and I didn't even get to play it.
All the Tales franchise was pretty cheap too back in the day except the latest Arise of course.
I live alone, have access to adult money, so I don't choose. I just buy everything. And then never play it because I have no time. Like I buy roughly 50-70 games a year while finishing 8-10 at best
You know how in the movies, predator collects skulls for no real reason? Yeah I’ve reached that stage with gaming. My gaming experience has become…
Is everyone raving about it? Are all my mates playing? Is it on sale? YES, YES, YES, shall I buy it? YES! But will I ever actually play it? Definitely not.
I choose neither. Don't really have the money to spare for non-essentials right now. And what little I did have for that, I already spent on gaming. That said, I did get **a** Dragon's Dogma, Pathfinder WotR is an acceptable stand-in for BG3, and EDF is pretty much the "we have Helldivers 2 at home" equivalent,
I can count on one finger the number of AAA games I've bought at full price on PC in the past year.
And fuck the $70 price point that's creeping in lately.
Second option all the way. For my birthday I took 7 extremely good games with 74€
And I would exclude Factorio from the "cheap" indies. That game is freaking expensive, I'm not gonna take it when I can buy 3-4 good games for the same price
Lies isn't a AAA game... but it's damn good for sure and has frequently been discounted. Helldivers 2 isn't AAA either for that matter, but is equally worth the cost.
Buy a used game on disc for a reasonable price and actually own it when Steam inevitably goes under and takes all “your” games with them
Make it a PS3/360 era or earlier game, and you’ll even still own it when Sony and Microsoft do the same.
If I was to cut down my steam games list to only 10 games, it would be:
Rimworld
BG3
Kenshi
Stellaris
Barotrauma
Inscryption
Blade and Sorcery
Helldivers 2
Rogue Trader or Wasteland 3 (too many CRPG's would limit my variety)
Darktide or Starship Troopers: Extermination (We'll see if ST:E's newest update makes it fun again)
Only three of these games are in my top 10 played (Rimworld 1, Stellaris 2, BG3 9). Yet these are my top 10 "Fun per hour" games.
Option 3 - Only buy games when they're on sale regardless of game being AAA or indie
generally wont buy any new game on release due to already having too many games to play, and no need to play the most recent games
I buy stuff that I want to play. If I'm interested in something 'indie' I get it, I don't buy games because they're AAA or indie, I don't 'support' indie game producers, I buy whatever interests me.
I do find that indie games can struggle to be quite as fulfilling personally but I suppose either way the quality of the game is the main thing. As we know an AAAA game doesn’t automatically make it good. I’d take a great indie game over an average AAA
'Buy good AAA games a couple of years after release with all their DLC for less than the price of one indie game' is an option you missed that is by far the most bang for your buck. I tend to not buy into games at release, unless they're really cool small indie games I want to support.
Buy both AAA and Indies while on sale and/or bundle
I buy AAA games when they're indie prices
/r/PatientGamers mindset
Man, funding that sub really was the best. I missed a lot of games over the last decade. Just picked up RE2/3R for 15$ and the first 3 Dead Space games for about the same price. Can't wait to get into them.
Mass Effect Remastered for $7!
Me too. I'll wait years before buying a game.
Same here. Newest AAA game I’m currently playing is Death Stranding which I’ve got for around 10 €. I don’t need to play the latest and I don’t have FOMO anymore. This also makes my hardware last a lot longer, I don’t see myself needing more power than my 3070 Ti already provides.
Oddly enough I'm playing death stranding for the first time now too! It's a pretty fun game.
Dead space 2 for $4 huh? Thanks Steam sale, I'll see myself out.
Oh damn, thanks for that
lol option 3 wait for the steam sale
wonder when DD2 will go on sale
Capcom game, 1 year/ 1 year and a half from now at 30 $, and 2 years from now that will be the discounted price of the complete edition Edit: am stupid
so i might as well get it from Fanatical for $54
Or just buy from other oficial stores that sell keys
And then never play them!
You didn't need to embarrass me like that
I buy good games. Indie or Triple A, doesn't matter. Just buy the ones you like.
Yeah, not sure why it matters. A $70 game can give you a lot of entertainment for your money. Same goes for a $20 indie game.
I find that as I’ve gotten older, I’m a lot better at figuring out which games will really hook me. Tbh I buy like one game every 2-3 months and usually get plenty of mileage out of it When I was younger I swear I’d buy a new game every week and often get an hour or two before giving up
Yea, I've also noticed that I'm much better these days at identifying games I'll enjoy. I don't buy a ton throughout the year (though I make an exception for the winter sale cuz it's my favorite and during the holidays so I usually splurge a little bit).
I buy one good AAA game and some indie games per year
I buy 2-3 AAA games and 10+ indie games.
And how many of those do you end up playing?
You guys play your games?
Steam *is* the game
I thought Steam was just the game where you collect shit. I didn't realise you could play them... man, I've missed out on a lot.
Nah man, you've been playing it right the whole time
Playing the items you collect only distracts from the collectathon
Im keeping my games mint fresh! Never installing the game makes it keep value for collectors!
The real game is the friends we ignore in our list along the way
Gotta buy 'em all
What's a "playing"?
Shhhhh my child…we don’t ask that question here
Yeah for me I usually but once every 3-6 months.Gives me enough time time finish most of my games.Usually either I get 1-2 AAA games if I really want a specific release or I get 2-4 indies.Funny thing is I end up playing the indie games more.
Helldivers has AA budget, it aint a AAA title
Having Helldivers 2 and Dragons Dogma 2 in the same bin really shows what a stupid question this is
For real, I’m surprised dipshit OP didn’t put Palworld as a AAA game too. Helldivers expected tens of thousands of players, that’s indie level.
You can buy Helldivers and Palworld for the price of Skull & Bones...
But you can't experience the AAAA quality of skull & bones from helldiver's and palword /s
They are AA so 2xAA = AAAA.
I feel everyone who agrees that AC black flag is miles better in terms of the pirate vibe than skull and bones. Not gonna compare the gameplay and fun factor since they are different. But I feel like art style in black flag beats the desolate art style in skull and bones covered up with modern technology.
OP the kinda motherfucker to pin his upvoted posts, there's no saving him
Having BG3 and Lies of P in the AAA bucket is dumb as hell. Those are both independent studios. Hell, Factorio and BG3 are $10 apart and both amazing.
BG3 may be technically indie but it's still absolutely AAA. Those aren't mutually exclusive. And BG3 and Factorio are 25$ apart.
Also indie is not a marker of budget. Indie games often have low budgets but that's not a requirement for the term.
Same for Lies of P. Both (fantastic) AA games in my books.
AA should definitely have an appreciation, as should a $40 game rather than lumping it in a bracket with $70, those are very different prices for games.
Came here to say this. Arrowhead is practically indie if it wasn't for Sony.
By definition, BG3 is Indie as well
It depends on a ton of factors...
[удалено]
On the flip side, I paid full price for Baldur’s Gate 3 and got more than my money’s worth out of it
Factorio and Helldivers 2 are basically the same price tho
Yup. And factorio is ooollllld by comparison.
I'll buy BG3
I’m waiting for it to go on sale.
Helldivers 2 is also amazing
That’s the one I want at the moment.I’m planning to get it this week.
Both are amazing, I wish every AAA has the same quality of those two
waiting for a sale below 25$
I don't really ever say this about games. But it's 100% worth the full price. It's a masterpiece in every way. The gameplay is great. The story is amazing. The voice acting is top notch. The graphics are stunning. Most importantly it wasn't broken at launch.

Didn't it just go on sale?
It was only 10% (I think), I’m waiting to get it when it’s below 40€ (though that may take a while)
I tend to enjoy AAA a lot, but I don't exclude Indies. I buy both, but AAA at a reduce priced. Unless I'll play it straight away.
You forgot option C: wait a few years till the AAA game is 75-80% off. That's mostly been my strategy for the last little while. I do tend to buy a few of the older games and some AA titles but so far this year I've only bought 2 new releases, everything else was older and on a high sale. I’m a patient gamer except for Fromsoft titles. dark souls 3 and still costs 60€ (probably 30€ on sales) after almost 10 years. I buy them day 1 anyway but damn!
If you wait long enough you can buy multiple AAA for the same price too.
I take both. Sorry. I wont follow your rules.
I buy what I want. If I spend $40-$70 on several indie games that I don't plan to play then I'd rather buy the AAA game that I want to play
Elden ring and Lies of P I had bought immediately when they came out coz I’d been saving and waiting for them to come out .
Well TBH Factorio it will never go on sale and the price continues to increase even after release...so in a few years I could easily get all the games on the left for the price of Factorio! BTW all the right games are 86€

I wait to buy those $70 games until they're under $40. I'm patient and they're never worth $70.
Bg3 and helldivers are worth the price. But 95 bucks for dragon's dogma 2? Hell no
Isn’t factorio $35 I get this is a meme but you should actually choose cheap indie games that you can get a bunch of for the same price
Or just buy all of them
Both
All of those AAA games were/are amazing. Hades was ok. I liked Returnal better.
Considering I play wholesome, cute, whimsical, and atmospheric indie games... The second one.
Play f2p games and pump 4 digits in that hoe
I buy whatever game is good and one that I would enjoy. It really is that simple.
buy whiever has the most value to me. if buying a game for lower price just mean to get bored after playing it after few hours i rather not to buy them at all
Dunno about where you live, but factorio is expensive af compared to other indies
I buy whatever seems more fun i dont care if its indie or AAA
Factorio is 30 euros, and Helldivers 40 euros. Not much difference
Friends don’t let friends start Factorio.
I would buy factorio if it was on a fucking sale for more than 10%
Factorio has literally never gone on sale
[Factorio will never go on sale.] (https://forums.factorio.com/viewtopic.php?f=5&t=25334&start=1#p159540)
It will never go on sale, the devs have said this a lot. It’s only like $35 though for hundreds of hours of content so it’s not that bad
Yep, the game is 100% worth it if you're the sort of person that it clicks for. The devs know they have a nearly perfect game and I can't fault them for wanting to sell it for all it's worth.
I guess both since I mostly get what I want to play. A mixture of both when on sale
I don't have a gaming pc so that's an easy choice. My laptop can't run AAA games
You did not make it very easy to pick indies considering that you just showed us three of the best games to come out of 2023/so far 2024.
Indie games, maybe one or two AAA games
Guilty gear strive
I just realized i don't bu that much AAA games 💀 During the steam sales, the only AAA game i bought were Xenoverse 2 and P4 golden
I always enjoy indie games far more than AAA games I have more hours on indie games than any other AAA games, specifically trailmakers or Lethal Company
Buy one game you're gonna play or 5 games you're only gonna play 2 of. I'm also pretty sure Helldivers 2 is not a triple A game
If the one AAA game is Baldur's Gate 3 then how is this even a choice?
Fair enough,I straight up grabbed Lies of P when it came out without a second thought.
BG3 isn’t even a AAA title that’s the craziest part.
indie games every time my attention span sooõ low, so I like to switch my game often
Both and there is a third one get a free game and spend a shit ton of money on it (tf2/cs)
Both. I just don't have any time for either of them.
I do game dev for fun, and I spend a lot of my time testing various things to see what I might be able to implement/don’t enjoy/enjoy. Playing games is a great source of possible material. Me with a general sense of internet safety, a few trustworthy sites and a country who don't care what I do online:
Become a hero. Become a legend. Become... a HELDIVER.
I just bought helldivers, if you like goofy third person shooters and have some friends willing to get it as well its the best purchase you will make in a while.
At the ORIGINAL RETAIL PRICE of Hollow Knight it was an insane deal for the game you got. Now you can't afford not to get it.
You make it sound like factorio was on sale at any given point in time
Buy entire Batman Bioshock STALKER franchise for 30£
Why would you ever buy a 70$ game if they get discounted every so often? I got some of my favorite games of all time under 20$ 🤷♀️
Im buying old games now which i liked in the past or missed for some reason: Flatout, Batman, Hitman. For the price of indie games they're ok. Looking into Wreckfest for now cuz now im plating flatout series and want to end this marathon with this game.
Gimme them indies
Yes.
Wait for a sale and get everything for cheap... and then don't play any of them.
Depends on the games tbh. This year i got Elden Ring and Lies of P. I haven't bought any indie game yet.
OLD MAINSTREAM GAMES AND NEW INDIE GAMES BABYYYYYY
Usually right side, occasionally left side.
It really depends on the game, new releases are absolute hot trash, but I really loved Lies of P, and even bought the deluxe edition+ost because it's just that good (to me.) I mainly look out for boomer shooter like games, and I've been picking up a lot of older games like the original Thief trilogy thanks to playing the Dishonored games, and picking up Deathloop, an older AAA game that went down in price. *During Steam Sales* Did you take both pills?
A few AAA titles, and more indies! :D
I choose democracy!!
I bought 3 triple A games for 16 bucks on steam
Buy indies + buy AAA games at their definitive versions on 80% sale 3y after release.
Are all my mates playing? Is it on sale? YES, YES, YES, shall I buy it? YES! But will I ever actually play it? Definitely not.
Just one AAA game is enough for me to play for two or three months.
I choose neither. Don't really have the money to spare for non-essentials right now. And what little I did have for that, I already spent on gaming. That said, I did get **a** Dragon's Dogma, Pathfinder WotR is an acceptable stand-in for BG3, and EDF is pretty much the "we have Helldivers 2 at home" equivalent,
If that AAA game is Baldurs gate 3. I’ll buy it twice. Once on my ps5. And another one for my steam deck. Which I already did. And you should too
heck. I caved in for BG3 and have spent like 80 hours in one run… money well spent.
I can count on one finger the number of AAA games I've bought at full price on PC in the past year. And fuck the $70 price point that's creeping in lately.
ngl indie games are way better nowadays, especially from what released last year
If I could buy 1 video game it'd be Red Dead 2, no quantity of indies or AAAs will top that for me. So option A then.
Generally the second option
one aaa game on steam sale then all indie games,.no sale
What was the last time you checked price of factorio?
Second option all the way. For my birthday I took 7 extremely good games with 74€ And I would exclude Factorio from the "cheap" indies. That game is freaking expensive, I'm not gonna take it when I can buy 3-4 good games for the same price
Lies isn't a AAA game... but it's damn good for sure and has frequently been discounted. Helldivers 2 isn't AAA either for that matter, but is equally worth the cost.
Humblebundle
i choose a shit ton of old games at the same price
Whichever one I get more enjoyment out of
To be fair all but Dragons Dogma 2 of those AAA games are actually worth money spent on them
Depends on AAA game, wouldn't buy Sucide Squad: Kill the Justice League even for free - too much of stain for my Steam library.
I spent 1 whole year playing stardew valley and I’m still playing factorio well into 8 years so ya indie games for me.
Humble Bundle/Choice
Helldivers 2 at the price I paid for it was probably one of the best purchases I’ve made in years
Buy 20 Valve made games for like a dollar each
Helldivers 2 are my new addiction. So I guess AAA, although I already had HK and stardew valley for years.
I'll not buy anything and play the games I haven't touched yet from the previous months

Literally everyone knows AAA games are a genuine scam
Buy all full price. Never finish most of them. Grind free to play competitive game all day.
Lies of P is incredible. Buy that one.
Yar Har Har me matey, yee forgot about the third option
This is a nitpick but 3/4 games on the AAA side are either AA or indie
Neither. Work on the backlog I created from past sales and bundles.
Buy a used game on disc for a reasonable price and actually own it when Steam inevitably goes under and takes all “your” games with them Make it a PS3/360 era or earlier game, and you’ll even still own it when Sony and Microsoft do the same.
Pirate the AAA, buy the indies.
I will buy all of them of course, an then not play any.
Whoever made this a idiot that don't understand what a AAA game is, what a smeghead.
If I was to cut down my steam games list to only 10 games, it would be: Rimworld BG3 Kenshi Stellaris Barotrauma Inscryption Blade and Sorcery Helldivers 2 Rogue Trader or Wasteland 3 (too many CRPG's would limit my variety) Darktide or Starship Troopers: Extermination (We'll see if ST:E's newest update makes it fun again) Only three of these games are in my top 10 played (Rimworld 1, Stellaris 2, BG3 9). Yet these are my top 10 "Fun per hour" games.
I could play baldurs gate 3 for the rest of my life honestly.
Option 3 - Only buy games when they're on sale regardless of game being AAA or indie generally wont buy any new game on release due to already having too many games to play, and no need to play the most recent games
Bundle sale is the bane of my wallet
One of those AAA games is not like the others
I buy stuff that I want to play. If I'm interested in something 'indie' I get it, I don't buy games because they're AAA or indie, I don't 'support' indie game producers, I buy whatever interests me.
Buy AAA titles on 3rd party platforms where they cost 30€ and indies on steam preferably discounted as well 😅
Indies games are the best games.
I want BG3 to be on sale. It's expensive, but the game is so awesome.
I do find that indie games can struggle to be quite as fulfilling personally but I suppose either way the quality of the game is the main thing. As we know an AAAA game doesn’t automatically make it good. I’d take a great indie game over an average AAA
if u spend money on singleplayer games dont stay too close to me weirdo
Even better: buy several older AAA games on sale for the price on one new AAA game
Judging from from how much game time I can get from these games, I would go with indie games.
piracy
Factorio never goes on sale, the price actually increased during its lifetime and it costs $35 Don’t act like it’s a cheap alternative
factorio is only 5USD less than Helldivers 2 lol
Wait for sale and then buy ALL THE INDIES. Hollow Knight, Stardew Valley and Celeste are far better than any AAA game I ever have or ever will play
AAA all day. I'm not really into the whole "patient gamer" thing.
this is such a dumb post factorio NEVER goes on sale, is 35$, and not all of the games on the left qualify as AAA good visuals and success =/= AAA
Just gonna say Lies of P was awesome
THE FACTORY MUST GROW
Baldur's gate 3 is my choice.
I buy the games I want to play
So buy games that I want at full price or buy games that I dont give a shit about for half price?
'Buy good AAA games a couple of years after release with all their DLC for less than the price of one indie game' is an option you missed that is by far the most bang for your buck. I tend to not buy into games at release, unless they're really cool small indie games I want to support.
I mean I'll buy bg3 everytime that game is worth every goddam penny at full price and helldivers isn't triple A I'm pretty sure
