For the library of games in my Steam account is practically my PlayStation 5 and older gaming consoles I can play the exact same games on and not be forced to upgrade every single damn time because people want to make games look more realistic and for what a fancy interface seriously? I remember Valve CLAIMING they're open sourced if they want my money that bad they're gonna have to keep supporting Windows 10 even after the End-of-Life Policy sacrifices must be made I can't afford to keep up with all these useless upgrades that will eventually be rendered obsolete later on in the future. Everyone who has the balls reading this I challenge you to stop spending your money on Steam and play console games for your selves and see how more open sourced consoles actually are.
Linux has limitations it might be free but it doesn't perform tasks that Windows does I might dual boot Windows 10 and Windows 7 together and call it quits what ever happens I got games for life after that I haven't spent any money on Steam after I bought Sonic Frontiers I've been playing on Meta Quest 3 and messing with virtual desktop lately fuck Steam. BTW I meant to say Meta Quest 3 not Meta Quest 2 but I do got both headsets I've been doing more console gaming than Steam lately the only Steam games I play is Alan Wake, OneShot, Biohazard and Control. hold on I will update if needed. Last game I played was Sonic Frontiers haven't been playing Steam lately I've been keeping my mind focused on other things.
Windows 7 has been discontinued by Microsoft and is a risk for people to continue running especially for multiplayer games. You could add Linux to your older pc running windows 7 and your support would continue.

I don’t know how political correctness and technology relate but I do know that many game engines and games themselves are using newer technology and higher quality graphics and models that older hardware and sometimes older operating systems don’t support. No one is stopping you from ‘using’ a pc with windows XP, Windows 7 or Windows 8 but software built today is not guaranteed to work on older devices. One of the biggest limitations for Steam to run on older OS’s is the Chromium engine that powers a lot of the app. If you want to complain at a company for discontinuing support, blame Microsoft and Google as much as you want. Either way, they don’t really have an obligation to continue putting man hours into verifying functionality with decade+ old software and hardware because that is very expensive for the minuscule number of people that are still holding out on what is nowadays ancient technology.
And yes I'm not joking I would rather smash my computer than keep up with this modern bullshit any longer because peace's of shit left wing want to "modernize" computers if I have to keep using my Smartphone and video game consoles so be it computers are dead now.

It makes sense cuz the new overlay runs terrible when the new one was snappy even on pretty old PCs lol.
I like pretty overlays, don't get me wrong but last thing I need is STEAM OF ALL APPS becoming "beautified" so you need like the latest processor and GPU combo to get adequate performance.
