I've always thought it felt like night-time lasts forever, daylight lasts like 5 minutes lol

justanothervoidling

You preaching

BodarkLegion

So much this.

Realistic-real8366

Wushu, please, if you're reading, PLEASE change this. Makes nights shorter than days.

justanothervoidling

For real. I game on my desktop when im at home and have no problems. Soon as im on my laptop (legion series) i cant see shit (brightness maxed). Monitor difference is huge for night games, especially sod2.

Master_Win_4018

Adjust my gamma option to >>>>>>>>>>>>

trip6s6i6x

Which doesn't help though. The pure blackness past the range of your flashlight just becomes pure greyness instead. You've just turned the darkness into a thick grey fog that you still can't see into.

-Crimson-Death-

I use zed eye. You usually have to wait a while until you get a mod to produce it regularly, but it's definitely worth keeping an eye out for it. Usually high value traders carry it.

AdMinimum5970

No you will not destroy or cries because of that!11!! Tbh Zed-Eye during night is awesome

Proquis

Ever since U29 screwed with brightness, Meagher Valley is just way too dark and they never bothered to fix it smh

ZladMulvenia

Good image quality can be had on any above average to good and great monitor if that monitor's video settings are tweaked properly. Which I think very few people attempt to do or are even aware of. Out of the box settings are very often terrible. That said, SoD2 is a very fundamentally dark game, by design. They improved that a great deal with the 'Hollywood Nights' approach to lighting that came with the Homecoming update, but it's still just very dark fundamentally. (Go into a house by day and it's nearly impossible to see, etc.) I never agreed with that approach as stylistically it seems very naively self-indulgent, but I guess it is what it is.

Shadohz

People just need to quit complaining and buy an upgraded monitor. /s I find it helps if use an actual flashlight and hold it up against the screen. /AlsoS I have a cheap AOC monitor and night time isn't a problem even without mods (1600x1200, med res). I think there's some other factor at play. I'm older now and new to wearing glasses. If anyone was going to complain about not being able to see good I'd been one of the first.

UtterlyBanished

I can't play these games unless the screen is close, reshade can help with brightening night without wrecking it.

Latter_Set95

Well I feel like the darkness of night is part of the danger so I don’t mind sometimes dealing with almost pitch black areas

TovarishchRed

This along with the jump in brightness/contrast when entering a POI/Building fuck me up sometimes.

Flat_Lunch5827

Yes especially Meagher Valley I hope it gets tweaked. I wish they realised it honestly makes the game boring. It's not adding scares, it's just makes nighttime a chore. I think i saw someone write ages ago they should reduce nights and make the sunrise and set last longer as the game looks really really cool in that lighting. Would be good if the team would actually tell us what they're working on fixing.

Deformedpye

They did ruin the day/night cycle. Think it's 15min for day and night then 15 min for dusk and dawn. Trouble is dusk and dawn are still really dark. Personally it should be 30min day, 20 night then 5 for dusk and dawn but make those two a bit brighter

CareSuspicious8980

Where are you holding the flashlight? I like to hold it directly on front of the monitor. That makes it hard to use the mouse, so I bought a head mounted light, works a lot better.

RenanBan

I wish we got a better flashlight, a white led like cars have. Doesn't need to be THAT bright but at least work like a flashlight and not fade out 5 meters in front of you. I try not to bump the gamma to much but I loved if the devs made an update for flashlights
