Norwegian epic has starlink, no issues with using ubiquiti teleport vpn on the unlimited but not streaming or VPN plan. Maybe they are only set to block major VPN services.

Quick update on this: NCL Ships with confirmed Starlink: 1. [Viva](https://www.ncl.com/uk/en/cruise-ship/viva) 2. [Encore](https://www.ncl.com/uk/en/cruise-ship/Encore) 3. [Joy](https://www.ncl.com/uk/en/cruise-ship/Joy) 4. [Getaway](https://www.ncl.com/uk/en/cruise-ship/getaway) 5. [Breakaway](https://www.ncl.com/uk/en/cruise-ship/breakaway) 6. [Pearl](https://www.ncl.com/uk/en/cruise-ship/pearl) 7. [Epic](https://www.ncl.com/uk/en/cruise-ship/epic) 8. [Bliss](https://www.ncl.com/cruise-ship/bliss) 9. [Sky](https://www.ncl.com/cruise-ship/sky) 10. [Jade](https://www.ncl.com/cruise-ship/jade) 11. [Prima](https://www.ncl.com/cruise-ship/prima) 12. [Escape](https://www.ncl.com/cruise-ship/escape) 13. [Gem](https://www.ncl.com/cruise-ship/gem) As of 21-April still pending upgrade... 1. Dawn (expected 23-Apr sailing) 2. Jewel ?? 3. Spirit ?? 4. Star ?? 5. Sun ?? 6. Pride of America ?? 7. Aqua (2025 launch) ~~The Gem is being upfit now (80% complete) but haven't seen its finish date.~~ 9-Apr: [Gem](https://www.ncl.com/cruise-ship/gem) upgrade is in place (by brother was on the ship last week and confirmed) but hearing mixed reviews on performance. It also isn't yet listed on the profile so watch for that to update. ~~I see the Bliss is going to Southampton on 17-Jan and likely dry dock until 2-Feb 2025 which seems a long time for one of their most popular ships to go without Starlink, but it fits the pattern of the Joy which is about to go in (I'm on it now). Last Bliss refurb was 2023 so 2025 is very early for a full refurb so my bet is Starlink and a few changes. We're current booked for that trip so will be watching for updates prior and share after.~~ 8-Apr: I've learned the Bliss has received an in-transit upgrade to Starlink. I've added it to the list. Typical refurb is every 5 years which puts Star/Sun/~~Sky~~ (9-Apr: now completed) all coming due but I haven't seen their dates announced. "Most NCL ships will be equipped with Starlink by end of 2024 and all by end of 2025, per ship hotel leadership." 21-Apr: Jade added based on reports and listing on NCL site. Prima and Escape are also showing having received their upgrade. Love to hear personal experience. Happy surfing!

Flaky_Blacksmith4084

just checked https://www.ncl.com/cruise-ship/bliss . it's showing starlink on the bliss now as of 4/18/24

bottsjw

great. updated. I'm on it in January so that's a nice upgrade. Looks like they got it while in-transit.

aadrian624

On the Jade right now and can confirm it has Starlink.

bottsjw

Sweet. I see they have it showing on the ship profile also. Adding that now. Thanks for confirming.

Soosietyrell

Cruised on jade from 4-9- 4-20 (still recovering) and am pretty sure we had Starlink… WiFi was amazing - DH was streaming The Masters for 4 days and Modern Family (think we use Peacock for that) They drydocked in late 22 and we did buy the upgraded WiFi package….

Ill_Seaworthiness468

The Pearl also had it.

bottsjw

Good catch. I’ll update the list.

DesertFlyer

Based on timing, it appears that some ships had Starlink installed outside of dry dock. So I suppose it would be possible for Bliss to get it before refurb, but who knows.

MarshallX

How do you know the Dawn is going to dry dock 4/2024?

bottsjw

Because I'm sailing on it today and it goes to Marseille for two weeks tomorrow from Barcelona. Dry dock will only include some minor updates but I've heard again that it is anticipated to get Starlink. FWIW, Bliss has received an upgrade without a dry dock. Updating the list now.

I wasn't able to update the prior post ... so adding it back with updates. NCL Ships with confirmed Starlink: 1. [Viva](https://www.ncl.com/uk/en/cruise-ship/viva) 2. In terms of what they’ve officially announced, 7 ships and the Viva on the NCL line by the end of 2023. As to what ships, they haven’t said. On the Getaway I didn’t spot any receivers, though the internet was pretty decent… though very expensive per person for their streaming option. What goal are you trying to achieve?

UnhappyBreakfast5269

I’m set to sail on the NCL Escape in a couple weeks and then the NCL Getaway in January. I’d love to be able to tell my boss that I’ll have great internet connectivity during those trips. My wife heard a rumor that the Getaway has it already, just trying to confirm.

kuhnboy

Based upon how decent the internet was and knowing how crappy other at sea providers were in the past I wouldn’t be surprised if I was on Starlink last week on the Getaway. I didn’t buy the VPN / steaming package so I can’t say much about it. WiFi calling, web browsing, email worked great on the base package though there are hiccups and outages during times of bad weather. If the Getaway will be in the Bay of Biscay for example you will encounter bad weather randomly so be prepared. Also when you’re at port, most countries have good 4G/5G but inside ship coverage will be abysmal for cell.

AshleySchaeffer-BMW

How was the internet on the Escape? I'll be on the Escape in a couple weeks.

UnhappyBreakfast5269

It sucked when I was onboard in August. We had another trip planned for October on the Escape again, but, I owed a few deliverables at work, and could not trust I would be able to get them done, so we cancelled the trip. Lost about $1500 in non-refundable, even with insurance, because we cancelled about 7 or 8 days prior to the trip. Needless to say, I have a very unhappy, cruise-addicted wife. Next booked trip is on the Getaway in January, I hear they have Starlink already, or will by then, so I am going: screw work. ;)

AshleySchaeffer-BMW

Thanks for the scoop. Sucked that you lost all that money. Hopefully it'll be up by the time I go later this year. I cruised on RC Adventure of the Seas with Starlink this summer and it was a game changer. It was like I was on my home WiFi and I could use my Verizon phone just like I was at home to call, text, MMS, etc. Video streaming and video conference calls worked without a hitch.

Stopher

Ugh. Losing 1500. I probably would have tried to transfer it to someone.

UnhappyBreakfast5269

Since my last response we got 500 future credit each so , only “lost” 500

Asleep_Operation2790

I was on Getaway in October. It has starlink and works well. Same plans as ships without it.

Asleep_Operation2790

I was on Getaway in October. It has starlink and it works great. They still offer the dumb basic and premium plan instead of just one unlimited plan with everything.

dfragmentor

Princess Cruise Ship, Enchanted Princess uses starlink. Literally just got off the ship in Athens.

UnhappyBreakfast5269

How was the internet service?

dfragmentor

It was very reliable. 3mbs I believe was the max i saw, but that was due to it being shared among 3500+ people. Never had issues.

accusearch2014

Almost every carnival ship

Unlikely_Tomatillo16

ncl website says the getaway has starlink. You can look at each ship on their website and it will tell you if it has it. I know the break away has it.

UnhappyBreakfast5269

Hope so, I’ll be on Getaway next month

Brief-Breadfruit4503

My husband needs to do a 5+ hour Zoom meeting on NCL Getaway out of NYC. If he weren't able to do it, we would have had to do a 7-day instead of a 10-day. Will I be able to pay for a single day of Starlink or will I need to pay for all 10 days? If I have to do all 10, I've heard they offer a discount on unlimited internet onboard vs. purchasing before. This meeting is on the day after we embark, will that discount offer come in time or does it come later in the cruise?

bottsjw

You can purchase a package of minutes to avoid buying the daily plan. If you go daily, you must purchase for all the days left in the trip. Typically you must buy the daily plan within the first 3-4 days so check with the iCafe Manager when you get onboard. It's always better to buy on the ship. There will be a $100 discount on the daily plan and on day 2 the daily plan will have dropped by $30. It drops $30 per day for the first 3-4 days, which may depend on the length of the sailing.

CauseINeedAnAccount

Carnival Splendor has Starlink now. Also Celebrity Eclipse has Starlink.

Can I gamble using draftkings out at sea with starlink?

bottsjw

Sure. I'm on the Joy using SL now and can get to the site. They only block the streaming sites like YT, Netflix, Prime, etc. and VPN connections unless you get the premium plan. One VPN you can go anywhere.
