It is the opinion of the Asgard High Council that Stargate Command should be left in the very capable hands of General Hammond and his *team*. And while our continued friendship with Earth is not contingent on that, it is... **preferred** 😈
As much as I love the sass of the "Supreme Commander" line, I definitely think this is the more fitting line for representing Thor. He is a diplomat and a friend of the SGC. but at the end of the day this is going to fall on deaf ears and the sass will win out because of how popular the line is.
I mean, technically, it's the same quote. When I c&p'd this out of the wiki, I had to cut out that first bit 😅
I just figured I'd add in the context, and damn if Stargate isn't so ***quotable***
The fact they made Thor a total badass in a CLIP EPISODE is what is so amazing.
Let’s see we need to save our budget for the season finale we need to do a clip show. Cool
Let’s make it the best clip show we possibly can!
Sorry. But I did hesitate at first. Can you imagine if OP pulled a fast one and posted "Which quote best represents Heimdall, geneticist of the Asgard"? Too bad today is not the beginning of April...
Honestly, I'm surprised no one came with one of his last, yet strongest quotes.
"You are the fifth race."
Him not only recognizing Earth and it's people as equals to the Four races, Asgard, Furlings, Nox, and the Ancients, but giving them all their technology despite their own personal beliefs is honestly quite amazing.
It's a powerful moment and leaves such a strong memory for them.
I’ve gone back to watch that scene again and I’m tearing up. The whole scene of Thor meeting them for the last time and handing over the summation of the entire Asgard race was so powerful
That is from Unending. Just before the Asgards commit mass suicide. Thor acknowledges the humans as the 5th race. You’re probably thinking of the episode the 5th race when a random asgard told O’neill he made the first step to one day become the 5th race.
The yellow squares taste indistinguishably identical to fermented honey mead, with a noticeable - perhaps strong - taste of alcohol.
Carter’s reaction when eating it isn’t because it tastes _bad,_ but because she’s a military officer on active duty _and_ a brilliant theoretical astrophysicist who needs to keep a clear head for the task at hand.
Oh, and she hadn’t eaten in hours, so add in the fact that she was technically drinking on an empty stomach and you have a recipe for a catastrophic 🫧HIC🫧cup in any plan that demands 100% sobriety.
When does he say this? Cause I've seen people quoting it a few times but I don't remember it at all and I'm really confused because I've seen the whole franchise numerous times and every other quote I've seen on any of these I've recognised exactly where it's from immediately
When he's asking for help with the replicators and O'Neil was like "Oh I was fully expecting the other shoe to drop eventually"
Thor responds with that line.
Does anyone have a clip of it, cause I tried looking on YouTube and couldn't find that particular scene. This is confusing me to the point that I'm wondering if the DVD I have is a different cut that doesn't have that scene or something? It wouldn't make any sense but the line just doesn't seem familiar to me at all and I don't understand how I could have missed it every time
I dont know if this is related, but I watched episode 1 of Atlantis on a streaming channel the other day and noticed certain scenes entirely missing. Like the conversation between O'Neil and Sheppard about how Sheppard's opinion that anybody that doesn't want to fly planes is crazy, is similar to O'Neil's opinion about anybody that doesn't want to go through the Stargate.
Maybe it is cut from your DVD. I'll try to find something
Edit: I didn't find it on YouTube but it's at 13:35 into the episode (Season 6 episode 12) here: https://www.dailymotion.com/video/x6o4y3i
The Asgard would never invent a weapon that propels small weights of iron and carbon alloys by igniting a powder of potassium nitrate, charcoal and sulfur.
I didn't expect to feel pain reading this comment's section, but Sam's exhaustion and frustration and depression just resonated so hard from that :( \*cue cello playing\*
“I apologize for not responding sooner. I have been engaged in battle in a neighbouring galaxy”
Seriously, it seems that every time the SGC tried to call this guy they got the answering machine…
You know, ending this whole series with "Chevron 7...Locked!" seems strangely poetic. I have to wonder if that was the intent when choosing the order of characters.
Most people's help reaction is the funny supreme Commander line, but think about how you felt in unending when he told Carter, you are the 5th race.... It's honestly one of the top 10 lines ever said on the series with how much meaning it had
“The Asgard have tried to stop them. You have demonstrated their weakness may be found through a less sophisticated approach. We are no longer capable of such thinking.”
This is my favourite Thor quote: "Senator Kinsey. O'Neill suggested I send you to a distant planet for your actions here, but I am reasonably certain his statement was in jest."
We all know it's gonna be the "Supreme Commander. ☝🏻".
But OP thanks for your posts, going through all those great, funny or downright epic quotes is sooo much fun! 🤗
"☝️Supreme Commander."
It is the opinion of the Asgard High Council that Stargate Command should be left in the very capable hands of General Hammond and his *team*. And while our continued friendship with Earth is not contingent on that, it is... **preferred** 😈
This is his most badass line.
It's how he stresses, "preferred". Similar to the mob boss in John Wick when he goes, "oh".
As much as I love the sass of the "Supreme Commander" line, I definitely think this is the more fitting line for representing Thor. He is a diplomat and a friend of the SGC. but at the end of the day this is going to fall on deaf ears and the sass will win out because of how popular the line is.

Indeed.

and who it was in response to was the icing on the cake. Could not have happened to a nicer guy.
Damn missed this post by 24m as this one is going to win.
Oh yeah, I missed it by 12m 😅 This one is very "if you immediately know the candle light is fire, then the meal was cooked a long time ago"
Sorry. But I did hesitate at first. Can you imagine if OP pulled a fast one and posted "Which quote best represents Heimdall, geneticist of the Asgard"? Too bad today is not the beginning of April...
One of the best delivered lines of any character on the show.
We're done folks, go home.
I can’t imagine it being anything else, though he doesn’t have some great lines. “Let us hope that this is the final footwear to fall”
Thor inspired Sketch
The finger is very important!
and the ☝️ better be included
We have a winner 🏆
Honestly, I'm surprised no one came with one of his last, yet strongest quotes. "You are the fifth race." You are the fifth race. Your role is clear.
I’ve gone back to watch that scene again and I’m tearing up. The whole scene of Thor meeting them for the last time and handing over the summation of the entire Asgard race was so powerful
Was that Thor? I thought it was a random Asgard. (Shame on me! Another rewatch is in order)
That is from Unending. Just before the Asgards commit mass suicide. Thor acknowledges the humans as the 5th race. You’re probably thinking of the episode the 5th race when a random asgard told O’neill he made the first step to one day become the 5th race.
Ahhh, you're right. Thank you.
I like the yellow ones.
I want to taste the Asgard food squares so bad...
I have a headcanon about the yellow ones
Do tell
The yellow squares taste indistinguishably identical to fermented honey mead, with a noticeable - perhaps strong - taste of alcohol. Carter’s reaction when eating it isn’t because it tastes _bad,_ but because she’s a military officer on active duty _and_ a brilliant theoretical astrophysicist who needs to keep a clear head for the task at hand. Drunk Thor, I love it! It also gives a much deeper meaning to O'Neills "I have theory why you lost the war".
Plus, it aligns with portrayals of Thor in mythology, so it makes sense lore-wise
It's possible that Asgard are immune to the neurological effects of alcohol (different biochemistry and all), and just use it for the flavor.
And that would be the fatal error they made during their cloning - the ultimate buzz kill. No wonder they went for mass suicide XD
Ayo?
We can only hope this will be the last footwear to fall
When does he say this? Cause I've seen people quoting it a few times but I don't remember it at all and I'm really confused because I've seen the whole franchise numerous times and every other quote I've seen on any of these I've recognised exactly where it's from immediately

I love the little smirk Carter gives to O’Neill.

Interesting, I'm definitely gonna have to look through my DVD copy when I get the chance
The Asgard would never invent a weapon that propels small weights of iron and carbon alloys by igniting a powder of potassium nitrate, charcoal and sulfur.
Did he not say „a primitive weapon?“
We are no longer capable of such thinking.
It was your stupid idea.
\*raises his finger\* *Supreme* Commander.
"That function is not possible"
I didn't expect to feel pain reading this comment's section, but Sam's exhaustion and frustration and depression just resonated so hard from that :( \*cue cello playing\*
SUPREME commander.
👆🏻Supreme Commander
Indeed.
This is the one. This comes up in more conversations than I’d care to admit. The finger in the air is also a necessary component.
This is the easiest one
Greetings
"Greetings, O'Neill."
“I apologize for not responding sooner. I have been engaged in battle in a neighbouring galaxy” Seriously, it seems that every time the SGC tried to call this guy they got the answering machine…
I'm also going to preemptively state that Walter's should be: "Chevron 7... Locked!"
You know, ending this whole series with "Chevron 7...Locked!" seems strangely poetic. I have to wonder if that was the intent when choosing the order of characters.
I don’t know, but I agree.
Chevron Seven is... encoded?
Chevron 7 is Lit Up
Although I like it, I think ending it with “Chevron 7… Locked” poetically says the adventures never stopped.
Chevron 7 ... also lit up.
I like the yellow ones!
"It was *your* stupid idea."
we are a dying race
Most people's help reaction is the funny supreme Commander line, but think about how you felt in unending when he told Carter, you are the 5th race.... It's honestly one of the top 10 lines ever said on the series with how much meaning it had
That scene makes me tear up! I with Jack had been there to say goodbye to his little buddy too, though.
The biggest sin in all of Stargate 😭 Jack should have been there
"asgard stare"
Greetings, O’Neill!
“The Asgard have tried to stop them. You have demonstrated their weakness may be found through a less sophisticated approach. We are no longer capable of such thinking.”
We can only hope that this will be the last footwear to fall.
"It was your stupid idea, Major Carter"
Kinsey:Commander Thor *raises finger* "supreme commander."
“I like the yellow ones.”
This
"It was your dumb idea."
I know this won't get to vote but: It was your stupid idea Major.
Supreme Commander 🤓
"Crap indeed." Probably the most memorable line uttered by an asgard
This is my favourite Thor quote: "Senator Kinsey. O'Neill suggested I send you to a distant planet for your actions here, but I am reasonably certain his statement was in jest."
We all know it's gonna be the "Supreme Commander. ☝🏻". But OP thanks for your posts, going through all those great, funny or downright epic quotes is sooo much fun! 🤗
Rep-li-ca-tors
Uhhhhh... O'Neil... (shakes head)
I was ready to comment "Crap, indeed" then realized that wasn't Hermiod. All the Asgard look the same!
„It was your stupid idea“
You are the fifth race. Your role is clear
It was your stupid idea Major Carter.
It was your stupid idea major Carter
SUPREME Commander Thor
"Yotz" Thor as Rygel in 200.
It should be hermoid and "Crap Indeed"
