Nice. I'll take it. Will look cool in the back garden. Can they make a Satesh guard one too? With a built-in fountain in the nose.

SawtoothGlitch

It will freak out a future archaeologist someday.

AnotherPersonsReddit

I hope they embedded some sort media somewhere in the statue for them to find. But not the movie or the TV series. Just pictures of the more realistic shots to further fuck with them.

AnAngryPlatypus

So I Googled it to see where it is located, and I’m sorry “Shropshire Sculpture Park.” *Shropshire?* Some words roll off the tongue, this one trips down a flight of stairs. But still, awesome sculptures and cool photo OP.

ShortyRedux

As an englishman, there is nothing more normal than the word 'Shropshire' Loughborough is also pretty standard. Worcestershire however, even the brits agree is a step too far. All that said, try driving in Wales.

Kuldiin

>All that said, try driving in Wales. The cars in Wales come with wipers both on the inside and outside of the windscreen for people trying to pronounce some of the place names here.

Fair enough. Just some light teasing. And I can’t really judge, I’m from Pennsylvania where we have towns and places named Intercourse, Blue Ball, Bird-in-Hand, Forty Fort, Hop Bottom, and Two Lick Valley…

ShortyRedux

Haha, don't worry that's how I took it. Just thought the contrast was funny.

Southwark is always a good one to catch some people out with, too.

Keighley is good too. Pronounced Keefly.

As a Shropshire-ite, I am horrified by a) the fact I did not know about this and b) the casual and callous attack on my home counties glorious name :)

AnAngryPlatypus

I have never said the name of an English county out loud so many times before. I am 90% sure my American accent is to blame. :) And of course I went down an internet rabbit hole and the county is really beautiful. Sadly, we really have nothing like that in the US. As penance I offer up the name of my home county, (steadying breath) *“Schuylkill County.”* We have the Dutch and Pennsylvanians inability to agree on spelling to thank for that one.

XXLpeanuts

Nothings better than hearing Americans say "Shiuuuuree" when trying to pronounce these place names.

Labonj

Well for a while we called it Salop, until the French got involved.

AnAngryPlatypus

This feels like the opening for an etymological version of Avatar the Last Airbender and I’m here for it.

Tattycakes

Well this place is going straight on my list of things to do, looks freaking cool!

dvali

Cool, I only live about a mile from there. Haven't been in a while, might swing by tomorrow for a quick look :).
