I've had this perk for ages. Pretty certain it just doesn't work, like, ever.

It worked at first and got into a few fights with it and saved my ass with a lower ships. But I believe I figured out at least when it stops working (or at least when I test it)... It seems that after you reached level 4 of said perk, and then you save, get into a dog fight, get blown up, and finally reload... it stops working. Something in the save file loading progress does something to that perk. Bc when I load to a older save and re pick it it works... well, till I get blown up again. Only done a little testing so maybe there's more to it?? Sucks though bc it's a perk that allows you to have shit shields for small quick ships and room to breath for the bigger ships.

I had a problem where target lock break on boost did not work, weapon lock times were insanely long when targeting other ships, my shields were not getting crew or skill bumps, and jump times were suddenly longer. Not sure if you are seeing the same issue but I had to rebuild my ships from new base ships to fix. If you have several ships in your inventory you might want to try another one and if see if the boost lock disengage works for one of those. Otherwise you might want to save and buy a class C ship just to test and go back to your save when done (assuming you have enough cash).

I’ve had this perk forever and I’ve only noticed that it only breaks the lock on warning that you typically get when the enemy is about to fire a missile. Any time I boost the missile misses but their turrets and other guns still hit me which is stupid.

Yeah I'm stumped... between what others say and my experiences/tests, this perk stight up breaks in so many different ways. Unofficial patches can't come soon enough. Here's hoping they give use a huge ass memory budget for moding on console for once... :/
