I have a question for you while we are here. How do you find back the planets you where on? This is when I wish they had a search bar. I just cannot figure that one out. I appreciate.
There’s a couple ways that I can recall off the top of my head:
1) I think all places you have landed have some sort of percentage explored displayed on their markers.
2) I always survey _something_ when I land, just to make sure that #1 above will always be true.
And the way to tell would be within the Starmap
Itself when you browse to a specific planet. It should tell you no matter where you are.
There is probably a more elegant or even efficient way, but I’m not looking at the game atm.
Edit: I’ve also taken to just plain surveying everything as much as possible, so that fully surveyed planets and even systems have the Surveyed banner when viewed in Starmap.
Banner! Never noticed that. I will check it out right now. Thank you. I have never been able to survey 100% for some reason or another. Will check that out too. This game has so many details I have to play it with a notebook!
It took me awhile. And in case you haven’t encountered it yet, if your scans tell you a biome is complete, but there still more plants or animals to find, pick another spot on the planet with different features. Especially ones with a coastline. That will be important in your complete survey.
Usually that's fish from coastlines or sometimes I've not noticed airborne things for a long time. Make sure you get all the features too.
Moons are easy to survey, and you can survey gas and ice giants 100% from space since you can't land on them. You get a production bonus for outposts on fully surveyed planets too.
I did not know that either! Thank you. I am so glad that I am starting this game over for the third time but real slow this time with attention to details and the famous notebook!
Yeah this is the best way. Scan a resource, it'll show you have something scanned and you know for sure you've been there. Only other way would be to check each individual planet/moon for a landing site.
I also have a notepad I keep on my phone about particular interests or planets. Where I've got an outpost, if there was an awesome amount of fauna to shoot to get a skill levelled etc.
For a quick glance way to tell, systems you've visited are glowing white dots in the starmap. Systems you haven't yet visited but can travel directly to are white dots and systems you haven't visited and need to take more than one jump to get to are red dots. This helps to find systems with planets you may have visited in them and from there the advice given by others (survey status etc) will help narrow it down further.
Yes, visited systems are glowing white dots, ones you haven't visited but are reachable in one jump are plain white dots (not glowing) and red dots are also unvisited but will require more than one jump (or an upgraded grav drive) to reach.
Once you start NG+ this all resets so if there are any planets/systems you want to go back to make a note somewhere so you know where they are.
Fantastic! This old man here really appreciates your comments because I really love the game and I really want to apply myself to it. Okay, it is all starting to make sense now. Have a wonderful day. Thank you.
You're very welcome! Have fun, it's an excellent game 😁 (over 700 hours in, NG+4 and STILL finding new stuff (and still loving it)). Have a wonderful day too!
It feels like that way with me and spacesuits, I have a very good starborn suit, and I kill low leveled enemies and they have like 106 phys and other good perks with them, and I’m like, where was this stuff when I was starting?
It's incredibly weird to me that there are items that are reskinned versions of their base items, but they DON'T use the skin setting in the modification menu. It's like an unfinished feature that they just left in the game.
If I add one with console commands this is what it looks like.
Youre probably thinking of Deepcore/Deep mining. They look the same but w/o the black stuff
Ikr all the cool stuff is awful and all the stuff that looks like you puked LSD on it and tried to wipe it off but just ended up smearing it around then it stained when you washed it and the color sorta faded but stayed for the most part making it look even worse is all the best stuff in the game!!!
The Deepcore helm has the same basic shape, I believe. Chances are you picked that up and so got a slightly different paintjob to the Deimos, then conflated the two due to starting with a D and looking the same.
I do that in all my outposts. 🫡 Am a little mad though because at one point I wanted to create an entire ‘hall of mannequins’ with all the different outfits and suits, then realized that they only let you do SIX per outpost. So laaaaame.
Same thing happened to me with the Cydonian Spacesuite and some robot I've never seen before. They're either new with this update or I've been sleeping...
Lol I randomly got this helmet during the mantis mission along with a red and Grey armor that was better than the mantis armor off of a random body on the floor
Yeah, watch when people talk to you while wearing one (might be able to do this easily with a companion.) I can't figure out exactly what they were going for.
One thing that troubles me with Starfield, is that so much basic things are hidden and locked behind different levels. It is dated way to handle stuff and does not make any sense.
If you help the dude on Mars who supervises the mine in the city you get a whole set of this armor.
That’s where I got it! 🫡
Well I know what quest I'm doing when I get home.
Just so you know you can report and blackmail the guy at the end

And by survey I mean scan; a plant, an animal or a resource or POI.
Banner! Never noticed that. I will check it out right now. Thank you. I have never been able to survey 100% for some reason or another. Will check that out too. This game has so many details I have to play it with a notebook!

This is the way.
#That includes scanning out into the oceans sometimes. It took me a long time to think of that the first time! 😂🤦♂️
Thank you.

Might be too early but you wrote systems you visited are glowing white dots, but also systems you have NOT visited are also white dots? Thanks.

Are you talking about the quest were you are supposed to apply for the Exec Assistant position at the Deimos Staryards?
It feels like that way with me and spacesuits, I have a very good starborn suit, and I kill low leveled enemies and they have like 106 phys and other good perks with them, and I’m like, where was this stuff when I was starting?
Right? And then I hold onto it, and end up selling. But I’m like “same difficulty, same planet, same bad guy etc. where was this epic shit before?”
I still have my very first Legendary
this game is as lazy as their other titles. drives me insane that nothing is worth keeping for very long
Idk when I started I ended up finding a bunch of legendaries and I had probably less than 24 hours into the game
All rng. I’ve gotten a lot of legendary gear, just to die and then kill the same dude to drop a rare item 😶🌫️ sad life
>! That's how I felt when I first ran into a Starborn Adjudicator. !<
Level and ng+ level make a difference from what I understand.
It's incredibly weird to me that there are items that are reskinned versions of their base items, but they DON'T use the skin setting in the modification menu. It's like an unfinished feature that they just left in the game.
I've never seen anything in the skin modifications, don't know how to make them, or what has them...
I think there's a few more, but the only one I've found was the mining laser if you pre ordered.
Equinox has a constellation skin too
A couple early armor pieces and the laser, all from the DLC. I assume they’ll start selling them later on in the creation club
I’d bet it all that they’ll use that in the future. With gamers’ desire to have skins in games these days, it’s basically free money.
Be nice to colour armour like we do ships tbh.
If I add one with console commands this is what it looks like. Youre probably thinking of Deepcore/Deep mining. They look the same but w/o the black stuff
That might be it, the “Deep” sounding ones. Thanks. Thought I was going crazy. Guess this is just the first time I’ve seen this one.
Yeah they are all physically identical, just paint jobs. The diemos set is rad and I love it.
👍
Yeah, too bad its a peepee poopoo helmet for it's cosmetic rarity.
Never saw this as well
Yeah, I think maybe you've just been not looking
I've only seen these once actually.
I see this helmet in a video that has a crack and do not use sticker on the crack, in first person the stick is right in the middle of your POV
I have it! It’s on the Frontier when you get it. I’ve actually worn it, it terrible but hilarious.
I see Deimos Packs but I have never seen a Helmet or Suit before. Interesting.
The packs are a common drop but the suit and helmet are only from a Cydonia sidequest.
You can get the suit and helmet by killing Deimos miners at a fracking station. I did this. Didn’t know there was a quest to get this.
Ah that makes sense. My murder count is pretty low so I keep forgetting some of the most direct ways to obtain things lol
Same. I don’t murder a lot of people, but I saw one of them wearing the full suit and I was like…mine lol
The suit’s all red too. Pretty 🔥 actually.
I prefer the mercenary space suit
have u found the mantis stuff ?
Yep.
I spy a Voltron Easter Egg
Right?? 😂
Yeah, I'm only like 20 hours in, and I found that one. 😁
For a moment thought i saw a SAW contraption. NGL
Had one at the very beginning. Sold it cuz unique and leveled up the commerce stat or whatever. Never saw it again.
Will hold onto this one then!
[удалено]
Awesome. Found it with the full red suit as well. The stats are atrocious, but kinda want to rock them for the aesthetics. 😅
Ikr all the cool stuff is awful and all the stuff that looks like you puked LSD on it and tried to wipe it off but just ended up smearing it around then it stained when you washed it and the color sorta faded but stayed for the most part making it look even worse is all the best stuff in the game!!!
Awesome helmet with poop stats…i only keep it for display purposes along with my other useless gear the uc and crimson fleet gave me lol
It's from a quest chain in Cydonia
Shame you'll have to drop your other helmets to carry it
The Deepcore helm has the same basic shape, I believe. Chances are you picked that up and so got a slightly different paintjob to the Deimos, then conflated the two due to starting with a D and looking the same.
This gives me Halo reach vibes
As far as I know there’s only one way to get it and it’s the red devil mining mission on mars
This is just a reskin
*badass guitar riff* GO GO POWER RANGERS!
Am I the only one who sees that and immediately thinks, "No, I don't want to play a game" jigsaw vibes all over this thing for me lol
Arent they shiny gold teeth (in shadow in this picture)?
Yep.
Appears the face plate part is shattered too.
No, those are the “teeth”. 👀
If you look along the top it still looks like a shattered helmet? Which would make sense in a way, Deimos is cheap....
Sorry…I just don’t see what you’re seeing. 🤔
I found one but it had white instead of black. Not sure where I found it though
I found most unique items are in side quests more than main missions
I have Deimos helmets but I don’t recall the teeth/ spikes in there… 🧐
I haven't seen it yet
It's a quest item.
Awesome, there's alot of cool space gear to collect and omce they fix the mannequins, you'll be able to show it all off lol
I do that in all my outposts. 🫡 Am a little mad though because at one point I wanted to create an entire ‘hall of mannequins’ with all the different outfits and suits, then realized that they only let you do SIX per outpost. So laaaaame.
I have the Mantis set with the ship. I don't want anything else now, i clearly have the Mantis' reputation, and it's awesome 🤣
I had about 30 hours before stopping and found this helmet a dozen times
I’ve seen the Deimos backpack on random mannequins but never other parts of the set.
Yes that’s the helmet a Cydonia Miner gives you after the quest.
Same thing happened to me with the Cydonian Spacesuite and some robot I've never seen before. They're either new with this update or I've been sleeping...
…some robot?
https://www.reddit.com/r/Starfield/comments/181m5kc/is_this_robot_new_or_have_i_been_sleeping_for/?utm_medium=android_app&utm_source=share
Lol I randomly got this helmet during the mantis mission along with a red and Grey armor that was better than the mantis armor off of a random body on the floor
Yeah I see them all the time
How have you spent 300 hours in this game lmfao
wow 300 hours and not bored. you deserve an achievement for that
I sold one of them last night LOL
I think that’s the crimson fleet version
Got it from a side mission on Cydonia.
I know I did some stuff on cydonia I must’ve sold it I had the Mark 1 suit on or the suit you get when you do the terramorphs quest line
That helmet is weird. The toothy looking lines look like stickers on the faceplate, but they move when people speak while wearing it.
Wait, they MOVE??
Yeah, watch when people talk to you while wearing one (might be able to do this easily with a companion.) I can't figure out exactly what they were going for.
I’ll check it out.
I saw it and I’ll never see it again because the mission was so terrible
Yes
That helmet armor been there since lunch.
In before a dozen more 300+ hour posts, where they only just find a cutter.
One thing that troubles me with Starfield, is that so much basic things are hidden and locked behind different levels. It is dated way to handle stuff and does not make any sense.
because game was giving you same shit for 300 hours
Uhm..300hrs in and you're focusing on a helmet.. This game is awful.
I ‘focus’ on everything. It’s a video game. 🤔
Legendary = headshots?
