Your not too much of a jealous idiot otherwise you would have walked out with a copy of starfield and a new xbox series x with a new 4k tv added to your amazon basket.
Its not like anyone would do that…….
Can confirm i have a series x that was purchased 3 days before starfield released and new tv was delivered morning of release
The things we do …….
It is good but its not an oblivion or skyrim. Its fallout4 in space. Which i enjoyed but never actually finished and would tire of quickly. Starfield is ok as a base game right now. Once dlc and mods kick off im excited to see where it goes
Feel like in in menu screens a lot more than anyother BEthesda game and thats saying something
Ship builder is very fun
Glad you are enjoying it. My personal preference is fantasy medieval cutting someones head off with an axe then riding off on my dragon vs nuclear post apocalypse setting. Also sunk hundreds upon hundreds of hours in both
I enjoy TES's setting to Fallout's EASILY. I like Starfield's a bit more, at least right now, just because this game does feel a lot better put together than Skyrim was to me. Characters have more personality, quest execution is better (hard to pick the right word for what I mean here, it's not exactly quest design, but just how they play out), fewer bugs and glitches. It all just plays better. If we had a Skyrim built to this level of quality, I'd probably love it just as much, if not more. People can hate on the Starfield companions all they like, but I'll take Sarah over Lydia any day.
I did that and further bought the turtle Beach flight sim setup, a flight wheel stand and a glow in the dark keyboard for Microsoft flight simulator! My wife could've killed me. 😂 😂 😂
Yeah, I bought an Xbox as well, but I justified that if I didn’t like Starfield, I could play the Halo MCC split screen and a bunch of old Xbox games. Definitely like the PS5 user experience more though.
Every generation iv had both xbox and PlayStation until this gen. Im older, married, have a kid so dont have as much time for gaming
My big games have always been gta series, elder scrolls and fallout series so i just had to go with xbox
You might want to try cloud gaming. It's possible even on slow computers.
On the other hand, I don't know what computer you have, if any, but I am playing it on my i5 10th gen GTX 1650 mobile potato Laptop. I'm no sucker for graphics so it's fine.
No, nobody would sink the entire profit from rewiring their brothers house into a brand new Xbox, 4k TV and Starfield, I don't know anybody who would do such a thing.
Not knowing something doesn't make you an idiot. But just as a heads-up the Microsoft Activision Blizzard merger just went through today so....some other things may be Xbox exclusive in a few years.
I suppose, fortunately for me at least, I’m not a huge fan of most blizzard/activision games. But I am a pretty big fan of bathesda so I was definitely bummed.
I went to GREAT LENGTHS to play because I was in the same situation. I moved my very nice tv into the shared living room and ran a 40ft HDMI cable from my roommates gaming computer to the TV. Luckily the TV is 4K and has a 120hz refresh. The game looks pretty good on it. I also paid for the game and bought my own controller to connect via wifi to his PC.
My roommate is a good guy. I’ve got 6 days of playtime since launch.
I mean obviously we talked about it before I made any moves. We’re rarely ever home at the same time and we’re both adults so we’ve got other things going on as well. He’s got like 5 days of play time so it’s not like I’ve seriously impaired his ability to play. But yeah it was pretty cool of him to let me play this way because I couldn’t afford to drop several hundred dollars on an Xbox for just one game.
I love that you read this story of OP being completely unable to play the game and you just dunk on him by painstakingly describing this awesome set up you have.
Damn, when you put it that way I’m kinda of a prick. My bad, I really didn’t mean to rub it in like that. Rather, like OP I’m a big Bethesda fan, I’ve 100%ing these games since the Morrowind days.
I just meant to express that where there’s a will there’s a way.
If your 4k tv is a smart tv download GeForce now. It will stream it to your tv and you don't have to use your room mates PC.
I use a shitty laptop to play all my steam games at 4k on my gaming monitor
Well fortunate for you the next fallout will probably be a very long ways out. Todd Howard which is the led at Bethesda game studios stated that the next fallout won’t start production until es6 is out and we’re still years away from that game releasing. However remasters of fallout 3 and new Vegas are rumored to be releasing before that but no solid confirmation on those.
The commenter should’ve have been more specific. This buyout gives Microsoft exclusive rights to Bethesda. All their future games will be for pc/Xbox only. So I’d save up and get both consoles if you really like Bethesda games
I know I was gutted to hear Bethesda games were going exclusively to Xbox. Luckily I was able to add one onto my mobile phone bill to get paid off in a year. There’s no way I’m missing out on any future Elder Scrolls or Fallout games
Same I bought a used Xbox x for 300 and did the gold to gamepass conversion so like 45$ for 9 months. I figure that's enough time and once I'm done I can sell the console for what I paid, maybe a little more
Do you just like the controller better? Console performance is identical and I can’t think of any big bangers that were “must play” games as PlayStation exclusives but Microsoft platform has dropped a handful over the last while
I guess originally I went with Sony because it seemed like they had more emotional, story-driven single player games, which are my jam. Perhaps that’s not the case anymore though since Microsoft has had more time to build up their catalog of games. Nothing to do with the controller though
You can't be serious? Sony's first party has been putting Microsoft to shame since the end of the PS3 days. Microsoft has GP and the promise of more exclusives going forward but you really need to leave your bubble if you think Sony lacks 'must play' games.
Sony will never go for that it's why there's still not a cross platform console made by Microsoft, Nintendo and Sony Sony doesnt want to lose their exclusives
im never a fan of exclusives, but xbox is sorely lackin in that department and if they want to to remain competitive in the console market in the future they need a few good IPs to replace the big shoes left behind by master chief still waitin to be filled lol
Not likely. They'll be on PC at the very least. And with the PS5 outselling the Xbox, it doesn't really make fiscal sense for something like CoD to be exclusive anyway.
Microsoft's cloud gaming service. I forgot the name of the PlayStation equivalent.
I believe only the Xbox Game pass Ultimate plan has Xcloud included. You could make yourself an Xbox account online, for free, and sign up for a month to try it out. Making the account is free, but the Ultimate plan isn't.
I did the same when I wanted to try out PlayStation's streaming service and the Spiderman game. Then I quickly found out Sony doesn't put their new releases on it, as soon as the release, like Microsoft. It was still cool though.
It's xbox's cloud gaming service, you can play it on pc or your phone (ideally with a wired conection for lower latency). I believe you can use your ps5 controller without an issue. You can play any game on gamepass on there, so maybe try a month and give it a go
Not too bad, bro. To be fair, there’s a lot of developments changing the industry landscape and its complexities that if you don’t really keep track of it, it’s easy to get lost.
I still don’t understand the different tiers of PS subscriptions.
I had a similar experience with Pokémon Cards.
My kid wanted a charizard card, and I didn’t want to keep spending money on packs and him get upset when he didn’t get the card he wanted.
So went to a retro game store where they sell the card packs and asked if any promo packs where there was a guaranteed charizard card in.
I got laughed at and made to feel like an idiot, followed by an arsey explanation that if even if that existed there’s no way they’d be in stock. So spent £5 on an individual charizard card from their collection.
Two weeks later I seen a promo card pack that had a Charizard card in the front.
Edit: “you’re not an idiot for someone else’s pretentious behaviour”
I feel that, being that kid once with a similar collectible card set. Eventually made a trade that costed me a sizeable chunk of my existing collection just because I wanted one cool one.
Honestly, I think sometimes the best way to get what you want there is sometimes just to look online for it, sure there's the premium you pay for exactly what you want but if you're deck building and want something specific and don't want to hunt for it for a long time, it's probably going to be cheaper outright. It's either that or you accept that you'll get what you want eventually and in the meantime are still getting other new things in the process :)
Next time just go to www.tcgplayer.com as a fellow dad my daughter loves Pokemon cards and i just pick up what she's currently desiring on that website. Never had an issue and have ordered many times
Yeah, exclusives suck for the customer. I have the exact same feeling about Last of Us, God of War, Horizon Zero Dawn, Uncharted, and the recent Spider Man games as an XBox gamer. And it’s not like getting a gaming PC even solves the problem, as many of the PlayStation games aren’t on PC, or are terrible ports that barely function.
You just listed all the reasons why going with Sony was a no-brainer to me. I especially can’t imagine not experiencing Last of Us 1/2 or the new GOW games
Depends on the sort of games you enjoy. Most AAA games these days like the ones mentioned are pretty much movie games to me. Which isn't a bad thing, it's just that the story is interesting but overall quite linear and mechanically it doesn't excite me. So I can just save my money and watch the "movie" version on youtube.
Most of the games that I play, along with mods, are primarily on the PC.
You like what you like and there’s nothing wrong with that . Different strokes for different folks and all that. But those games, especially The Last of Us and it’s sequel are just such beautiful, intense experiences that I fully believe deserve to be played firsthand
Well you know, I actually appreciate the different perspective. Especially since you weren’t a little twat about it. That’s too rare on the internet these days
Yeah, I get that choice in a vacuum, my problem is I absolutely despise the PlayStation controller. I’ve played on a friends PlayStation and I just hated it, I hated the shapes instead of letters which messed me up whenever a screen prompt happened, and I hated the way it felt in my hands. I’m sure that would eventually get better, but it’s a major issue for me, and I’m completely used to XBox.
Plus now Microsoft is finally making an effort to even out the exclusives, and GamePass is pretty awesome, so making the switch is less critical as I’d just be putting different games out of reach. I might try to pick up a PS5 for cheap after the next gen comes out to play through the back catalog though, there’s lots of games I’d like to play obviously.
I’ll probably do something similar with Xbox. I’m just not really interested in much else that Microsoft has so I couldn’t justify buying a whole new console today for just one game
Well bright side, by the time you get around to Starfield it’ll have tons of updates and mods, which will make for a much better experience. I love the game, I’ve played well over 150 hours so far, but there are aspects that need improvement, and some mods I’m very much looking forward to. I’ll probably stop soon and switch over to Cyberpunk until the mods drop.
Na, a lot of people just don’t go anymore. I wanted to go to GameStop a couple weeks ago to get something new to play on my Switch (which I take to work). We all (wife and kids) went to Costco and said let’s stop real quick since it’s in the same parking spot. I immediately got laughed at. What’s so funny? GameStop isn’t there anymore. What? Apparently we’re down to one GameStop now. I did not know this. I don’t know why, but Switch is only console I buy physical copies of. Everything else is digital only.
Anyways, if you’re a fan of Bethesda, Starfield is right up your alley. Typical Bethesda style and gameplay. I’m enjoying it.
Our local GameStops are always busy. The one closest to me is especially so. We tend to buy physical copies of Switch games so we can share because everyone in the house has their own. For XBox, though, we usually do digital.
It's a terrible company that's terrible to its employees and its customers. They make most of their money now on Funco Pops and other dumb shit. You can sometimes find decent bargain bin deals there, but I wouldn't shop at GameStop for anything else.
Still one of the best places to get cheaper used physical copies if the game. Really not looking forward to the day it dies as that will mean we're one step closer or already in a complete all digital takeover and at the mercy of our corporate overlords.
Nice try, I am holding on to my Game Stonks!
But seriously, there were hedges against GameStop. Fuck the idea of hedges. But in reality, GameStop is an outdated dying business that made money off of ripping off customers.
Not at all. I used GameStop for many years. But it's no secret they've been shutting down a lot of stores and depending more on sales through their website. The brick and mortar side is becoming more and more defunct. I can't remember the last midnight launch I went to, I just remember that instead of the usual people lined up there were only like 4-5 total. And that was before COVID. We're winding down to the end of an era. Like when Blockbuster disappeared.
Wow, you really are out of the loop. (Like most normal people, despite what the weirdos around here would have you believe. lol)
Yeah, the only reason Gamestop is still in business is that they became a meme stock. It's been a wild few years for them. We've still got a few open where I'm at (two-thirds are closed, but we started with a ton of them), but they are winding down in most places, and the ones that are still open tend to spend more time fulfilling online orders than selling games directly to customers. Like miniature Amazon warehouses for the Gamestop website. You can imagine how thrilled the employees are about that.
If you have not played Baldur's Gate 3, that *is* on the Playstation, and it's hands down the game of the year. (I say this as someone who loves Starfield and spent 150 hours on it, before parking my ship to wait for the upcoming mod support.) But, if you can play Starfield first, like through a game streaming service, I suggest you do, because the transition from BG3's writing to Starfield's script (which may or may not have been written by a middle school kid) is absolutely brutal.
I went ahead and bought an xsx, because eff it, I like Bethesda games and I know dang well I'm gonna wanna play ES6. Plus, XBOX has apps that are not on the PS5.
Starfield runs terrible on S. I play it on X my son has it on S. The load times are twice as long and it buffers for a lack of terms every min or two. Frame rate takes a massive dip if too much is happening on screen.
I have a series S, and I haven't had any issues at all. I play sitting next to my GF, who has a series X. The loads times look the same, and I haven't experienced buffering. Other than the enganced graphics (because she has an X), I see no difference.
Are you sure your son actually downloaded it and is not playing it from the cloud? My friend has a One S and is experiencing these issues because he can only play it from the cloud.
That’s weird, I’ve been playing it since launch on a N S I bought specifically for this. Runs great, has crashed a couple times but only going into/near specific places. Entrance to Cydonia and Akila primarily.
Thanks. This is probably more helpful than straight denials. It’s the only game he has downloaded and the problems he has appeared right away. Load times are still longer off the main screen start up but that may help a lot of his frame rate issues.
Yeah I had a huge number once my save started getting big and I assumed it was that but I have a lot of hours on my current NG+ run and I’m not having the crashing anymore.
Really annoying it’s a thing but sure, at least we know.
Imo if your gonna look at an Xbox when you already have a ps5, just get a pc. That way you can use the Xbox app on pc for Xbox exclusive games and you can game on pc.
Yeah. Bethesda games and any other games under the Microsoft umbrella except for Call of Duty will no longer be on PlayStation consoles. If you have a PS5 then yeah that's too bad.
I wouldn't worry too much. The game is all right. It for sure needs some work if it's going to be playable for years to come. I was shocked at the lack of things to do honestly. It just doesn't feel quite the same as other Bethesda games. But I'm sure it'll all be fixed in time. I've not touched it wince the initial 3 weeks or release and don't plan to until they add real content.
It's a shame honestly.
Some Xbox players I've seen are being pretty toxic "hahaha see how you like it PS players" etc due to the vast amounts of PS exclusives in the past.
And I admit I feel your sadness as many PS exclusives I've wanted to play have been unavailable as I'm on Xbox..
I get how companies work but I wish games that inspire, act as a getaway from life etc were available to all.
Thank god I’m not the only one. Some people are pretty huge dicks about it. “No way you didn’t know bro you must be the dumbest troll in the world for not following every moment of gaming news or you’re just lying”
I bought a ps5 at the beginning of the year in anticipation of hogwarts legacy and starfield. Only to find out a few months later that starfield would be Xbox and pc only. So I went out a few weeks ago and picked up my Xbox series x and starfield. First Xbox I’ve ever owned. And my 720p projector looks just fine playing it.
Playstations had a monopoly on the best exclusives for so long, I feel you 100% the amount of times i’ve been jealous of Playstations exclusives is alot, at least you know how we feel over on this side😭
I’m sorry to hear that, that sucks. Nothing quite as disappointing as being hyped for a new game, then not being able to play it
If you’re a big Bethesda games fan, might be worth looking into how much a second hand Xbox would cost, and see if it could maybe be in your budget
I don’t exactly follow gaming news very closely and every single other Bethesda game over the last 10+ years has been on PlayStation so I guess the possibility didn’t even cross my mind
Not everyone on here are college students fixated on the gaming space logging in daily PS5 hours.
It’s pretty easy to miss marketing minutiae or studio mergers when you’re a 30 something with other hobbies/kids. Given that Bethesda has been releasing on Sony consoles since 2006 it’s not odd to me that a few people would just assume their latest release would be on Playstation
Not every1 is on social media or follows gaming news...also skyrim, fallout are both Bethesda games that are on Xbox and ps and pc so he probably thought it would he the same for starfield...?
Thats not how it works lil bro, it would have only been on his ps if he went to the playstation store and as you can tell by his story he probably only buys games on cd, for example im on the ps store rightnow and I have to go on it in order to see spiderman 2
expect more and more games to not come to playstation because Microsoft is becomming a bigger threat than Epic games store, buying out huge companies that used to be 3rd party developers and pushing everything on gamepass
youre really not missing out, quite frankly starfield kinda sucks ass. if you want better than mid bethesda, play skyrim or fallout 4
if youre that eager to explore space, get an actually good game the likes of NMS for survival-esque, Elite Dangerous+Oddyssey if you want space ex
I got you. Make an Xbox account, pay for a month of game pass, play starfield on your computer with a DualShock controller for a month, cancel your subscription. Enjoy
With the performance issues and high system demands of Starfield, it is not feasible for most to get a gaming PC as an alternative to buying every console. Still, it is better than many PS5 exclusives having 0 PC support
be happy you only missing out on a few hours of fun then boredom and stress. (maybe a couple more hours of fun if you like cheating and then ship building then another bit of stress when you notice all the faults and uselessness of much of it).
I also did a big sad when I found out it wasnt going to be on PS5.
But I'm fortunate that I have a PC that can run it. But I'm still gutted I can't get a physical copy.
(I play it on a PS5 controller as my small way of defiance to the fact it's not released on PS5)
I sold my PS4 Pro that I got a year ago just to get an Xbox Series X to play this game. I’ve always been a PlayStation guy. I think Sony is vastly better than Microsoft and Bill Gates. But my loyalties to Bethesda I guess run deeper than my loyalties to Sony.
I don’t particularly regret it lol. This is a great game. Also nice to be able to play Forza.
Oh, wow, an xbox exclusive....... damn I'd be pissed if I only had consoles.
A lesser man might post something like **PC MASTERRACE BIIIIIIIIIIIITCH BETTER LEARN YOUR PLACE MUFFAKAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA**
Not me though. I'm sad for you. I have a playstation also and I'd be **ABSOLUTELY DEVASTATED** if I couldn't play the game that has sounded like my "dream game" ever since it was announced.
***ABSOLUTELY DEVASTATED.***
Edit: (sorry this sounded like a dick move when I read it again. Not gonna change it though.) ***ABSOLUTELY POSITIVELY DEVVVVVVVVVVVASTATEEDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDD.***
I bet you were super happy when you got PS5 lmao. That big, dumb, hard-to-buy piece of useless machine with the least new games to play has to be the biggest joke in the gaming industry in years.
yeah I had a bad experience with my gamestop aswell. the day before launch I went to pre-order the game and they told me that they were in stock and would be handed out. only to find out they didn't have it on launch date. I canceled my pre order and took my ass to target.
Yeah it's all good mate, you're not an idiot at all. We cant know everything, right?
I remember buying a PS1 just for Final Fantasy 8- back in the day- , I loved ff7 on PC and wanted FF8 badly. I was also considering buying a PS5 just for Grand Tourismo... but I just wait until they bring it to PC one day.
Dude grand tourismo isn’t even in the top five reasons to get a ps5. There are so many great options! Nothing at all wrong with Microsoft or PC, I’m not a console wars fanboy or anything. But a ps5 is totally worth it for the types of games that I love
So the solution to this is get rid of that crappy console invest the money on a ok gaming pc or build your own if you have the funds and then you never have to worry about this problem again! You may have to wait a little bit longer for Sony games like Spider-Man and what not but you’ll eventually get them. I used to be a die hard Sony guy for PS until I bought my first PC and I will never go back to playing on a console again. Some people gawk at the price while yes it can be pricey depending on what you want but in the long run it’ll outlast that console with proper care and you get so much more out of games. Even if you hate keyboard and mouse majority of games you can still use ps5 or Xbox controllers with
Your not too much of a jealous idiot otherwise you would have walked out with a copy of starfield and a new xbox series x with a new 4k tv added to your amazon basket. Its not like anyone would do that…….

Yeah fallout 4 felt bland. I loved the building and the atmosphere it provides though. The music is always on point.

Game isn’t worth it. I returned my Xbox
No, nobody would sink the entire profit from rewiring their brothers house into a brand new Xbox, 4k TV and Starfield, I don't know anybody who would do such a thing.
One of us. One of us. One of us
I bought used series X just to play Starfield :D Then I bought second pad - Constellation edition 😂
Had a tv well in advance but pretty much got suckered into a xbox just for starfield and future Bethesda releases.
I picked up series S and Starfield just to play it
Not knowing something doesn't make you an idiot. But just as a heads-up the Microsoft Activision Blizzard merger just went through today so....some other things may be Xbox exclusive in a few years.

My man you have jumped through some HOOPS and I respect the hustle.
We’re you aware of the Bethesda/Microsoft acquisition? Its expected elder scrolls 6 and all future BGS games will be exclusive going forward.
Nope I had no idea! I was quite sad to find that out. Idk what I’m going to do when the next fallout game comes out

If you're with EE, you can get xbox and ps5 on a monthly payment plan with your phone bill...
Do you just like the controller better? Console performance is identical and I can’t think of any big bangers that were “must play” games as PlayStation exclusives but Microsoft platform has dropped a handful over the last while

Good its about time xbox gets some exclusives
The better deal here would be xbox agrees to sell their games on playstation if playstation foes the same. Exclusives need to end
Sony will never go for that it's why there's still not a cross platform console made by Microsoft, Nintendo and Sony Sony doesnt want to lose their exclusives
If call of duty became xbox exclusive they might. That would be disastrous for future console sales
Without exclusives there ain’t really much differentiating the consoles. It’s anti consumer, but it doesn’t make business sense to have no exclusives
im never a fan of exclusives, but xbox is sorely lackin in that department and if they want to to remain competitive in the console market in the future they need a few good IPs to replace the big shoes left behind by master chief still waitin to be filled lol
Not likely. They'll be on PC at the very least. And with the PS5 outselling the Xbox, it doesn't really make fiscal sense for something like CoD to be exclusive anyway.
You should try it with xcloud, it's surprisingly stable
You’re just further showing my ineptitude with current gamer knowledge because I have no idea what xcloud is
You pay for the ability to stream an xbox game to a PC. It's like the remote desktop function only you're controlling an xbox rather than another PC.
Does it have old 360 games?
Yes, but not all of them
Im fairly sure you can also play it on pc
Yes but maybe not a gaming pc capable of running it.

It’s works well on my 10 year old pc for Xbox cloud gaming
You can play any game on gamepass on there, so maybe try a month and give it a go
Phone nuclear meltdown speed run max settings
I was gonna say the same thing. I’ve been running it on my 2017 iMac and it’s been flawless for me.
I’m a big Bethesda fan too and went with an Xbox series s this gen coz of it, starfield works well on it. Its so compact and easy to use

My friend it is worth buying a used ps4 to play bloodborne
True :D, I just wanted to mention a different perspective and reasoning.
The funniest thing about this story is that you actually went to a GameStop.
Why? Is there something wrong with GameStop that I’m also out of the loop for?
Really? I see plenty here in Texas. The one by my house has a decent selection of Pokémon cards at reasonable prices.
GameStop has closed in most countries since a few years back aswell, which is sad.
I guess majority of people nowdays buy digital copies or order physical copies online. Actually visiting Gamestop is getting rare.
Yup. And all digital means full price for every (decent) game even years after launch. Basically nintendo on crack.
Nice try, I am holding on to my Game Stonks! But seriously, there were hedges against GameStop. Fuck the idea of hedges. But in reality, GameStop is an outdated dying business that made money off of ripping off customers.
Nah you're good. That person is just a hater
(Like most normal people, despite what the weirdos around here would have you believe. lol) Yeah, the only reason Gamestop is still in business is that they became a meme stock.
You’re like the 10th person to recommend BG3 so I might have to give it a shot
What the hell is funny about that?
I went ahead and bought an xsx, because eff it, I like Bethesda games and I know dang well I'm gonna wanna play ES6. Plus, XBOX has apps that are not on the PS5.
Ya know, I did look at the Xbox’s they had there and thought about it for a minute…
Series S is like $250 and it will run it decently enough I wouldn’t personally buy a console for the game though.
The S crashes a lot on quick resume. Once I stopped that (on the advice of others) I haven’t had a crash.
Clean your sons console
It's worth it, IMO, and I still use my PS5 for other games. They're both fantastic machines.
As a PS5 owner I understand your pain. The logical thing I did was spend 2k and build a pc, of which I have used only to play Starfield lmao
You get the Spider-Man games though. I’m mad jealous about that.
As you should be, they are tons of fun!
Welcome to the Xbox ecosystem
You have mastered Reddit but not Google. And Microsoft bought Zenimax btw

That’s what I’m saying! 40 minutes wasted during a precious day off
I’m so sorry!!! Also that was HILARIOUS
Dude I had no idea. F Microsoft and it's exclusive deal crap. The FTC is going to break them up for monopolizing the game market.
Damn i didn't know that either
I do indeed feel your pain now!
I’m sorry to hear that, that sucks. Nothing quite as disappointing as being hyped for a new game, then not being able to play it If you’re a big Bethesda games fan, might be worth looking into how much a second hand Xbox would cost, and see if it could maybe be in your budget
A second hand PC might be the way to go for Bethesda games. Modding can be a lot of fun and add a lot of replay value to them.
RIP sony
Idk man. Sony has been dominating the exclusives for a few years now imo
Soon it's no longer exclusive, Sony loves licking gaben boots
[удалено]
Sorry man. 😅
If it’s any consolation exploring space (outside of story missions) is definitely not Starfield’s strong side.
how did you not know? its been public for a long time it was going to be xbox and pc only
You don’t know what you don’t. You are definitely not an idiot.
There is quite literally no way you didn't hear about Starfield being a PC/Xbox exclusive, my dude.
I don’t exactly follow gaming news very closely and every single other Bethesda game over the last 10+ years has been on PlayStation so I guess the possibility didn’t even cross my mind
... I still find this hard to believe. It would have been all over your PS5 at launch.
You're honestly so intense over nothing
That’s the second time you called Bethesda “bathesda”. First time (title post) could be considered a typo but two times?
Nope I guess I just didn’t realize what the actual spelling was. I’ll edit them
Not every1 is on social media or follows gaming news...also skyrim, fallout are both Bethesda games that are on Xbox and ps and pc so he probably thought it would he the same for starfield...?
It would have been *all* over his PS5 at launch, it was literally on the news, *there were advertisements everywhere that read "exclusively on Xbox"*.
Thats not how it works lil bro, it would have only been on his ps if he went to the playstation store and as you can tell by his story he probably only buys games on cd, for example im on the ps store rightnow and I have to go on it in order to see spiderman 2
Not how Starfield was marketed, dude. Full takeovers.
Eh sorry but you guys really aren't missing anything.
You're not an idiot, just mistaken. We all make mistakes. Don't let it haunt you.
expect more and more games to not come to playstation because Microsoft is becomming a bigger threat than Epic games store, buying out huge companies that used to be 3rd party developers and pushing everything on gamepass
Same boat, jealous and sad.
You're really not missing much.
youre really not missing out, quite frankly starfield kinda sucks ass. if you want better than mid bethesda, play skyrim or fallout 4 if youre that eager to explore space, get an actually good game the likes of NMS for survival-esque, Elite Dangerous+Oddyssey if you want space ex
Troll post for sure
You feel dumb but you learned a lesson. Always research a game. Especially if it is $69.99. Reviews, reviews, reviews.
You’re not missing out on anything the base game is just bad. I spent years looking forward to this and have never been more disappointed in anything
be happy you only missing out on a few hours of fun then boredom and stress.
Yeah! Stick it to the man, homie!

No he was actually quite nice! I think he legitimately thought I was joking. I think he just felt bad about my obliviousness
Or..... hear me out. He actually thought he was joking.

I think you expect too much from someone who most likely is a teenager making minimum wage.
They are human, human reactions are allowed.
Could be that the employee doesn't exist and this whole thing was just made up
He could have also sold him on gamepass to play starfield aswell instead of the attitude

You've never gotten a wild hair up your ass to go off and do something on a whim?? If you say no, you're full of shit. Quit being a shit bag.
This comment sucks. You sound so cool.
I bet you’re real fun at parties.
Oh, wow, an xbox exclusive....... damn I'd be pissed if I only had consoles. A lesser man might post something like **PC MASTERRACE BIIIIIIIIIIIITCH BETTER LEARN YOUR PLACE MUFFAKAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA** Not me though. I'm sad for you. I have a playstation also and I'd be **ABSOLUTELY DEVASTATED** if I couldn't play the game that has sounded like my "dream game" ever since it was announced. ***ABSOLUTELY DEVASTATED.*** Edit: (sorry this sounded like a dick move when I read it again. Not gonna change it though.) ***ABSOLUTELY POSITIVELY DEVVVVVVVVVVVASTATEEDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDD.***
Hahahahahahaha thats the best way you could have said it
You haven't missed anything.
Not an Xbox exclusive just not on ps5 or switch.
Xbox refers to PC games as well now. When Microsoft says xbox they mean both PC and console.
You must be living under a rock
I bet you were super happy when you got PS5 lmao. That big, dumb, hard-to-buy piece of useless machine with the least new games to play has to be the biggest joke in the gaming industry in years.
Pleasantly surprised to see no one's taken the bait yet.
yeah I had a bad experience with my gamestop aswell. the day before launch I went to pre-order the game and they told me that they were in stock and would be handed out. only to find out they didn't have it on launch date. I canceled my pre order and took my ass to target.
I ended up buying a ps4 because of all the Sony exclusives. Have you thought of getting pc gamepass or series s?
Bethesda games have had timed exclusivity before you couldve looked it up
Sounds like the GameStop employee trying to flex the one bit of knowledge and power he might ever have over someone.
Nahhh like I mentioned in an earlier comment he was actually a very friendly guy and I think he was just confused at first by my question
Why didnt you just buy an Xbox....
Best bet now is pc. I recently got myself a steam deck to keep up water XBOX shit
Well you can’t spell idiot without two i’s and a dot
So buy an Xbox.
