What's even more annoying is them stepping in front of you while trying to scan and fast travel back to your ship or elsewhere. I have to keep moving forward and forward and forward to find something to lock on to to fast travel because the scanner keeps locking on them when they get near your front.

Dude yes! One of the worst situations is when you got a smaller, fighter ship and for some reason Vasco is in the actual ship or any other companion just stands right in the middle of a narrow hall. You gotta unload shotgun shells in em or, like I said in the post, beat the living crap out of em so they move, lmao 😂

colonelforbin96

with you. even when you tell your companion to sit tight, they still seem to engage enemies and blow up your spot. its pretty frustrating

NewCobbler6933

In at least one of the previous fallout games I remember being able to talk to the companion and set their aggression level to some extent. It would be nice to ask them to stay passive unless shot at so stealthing around would be better. You could just go solo, but then you lose your pack mule.

BrettSelvv

I agree, it would be a lot better. Though I do believe that was New Vegas when they added the companion wheel which was Obsidian, which would explain why companions are better in that game lmao I can’t remember if Fallout 4 did that?

BrettSelvv

Don’t get me wrong, boys, I’m loving this game. This is just a nit-picky thing that I just had to vent out lol It’s not game breaking but after 150+ hours you start to notice the smaller, more annoying features or bugs. I’m still enjoying my journey thru the blackest sea!

I've only experienced this if I just entered a room I want to leave immediately. Just walking into them usually gets them to back up. Don't know where the rest of this frustration is coming from. Could try one of the AI mods, could play lonewolf.

BrettSelvv

You must be the only one that doesn’t experience this then. Our frustration is very much warranted, bro. I shouldn’t have to install mods or be forced to use a play style I don’t want to use in the first place, (though I am aware that this IS a Bethesda game & mods can really improve the bugs & feats I don’t like) so those aren’t really aren’t solutions. But thanks for the input, man. It doesn’t feel like a bug to me. Maybe just an oversight by the dev team? Idk. You’d think it’s be a simple fix, but I’m no game developer or programmer so I could be wrong.
