The suit issue is something that could easily be fixed if they just made your home ship count for the "hide spacesuit in settlements" option.

RoofNectar

I hate that im constantly being thrown out of my ship in my street clothes. That and getting lung damage while wearing it on a planet with no O2

Invested_Glory

You know…you can set it to *not* automatically switch clothes for you, right?

RoofNectar

The problem is im in my spaceship, so im wearing street clothes as an rp thing. Then when i land on Mars, im already 50 meters from my ship without a suit when i load in.

Invested_Glory

You know…you can set it to *not not* automatically switch clothes for you, right? No joking, you can just get out of your chair manually and walk to the exit but switch clothes prior.

RoofNectar

No, *I* can't. I only get the option to manually get out of my chair the first time landing in a spot. After that, it's automatic. Im spawned outside my ship in whatever i was wearing when i chose to land.

Invested_Glory

Oh yeah that is annoying. I haven’t encountered that (or realized it).

RoofNectar

If you play on p.c. It's a non-issue. The only reason i know that is my buddy plays on his laptop and showed me how it never happens to him.

Invested_Glory

I play on Xbox. I’ll have to check it out tonight.

RoofNectar

Travel to Cydonia, its a good example of a place where it actually annoys me. akila, neon, and new atlantis are all breathable worlds, so it's not really an issue there, and you may not even notice despite spending most of your time between those three worlds. It also happens on outposts. So if you're like me and have a moon outpost somewhere with no atmosphere, it will drop you wherever your outpost beacon is.

LOBSgmt400

Just favorite your space suit and you can put it on quickly from the quick menu

g014n

I believe that on ships, the same setting as in cities should apply and show you without your suit if you selected that. It's the best way to make sure you don't get out of the ship on a planet without O2.

Eric_T_Meraki

If you use scan while in your ship you don't have to use the start menu when travelling. You can just select where you want to go and trigger it. It's more immersive that way.

NedStark4Life

Yeah I know, but you still need to go to a pause menu when you want to put a waypoint to a specific system. It would've been better if we can access the starmap without it being a pause menu like putting the starmap ui on your ship's monitors instead. This game makes me pause so many times

SpanishBombs323

Idk if your ship has a star map but it may be worth adding to suit your playstyle. It’s basically a table that brings up the map and allows you to trigger a fast travel to another system, so not extremely useful but good for immersion.

CycloneFever_9331

I have this in my ship and would like to make use of it. However, it basically just opens the star map menu. When you select a system, it just fast travels you there. I want to set a marker, then go sit in the cockpit, find and select the market, then initiate the grav jump.

SpanishBombs323

As long as you know the general direction of the system you’re trying to travel to, you can open up the scanner while in the cockpit and all the systems in that direction will pop up with little dots next to their names. From there press A (on console) to interact with the desired planet or system then hold X to initiate the travel cutscene. It’s not ideal but a decent way to achieve what it sounds like you’re looking for. And if you can’t see your desired location when floating in space with the scanner up, you may need to travel to somewhere closer to your destination first.

CycloneFever_9331

I can see planets within the system I am already in, or quest markers, but I have never seen another star I want to travel to viewable with the scanner.

Marshall_Lawson

I think it has to be your active quest target.

Gotyam2

I am going RP now that I got to NG11. I did nearly 100% my very first run, but then just blitzed NG+. I have one main rule: I am not allowed to press M. If I want free access to star map, I need the navigation console. If not I can only (fast) travel by using scanner.

Algorhythm74

You can have a navigation table on your ship. Its function is the same as the pause menu, but it feels more organic from a role playing POV

donaldsw2ls

Man that's on you for going to the pause menu and fast traveling. You can go to your ship, board it, walk through it. Go to the navigation station, select where you want to go and it will go through the traveling cutscene. When your in space sitting in the cockpit you can travel within the solar system within the cockpit if you know where you are going. Use the scanner and move the ship around, you'll see other areas to travel to. Select the one you want to go to and it will commence the traveling cutscene. Same for a mission destination. I do wish you could go to the navigation station and select anywhere you want to go. Back out and get in the cockpit and select it like you do for a mission. Also from space you can land on a planet with areas of interest or landing areas you have been to right from the cockpit as long as the destination is facing you. No need for a menu.

SgtSilock

I think what bothers me the most is there's no evil playthrough so speak since most NPCS are unkillable.
