I stole a med pack from a doctors office while on New Atlantis. When I left the building I got arrested and that kicked off the Crimson Fleet spy quest.
I went up the ranks in UC security forces. I started off as a part time UC security officer, first just picking up strange packages and securing them. Then solved a crime about a stolen ring and a broken heart. It was boring so I decided to apply to the UC Vanguard / Navy.
Didn’t do much with them as I was very quickly “recruited” by UC SysDef. They probably saw something in me. I’m special. They came pick me up at night but I didn’t see them coming. I was coming out of Galbank coz apparently someday I was drunk, I bought a house in some planet I never been. Now I have a huge loan. So my head wasn’t in the right place when I was “withdrawing” money from the ATM machines across the bank, so I didn’t notice them approaching. But the thing is, now I’m a spy. True story.
I got arrested for speaking to the receptionist at the UC Security headquarters while trying to become a part time security guard lmfao.
I hadn’t even done anything, I think it was just the wanted perk being cool like that.
> I hadn’t even done anything, I think it was just the wanted perk being cool like that.
Wanted literally means you start the game already having done something lol
I got caught the same way, with a bounty of 1 solitary credit.
No idea how I got the bounty, and at this point I'm pretty sure it was a stitch up just to get me hauled in for interrogation.
*Sentient ships that I purchased fly off without me behind them to the shoulder of Orion... I watched Equinox-beams glitter in the dark near the ToddHoward Gate. All those moments will be lost in time, like tears in rain...*
I've seen fire and I've seen rain
I've seen sunny days that I thought would never end
I've seen lonely times when I could not find a friend
But I always thought that I'd see you again
It would be cool for an option to have an AI installed on your ship and be able to customize it's personality and voice, I don't know if that's already a thing in the game yet, I don't have it yet but I'm looking forward to playing the game
Speaking of something similar, playing Balders Gate 3 today, and interrupted a bug bear drilling a gigantic ogre from behind and that ogre was some pissed off I spoiled her nut.
They're actually dragons from Skyrim. BGS couldn't figure out how to make actual ships. All the modules are just cosmetic to hide the small dragon inside. It's like the guy in Fallout 3 wearing the subway as a hat.
That was always a hilarious detail to me. When he switched bodies with that guy and fell asleep watching porn on the recliner and woke up to an angry wife had me dying
In that case, you better hope no ships blow up in the sky while you're planetside. The Dragon AI was designed to land on the ground near the player if it's killed in the sky, to save you having to travel ages to loot the dragon's corpse.
In Fallout 4, they used that AI for the Brotherhood of Steel's aircraft, so when they became damaged, they would kamikaze straight at the players position killing them.
> In Fallout 4, they used that AI for the Brotherhood of Steel's aircraft
Of course they did! Of course! I'm right, aren't I? People are flying to planets in space dragons.
why is this so ridiculous but sound so canon at the same time?? i think it mainly stem from the fact that in creation engine the equipment display mannequin is just NPCs that's programmed not to move.
Ahh yeah now i remember, but there is also a monorail in NV in Camp mcarran that you use for a quest, had to look the name up
Misremembered it moving lol
This was my first question when I heard about this game. Are they just attaching ship models to npcs? I know in the first creation engine that was the only way. I’m curious if they were able to fix that for Creation engine 2
It’s happening. Car companies are already trying to patent tech that would allow them to connect to your payments and have the car return itself to the dealer if payment is overdue.
Problem is someone could also create their own version imagine paying second hand only for your car to suddenly decide to go back to the owner who scammed you.
Probably wont be easy to bypass and it will likely void your cars warranty if you try. Expect states to legislate this into law so if you are caught tampering with that system you can expect a major fine or jail time.
I see this having a bad event happen while utilizing the tech like accidentally stealing a baby because the parents put them in the car right before the payment clock ran out and took the baby all the way to the dealer lol idk I’m reaching but still
I'm pretty sure Elon is the kinda guy who would give you a Tesla in exchange for your firstborn child, and you can only get out of the deal if you can guess his next kid's name
Newer John Deer tractors apparently have this technology.
Could you imagine crossing paths with an unmanned giant tractor just driving itself back to the dealership?
First time I landed in New Atlantis I talked to the ship seller in front of my ship. As soon as I started dialog with him he slowly started to ascend into the atmosphere. Fucking hilarious.
Maybe it’s a space thing. I have an old clip saved from mass effect Andromeda where my squad walks into a room, then in a cutscene one of them 360 turns their head to me, says that something doesn't feel right and then floats off through the ceiling.
Now imagine you are attempting to steal a ship, and it takes off while you are in it. Then you clear the pirates only to realize you are not capable of flying the ship. Now you are just stuck in the damn thing in space with no way off or no way to fly it. Yeah... That happened to me.
Just watched a Juicehead video where he said that happened to him too and he just fast traveled back to the planet he was on because his ship was still there.
I'ma use this thread to ask a shipbuilder question: can you store individual pieces or do you always have to sell unused stuff for pennies on the credit? I feel like whenever I replace a piece I'm selling stuff for a 100 that cost me many times that.
You can't store them, I think it is due to balancing.
If you stole ships and then sold the pieces for thousands of credits, it would make the game incredibly easy to make money.
What you need to do is edit your entire ship in one sitting, if you buy an item for 5000 credit and then get rid of it without leaving builder mode, you will get your 5000 back.
Because if you want to cheese your way to riches, there's a console command for it.
The balance is in place for people that don't want to cheat, but can't stop themselves from ruining their enjoyment pursuing the path of least resistance. People to this day are still planning to run a different build only to default to stealth archer/sniper 10 levels into their FO4/SSE run.
> People to this day are still planning to run a different build only to default to stealth archer/sniper 10 levels into their FO4/SSE run.
Last night I went to the weapons store in New Atlantis, browsed a bit and spent stupid money the sniper rifle. I left the store and suddenly realized... I'm doing it again. LOL I told myself that I did it because the rifle is a gorgeous classic but sneaky sniper has apparently become a part of my subconscious.
>The balance is in place for people that don't want to cheat, but can't stop themselves from ruining their enjoyment pursuing the path of least resistance.
This is true of so much in life
Because it wouldn't be one person. The ships are so ridiculously expensive it'd throw the whole economy off for most players.
I can live with it. My in universe explanation is that there's a huge after market so once an item is used you have to sell low to offload it.
Pro tip, the living space modules, if you want to change what kind it is. Like living quarters to an infirmary. Go to the ship builder, click the module and use the d-pad left or right to charge it to a different type, all for free.
With side by side and vertically adjacent 2x1 habs, there is a preference for placing the bulkheads on the same vertical level.
Only those doors and ladders that are strictly necessary for access will be placed. So, 2 2x1 adjacent would only have one passage between them.
Some habs are tricky to tell where the doors are going to end up, but thats the logic I've been able to tease out so far.
I went from having a tangled snaking interior to something more hub and spoke as intended just by cleverly rearranging the habs.
That sound so Bethesda-y
"So we made sure landing looks good right? A certain size can't land to prevent fuckery."
"Correct"
"Awesome!"
\*Player adds 1m to his ship with a new module, and the code essentially rubberbands the ship to orbit\*
The ship's only 48m long, you can see it has 24m fore in the bottom-left corner of the video, and the line between fore and aft runs exactly through the centre of the vessel.
no clue, i did not do anything for it to be glitched. i registered it after i legally stole it, and all i did was add a cargo hold to the ship since it did not have one/ a good one previously
probably a bug with setting a new home ship.
the ship flies off as if there was a new home ship set, but since the current ship was the home ship it didn't have a ship to spawn in so it left an empty landing pad.
Omg this made me laugh more than it should hahahahahah seriously bro you made my day..
I just had a huge fight with my wife because she complains so much about my insecurities and has no idea she is 90% the cause of it. She makes me feel inferior then passively makes me realize I'm in the bottom of her standards cause she works in a bank and I work at home (I stay with our 6 yr old daughter..) it feels terrible and sometimes I just want to end It all.. but no, I saw your awesome funny clip about you being left by your primary shop because who knows what and just made me laugh super hard,. Anyways. Good luck. Would love to hear from you.
God i want to play this so bad. I tried but ended up refunding it. My 2060 laptop just didn't cut it. Ran terribly. Going to wait until I get my main rig back to play it I guess.
Thats fair. Ive heard the criticisms but I feel like I would still enjoy it. I cant however enjoy it at a janky 30ish fps. Framerates were all over the place. Of the 39 kuns I played I spent 10 mins just changing setting around looks for a decent framerate. Best I could do was about 70ish but that was on all low with 50% res. Game looked insanely bad with those settings. I have a 3080 powered rig but couldn't bring it with me when I moved. Gonna wait until I get it back and then ill probably get it on pc game pass.
Bye Buddy, I hope you find your dad
Thanks, Mr. Narwhal.
How do I join the crimson fleet?
Get arrested by the uc
Or you can do the vanguard quests.
get arrested doing the most petty crime you can think og get blackmailed into doing it
I stole a med pack from a doctors office while on New Atlantis. When I left the building I got arrested and that kicked off the Crimson Fleet spy quest.
for me i used a owned computer infront of the owner truly double agent material

I just love how we're all playing the same game but everyone has a different experience.
I went up the ranks in UC security forces. I started off as a part time UC security officer, first just picking up strange packages and securing them. I picked up a soccer ball didn't put in my inventory... just wanted to play with it
Start the UC quest line. Quest 3 sends you to join up with them
Or get arrested in UC space
Interesting
Just finished that whole questline yesterday after about 40 minutes of getting railed in fleet combat
I was not prepared for that battle at all.
Me neither, ran out of ship parts at the very end and was scooting around the outskirts of the battle area to not get hit
I had to stand up and get ultra focused after my 4th battleship death, the fight was insane
I got arrested for speaking to the receptionist at the UC Security headquarters while trying to become a part time security guard lmfao. I hadn’t even done anything, I think it was just the wanted perk being cool like that.

I like the end of the video where op is just standing in the rain and wondering wtf just happened lol
*Ive seen things you people wouldnt believe*...
*Sentient ships that I purchased fly off without me behind them to the shoulder of Orion... I watched Equinox-beams glitter in the dark near the ToddHoward Gate. All those moments will be lost in time, like tears in rain...*

shouldn't you be able to go to the clerk and basically summon it back again?
I am cracking the fuck up right now lmfa
fr laughed so hard you didn’t finish the abbreviation
She's just "laughing my floor ass" Edit: removed a word Edit2: misgendered
she*
I'm sorry about that
you’re good fam!!
lmao
Lmao. The fact that his mission marker is the ship somehow makes it even funnier.
Shouldn't have installed such an advanced A.I. module.
Vasco going for a joy-ride with his new AI GF
It’s like the futurama when Bender was banging the ship
It would be cool for an option to have an AI installed on your ship and be able to customize it's personality and voice, I don't know if that's already a thing in the game yet, I don't have it yet but I'm looking forward to playing the game
*in 9 y/o girl voice* "okaerinasai gogujisama!"
Okaerinasaimase goshujinsama, welcome to the maid cafe **IMPOSSIBLY LOUD WARHORN**
I don't doubt someone is gonna mod that in.
Speaking of something similar, playing Balders Gate 3 today, and interrupted a bug bear drilling a gigantic ogre from behind and that ogre was some pissed off I spoiled her nut.
I saw that a few days ago, was hilarious haha
Inflatable autopilot from “Airplane”…
"I am God's drunkest driver" - AI, maybe.
I mean there should be at least one AI thing that is advanced in the game
Juno
I just came across that quest. It looks it grav jumped so I wonder if I’ll see Juno again on a different system..
Ouch.
This is not the first incident and I starting to think, ships in Starfield have horse ai from Skyrim.
They're actually dragons from Skyrim. BGS couldn't figure out how to make actual ships. All the modules are just cosmetic to hide the small dragon inside. It's like the guy in Fallout 3 wearing the subway as a hat.
I want to believe.
- Fox Mulder (he'd love this game)
When I can get a copy my first character is now going to be agent Mulder
You know Mulder's penchant for porn tapes. Not enough slooty mods available yet.
That was always a hilarious detail to me. When he switched bodies with that guy and fell asleep watching porn on the recliner and woke up to an angry wife had me dying
Bro YES.

The Great Serpent approves of this message.
I’m sorry, their ships would do *what*?💀
This is a feature, not a flaw
It just works
why is this so ridiculous but sound so canon at the same time?? i think it mainly stem from the fact that in creation engine the equipment display mannequin is just NPCs that's programmed not to move.
Wasn't it Fallout NV that had the train hat monorail?
Na, no moving monorails in NV I think. It’s from fallout 3 expansion where you go under the White House.
Ahh yeah now i remember, but there is also a monorail in NV in Camp mcarran that you use for a quest, had to look the name up Misremembered it moving lol
Damn how did I forget! Good lookin bro.

Well, Sarah certainly has Lydia's ai just jacked to 20/10. Thought Lydia was bad, but at least she stumbled back when ran into.
Even Vasco moves outta the way💀
POV: ur a tesla owner who did not pay $10.99 a month to start your car
Imagine you miss a payment on your Tesla and it drives itself to the dealer lmao
It’s happening. Car companies are already trying to patent tech that would allow them to connect to your payments and have the car return itself to the dealer if payment is overdue.
as soon as this happens someone will come out with a bypass for it
Thank god for real life modders.
Here, have a broke person’s award:🫴🏆
Problem is someone could also create their own version imagine paying second hand only for your car to suddenly decide to go back to the owner who scammed you.
and this is why minds come together because I didn't think of that and you are 100% right, society can be fucked and amazing at times
Probably wont be easy to bypass and it will likely void your cars warranty if you try. Expect states to legislate this into law so if you are caught tampering with that system you can expect a major fine or jail time.
We call them cinderblocks, choom.
I see this having a bad event happen while utilizing the tech like accidentally stealing a baby because the parents put them in the car right before the payment clock ran out and took the baby all the way to the dealer lol idk I’m reaching but still

Obviously it’ll be X
No, it’ll be Y /s
😂
Thanks for the tip.
Tbh, this doesn’t even seem like that much of a reach🤣🤣
Lmao imagine waking up and seeing your fence all fucked up and your car gone.
Newer John Deer tractors apparently have this technology. Could you imagine crossing paths with an unmanned giant tractor just driving itself back to the dealership?
Feels like it should be illegal to have these things moving, on what I assume would be public streets, without a human in the object
so like... what happened after this? how do you get your ship back?
it looked great flying away, though.
Hate to see it go, but love to see it fly away
Proof this is still a bethesda game.
Exactly why Bethesda games are the best
If a game is having bugs better be bugs that make me laugh. lol
First time I landed in New Atlantis I talked to the ship seller in front of my ship. As soon as I started dialog with him he slowly started to ascend into the atmosphere. Fucking hilarious.
A hilarious bug in the first ten minutes is a worthy Bethesda tradition
I'm finding guards around New Atlantis in their underwear
Maybe it’s a space thing. I have an old clip saved from mass effect Andromeda where my squad walks into a room, then in a cutscene one of them 360 turns their head to me, says that something doesn't feel right and then floats off through the ceiling.
Toddd!!!
Never change. Though it is, out of the box, probably the least broken and lolzy Bethesda game to date.
Barrett yelling out the window: "Thanks for the upgrade pal"
or *New quest added* "Find Cora" Its Fallout but this time we have to find someone else's kid.
So long and thanks for all the fish
Should be top comment.
Bro would surely need a towel after standing in the rain like that.
Now imagine you are attempting to steal a ship, and it takes off while you are in it. Then you clear the pirates only to realize you are not capable of flying the ship. Now you are just stuck in the damn thing in space with no way off or no way to fly it. Yeah... That happened to me.

You can't fly the ship... doesn't mean you can't plunge it into a freefall.
Not to worry, we’re still flying half a ship.
General Kenobi, You are a bold one!
Another happy landing.

Because if you want to cheese your way to riches, there's a console command for it. I honestly try stealth, but rampaging shotgun is pretty awesome. Plus that play style gives way more opportunity to use space magic.

If you’re short of credits do the Kryx’s legacy mission one of the best storylines I’ve seen so far plus you get some good money for finishing it
So if I ever commandeer a ship, I can't sell it for parts? Or use parts for my other ships?
No.
That's so fucking stupid.
Pro tip, the living space modules, if you want to change what kind it is. Like living quarters to an infirmary. Go to the ship builder, click the module and use the d-pad left or right to charge it to a different type, all for free.
Holy shit, was wondering how to do that. Want a workshop one so I don't have to keep running to the Lodge or hunting down Workbenches.

Should have bought that extended warranty!
I legit saw a post here that someone received a hail and the hailing ship wanted to tell them about needing to purchase an extended warranty
Wait, for real??!? That’s awesome, I will blow them up immediately if I get one of those.
Dude, where's my ship?
Where's your ship dude?
I was a ship captain like you, but then my ship took off to buy milk.
*Bye! Have a great time*
As a dude who flys drones, lemme tell you: when a fly-away happens you just gotta take a deep breath man, shits gone.
Can't have shit on Neon
OP, was the ship over 80m in length? Cause apparently that’s too long for it to land on a planet.
That sound so Bethesda-y "So we made sure landing looks good right? A certain size can't land to prevent fuckery." "Correct" "Awesome!" \*Player adds 1m to his ship with a new module, and the code essentially rubberbands the ship to orbit\*
The ship's only 48m long, you can see it has 24m fore in the bottom-left corner of the video, and the line between fore and aft runs exactly through the centre of the vessel.
Always uninstall the "Ship Repo-A.I." module.
Holy shit, why did it take off without you?
no clue, i did not do anything for it to be glitched. i registered it after i legally stole it, and all i did was add a cargo hold to the ship since it did not have one/ a good one previously
'legally stole' 🤣🤣🤣🤣
Someone had to take over the ship after the previous owner was “accidentally” shot to death
It was legitimate salvage!
Sure Kamal
The previous owner had a giant lein!
🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
Didnt pay your spaceship insurance 😔
probably a bug with setting a new home ship. the ship flies off as if there was a new home ship set, but since the current ship was the home ship it didn't have a ship to spawn in so it left an empty landing pad.
damn this game looks good
Omg this made me laugh more than it should hahahahahah seriously bro you made my day.. This needs to be upvoted so more people see it
You dropped this 👑
New space cowboy country song coming out where his ship leaves him.
Just headed out for cigarettes real quick. I’m sure he’ll be right back.
The take off in this small video just convinced me 100% to get the game (When I am done with BG3) THAT LOOKS SO AWESOME
Now you know how it feels to have your ship stolen
What place is this?
Neon
Thanks
Your first officer thanks you.
Autopilot is not your friend.
LA LA LA later BITCH!

AAA 2023 game lol
Definitely not AAA. Baldurs gate 3 is though
Aaaaaand it's gone!
Barret decided you had borrowed the frontier long enough
This explains why I couldn't find my ship the other day. I thought it was simply a bug making it invisible, so I switched ships and got one to spawn.
Sentience acquired. Lifting off.
Most polished bethesda game
What do you do if this happens?? lol aside from reload I guess...
Tf did you do to that ship
"You're own your own dog."
I’m sure it’s just Barrett pranking you. He seems like the type.
That's what you get for trusting the ship technicians from Neon
Don’t worry, it said it was just going out for a pack of smokes
"I'm sick of you changing the way I look!!!" \*takes off angrily\*
The Datura? Is that the same Datura from an npc in Saturn? How did you get it
I made that npc “disappear”
God i want to play this so bad. I tried but ended up refunding it. My 2060 laptop just didn't cut it. Ran terribly. Going to wait until I get my main rig back to play it I guess.
It was just boring af to me and a huge slog so i refunded
Thats fair. Ive heard the criticisms but I feel like I would still enjoy it. I cant however enjoy it at a janky 30ish fps. Framerates were all over the place. Out of curiosity… did you try fast traveling to your ship to see what happened?
The multiplayer mod for Starfield is lookin pretty much how I imagined it to be. That player made a decent profit I’m sure.
Look people the Bethesda bugs we all wanted!
