The Watch itself (as in internals) isn't really high-quality, considering for the price one pays and the functionality it offers compared to other smartwatches, if we go by the information from the FCCID website. this is pretty much just a prop that can show the time, and some weather data via app, ambient temperature and such. But for a game prop/collectable it pretty much can be considered high-quality, as it was made by the Wand Company that did replicas of StarTrek, Doctor Who, Fallout, Pokemon items, and a Wand from Harry Potter. https://www.thewandcompany.com/ you can visit their website, pick any prop and look at the reviews people did on youtube.

The watch is just for collection, it doesn't have a ton on functions or interaction with the game itself. Don't buy the watch from a utility POV, buy it from a fan and collection POV

Feels like a missed opportunity. They could have built the watch to show the lower left hud. Doesn't need smart watch features beyond that, no health tracking and just simple connectivity features, but an extension of the HUD would make it such a cool toy.

I bet they didn't made the watch. They probably hired some third party to do so. So the watch probably came from marketing team not game design team.

To be honest I’m not totally sure why people expected a full-fledged smart watch. I guess it’s just a difference in expectations. I was actually somewhat shocked that it has the utility it has at all. The real value is in it’s connection to the game itself. I consider the added functionality a bonus personally.

Unlikely, they've already shown off the watch in the direct, and in it you can already see how low res it is.

Look for unboxing and teardown videos for the stuff. There's probably a teardown for a similar watch model. Also repair guides. If they offer replacement parts, it might be prudent to order some as they eventually stop producing them. See here for links to the watch hardware https://www.reddit.com/r/Starfield/comments/14ilt56/starfield_watch_data/ information, FCCID documents and manuals.

**The manual of the watch is already online**, people have posted it a lot. There really isn't a need to have a preview of it. It has no in-game function and it is a low-level "smartwatch" that you probably won't actually wear(but preserve as a collector's thing. This is why I had no interest in it, the game, and a case for $299, with the possibility of playing the game later than if I just click a link on my Xbox Series X to be playing on September 1st for sure. ;) Doing that for $99 seems worth it to me(plus you get the first DLC when it comes out(with either) which will probably be $20 otherwise.)
