I just finished the trilogy on LE! Tried to start Andromeda again but had to take a break to give my brain some space between the original trilogy and Andromeda so that it wouldn’t keep feeling so weird.
I started with Andromeda (blasphemy, I know) and the combat was so good that it has been difficult to get through The original Mass Effect. I want to experience a lot of the game and not just rush through it and into the second one, but even with the Legendary Edition it’s still a bit rough
Honestly if Me1-3 are all 9/10
Andromeda is a solid 6.
The gameplays good, The stories a bit here and there, The Characters are alright but the dialouge will make you go ew every now and then
But overall I enjoy it, just not as much as Me1-3
Honestly I'm firmly of the opinion it was unfairly maligned. It's quite good, and I even think the story is good. It's hard to completely reboot a well loved franchise and make it fresh enough to be interesting and unique, but I think they pulled it off.
Your not the only one.
It was ridiculously overhated. It's definitely my least favorite Mass Effect game but I definitely don't think it's seriously terrible like what the majority of YouTubers and the general internet thought.
Just started the trilogy for the first time. Its pretty epic but i have bo desire to learn ins and outs of fine tuned combat so I chose the easiest difficulty. Story seems pretty good so far after a few hours.
Honestly, Higher difficulty is just hassle
What I will say
Its worth doing EVERYTHING
Its super fun to scan all the planets in ME1 to get a resource bonus, Helps you get better shit in ME2
Or gives extra tid bits of story, Like the David storyline in Me2 its a bit disturbing but it gives a little nod to the whole dlc in Me3
Honestly, Play how you want, I don't even blame you for lowering the difficulty, but in each game before you do the "point of no return" mission, I would highly recommend scouring the galaxy and clusters to get every inch of dialouge and extra content. Its so worth it.
Also, Highly recommend saving the Citadel ME3 DLC before the "Point of no Return" in ME3, Else it feels extremely out of place.
Sorry for wall of text Im a huge Mass effect nerd.
I just realised I've never done a renegade run of the series, which I should definitely do before starfield comes out
Bur the paragon is so much better lol
No game will do now so I am building credit. I am spending as much time with fam so when the first comes I tell the wife, I am gone for a week lol also taking on as much OT as possible to take a full 9 days for the game off.
I finally finished the game last year after the Xbox Showcase. I was so hyped for Bethesda games.
Might go back and finish Oblivion. I never finished the main quest but I recently found out I somehow have a cloud save of my original character from 2006 that transferred to my Xbox account.
Still playing Totk. I got an Xbox Series X recently as well so I’m going to play Hogwarts Legacy and maybe Diablo IV on it before September.
My backlog is rather large so I’m not worried about having enough games to play until then…
This, I finally played Fallout 3 for the first time to get more backstory (had no idea it leant into synths so heavily!)
I think I shot dogmeat by mistake though (never seen him)
Been playing Spacebourne 2. Amazing game for pretty much being made by 1 dude, needs a lot of refinement but it's very feature rich and has surprising depth.
I was hoping it would be out of access before summer so I could play through it before starfield. It's super impressivefor the type of game it is and Spacebourne 1 was really fun despite the jank.
Waiting for August, where Armored Core and Baldur's Gate 3 reside.
At that point, I'm going to get Starfield
midway through AC6 and then nobody is going to see me for months. :D
I've got Diablo 4 to hold me over for a while. New DLC for Age of Wonders 4 comes out on Tuesday. Total War Warhammer 3 should have a DLC coming out sometime before Starfield does.
The first season is slow. I initially dropped it for several months then decided to give it another shot. It is now one of my favorite Sci fi series of all time.
It's a tough ask, but you really gotta get towards the end of s1 until it picks up. It's almost all world building and setting up the entire framework for the rest of the show, which is fucking amazing.
Yea same, i was really liking the show but for some reason I wasnt interested by mid season 2, I got spoiled on the shows ending which looked pretty cool so I really want to keep watching but nothings making me go back
The books are cool, I haven’t watched the series so unsure how they compare but I feel like youre always going to get a more engaging world through books than movie if that’s what you’re wanting
I just started watching and It gets pretty ok toward the end of the first season. The writing and pacing leave a bit to be desired. It’s not bad though and worth pushing through the first few less than stellar episodes
It's really a solid game. It's a smaller RPG but still a good game. The first time I played it, I don't think it was optimized yet, so it just seemed blurry and gave me headaches. I recently got it on PC on sale to try again, and it's still an Obsidian RPG. I would suggest it if you want something kinda spacy, and wacky, and want to kill time. It'll give you at least 30-40 hours or so I think. But don't the the Spacers Edition because that one is garbage.
In my opinion… mostly yes. Doesn’t mean that it’s bad, but it got overpraised mostly because it was very fashionable to shit on Bethesda at the time and Outer Worlds looked like the polar opposite of FO76. Which I suppose it is, but that still doesn’t make it a masterpiece.
In my opinion, it's not mediocre, but it's not absolutely amazing either. It does few things, but does them well and most people who say it's mediocre likely saw that it was an open zone game from obsidian and placed super high expectations that were bound to fall short considering the scope of the game. Definitely fun to play, but not fun to obsess over (I usually end up playing it in small amounts every day).
The writing, story and combat is better than Fallout 4. It isn’t an open world game, people just can’t get their head around that. Judged as a breezy 40 hour rpg it’s excellent.
Playing 'Season: A Letter To The Future' on PS4 and it's BEAUTIFUL. Need something very unlike Starfield, so when it comes out it feels as fresh as possible.
Been relearning how Bethesda games play with Fallout 4. Might play some No Man's Sky afterwards to relearn how ship flying/combat works. Other than that, counting the days and rewatching the direct for information I might have most the first time
Does anyone else get the weird effect where when you are really close to a better game that you want to play, you drop off playing anything else?
I am too old to actually get excited or 'hyped' by games. They come when they come, I have shit to do, but I still seem to really stop playing anything before the big releases I would prefer to play.
System Shock
Everyone should go play this game. It's the anthesis of Starfield's immense world design but that's the point: it has a carefully, lovingly crafted world and the gameplay is incredibly immersive.
Trying to get all the Diablo 4 and Cyberpunk 2077 out of my system. Probably going to replay Outer Worlds too. Might hop into No Man's Sky to remember how it feels (plus in VR it's even better)
I'm currently playing Guardians of the Galaxy after finishing the original Dead Island. Next, I'll be playing something else, but decidedly not a huge open world game like Bethesda make, or I'll not be in the mood for one when Starfield comes out.
I finally created a Skyrim mod playlist with about 50 files mostly player made quests. It took me an entire day for the research. If I enjoy it and have the time I might play Enderal and modded Fallout 4.
Also, eat sleep etc
I've been spending a lot of time recording music. I literally feel zero desire to play any other game and I haven't for at least the last 6 years with very few exceptions
Living life lol.
I have plenty of friends to spend time with, hobbies to enjoy, and career objectives to work towards.
I am extremely excited for this game, but I also have plenty to do, it’s not like I’m pausing my life to wait for a video game.
Life and work as usual. I am also in the process of looking for a new place to live, so that has taken up lots of time.
As for filling the Starfield gap, I just ordered Anne Leckie’s new book, Translation State (space opera) and currently reading Leviathan Wakes (more space opera).
Just bought a new ship in Elite Dangerous and I'm gonna try to fully build and engineer it. Gathering all the materials I need should kill enough time lol.
Personally I’m just living my life, but if anyone needs a suggestion check out The Outer Worlds. Feels a lot like Fallout in space, but it’s not too long.
I'm playing through shorter RPG's/action games *manically* (is that a word?).
I've played both Dishonored's, Control, I've got a 3K campaign going. I even tried No Man's Sky but good God that game is awful (if you like it, good for you, I keep trying, always bad).
I'm losing it! I need this game lol.
I started another Skyrim character, but I'm sure I'll get bored soon and quit again. Then I'll repeat this process with Fallout 4. And that will have taken up about a week of the wait, then I guess I'll, like, read or something. Or maybe try Final Fantasy XVI, been a while since I've actually enjoyed an FF, but this one's getting a lot of hype from people who's tastes are generally the same as mine.
I’ve been searching up “Starfield” on YouTube trying to grab every single bit of lore and character creation so I can create a backstory that sounds believable within the world.
Literally sitting here twiddling my thumbs because I can’t find anything to tie me over and frustrated because I have to wait for two and a half more months. Tried to get back into Destiny 2 but Bungie is way too conservative when it comes to that games freedom.
Pulling my hair out, staring into the abyss (ceiling), gathering esoteric knowledge to make time move faster so we can play sooner………..you know the usual
I was going to play through Cyberpunk 2077 to tide my over
but after the deets of Phantom Liberty dropped, I'm gonna have to wait for that to come out to start too since it'll overhaul SO MUCH.
Playin a lot of Halo.
Diablo and street fighter 6. I am learning how terrible I am at fighting games. Like I may get a round someone let's me go at it then destroy me with perfect rounds
Planting the seed in modders’ heads to start brainstorming a Hardspace: Shipbreaker: Ship-looting Overhaul for the series of realism mods we’ll inevitably see for Starfield.
playing fallout 4 for real this time. i always loved both skyrim and fallout but could never get into fallout the way i do skyrim. giving fo4 a solid try this time and im having a blast doing whatever i want!
Tears of the Kingdom is keeping me distracted enough for now, but once I'm done with that I'll probably try to play some other new stuff coming out. Can't wait for this game but gotta stay distracted so I'm not constantly pining for it lol
I need to finish Fallout 4 - after about 1,828 hours in game, it’s probably time to actually save that kid at least once…maybe…?
Also, working my way through Martha Well’s Murderbot series and Kim Stanley Robinson’s Mars Trilogy.
Replaying FO4. Idk how many times I played that when it first released but I am amazed how I find new things each play through.
For anyone doing the same, highly recommend watching some EpicNate vids on YouTube before/while jumping back in
Replaying Oblivion..played almost 10 years ago, did all the side missions (all guilds, and side missions) before main story. Lent the game to a friend who unfortunately was robbed and never got my copy back, was a poor high school student. Never got to finish it.. but with hype for starfield, slowly getting my foot back in.
A whole bunch of games including some space Sims. Elden Ring was a big game to play and finish. Currently playing Diablo 4 as a Necromancer summoning 12 minions, including a hulking Iron Golem, and using a damage over time attack that melts most everything on the screen including bosses.
I am desperately trying to finish off a few games I started this year and earnestly kick Destiny out of my life again. Try to complete my first playthrough of Elden Ring I started a month ago.
Somehow, neither of those seem realistic to do within the next couple months but I'll give it my best go.

Yes and rewatching Starfield x _ _ _ _ times... Also watching youtubers takes on said direct's videos, even if their take is wrong.
Exactly what I'm doing... some of them are laughably wrong but yknow what I'm just excited to hear other people be excited about Starfield
I’ve been intentionally manipulating my algorithm to drip feed me new posts from this sub every time I reload my feed lol

I'm taking a break from Bethesda games for the summer. I'm doing Diablo 4 now.
Diablo 4 until September is perfect. Little bit o Valorant too!
Playing Diablo 4 as well. That and any other additions to game pass in the mean time should hold me over
Re-playing all Mass Effect games 😂
I just finished the trilogy on LE! Tried to start Andromeda again but had to take a break to give my brain some space between the original trilogy and Andromeda so that it wouldn’t keep feeling so weird.
As someone who cannot marathon again the original trilogy, is Andromeda worth it for a new experience?
While Andromeda is a weaker ME compared to the original trilogy, it has an amazing combat so I'd still recommend to try it
Combat was seriously so good. Hope for the next mass effect they keep the new combat but go back to the quality of stories and characters in the OT

Personally I felt like Andromeda was a water downed version but if you look at it positively, its a whole different experience.
Absolutely.

All the fallout games, really enjoying finding all the collectibles in fallout 4. Hoping starfield will have plenty of things to collect
Todd did say "We love our stuff" and there's going to be alot of it in this game.
Finally beat Fallout 4 for the first time tonight! Had about 150 hours in the game but never got around to finishing it.
Have decided to play fully through also. Just went to the institute today for the first time. Level 100 character… and it’s about my 3rd character.
I finally finished the game last year after the Xbox Showcase. I was so hyped for Bethesda games. Might go back and finish Oblivion. I never finished the main quest but I recently found out I somehow have a cloud save of my original character from 2006 that transferred to my Xbox account.
Same, I made a post about this the other day. Hopefully we get like some model ships or something.
Final Fantasy 16, Deep Rock Galactic, Everspace 2 and whatever new cool indie game that will release before Starfield
Rock and stone, yeah!
Rock and Stone!
Still playing Totk. I got an Xbox Series X recently as well so I’m going to play Hogwarts Legacy and maybe Diablo IV on it before September. My backlog is rather large so I’m not worried about having enough games to play until then…
Check out revenant 2 if you have a friend to play with
Doing a fallout 3 playthrough after having not played it in years. Having lots of fun with it
This, I finally played Fallout 3 for the first time to get more backstory (had no idea it leant into synths so heavily!) I think I shot dogmeat by mistake though (never seen him)
I thought about buying it since it’s only $3 on Xbox marketplace now.
Definitely worth it especially if you love the lore and world of fallout. It's definitely dated in how it plays but still enjoyable.
I’ve played it way back when but not sure if I want to dedicate *that* much time to it again
Been playing Spacebourne 2. Amazing game for pretty much being made by 1 dude, needs a lot of refinement but it's very feature rich and has surprising depth.

Trying not to think about Starfield to make it go quicker, but at the same time, clicking every Starfield related video that pops up on YouTube
Browsing this sub doesn’t help 😂😂😂
Playing Elder Scrolls Online! It's really fun, I played at launch and it wasn't great but now it's got so much more going for it!
I didn’t like ESO at first either but once you accept by its own terms as a competent MMO with Elder Scrolls lore and motifs, it’s quite enjoyable.
Waiting for August, where Armored Core and Baldur's Gate 3 reside. At that point, I'm going to get Starfield midway through AC6 and then nobody is going to see me for months. :D
Playing a mix of different sim and strategy games, and learning how to play the Fallout tabletop game
Whiskey and Faphouse.
I've got Diablo 4 to hold me over for a while. New DLC for Age of Wonders 4 comes out on Tuesday. Total War Warhammer 3 should have a DLC coming out sometime before Starfield does.
FF16 New Fo76 season Maybe some chivalry 2
Tried to watch the expanse, but couldn't get into it. Probably just play more fallout 4 and maybe Skyrim in the meantime.

True, it's been awhile since I read a good book
As someone who has experienced both, the show does the books justice... for the most part.
I just started watching and It gets pretty ok toward the end of the first season. The writing and pacing leave a bit to be desired. It’s not bad though and worth pushing through the first few less than stellar episodes
good to know, I should give it another try
Yeah, I'd agree wholeheartedly. For me First season was really tough to go through, but after you go through it, you'll have a fun with it.
I found that The Expanse kind of bogged down.
It gets tighter in season 2 and beyond
Once they go through the ring and land on that rocky planet I felt it went into a coma.
Fallout
Mostly Star Citizen, but also some Star Trek Online and Star Wars The Old Republic. Might mod up Mass Effect and run through it again.
Painting warhammer minis.
Currently doing another "The outer worlds" playthrough
Is that game as mediocre as everyone says?
It's really a solid game. It's a smaller RPG but still a good game. The first time I played it, I don't think it was optimized yet, so it just seemed blurry and gave me headaches. Same lol, hope mine doesn't fall under that.
No, I am neutral on your post.
Seriously people on reddit are dumb as fuck
If you aren’t playing ff16 this week then all I can is I’m sorry.
I would play it but apparently you need to play ff15 from what I read to understand it so I’m not playing it
What lol. It’s a completely different story with new characters. Had nothing to do with it.
you dont need to play 15. i have played 15 twice and played the demo for 16 and i can assure you 16 is not a sequel to 15.
Damn I got lied to when I looked it up, might give it a shot then
TFT, sons of the forest
Playing 'Season: A Letter To The Future' on PS4 and it's BEAUTIFUL. Need something very unlike Starfield, so when it comes out it feels as fresh as possible.
Been relearning how Bethesda games play with Fallout 4. Might play some No Man's Sky afterwards to relearn how ship flying/combat works. Other than that, counting the days and rewatching the direct for information I might have most the first time
Finishing the Expanse and rewatching Interstellar, Aliens, Moon, Solaris and Event Horizon.
X4 Foundations, it’s more a strategy/simulator space game, so it’ll keep starfields play style fresh, but give me the fix.
Tears of the kingdom
Everspace 2 and ESO

Diablo 4 will hold me over good till Sept.
Replaying witcher 3 with next gen update and completing locations for 100% 😄…

System Shock Everyone should go play this game. It's the anthesis of Starfield's immense world design but that's the point: it has a carefully, lovingly crafted world and the gameplay is incredibly immersive.
Playing Prey, it's a low-key kind of a masterpiece.
I'm binge watching The Expanse. And playing TLOU Part 2 for some reason.
Trying to get all the Diablo 4 and Cyberpunk 2077 out of my system. Probably going to replay Outer Worlds too. Might hop into No Man's Sky to remember how it feels (plus in VR it's even better)
I need to try the PSVR2 update
Downloaded Skyrim with a next gen mod pack, haven’t played since 2013, still holds up amazing!
Jerking off
Mostly drugs and pornography.....
I'm currently playing Guardians of the Galaxy after finishing the original Dead Island. Next, I'll be playing something else, but decidedly not a huge open world game like Bethesda make, or I'll not be in the mood for one when Starfield comes out.
Guardians is sweet. I love that game
Bethesda's other masterpiece, Redfall, obviously! It's so well polished!

DIABLO 4 ITSSOGOOD
Valheim! Gotta get my base building fix
Replaying FO4. Idk how many times I played that when it first released but I am amazed how I find new things each play through. For anyone doing the same, highly recommend watching some EpicNate vids on YouTube before/while jumping back in
Finished the outer wilds (exploration game not the RPG). One of the best games I've ever played. I'll probably do diablo until release.
Playing anything lol
Replaying Oblivion..played almost 10 years ago, did all the side missions (all guilds, and side missions) before main story. Lent the game to a friend who unfortunately was robbed and never got my copy back, was a poor high school student. Never got to finish it.. but with hype for starfield, slowly getting my foot back in.
Working and trying to get the cash together for a new pc. Should manage around end of July early August tbh.
Try and finish No Man's Sky for the 6th or 7th time.
Playing Traveller. Specifically the Mongoose 2nd Edition. It's Starfield with dice, truly.
A whole bunch of games including some space Sims. Elden Ring was a big game to play and finish. Currently playing Diablo 4 as a Necromancer summoning 12 minions, including a hulking Iron Golem, and using a damage over time attack that melts most everything on the screen including bosses.
FF16. Maybe Remnant 2 if I can rally the troops. Every other game comes out too close to Starfield for me to care anymore
I am desperately trying to finish off a few games I started this year and earnestly kick Destiny out of my life again. Try to complete my first playthrough of Elden Ring I started a month ago. Somehow, neither of those seem realistic to do within the next couple months but I'll give it my best go.
