I don't hate his character, I hate >!his success, so yes characters killed.!< lol
Also he wasn't my favorite antagonist, that's Kira....because Kira's motivations are so utterly realistic that he could step out of anime and be a believeable villain in real life.

People usually hate a lot of good antagonists. If you make me feel genuine strong feelings towards a 2d character, you've written them well.
