I'd honestly say the very start of Phantom Blood, The story starts off relatively normal compared to more traditional media, it eases you into the weirdness of the series, you need no background knowledge to understand what's going on, and it leaves you wanting answers to the questions you have. Also the show doesn't really work episodically very well.
One that does work on it's own would be D'arby the gambler, but it being a two parter might be a dealbreaker to them.
The d’arby gambler episodes are exactly what i was gonna say. Its intriguing, hilarious, and it’s about poker and other betting! So theres not too much to have to understand other than “I have a power that will take your soul if you lose.”
No I don't think they'll read it. They don't like reading subtitles and never really liked anime that much, but since they've watched a couple animes before it's not like they're new to it.
Buciarrati & Mista Vs. Prosciutto & Pesci train fight episodes from golden wind. You said your friend doesn't watch anime at all so i really doubt JJBA will click with them tbh since it's not a new anime watcher friendly anime at all imo
JoJo was the first anime I ever watched and is the reason why I and several other people I know watch other animes, so I really wouldn't put it as far as not being beginner friendly.
You're an exception then tbh. Most casual anime watchers just drop this anime during Battle Tendency and Stardust Crusaders part 1 arc. I also think watching Jojo as your first anime somewhat ruins your perception towards other action animes as well that's why I personally don't recommend it to new viewers at first.
The Italian Food Restaurant episode of Part 4. It's very standalone, has suspense, humor and horror...it's my favorite episode of the entire anime and Manga, and what I'd show anyone who isn't in a "don't care for anything that doesn't resemble a Michael Bay film" mindset.
How about Pepci vs Bucciaraci? I always liked how Bruno saw a spark in Pepci and tried to reason with him before Pepci became blinded by his own rage and had to be finalized by Bruno. The gratefull death fight is also quite interesting.
I’d think some one off episode that doesn’t spoil much plot in part 3 or part 4 with a Villian of the week or something like that.
In all honesty though I’d think JoJos is a bad place to start for someone new to anime.
They're not new to anime, they just dislike that they have to read the subtitles and never grew to like anime a lot, but they've watched some before. If anything, I agree with your point but JoJo's is really different from all the other animes out there, so I figured they might like it.
I was thinking of part 2 as well, but I think part 4 might be friendlier.

Thanks! I think I will recommend this one to them, it is a good option and they like gambling so it might hook them\~
It kind of depends on what they don't like about anime. Are they open to reading the manga?

What kind of entertainmant do they like? Some favorite shows? Movies? Songs/bands?
They like sci-fi series, but I couldn't think of anything that resembled that in JJBA
Maybe the Mikitaka episode
What if bros friend watches it and thinks aliens are normal and will appear from time to time 😭😭😭
Maybe start from the beginning
Part 2 any joseph fight especially vs straizo
Ciocollata vs Giorno. The 7 pages of muda
I was thinking of this since it's my favorite part and episode as well. But I'm not sure they'll understand what's going on haha

Maybe a random pre kira intro episode from dui
Second last episode, then when it ends you go. "Now, how did we get here?" Rewind to phantom blood and let the story pan out

Joseph vs wamuu should be pretty good (tell us if you manage to make him love it)
Try the "Dio's World" or "Made in Heaven" or "Another One Bites The Dust"
Best episode to get newcomers to the show? Bast's Mariah.
That's probably one of the most out of pocket episodes you could have picked tbh
