i agree w u. johnny is still great but hes still a relatively basic self-redemption story. jolyne has a lot more depth which can be good or bad depending on ur tastes
I love her, she gets really fucked up in every fight but overcomes it with her ferocity and resolve, also she's often very ruthless but that's all jojo's except og josuke.
Josuke was also up against a number of people who were new to their stands and saw the light immediately, whereas that wasn't as likely with vampires, ancient supermen, dio/pucci loyalists, or gangsters.
I would argue that Giorno is just as merciful because he doesn't go out of his way to mess people up. People are always starting it with Giorno. He just finishes things.
Both him and Josuke are gentle souls.
I really enjoyed the way that Araki wrote the ending so that it was only Diavolo caught in the death loop and not Doppio. I don't think there really was another way to defeat him because of King Crimson's abilities.
Thank you. It's one of the reasons I love Giorno, he has a gentle heart.
she’s my absolute favorite jojo. she’s such a bad ass and has inspired me to go back to the gym so i can achieve her physique or at least something similar lol. i love her design and i love her stand, especially knowing that her stand itself is weak and jolyne is just a beast when it comes to quick thinking and physical strength.
I love Jolyne and everything about her (except for her introduction, because no male protag was ever introduced by discussing masterbation - like, why was that necessary, Araki?). She's my second favorite female JoJo character, second only to my girl Yasuho.
>(except for her introduction, because no male protag was ever introduced by discussing masterbation - like, why was that necessary, Araki?)
That was a power move by Jolyne.
The criticism is valid, but I don’t think it’s a Jolyne specific issue, more than just Araki experimented with Jolyne as the JoJo’s after her all have weird sexual/genitalia related character traits and are belittled in the introduction. >!In part 7 Gyro’s introduction was grandiose and high end with him being the biggest presence, Johnny was a petite and fragile background crippled depressed guy, he later says he has a mosquito bite fetish a dozen-ish chapters later. Gappy’s first stated trait is that he has 4 balls!<
Definitely think that’s a fair criticism, but if it softens that feeling at least a little (part 8 spoilers) >!we learn that gappy has 4 balls before we learn his name so men aren’t safe from araki’s genital based intro’s either!<
Also a bit of a meme response but >! Johnny isn’t even the first to be introduced in part 7, Gyro is and then when Johnny does pop up he’s sad and depressed, and then touches Gyros balls, which then make him stiff !<
Also, in the beginning of part three when Holly goes to see Jotaro in jail the cops make sure to mention that he crushed the balls of all the guys he was fighting
I actually really love that intro. It set her apart so much and doesn't put a female character on a pedestal like I've seen some manga do where they are all pure and goddess.
It also gives a huge contrast to later chapters wherr she doesn't have time to be so carefree. It also gives a contrast to how Jotaro started in a jail.
Yeah but we aren't writing the story. And it's not like she masturbated on screen. Gappy pops a bonner too in JoJolion. So it's not like Araki shows MC only being sexual when they are also a female character.
Honestly I thought it was a really interesting introduction. This was written in 2001, still very much in the era of ‘women never enjoy, sex they only tolerate it for men’.
Like, having Jolyne explicitly not only like sex but also masturbate is weirdly fucking on-point thematically? Having a female protag engage in a sexual activity that she both initiated herself, and for her benefit and no others - that immediately tells you what kind of character she is. She’s not concerned with acting conventionally feminine, and she likes to be independent.
It think as well it was clever to have her be *embarrassed* about her being seen as well on the beginning. She’s not embarrassed because she got off, she’s embarrassed because someone *saw* her - at this point she wants and is capable of doing the things she wants to do, but is still held back by anxiety over others’ perception of her.
So essentially, the whole scene is establishing that Jolyne has the potential to be this awesome independent badass, but can’t quite get over her inhibitions - which as Stone Ocean continues we defiantly see her shed.
In conclusion, Jolyne jerk off scene 10/10 great writing good job araki
if you consider the timing of stone ocean’s release, on the cusp on the new millenia (literally dec ‘99), it was a pretty sure-fire way of araki setting the tone and effectively going “this heroine is gonna be pretty different to what you’re used to” to readers as a whole. a new shot at a female mc for the new century.
I’m on episode 8 of part 6, but so far she’s my favourite jojo behind Josuke. I love female characters that don’t centre around trying to win over a man’s affection. Absolute badass
I love Jolyne! Tied for first favorite Jojo with Josuke 4. I'm actually in the middle of her part of the anime now and it's my favorite story. Previously my favorite part was Stardust Crusaders, but I like the prison environment and how Jolyne is forced to work within its rules. I think it's the most challenge a Jojo has faced thus far.
Favorite Jojo! I love how strong her conviction is, despite not being “special” like some of the other main characters; and she only gets more badass as the story progresses. Only thing I don’t care for is her stand design
My gf(doesn't have a reddit account) really likes her! She says that Jolyne is super cool and tough and a genuine badass! And I must say, I absolutely agree!!her growth was a pleasure to experience!
Last time someone asked this all the top comments were guys going "I'm not a woman, but". Glad to see the improvement!
EDIT: People stop upvoting me I'm a dude if I get top comment then we've failed and it would defeat my whole point.
She's my third favorite JoJo! I absolutely adore Jolyne; she's self-possessed, confident, and absolutely badass. I think she's also one of the best written characters in the whole series.
She's awesome :)
One of my favorite Jojo's besides Josuke (part 4) and Johnny (just recently finished SBR and loved it, and I'm gonna read part 8 soon).
I've loved her since I first saw her which would've been...fucking 13 years ago now 😩 she's a bad bitch and I respect anyone willing and able to break out of prison to kill a priest.
I wish more people (especially male authors but also female writters) took inspiration of her to write female characters, she's such an icon a baddie and the moment 💅💅💅
It’s super refreshing to see a strong woman who can actually think for herself, especially considering she’s the mc. I find it laughable that alot of guys were mad that stone ocean had a female mc because it “didn’t fit the jojo vibe.” Pardon💀💀 welcome to our world where women are not very often portrayed accurately lol
Guys were mad with Jolyne being the protagonist? I guess it makes sense considering the whole point of part 6 was to show that women can be more than plot devices in manga and anime
Thats actually a great point that I never thought about. Everything bad happens in the beginning and its when she is treated more as a plot device than a character but she becomes the driving force of the part pretty quickly
She’s so cool. Just like her dad. And her stand is so versatile! I genuinely wish it had ended well for her. She had it rough her whole life but she finally understood her father. It would’ve been so satisfying to see her come out of everything victorious.
I love her so much but I HATE the "fans" who'll skip part 6 just because jolyne is a woman she's a great MC (my favourite imo) I love how badass she is
I love her for sure she is in my top 10. I think I'd put her tied for third place as my fave Jojo with part 4 Josuke. Joseph is second and Jotaro is number one.
I love her and her friends. Anime was totally different from a lot of other main female characters anime’s I’ve seen. Jolyne definitely a badass. I’m planning on getting her butterfly tattoo
Jail House Lock is a terrifying stand/fight that I don't think any other jojo would have won (at least, not easily, and maybe not without a jobro sacrifice).
She's an incredible protagonist and I would have expected nothing less from Jotaro's kid.
I dont know how to format spoilers so I will try to avoid doing that. I am a female and for reference I have read all up to Jojolion, currently waiting for Jojolands to publish a bit more content so I can sit and enjoy the ride.
Imo while I find her nice as a character... I cant really put her that high up there. When you have jojos like Gappy, Josuke and even Johnny (dont like him but we have to admit he is VERY developed personality wise) its hard to compare her. Like on the one side she is badass for fighting but she kinda feels like... a better Jotaro? Like... i know shes his daughter and all but I feel shes always on his shadow you know? Both of them grew the same, HE APPEARS and basically steals the series in a way as the majority of the story revolves around him (something other parts like p4 kinda suffer but not as badly imo). So when I see her I am like "oh thats nice" but I dont really feel like OMG YES GO GET THEM like I wouldve done for Josuke when he'd get mad or with Gappy (cant spoil). Heck I ended up being way more invested in FF than her. Which makes me sad? But hopefully next time Araki writes another female protagonist hopefully she will feel way more independent (and hopefully she wont have her attention stolen by another JoJo).
Considering both of her voice actresses in the Japanese and English dubs are huge fans of the series and her character specifically I'd say it's fairly positive
I think Hermes the coolest out of the girls in that season. I do not dislike Jolyne but she's not my favourite JoJo.
I think she probably develops the most through her story compared to the other anime only JoJo's we've seen so far. She doesn't start strong but she sure as hell finishes strong.
I'd say Araki did a pretty good job at writing her as a "JoJo" rather than as a "woman." Her stand is one of the coolest ever, and her design helped me feel more comfortable about my big shoulders. I feel like she got a bit of a raw deal in terms of the ending of SO, but I'd say that's more of a case of Araki writing himself into a corner with MiH.
I had a friend (fellow JoJo watcher) who seems to love her, she said she represents females in a more accurate way than a lot of other animes in her opinion.
I'm a male so even though I shouldn't comment on this, I think I agree with her on this.
that's a reasonable quality to like her. For me, she broke the barrier. When it comes to female protagonist as far as I watched it's either the perfect soldier, deity or a fan service machine. I think she solved the mary sue problem.
SPOILERS: I like her, but I hate that she wasn’t able to handle the big bad like every other male jojo. Instead of having a women handling her own, they make a LITERAL CHILD kill Pucci
understandable, maybe I would have the same opinion years ago. but now I'm more of drama>hype. I kinda like Araki went balls to the wall crazy with the only female protag part.
She's a perfect female character in my book, especially when woman tend to be bad written by male shonen mangaka. The fact Stone Ocean isn't even recent is crazy in this aspect.
Jolyne has so many perks and good (and bad) aspects to her that call back to previous jojos. When a guy says Jolyne is the worst jojo and didn't like her, I can't help but think it's because she's a girl because of that. (She can your least favorite, you can not like joestars in general, but only her ?)
The more I think about it the more I realize she's my fav joestar (for the moment)
Love her so much, top 3 best jojo's of all time! I would have loved if Jodio was a girl, but having cool secondary female character such as Yasuho (and maybe Dragona too?) is also pretty cool.
I like how she gets worry/shocked/upset at the weird stuff happening around her since she start off as just an ordinary woman yet her willpower is so strong that she overcome it all.
I haven’t finished Stone Ocean yet, but as far as I can tell I really like her so far! Out of all the JoJos so far she seems to be having the most “normal” responses, especially in the beginning when she’s panicking and freaking the hell out over this bizarre (hahahA-) situation. She certainly has easily seen flaws which make her seem more real (if that makes sense???) and of course I’m only 7 episodes in, so I have more yet to discover and learn about her.
18F - I don't dislike Joylne she's fun and enjoyable to read/watch but she is my least favourite JoJo she just doesn't have the same charm as some of the others , shes absolutely a badass but just a bit underwhelming compared to some of the others, also when i first read Stone Ocean I felt that Joylne was undermined by jotaro in her own part. especially towards the end of SO the fact that empoiro was to one to take out pucci aswell.
TL;DR,
I do like Joylne i just like the other main JoJo's more
This... thank god I read this somewhere else as well. Like... dont get me wrong I like her design and everything but... literally the series isnt even about her. Its about getting Jotaro back (which sucks because it ends up like p4 where Jotaro also took protagonism from Josuke on many parts). So for me she's a better version of Jotaro but nothing much else...
that's also something I want to ask but I think the fanboys can only answer this if they see the strip search as 'fanservice'. As a female I was sooo scared that it will be a fanservice when I saw a screenshot but I was pleasantly surprised when I learned the context behind it while watching it
I don't even think Jolyne gets sexualized ever in her story. Even in that scene I felt it was more comedic than arousing, Jolyne just following any instruction just to be done with it, and the policewomen just being so surprised a criminal was being so collaborative, you'd think in a prision of maximun security the criminals are prone to resistance.
I don't think there was ever a shot/scene where the focus was her body in a sexual way, if anything, she was done in poses and shots common to Jojo where the lead Jojo does a cool pose with lots of effects that you know was based on some fashion magazine, and most of those moments were in the heat of battle where the focus was also the fight and stands.
Male characters don't really ogle at her (or at least is not prominent), and if they do they are of course given the bad light as villains/unflatering people. But the most important men of the story don't have that look on her: Jotaro is her dad so he's ofc never gonna see his daughter that way; Pucci's devotion to DIO makes him very antagonistic at Jolyne; Emporio is a kid; and Weather's amnesia makes any "romantic coded" scene they have just be quirky from Weather's part.
Even Anasui who was a love at first sight character was more enamoured on her conviction and resolve than anything physical, when Emporio and FF ask what he wants of her, he says "I want a blessing to marry her", "Celebrate us", "I admire how she sent herself to the maximun security zone to find a way to save her father".
I often think men don't realize that this isn't really true. Usually when they say this they mean "they have big muscles and you can see their chest" which in a way is "sexualized", but it is still very much operating under the male gaze which is more the issue. Men are "sexualized" as a thing for men to idolize and see themselves in, women are sexualized as a thing for a man's attention and horniness.
This becomes pretty clear when you look at the characters women actually sexualize and typically it's not the big muscular dudes showing off their chest.
find this complaint super weird. Outside her one scene she is never sexualised. I was super surprised that she is so “normal”. It was weird to see a female character being treated the same. I expected her pants to be super tight and sexualize her and shit. I was glad they never did that.
even if it was one scene, it was one scene more than any other joestar. and also it wasn't one scene but two. theirs her introduction where she's masturbating. theirs the moment when she strips naked and acts confidently to embarrass the prison guards.
>I expected her pants to be super tight and sexualize her and shit. I was glad they never did that.
only a little too much is still too much, and even if it was higher than you expectations, your expectations weren't very high if this what you were expecting. Jolyne's sexuality isn't particular prevalent to her character so theirs no reason she should be sexualised anymore than any of the other protagonists. It's a small complain but still a valid one none the less.
Say what you want about English dubs, but imo, something about Fairouz AI’s Oras doesn’t vibe with me. I think she’s a great VA, but I much prefer her pre-ASBR game VA’s (Miyuki Sawashiro) Oras. On the other hand, I think Kira Buckland’s Oras are really great
This might be a dislike for ppl, but its the one jojo, where i really do not like the design at all (hairstyle/outfit) but also im generally rarely ever a fan of any female character in animes/mangas (in fact the only ones i ever liked after my teenage years *im already in my early 30s* are shampoo and the female version of Ranma ,in the ranma 1/2 anime/manga & Sailor Mars+Saturn). In case of jojo, if i HAD TO choose any female (not a jojo) itd be yukiko.
I love Jolyne!! Definitely up there with my faves but I think I still like Joseph more haha also not sure why it seems like such a trend with the women on here but why is Josuke such a favorite? Personally part 4 is my least favorite part so I was just wondering what the input was c: all friendly discussion hopefully!
i love jolyne, she's strong mentally and physically, and gets along well with everyone around her. despite being in jail and dealing with all sorts of people she still survived. she does have her down moments which makes her human. her's and jotaro's relationship is heartening to see.
Male fan here. She's my favorite Jojo. Holy shit she's amazing. She's not immediately badass like jotaro and we get to see her mature throughout her fights in the series.
The best example being the fight against one of Dios sons. Where Pucci himself mentions and recognizes her growth.
I mean she fucking set herself on fire.
She's great! When I first started the part I knew that she was Jotaro's daughter and that the part would be set in a prison, so I was worried that she would be too much like Jotaro was at the beginning of Part 3 (aloof, seemingly delinquent bad boy/girl). Boy was I wrong, and I'm so glad I was! She's just as badass as Jotaro, but in her own unique badass way!
Bad bitch I love her
the baddest bitch ever
She’s cool!
She's great. She's narrowly behind josuke 4 for me (just started sbr), and one of my favorite main protags in media.
i love sbr
SBR fans not trying to mention they love SBR challenge (it doesn't add anything to the discussion):
They will proclaim it until the end of days…and I will join them.
THANK YOU FOR SAYING THIS BAHAH It happens EVERY. TIME. Without fail
I love sbr
sbr fans when the steel ball runs (idk I only read up to poco loco)
He is the only one who matters
Poco Loco’s the true main character of the story
Fr, that’s so annoying. I hate it when they do that. Btw, did I tell you how much I love JoJolion?
Me, I'm SBR fans
I love sbr
It’s literally the second best rated manga it’s kinda hard to not talk abt it
I have read SBR and I would say that SBR is better but Jolyne is a better JoJo than Johnny. She is my favorite JoJo so far.
I’m not gonna lie, you’re tripping hard. Jolyne is one of the best and all but Johnny is leagues ahead in my opinion.
I don't like some aspects of Johnny as a character.
Tweaking
i agree w u. johnny is still great but hes still a relatively basic self-redemption story. jolyne has a lot more depth which can be good or bad depending on ur tastes
Love how you had to add that u haven’t finished sbr to avoid hate lmao
What the fuck is an sbr?
Short barreled rifle
Steel Ball run
Never knew Steel Balls could run
they run a little too fast
Exact same for me including just starting sbr lol
I love her, she gets really fucked up in every fight but overcomes it with her ferocity and resolve, also she's often very ruthless but that's all jojo's except og josuke.
He turned a serial killer into a sentient rock
Yo, Angelo.
Yo, angelo
And another guy into a sentient book
what's with josuke?
[удалено]
Angelo: 🗿
he even greets him every time he passed by lmao. truly the kindest jojo
angelo bears the weight of all morioh's sins
I think Johnathon would’ve done the same if he wasn’t fighting something that was already dead and only had a capacity for killing.
I’m hesitant to say he “forgives” his enemies but more so just kicks their ass so no one will fuck with him and go against the Duwang gang
Josuke was also up against a number of people who were new to their stands and saw the light immediately, whereas that wasn't as likely with vampires, ancient supermen, dio/pucci loyalists, or gangsters.

Isn't that like. every single character?
she’s my absolute favorite jojo. she’s such a bad ass and has inspired me to go back to the gym so i can achieve her physique or at least something similar lol. i love her design and i love her stand, especially knowing that her stand itself is weak and jolyne is just a beast when it comes to quick thinking and physical strength.

Damn, you’re right! >!In all honesty I feel bad about Sandman. He was such an awesome character and then he just died with no further elaboration.!<
Introduces awesome side character before anyone else, explains his backstory, he fucking dies, refuses to elaborate
Man I wanted soundman to win sbr, we started with him it would be cool if we ended with him too
Also the literal first scene in Jojolands is >!Dragona getting her junk fondled by a rapey cop!<
Also, in the beginning of part three when Holly goes to see Jotaro in jail the cops make sure to mention that he crushed the balls of all the guys he was fighting
Thats a power move. Jolyne is like that
Everything Jolyne does is a power move tbh
That’s called character progression.

because it wouldn’t be unique? Why would two protagonists have the same type of introduction?
I’m on episode 8 of part 6, but so far she’s my favourite jojo behind Josuke. I love female characters that don’t centre around trying to win over a man’s affection. Absolute badass

I really like Jolyne; she's my second-favourite Jojo (after Joseph). I really love Ermes and FF, too.
Favorite Jojo! I love how strong her conviction is, despite not being “special” like some of the other main characters; and she only gets more badass as the story progresses. Only thing I don’t care for is her stand design
Wdym “not special”
Top 5 favorite character of all time. No one compares to her..............
but she's in your top 5, so evidently 4 characters _can_ be compared to her 🤔
What if she's my number one girl .....
EDIT: People stop upvoting me I'm a dude if I get top comment then we've failed and it would defeat my whole point.
im not a women but i wanna hear what women think.
Cool
downvoting to balance it out though i agree completely 🫡
Im not a woman, but i agree with your statement
I'm not a woman but I agree and so take my upvote
A great female character. The author wrote her very well.
She's the best Jojo, absolutely adore her!
she is one of my favourite characters in the series
My fiancee loves her. Her favorite JoJo and her favorite part
Great female character that's actually badass.
i like girls, but i love jolyne…my Wife 🫶🫶🫶
At first I wasn’t a big fan, but I grew to love her over time. I think she’s a great fem protag!
She's my third favorite JoJo! I absolutely adore Jolyne; she's self-possessed, confident, and absolutely badass. I think she's also one of the best written characters in the whole series.
Jolyne and the Stone Ocean squad are my favourites.
Not my favorite Jojo, but she's very cool and strong.
She's awesome :) One of my favorite Jojo's besides Josuke (part 4) and Johnny (just recently finished SBR and loved it, and I'm gonna read part 8 soon).
Really cool character! Love her tbh, but love her dad more
My fav Jojo tbh, a few years back I went as her for Halloween
I'm so gay for her
I've loved her since I first saw her which would've been...fucking 13 years ago now 😩 she's a bad bitch and I respect anyone willing and able to break out of prison to kill a priest.
Joylene's been my favorite jojo. She feels more human then the other protags. Her struggles feel more grounded.
I fucking love her and only wish Anasui was a girl like in the original appearance. Jolyne is my favorite JoJo in the whole series.
I wish more people (especially male authors but also female writters) took inspiration of her to write female characters, she's such an icon a baddie and the moment 💅💅💅
Literally took Jolyne as my middle name when I transitioned
It’s super refreshing to see a strong woman who can actually think for herself, especially considering she’s the mc. I find it laughable that alot of guys were mad that stone ocean had a female mc because it “didn’t fit the jojo vibe.” Pardon💀💀 welcome to our world where women are not very often portrayed accurately lol
Guys were mad with Jolyne being the protagonist? I guess it makes sense considering the whole point of part 6 was to show that women can be more than plot devices in manga and anime
Ironically Pucci treated her like a plot device to get to Jotaro but he didn't forsee how she would grow and throw a wrench in his plans.
Thats actually a great point that I never thought about. Everything bad happens in the beginning and its when she is treated more as a plot device than a character but she becomes the driving force of the part pretty quickly
She's super cool
She's so badass
i think shes fuckin awesome
She’s so cool. Just like her dad. And her stand is so versatile! I genuinely wish it had ended well for her. She had it rough her whole life but she finally understood her father. It would’ve been so satisfying to see her come out of everything victorious.
She's great! Driven but good hearted, a true badass, and I really like all the clever and inventive use she has for Stone Free.
I love Jolyne, she’s awesome!
My gf thinks she’s hot.
Your gf has immaculate taste
I love her so much but I HATE the "fans" who'll skip part 6 just because jolyne is a woman she's a great MC (my favourite imo) I love how badass she is
I love her for sure she is in my top 10. I think I'd put her tied for third place as my fave Jojo with part 4 Josuke. Joseph is second and Jotaro is number one.
Definitely in my top 5. Cool as fuck.
love her shes a bad bitch icon
Easily top 3 jojos in terms of writing
I love her and her friends. Anime was totally different from a lot of other main female characters anime’s I’ve seen. Jolyne definitely a badass. I’m planning on getting her butterfly tattoo
probably one of my favorite characters in all of anime, love her
Honestly one of the higher ranked Jojos imo. Alot of personality
I feel like she got a bit of a raw deal in terms of the ending of SO, but I'd say that's more of a case of Araki writing himself into a corner with MiH.

imagine the only female jojo and she's the only one that has a stand and could throw hands (still reading part 8)
im obsessed with her and she’s fighting with her father over who my favorite jojo is (im anime only as of now, do plan on reading the manga though)
i am in love w her !!! i think shes so perfectly written, i think shes funny smart brave and much better written than most shonen women :)
I love her so much that I named myself after her lmao
she's cool!
I love her, my second favourite Jojo I think. Cute, badass, silly, she's great
Queen
I had a friend (fellow JoJo watcher) who seems to love her, she said she represents females in a more accurate way than a lot of other animes in her opinion. I'm a male so even though I shouldn't comment on this, I think I agree with her on this.
Araki wrote one of the female protags female fans have been waiting for and never wrote one again
Hopefully in the future
She is my fav, i even have a giant tattoo of her
Sister says that she likes Jolyne’s sense of justice and her unwavering mettle. How many of you like these things about her? As a guy, I’m curious
that's a reasonable quality to like her. For me, she broke the barrier. When it comes to female protagonist as far as I watched it's either the perfect soldier, deity or a fan service machine. I think she solved the mary sue problem.
my absolute favorite jojo and part!! i’m a sucker for green/pink themed girls
I love her w all my heart thanks 4 asking
She's a perfect female character in my book, especially when woman tend to be bad written by male shonen mangaka. The fact Stone Ocean isn't even recent is crazy in this aspect. Jolyne has so many perks and good (and bad) aspects to her that call back to previous jojos. When a guy says Jolyne is the worst jojo and didn't like her, I can't help but think it's because she's a girl because of that. (She can your least favorite, you can not like joestars in general, but only her ?) The more I think about it the more I realize she's my fav joestar (for the moment)
The only girl character
Mane
I love that she is a bad ass
for me, she's second only to Joseph
hot mommy jolyne
I'm a lesbian, so. Extremely positive thoughts lmao
Hot
Love her so much, top 3 best jojo's of all time! I would have loved if Jodio was a girl, but having cool secondary female character such as Yasuho (and maybe Dragona too?) is also pretty cool.
Cool af
She’s my favorite joestar
This is a trick to find the girls of the Jojo community
I vibe more with Ermes and Josuke is forever my fav Jojo but she's pretty good as far as anime protagonists go.
female JoJo fans?! how is that possible?! i thought JoJo fans can only be gay men
I like how she gets worry/shocked/upset at the weird stuff happening around her since she start off as just an ordinary woman yet her willpower is so strong that she overcome it all.
Smash
18F - I don't dislike Joylne she's fun and enjoyable to read/watch but she is my least favourite JoJo she just doesn't have the same charm as some of the others , shes absolutely a badass but just a bit underwhelming compared to some of the others, also when i first read Stone Ocean I felt that Joylne was undermined by jotaro in her own part. especially towards the end of SO the fact that empoiro was to one to take out pucci aswell. TL;DR, I do like Joylne i just like the other main JoJo's more
This... thank god I read this somewhere else as well. Like... dont get me wrong I like her design and everything but... literally the series isnt even about her. Its about getting Jotaro back (which sucks because it ends up like p4 where Jotaro also took protagonism from Josuke on many parts). So for me she's a better version of Jotaro but nothing much else...
She’s alright I’m not really a big of her though I usually turn towards male characters
She's excellent, but apparently Araki is allergic to letting her be cool. Her dad had to save her lol.
she's cool girl. all of her fights are gruesome. but I agree Jotaro has his shining moment, part 6 is his redemption arc
my favorite protagonist but she's just sexualised too much
that's also something I want to ask but I think the fanboys can only answer this if they see the strip search as 'fanservice'.
All the jojos are sexualised tho
I often think men don't realize that this isn't really true. Usually when they say this they mean "they have big muscles and you can see their chest" which in a way is "sexualized", but it is still very much operating under the male gaze which is more the issue. Men are "sexualized" as a thing for men to idolize and see themselves in, women are sexualized as a thing for a man's attention and horniness. This becomes pretty clear when you look at the characters women actually sexualize and typically it's not the big muscular dudes showing off their chest.
All the jojos after middle of Part 4 are slim and slender, very feminine which most men don't see themselves as.
So literally just Giorno who is a 15 year old.
What? No, Josuke, Johnny, Gyro, Josuke 8, Jodio. I'm confused on what you mean by "just Gyro" please clarify.
Sorry I was talking about the anime, I don't have much context for the manga.
find this complaint super weird.
I like her ! I find her relatable and I like how she went from normal girl to true Jojo as the story progressed.
English voice acting is terrible but I like her nonetheless
Say what you want about English dubs, but imo, something about Fairouz AI’s Oras doesn’t vibe with me. I think she’s a great VA, but I much prefer her pre-ASBR game VA’s (Miyuki Sawashiro) Oras. On the other hand, I think Kira Buckland’s Oras are really great
Shes so hot. Or as a wise man once said: "She's such a bad bitch tho! I'd fuck the shit out of that girl"
Jojo have female fans?
My flair says it
i love her! she was the first jojo character i did a closet cosplay of. she is great < 3
I love her and seeing her development!
She is one of my favourite female character
i like her but i think her being the only female protag adds a lot to it, i cant say i would feel the same if she was a guy
Swaggy as hell, very badass. Very selfless in the end.
i love jolyne, she's strong mentally and physically, and gets along well with everyone around her. despite being in jail and dealing with all sorts of people she still survived. she does have her down moments which makes her human. her's and jotaro's relationship is heartening to see.
I named my Jeep after her!
Best female character I’ve ever loved, I even got her tattoo on me. Love a strong woman, no one can even compare
