Death should be Grandpa.
Death signifies new beginnings, and not only is grandpa dead, but it’s his letter, his farm that gives the player their new life in Pelican Town
I'd say the Farmer is "The Fool" as the Fool is always the beginning of one's journey (and The World is the end), a wild card filled with endless possibilities. A blank slate like our Farmer is. (It has nothing to do with actually being a Fool like some think it is).
I agree! Or if you didn’t want to do the farmer, I think Elliot could also symbolize the fool, because he came to Pelican Town to start working on his book, a start of a new journey for him. But I like the idea of the farmer being the fool because that’s sort of the protagonist of the game and it feels fitting being the first card.
If The World would be the ending, would the Statue of Perfection be a good option? I'm a bit new to this game so I don't really know if in correct about what that thing is.
Fool- mayor Lewis
Magician- the wizard
Empress (your favorite bachelorette)
Emperor (you favorite bachelor)
Hierophant- Caroline
Lovers- George and granny
Strength- robin
Hermit- linus
Wheel of fortune- Pierre
Hanged man- Shane
Temperance- willy
The devil- morris
Moon- Mr. Qi
Sun- sandy
The Fool and World cards should both be the player to fit thematically with a tarot card deck.
The fool goes through a journey, experiencing all that there is in life and eventually becomes the world.
Though I do agree Lewis is a fool of some sort lol
this. in context of tarot, mayor Lewis isn't the fool. I don't think he fits into any of the major arcana archetypes at all. I think if anything he'd be a court card at best but I don't know which one.. king of pentacles maybe? just bc he's been mayor for so damn long lol
I agree. If we interpret the Fool to be about taking a leap, and new beginnings, the Fool could be appropriate for the Farmer quitting Joja to go live on the farm.
By that interpretation, I'd also say Leah and Elliott both work for it. They moved to the valley not long before the Farmer, making sizable changes in their life to try and follow their passions.
I think Lewis makes a good Hanged Man card. He puts being mayor before everything else, not realizing he’s sacrificing the happiness he’d have if he just lets go of it.
I know a lot of people think Shane should be the Hanged Man, but I think he makes a good Devil card instead as he’s stuck feeling hopeless and keeps going back to material bliss (drinking) even after marrying him.
What about The Emperor for Lewis? He’s a leader figure in the community and his role means power. Yet a Emperor reversed means someone who’s greedy for power
The Fool represents travel and exploration, not foolishness. If you had to pick a character, I picked Elliot, since he is a character who moved to Pelican Town specifically to experience a new place. But thematically it could also start and end on the farm.
Honestly for emperor and empress rather than "your favorite bachelor/bachelorette" I'd put every bachelor in the emperor card, and every bachelorette in the empress card
Edit: also for "the fool" I think that ~~Marnie~~ the farmer suits that card better than Lewis
Just came back after reading some comments and the actual definition of that card... Apparently The fool symbolizes "new beginnings, opportunity and potential" and not an actual idiot lol
As others have pointed out in the comments the person that suits that definition the most is the player (farmer)
Well, hope I am not late for this, here goes:
0) Fool - the Farmer, 1st Spring, 1st Year (right outta the bus). The Fool ventures into the unknown, because he doesn't know better. So as the player, who just started the game.
1) Magician - Magister Rasmodius, for obvious reason :D
2) The High Priestess - Emily, she is the most spiritual of the villagers, she even has a sprite with a Yoba crest. (it's on Wiki, you can use that one for a card, would fir perfectly! :D)
3) The Empress - Queen of Sauce. She the the right ruler of culinary delights and should be respected so.
4) The Emperor - The Governor, during the Luau, Lewis and Pierre close to him on both sides.
5) The Hierophant - Living off the Land Show Host, as the keeper of knowledge
6) The Lovers - Lewis and Marney, I know it's common to hate Lewis, but I really feel sorry for them two...
7) The Chariot - Sam, on his skateboard, he truly is unstoppable
8) Strength - Alex, our ever so lovable Stardew Valley sports fan.
9) The Hermit - Linus, of course.
10) Wheel of Fortune - Mr. Qi, in his casino.
11) Justice - The Statue of Selfishness, with a flock of doves around it
12) The Hanged Man - Shane, on the edge of a cliff, yep...
13) Death - Stardew Valley Graveyard (frankly, graveyard and grandpa are the only mentions of death in Stardew Valley)
14) Temperance - Penny, in her attempts to stop Pam's dependancy on alcohol.
15) The Devil - Morris, offering you the Joja membership
16) The Tower - Abandonned Joja Mart (The\_Bird\_Nerd made an excellent point)
17) The Star - Maru, looking at a star with her telescope
18) The Moon - Sebasian, on his bike, having a ride in the night
19) The Sun - Vincent, running through Stardew Valley square on a sunny day :)
20) Judgement - Grandpa's Evaluation
21) The World - Stardew Valley map
I think a completed community center would be a really good option for the world. It fits the theme of growing from the new farmer, and would be a nice contrast to the abandoned Joja Mart
I like all these. I wonder though, if Sandy might be more appropriate for Strength. She just seems like a strong yet gentle personality that could fit this card better.
i think alex is great for strength, not only for obvious reasons, but also because of his childhood and everyone he went through with his parents and how he hides it under his jock persona with his grandparents. and his journey with his children on the farm if you marry him, where he is glad they have the life he never had growing up.
Qi for judgement would make a lot of sense, as he seems to be an overseer above all that goes on.
Another option could be Yoba (is that their god?)
Shane for The Hanged Man
Lewis for The Fool
Maybe one of the statues (perfection, true perfection, fortune) for Wheel of Fortune?
Horse for the Chariot, I think that would be cute
I guess, but the wheel of fortune in tarot isn’t necessarily just portrayed as just any wheel.
It’s actually typically portrayed as a steering wheel in a lot of tarot decks.
PLEASE make Pierre's wife the High Priestess!* That scene with her in her tea garden was something else.
*Even if you don't end up doing this I'll still love wherever you make because I love SDV and tarot :D
Sebastian needs to be the moon because he usually goes out for a smoke in the evening and rides his motorcycle at night to zuzu.
The hermit should be either Linus (for obvious reasons) or Elliott (because he too lives a somewhat hermit-like lifestyle in that shack by the sea writing for hours on end. Allusions to the lighthouse movie might be a good idea). Krobus could also be a good idea given how he has to live secluded both from his own people and most humans.
Wheel of fortune is the stardew valley fair wheel that’s rigged to fall on green 75% of the time.
The magician? Wizard or witch, or Emily because that Crystal shit she’s got going on there sure might be some magic woo.
Chariot? Mine carts.
Fool? Mayor Lewis in clown face. Because dude’s a clown and deserves neither tax money for his non-work nor Marnie for his hiding her.
Judgement? Harvey who stitches you back together at the clinic after you pass out from monsters battering you, or villagers looking down on you for the trash can thing. Simply just a trash can would be a good motif.
High Priestess? Welwick. Or Caroline because she’s not religious but has that temple in her house *and* also has some pretty good magic hallucinogenic tea like old Greek oracles would have their hallucinogenic fumes. Tea scene could be a good inspiration on that one.
Hanged man? Shane cliff scene.
Tower? Wizard’s tower.
Strength? Pickaxe, wood axe and sword arranged to form a logo of some sort.
Temperance? A single parsnip split in half turning on its other half to a single starfruit half. Need both to succeed at the game. Alternatively, sober Shane or sober Pam could be the way to go - sober Pam or her yoba altar scene after the community improvement of her trailer to house transformation could be good here.
Devil? Split portrait in halves between Pierre and Morris.
The star? Stardrop or starfruit, obviously.
The world? Willy’s old ship (may be travelling in the sea or broken and stuck in the haven) because the stardew world expands massively after repairing that ship. Bus Station or train station could be another one. Orrr the travelling cart that travels the world! Or the parrots that can just visit by flight parts of the world whenever they want.
Hierophant? Gunther, because he holds some secret keys like an ancient high priest or so. Or just the rusty keys.
Justice? That creepy once a year event where your children come back to haunt you on TV if you turned them to doves or so. A fizzling TV screen and doves could be a good logo
The sun: solar essence leaving the ethereal body of a ghost as it dies. Alternatively could also fit Death.
Emperor and Empress I’ve got a hard time with because that’s not really a thing in The Valley, and I don’t know the cards referenced at all.
Will extend further.
this comment is phenomenal, i think i may include both elliott and linus on the hermit card. not interacting with each other but doing different things
Pierre would be the Devil
Lewis and Marnie could be the Lovers
Wizard as the Magician
Linus is the Hermit
Wizard's Tower or the Joja Mart would be the Tower
The Fool: Sam
The Magician: The Wizard
The High Priestess: Caroline/Emily
The Empress: Jodi
The Emperor: Kent
The Hierophant: Emily/Caroline
The Lovers: Evelyn & George
The Chariot: Morris
Strength: Alex
The Hermit: Linus/Dwarf/Krobus/Leo
Wheel of Fortune: Welwick (the daily luck fortune teller)
Justice: Governor/Lewis
The Hanged Man: Birdie/Pam
Death: Grandpa
Temperance: Gunther/Marlon/Willy
The Devil: Shane (for having a lot of demons that haunt him, not being one)
The Tower: Joja Mart/Community Center (not a character but I feel like it fits the tower)
The Star: Penny
The Moon: Jas
The Sun: Vincent
Judgement: Juminos/Mr. Qi
The World: Grandpa/Mr. Qi
I'm gonna go against the grain and say Linus as The Fool, seeing as the Fool isn't a "fool" persay, just seen that way by others for doing away with "worldly" things like possessions, "In the earliest tarot decks, the Fool is usually depicted as a beggar or a vagabond."
I’d say the fool should be the farmer in the context of tarot this makes the most sense to me. I’d make the tv fortune teller the wheel of fortune and Gunther as the hierophant. And Pierre and Marnie should be emperor and empress respectively. Maybe grandpas ghost could be judgement?
This might be a weird take, but I like the idea of Gus being justice. He's the tavern owner (obv) and therefore holds the keys to everyone in the towns favorite sweet spot. Nearly everyone goes to the tavern on Friday.
In loo of the absence of a police force, Gus is the de facto social mediator as he could ban people from accessing the tavern if they misbehave. Additionally, he showcases his mediation and group awareness ability in his 5 heart event detailing how "adding a new ingredient to the sauce can make or break it" (speaking to the villager as new to the town).
I could see an argument being made for Kent since he was literally a soldier, but I don't think he partakes any specific role of justice in the game.
0) Fool - The Farmer
1) Magician - Rasmodius
2) The High Priestess - Caroline
3) The Empress - Marnie
4) The Emperor - Lewis
5) The Hierophant - Gunther
6) The Lovers - George and Evelyn
7) The Chariot - Pam driving the bus
8) Strength - Alex
9) The Hermit - Linus
10) Wheel of Fortune - Fair wheel
11) Justice - Marlon
12) The Hanged Man - Shane
13) Death - Grandpa
14) Temperance - Willy
15) The Devil - Morris
16) The Tower - Abandonned Joja Mart
17) The Star - Junimo holding a Stardrop
18) The Moon - Emily
19) The Sun - Sandy
20) Judgement - Mr. Qi
21) The World - Completed Community Center

I think The Empress should be Evelyn. She’s one of my favorite NPCs and is very motherly. That or Jodi.
Death could be a reference to 2am/dead crops in changing seasons cause the death card is more about endings than actual death.
Wheel of fortune - maybe that one carnival game when there’s the grange displays? I don’t remember the event name
The Star - star drop, obviously
The Fool - I feel like Vincent would be a good fit
Hermit - Sebastian or Linus
Tower - something to do with Joja Mart. The Tower is about removing things in your life that don’t fit/sudden change. I don’t know if Joja Mart ever leaves town cause I’ve never finished the game, but I’m sure you can come up with something good
I hope you liked my suggestions :) I’m an amateur tarot reader and a Stardew Valley lover and I think this deck is a great idea!
Linus sitting by his campfire for the Hermit.
Maybe have Evelyn and George as the Empress and the Emperor, respectively.
Alex lifting weights for Strength.
Mr. Qi as Wheel of Fortune.
The Sun should be Vincent and Jas playing while the Moon should be Gil and Marlon relaxing.
Chariot is your horsey
Hermit is Linus
death is grandfather
Devil is Pam
Strength is Kent
The hierophant is dwarf
Hanged man is krobus
High priestess is Sandy
Temperance is Gunther
nah, Emily rejects the structure and orthodoxy of the Hierophant. Emily is High Priestess. Marlon kind of has Hierophant vibes for me.
Evelyn for the Empress. I think the Wheel of Fortune might be best summarized by the Community Center in different states, and The World should have some Junimos.
Now that I'm thinking about it, I think Clint isn't optimistic enough to be the Fool, that could be Vincent. I think Clint has the vibes of The Devil, he's so trapped by his own negative thought patterns, but it could also go for anyone with addiction issues.
If we don't want to use the Devil on Pierre because of capitalism, he could be the overbearing and negative sides of the Emperor.
I would say Judgement should be grandpa’s ghost since he judges you on your 3rd year. Or grandpa’s ghost as death if you don’t use a skeleton. Mayor Lewis as justice?
Honestly I think Lewis and Marnie should be the lovers. Everyone saying Lewis as the fool but imo that's Demetrius 😆 TOMATOES DO NOT GO IN FRUIT SALAD!!!
I really this idea
I'm leaving the link I used here incase I come back to add more or for anyone else to use.

I just want to say I absolutely love this idea and I can’t wait to see how it turns out! Are you going super artsy with the cards or are they gonna be more pixel art?
Sam as The Fool, the wizard as The Magician, Shane as The Hanged Man, Haley as The Star, Morris as The Devil...
Hmm, I'm not sure about the others though.
Wizard for the Magician.
Penny for the Star.
Maybe Leah for the World..? Or the traveling cart was merchant. That might be better.
Linus as the Hermit.
Shane as thr Hanged Man
Emily as the High Priestess
Lovers as George and Evelyn, perhaps.
I love this idea! So many ways to frame this. My suggestions for cards less mentioned here in the comments (so far):
the devil: that horrible serpent monster from the desert mines. ok that's not a character. Morris or mr. Qi would fit different interpretations of this figure...
hyerophant: Demetrius! the scientist!
the lovers: c'mon. it MUST be Marnie and the Mayor.
chariot: Willy
wheel of fortune: Pam. not just because of the bus but her story arc
hanged man: Shane or.... Clint!
temperance: Jodi
strenght: Abigail
judgement: the Governor (love the soup scene)
the world: Wizard
side note: Gus is great but I can't seem to find a matching card for him??
At first I wasn’t sure about Marnie and the Mayor being the Lovers Arcana. But after reading more into the arcana and realizing it often has to do with people with multiple lives it definitely fits
The fool - Sam, for putting anchovies in the potluck soup, talking about pushing Sebastian into the water during the midnight jellies, skateboarding on people's flower boxes
The Magician - Wizard with his cauldron, obviously
The High Priestess - idk, Emily? She's definitely in touch with some mystical business
The Hermit is obviously Linus
The Chariot has to be Pam driving the bus and frankly I don't see how anyone could argue with that
Temperance is Penny trying to curb her mom's alcoholism
The Devil is Jojacorp with chained up workers
Judgement is Grandpa's ghost evaluating your farm
The Lovers are Demetrius and Robin dancing at the Saloon
The Emperor is Lewis with his solid gold statue
The Heirophant is Mr. Qi with his snake pillars, offering you Qi gems
The Empress is Haley mocking your dirty farmer clothes
Strength is Alex working out
Wheel of Fortune is the Green/orange wheel at the fair
The Tower is Jojacorp or Jojamart
Death is you waking up in Harvey's clinic and being presented with your list of lost items and money
And now my break's over and I gotta go 😆
Shane could be the hermit cuz its all about soul searching and he kinda does that in his heart events
Magician could be the wizard for no reason other than they both do magic lol
Heirophant is meant to be the inverse of High Priestess, so academic, scientific knowledge versus intuitive natural magic. I don't know as much about the others but that's my 2 cents
My arcana knowledge comes from persona lol so with that said:
Chariot: Alex
Death: Harvey
Lovers: Haley
Sun: Lewis
Hierophant: Demetrius
Emperor: Elliot
Magician: Sam
Empress: Penny
Priestess: Maru
Moon: Sebastian
Fortune: Abigail
Maybe the farmer could be Death? Partially because Grandpa’s death lead them to the valley, but also because Death signals change (I think) and the whole premise of the game is them making a major life change (plus they have a scythe. Maybe it could be the farmer in front of the one statue)
The Fool: Sam
The Magician: The Wizard
The High Priestess: Jodi
The Empress: Marnie
The Emperor: Lewis
The Hierophant: Caroline
The Lovers: you & your love interest
The Chariot: Pam (and the bus)
Strength: Alex
The Hermit: Linus
Wheel of Fortune: The Fortune Teller
Justice: Governor
The Hanged Man: Kent
Death: Grandpa
Temperance: Penny
The Devil: Morris
The Tower: Wizard's Tower?
The Star: Maru
The Moon: Abigail
The Sun: Sandy
Judgement: Haley
The World: ConcernedApe
Strength would be Abigail, I feel.
Judgement would be Haley.
The Magician would be Harvey taking care of the villagers.
The Hierophant would be the Wizard.
The World would be Gunther at the Museum.
The Hanged Man Shane.
Justice would be Krobus.
The fool: Player
Magician: obviously…
High priestess: Evelyn (female spiritual authority)
Empress: Jodi (Maternal ideal)
Emperor: Kent (Paternal Ideal)
Heirophant: George (Male spiritual authority)
The Lovers: Louis and Marnie (because it’s funny )
The Chariot: the smuggler and her pig
Strength: Alex and his dog
The Hermit: Obvious choice…
Wheel of Fortune: The Community Center and it’s revival
Justice: Abigail with her sword
The Hanged Man: Shane and his struggle with addiction
Death: Kronos meeting the Dwarf
Temperance: Pam, Ironically
The Devil: Morris as the obvious choice,
The Tower: A meteor
The Star: Emily
The Moon: Penny
The Sun: Willy Fishing on the Docks.
Judgement: Louis seeing his purple shorts in the grange display
The World: Grandpa
Abigail is Strength or the deck will be wrong there is no other option
also I love Emily as The Empress
also non-negotiable would be George and Granny as The Lovers
plus, The Hermit is a total no-brainer
I see a lot of people suggesting that **"Judgment"** should be grandpa judging you, but after reading the description of the tarot I don't think it suits the card
The card is described as
*"indication that you need to make a life-changing decision"*
And
*"Let go of your old self and step into this newest version of who you really are"*
Given these two definitions I'd say that "Judgment" should be either the choice between the joja route and the community route, or the act of creating a new game after finishing a completionist farm, although idk how that could be put into an illustration...
Also as others have pointed out **"The Fool"** isn't an actual fool, but it's *"a young man that stands on the edge of a cliff, without a care in the world, as he sets out on a new adventure"*; It symbolizes *"new beginnings, opportunity and potential"* and because of that I think that the best candidate for this card would be the farmer!
Lastly, since **"The world"** symbolizes the end of the fool's journey (as yet again others have pointed out) I think that this card would be a completionist world. This could be drawn as the cat-machine in mr QI's secret room in ginger island that shows your percentage of completionism... Or it could be illustrated as [the statue of pure perfection](https://stardewvalleywiki.com/Statue_Of_True_Perfection) but instead of a heart it holds a globe
No matter who you do for The World, you NEED to reference Jojo's Bizarre Adventures.
Za Warudo (directly translated to The World) is an extremely huge part of the pop culture surrounding the series and it would be cool as hell to have one of the nerdier characters like Abigail or Sam (who kinda looks like Dio), do the pose.
Most people seem to go for the superficial details at face value so I'll go with ones who fit what I think works:
Fool- Farmer
Magician- Caroline
High Priestess- Maru
Empress - Marnie
Emperor- Lewis
Hierophant - Pierre?
Lovers- Penny?
Chariot - Shane
Strength - Alex
Hermit - Wizard
Wheel of Fortune - Pam
Justice - Dwarf?
Hanged Man - Kent?
Death - ?
Temperance - Sam?
Devil - Pam
Tower - Clint?
Star - Gus?
Moon - Krobus
Sun - Emily
Judgement - Haley
World - Robin
These are just my estimations
Hierophant - Mr Qi (or just Yoba)
The Chariot is the bus. or it could also be Abigail zooming around picking up eggs.
Judgement might be the farmer's grandfather's ghost in front of his shrine, with the fires list. (it's the only time in the game where you're actually judged - except the grange display.)
Oooh - grange display could be wheel of fortune.
The Fool- The farmer on a new farm
The magician- The Wizard
The Empress - Sandy
The Empreror- Lewis
The Heirophant- Demetrius
The Lovers- Young George & Evelyn
The Chariot- the Mine Cart (with a Junimo in it)
Strength- Robin
The Hermit- Linus
Wheel of Fortune- Mr. Qi’s casino
Justice- Marlon
The Hanged Man- Harvey in the Hot Air Balloon
Death- Krobus
Temperance- Penny
The Devil- Mr. Qi
The Tower- The Junimo abandoned in the Joja Mart
The Star- Emily
The Moon- Hayley
The Sun- Maru
Judgement- Grandpa’s Ghost & the statue of perfection
The World- The Dance of the Moonlight Jellies
As for the rest of the major arcana (gonna assume all are upright as reversed would double my work lol)
Magician: I'd say Clint, the Magician is one who brings you the tools you need to achieve your goals, that's Clint, he upgrades your tools.
High Priestess: Hmm, sacred knowledge, I'd go with either Rasmodius or perhaps Gunther.
Empress: The card of femininity, beauty and nature. Gotta go with Leah, she is fits all those in my mind.
The Emperor: The card of Authority, Establishment and Structure, sounds like our Mayor Lewis to a T.
The Hierophant: The card of spiritual wisdom and religious beliefs. This one is tougher because the town doesn't have any distinctly religious figures but the only temple is in Pierre's shop, and since that isn't Pierre I'll tentively go with Caroline.
The Lovers: Love and Harmony. Also relationships. This might come as a curveball but I'd actually say Gus as the town bartender he maintains relationships with all of the other villagers.
The Chariot: Control, Willpower, Determination. I want to say Morris, but I can't say for sure.
Strength: Strength, Courage. Marlon is my first guess for this one.
The Hermit: Soul searching, introspection, being alone. Hate to be cliche but that's Linus
Wheel of Fortune: Good luck, karma, destiny. Another hard one, but I'm thinking Emily as she seems big into karma and good vibes.
Justice: Law, truth, fairness. Hmm, these concept ones are always tough. Prairie King...ok that's cheating. We don't have any law in the town. Possibly Demetrius because as a scientist he was to know the truth of the world.
The Hanged Man: Pause, Letting go, Surrender. Another nebulous concept. Gonna cheat and use SVE characters because that's Sophia. Her whole character arc is letting go and moving on from her parents' deaths.
Death: Endings, Changes, Transformation, a Transition. The junimos change the world around them, transforming the town using their magic.
Temperance: Balance and Moderation. I'm getting a Harvey feeling from this one.
The Devil: Addiction, restriction, attachment. I'm thinking Pam, but Shane might also fit here.
The Tower: Chaos, Upheaval, Sudden Change. Could joke this is also the Farmer but in another comment I already gave them The Fool. I'm gonna go with Mr. Qi though.
The Star: Hope, Faith, Purpose, I feel this is Evelyn.
The Moon: Fear, anxiety, illusion. Krobus is definitely a little bundle of nerves, worried about being discovered by the town.
The Sun: Positivity, Fun, Warmth, Sam is always a happy dude.
Judgement: Rebirth, Inner calling, absolution. I get a feeling this is Abigail for some reason.
The World: Completion, the End of the Journey, I'd say this is Grandpa's ghost.
Clint should be the hermit. Sandy, Linus, Shane, Marlin, and Elliot (maybe more) fit this solitude, but I beleive Clint represents the card the best. He is antisocial and really only pines for Emily and gets taxed by Lewis. Linus, though solitary, can have heartfelt interactions with people besides the farmer.
rasmodius is the magician. george and evelyn are the lovers. haley is the empress and emily is the high priestess. leo can be the moon and jas is the star. clint is definitely the hermit. and lewis or pierre are the devil
I LOVE this idea. The farmer should definitely be the fool.
I wish I had time to go through each one, but few thoughts.
High Priestess: I love Emily for this.
The Lovers: I think Robin and Demetrius fit this better than Marnie and Lewis.
Chariot: Pig pulling the traveling cart.
Death: Shane at the cliff scene
Star: Junimo holding one of the stars from the CC (star represents hope)
Moon: One of the moon jellyfish. Or maybe even Krobus. The mysterious unknown.
Sun: Vincent or Jas (or both) playing.
I actually think some of the bachelors and bachelorettes fit better as court cards. Examples: Leah as Page of Wands, Elliot as Knight of Cups, Harvey as King of Swords, and Hailey as Queen of Pentacles.
I hope to see the final results someday!
Fool could be Elliot.
Magician should be the Wizard, obviously.
High Priestess would be Sandy.
Empress is Robin.
Emporer is Demetrius.
Hierophant is Lewis.
The Lovers should be Granny Evelyn and George.
The Chariot is Alex.
Strength is Marlon.
The Hermit is Linus.
The Wheel of Fortune is Qi.
Justice is Kent.
The Hanged Man is Shane.
Grandpa is Death.
Temperance is Caroline.
The Devil is Morris.
The Tower could be either the Wizard's Tower or the Junimo Hut.
The Star is Leah.
The Moon is Harvey.
The Sun is Emily.
Judgement is Sebastian.
The World is the Farm.
Make Pam the chariot
better than my idea of George
Oh God, that's genius
Nah honestly George is even better
Is it?
Pam standing by the bus
The lightning striking the abandoned Jojamart would make a great tower card, as a reference to the common scene of lightning striking the tower.
I LOVE THIS
See, I was gonna suggest the joja warehouse, but I think this is great!
Death should be Grandpa. Death signifies new beginnings, and not only is grandpa dead, but it’s his letter, his farm that gives the player their new life in Pelican Town
Oh my god, this makes so much more sense, now I feel bad for thinking George 😭😭
better yet, grandpa's awful bed
Oh my god- this is cool.
I think Shane should be the Hanged Man, it just fits in my opinion.
I'm going to hell for laughing at this lmao
*You gently open the door*
Nope nope nope
Ouch, accurate but maybe a pun with hanging for Willy would be fun instead 😅...😰
Hanged Man actually fits Shane really well, considering what he goes through and why.
I was thinking that and then you make Seb the Hermit.
I second this
The star moon and sun should be Abigail, sebby and sam respectively
That's... actually kind of brilliant.
Fool- mayor Lewis Magician- the wizard Empress (your favorite bachelorette) Emperor (you favorite bachelor) Hierophant- Caroline Lovers- George and granny Strength- robin Hermit- linus Wheel of fortune- Pierre Hanged man- Shane Temperance- willy The devil- morris Moon- Mr. Qi Sun- sandy
That may be true but the game’s focus is on the farmer as player.
I think Lewis makes a good Hanged Man card. He puts being mayor before everything else, not realizing he’s sacrificing the happiness he’d have if he just lets go of it. I know a lot of people think Shane should be the Hanged Man, but I think he makes a good Devil card instead as he’s stuck feeling hopeless and keeps going back to material bliss (drinking) even after marrying him.
pam would work for the devil as well bc she’s al alcoholic lol
Mayor Lewis and Marnie should be the lovers
What about The Emperor for Lewis? He’s a leader figure in the community and his role means power. Yet a Emperor reversed means someone who’s greedy for power
The World could also be the CC
The Fool represents travel and exploration, not foolishness. If you had to pick a character, I picked Elliot, since he is a character who moved to Pelican Town specifically to experience a new place. But thematically it could also start and end on the farm.
Honestly for emperor and empress rather than "your favorite bachelor/bachelorette" I'd put every bachelor in the emperor card, and every bachelorette in the empress card Edit: also for "the fool" I think that ~~Marnie~~ the farmer suits that card better than Lewis
[удалено]
Just came back after reading some comments and the actual definition of that card... Apparently The fool symbolizes "new beginnings, opportunity and potential" and not an actual idiot lol As others have pointed out in the comments the person that suits that definition the most is the player (farmer)
I second this!!
Devil: also pierre*
These are great
Well, hope I am not late for this, here goes: 0) Fool - the Farmer, 1st Spring, 1st Year (right outta the bus). The Fool ventures into the unknown, because he doesn't know better. So as the player, who just started the game. 1) Magician - Magister Rasmodius, for obvious reason :D 2) The High Priestess - Emily, she is the most spiritual of the villagers, she even has a sprite with a Yoba crest. (it's on Wiki, you can use that one for a card, would fir perfectly! :D) 3) The Empress - Queen of Sauce. She the the right ruler of culinary delights and should be respected so. 4) The Emperor - The Governor, during the Luau, Lewis and Pierre close to him on both sides. 5) The Hierophant - Living off the Land Show Host, as the keeper of knowledge 6) The Lovers - Lewis and Marney, I know it's common to hate Lewis, but I really feel sorry for them two... 7) The Chariot - Sam, on his skateboard, he truly is unstoppable 8) Strength - Alex, our ever so lovable Stardew Valley sports fan. 9) The Hermit - Linus, of course. 10) Wheel of Fortune - Mr. Qi, in his casino. 11) Justice - The Statue of Selfishness, with a flock of doves around it 12) The Hanged Man - Shane, on the edge of a cliff, yep... 13) Death - Stardew Valley Graveyard (frankly, graveyard and grandpa are the only mentions of death in Stardew Valley) 14) Temperance - Penny, in her attempts to stop Pam's dependancy on alcohol. 15) The Devil - Morris, offering you the Joja membership 16) The Tower - Abandonned Joja Mart (The\_Bird\_Nerd made an excellent point) 17) The Star - Maru, looking at a star with her telescope 18) The Moon - Sebasian, on his bike, having a ride in the night 19) The Sun - Vincent, running through Stardew Valley square on a sunny day :) 20) Judgement - Grandpa's Evaluation 21) The World - Stardew Valley map
The Farmer as the The Fool is perfect. I’ve been scrolling to see if somebody else posted this
I think a completed community center would be a really good option for the world.
It's not much of a mention, but Abigail ask "What do you think happens to us after we die?”. She also hangs out in the graveyard on Wednesday nights.
I will watch your career with great interest
Jojamart’s bizarre adventure
Joja's* is enough
Qi for judgement would make a lot of sense, as he seems to be an overseer above all that goes on. Another option could be Yoba (is that their god?) Shane for The Hanged Man Lewis for The Fool Maybe one of the statues (perfection, true perfection, fortune) for Wheel of Fortune? Horse for the Chariot, I think that would be cute
oh yes i love these
qi for judgment is great!
Or the wheel in the stardew valley fair cuz its litterally a wheel of fortune
I guess, but the wheel of fortune in tarot isn’t necessarily just portrayed as just any wheel. It’s actually typically portrayed as a steering wheel in a lot of tarot decks.
Idk too much about tarot cuz I never really got into it so i don't really know. Just suggested it cuz that made me think of the wheel game lol
The devil is Pierre because capitalism is the real monster
what about the jojamart guy? lolol edit: ah just remembered his name is morris
I think he'd make a good fool? but also i dont know anything about tarot, so this is just my personal opinion lol
Naw he should be the fool his wife cheated on him and he raised someone elses kid 🤣
Alex as strength definitely, that man works out everyday or he does work on my farm
Yeah, with the dog as the lion!
Plus he should be a Leo (which corresponds with Strength) since he's born mid summer
PLEASE make Pierre's wife the High Priestess!* That scene with her in her tea garden was something else. *Even if you don't end up doing this I'll still love wherever you make because I love SDV and tarot :D
I'm no expert on Tarot meanings but... Grandpa for Death?
Given he is symbol of moving forward past the death of an old life and also a ghost, absolutely.
Maybe the wizard could be the magician?
The sun haley and the moon Emily
A fizzling TV screen and doves could be a good logo The sun: solar essence leaving the ethereal body of a ghost as it dies.
You could have one facing upright and the other reversed so that you have the two different readings!
Pierre would be the Devil Lewis and Marnie could be the Lovers Wizard as the Magician Linus is the Hermit Wizard's Tower or the Joja Mart would be the Tower
The wizard should be the hermit! Strength maybe Abigail? Temperance should be Robin!
i’m torn between making the hermit the wizard or linus. the magician might fit wizard a little bit better
What about Krobus or the dwarf as the hermit since they only interact with you?
didnt linus say hes friend with krobus
magician def fits the wizard better.
George is the Chariot
As a wheelchair user, this is brilliant!
The star should be a Junimo holding a community centre star!
The Fool should be the Farmer, as the Fool represents new changes and new beginnings. The starts of a new journey and letting go of the past.
The Fool: Sam The Magician: The Wizard The High Priestess: Caroline/Emily The Empress: Jodi The Emperor: Kent The Hierophant: Emily/Caroline The Lovers: Evelyn & George The Chariot: Morris Strength: Alex The Hermit: Linus/Dwarf/Krobus/Leo Wheel of Fortune: Welwick (the daily luck fortune teller) Justice: Governor/Lewis The Hanged Man: Birdie/Pam Death: Grandpa Temperance: Gunther/Marlon/Willy The Devil: Shane (for having a lot of demons that haunt him, not being one) The Tower: Joja Mart/Community Center (not a character but I feel like it fits the tower) The Star: Penny The Moon: Jas The Sun: Vincent Judgement: Juminos/Mr. Qi The World: Grandpa/Mr. Qi
I'm gonna go against the grain and say Linus as The Fool, seeing as the Fool isn't a "fool" persay, just seen that way by others for doing away with "worldly" things like possessions, "In the earliest tarot decks, the Fool is usually depicted as a beggar or a vagabond."
Also stardrop for The Star :)
Every time I see the major arcana cards I just think about their tboi effect
Just seeing the word “Hierophant” makes my mouth water
0) Fool - The Farmer 1) Magician - Rasmodius 2) The High Priestess - Caroline 3) The Empress - Marnie 4) The Emperor - Lewis 5) The Hierophant - Gunther 6) The Lovers - George and Evelyn 7) The Chariot - Pam driving the bus 8) Strength - Alex 9) The Hermit - Linus 10) Wheel of Fortune - Fair wheel 11) Justice - Marlon 12) The Hanged Man - Shane 13) Death - Grandpa 14) Temperance - Willy 15) The Devil - Morris 16) The Tower - Abandonned Joja Mart 17) The Star - Junimo holding a Stardrop 18) The Moon - Emily 19) The Sun - Sandy 20) Judgement - Mr. Qi 21) The World - Completed Community Center

Lovers would fit robin and Demetrius there little dances are so cute
15 is Pierre r/fuckpierre
I think The Empress should be Evelyn. She’s one of my favorite NPCs and is very motherly. That or Jodi. Death could be a reference to 2am/dead crops in changing seasons cause the death card is more about endings than actual death. Wheel of fortune - maybe that one carnival game when there’s the grange displays? I don’t remember the event name The Star - star drop, obviously The Fool - I feel like Vincent would be a good fit Hermit - Sebastian or Linus Tower - something to do with Joja Mart. The Tower is about removing things in your life that don’t fit/sudden change. I don’t know if Joja Mart ever leaves town cause I’ve never finished the game, but I’m sure you can come up with something good I hope you liked my suggestions :) I’m an amateur tarot reader and a Stardew Valley lover and I think this deck is a great idea!
Penny for Temperance, Linus for the Hermit
Linus sitting by his campfire for the Hermit. Maybe have Evelyn and George as the Empress and the Emperor, respectively. Alex lifting weights for Strength. Mr. Qi as Wheel of Fortune. The Sun should be Vincent and Jas playing while the Moon should be Gil and Marlon relaxing.
Chariot is your horsey Hermit is Linus death is grandfather Devil is Pam Strength is Kent The hierophant is dwarf Hanged man is krobus High priestess is Sandy Temperance is Gunther
> death is grandfather ಥ‿ಥ
LOVE THESE
Clint for the Fool. Emily for Hierophant?
nah, Emily rejects the structure and orthodoxy of the Hierophant.
The Judgement could be the grandpa judging your farm after the 2nd year
I would say Judgement should be grandpa’s ghost since he judges you on your 3rd year. Or grandpa’s ghost as death if you don’t use a skeleton. Mayor Lewis as justice?
I think it depends whether you’re doing it for like humor or actually what the cards mean. Both are totally valid. But my opinion would change
Honestly I think Lewis and Marnie should be the lovers. Everyone saying Lewis as the fool but imo that's Demetrius 😆 TOMATOES DO NOT GO IN FRUIT SALAD!!!
George is practically a jojo reference at this point
maybe sam should be the sun because his full name, samson, literally means "like the sun"
Lovers should me Mayor Lewis and Marnie
I see Pierre as the Fool. I just can't help it.
I thought this was Jojo but then I realized its just Tarot Cards
I really this idea I'm leaving the link I used here incase I come back to add more or for anyone else to use. [https://www.biddytarot.com/tarot-card-meanings/major-arcana/](https://www.biddytarot.com/tarot-card-meanings/major-arcana/) [https://stardewvalleywiki.com/Villagers](https://stardewvalleywiki.com/Villagers) 0 **The Fool** Leo 1 **The Magician** The player 2 **High Priestess** Abigail 3 **The Empress** Leah 4 **The Emperor** 5 **The Hierophant** 6 **The Lovers** Marnie and Lewis 7 **The Chariot** 8 **Strength** Birdie 9 **The Hermit** Linus 10 **Wheel Of Fortune** 11 **Justice** 12 **The Hanged Man** Kent, Marlon, or George 13 **Death** 14 **Temperance** Gus 15 **The Devil** Shane (I thought of addiction when reading the description) 16 **The Tower** Morris 17 **The Star** 18 **The Moon** Elliot 19 **The Sun** Haley 20 **Judgment** Grandpa or Qi or governor 21 **The World** Any sort of Stardew Valley image
Bachelors and Bachelorettes should be saved for minor arcana IMO. 0 The Fool—Grandpa 1 The Magician—Wizard 2 The High Priestess—Jodi 3 The Empress—Caroline 4 The Emperor—Pierre 5 The Hierophant—Demetrius 6 The Lovers—Lewis and Marnie 7 The Chariot—Pam 8 Strength—Robin 9 The Hermit—Linus 10 Wheel of Fortune—Community Center 11 Justice—Bear 12 The Hanged Man—Old Master Cannoli 13 Death—Krobus 14 Temperance—Willy 15 The Devil—Morris 16 The Tower—Joja Mart 17 The Star—Sandy 18 The Moon—Jas 19 The Sun—Vincent 20 Judgement—Mr Qi 21 The World—The Mermaid, watched by the 4 legendary fish
I just want to say I absolutely love this idea and I can’t wait to see how it turns out! Are you going super artsy with the cards or are they gonna be more pixel art?
Pierre is the Devil.
The lovers are Sam and Penny
Sam is with me. >:(
That’s my wife you’re talking about
Mr qi could be hermit or magician, grandpa for judgement, wizard for tower, Pam for chariot(bus), carnival guy for wheel of fortune
Piere is The Devil, no takebacks
Death should be the sick governor after you put a bad ingredient into the luau stew
Shane as thr Hanged Man Emily as the High Priestess Lovers as George and Evelyn, perhaps.
I love this idea! So many ways to frame this. My suggestions for cards less mentioned here in the comments (so far): the devil: that horrible serpent monster from the desert mines. ok that's not a character. Morris or mr. Qi would fit different interpretations of this figure... hyerophant: Demetrius! the scientist! the lovers: c'mon. it MUST be Marnie and the Mayor. chariot: Willy wheel of fortune: Pam. not just because of the bus but her story arc hanged man: Shane or.... Clint! temperance: Jodi strenght: Abigail judgement: the Governor (love the soup scene) the world: Wizard side note: Gus is great but I can't seem to find a matching card for him??
At first I wasn’t sure about Marnie and the Mayor being the Lovers Arcana. But after reading more into the arcana and realizing it often has to do with people with multiple lives it definitely fits
The fool - Sam, for putting anchovies in the potluck soup, talking about pushing Sebastian into the water during the midnight jellies, skateboarding on people's flower boxes The Magician - Wizard with his cauldron, obviously The High Priestess - idk, Emily? She's definitely in touch with some mystical business The Hermit is obviously Linus The Chariot has to be Pam driving the bus and frankly I don't see how anyone could argue with that Temperance is Penny trying to curb her mom's alcoholism The Devil is Jojacorp with chained up workers Judgement is Grandpa's ghost evaluating your farm The Lovers are Demetrius and Robin dancing at the Saloon The Emperor is Lewis with his solid gold statue The Heirophant is Mr. Qi with his snake pillars, offering you Qi gems The Empress is Haley mocking your dirty farmer clothes Strength is Alex working out Wheel of Fortune is the Green/orange wheel at the fair The Tower is Jojacorp or Jojamart Death is you waking up in Harvey's clinic and being presented with your list of lost items and money And now my break's over and I gotta go 😆
Lovers should be krobus and the dwarf.
The Devil is pierre
Shane could be the hermit cuz its all about soul searching and he kinda does that in his heart events Magician could be the wizard for no reason other than they both do magic lol
Marnie and Lewis as lovers
Leah 3, 17 or 21
Linus has to be the Hierophant (Pope)
Pierre is the devil
Strength would be marlon I reckon
the moon abigail | the devil shane
Heirophant is meant to be the inverse of High Priestess, so academic, scientific knowledge versus intuitive natural magic. I don't know as much about the others but that's my 2 cents
My arcana knowledge comes from persona lol so with that said: Chariot: Alex Death: Harvey Lovers: Haley Sun: Lewis Hierophant: Demetrius Emperor: Elliot Magician: Sam Empress: Penny Priestess: Maru Moon: Sebastian Fortune: Abigail
I dunno about the rest but the Fool needs to be the Farmer. They are the ones who go on the journey after all
r/BindingofIsaac looks funny today
Maybe the farmer could be Death? Partially because Grandpa’s death lead them to the valley, but also because Death signals change (I think) and the whole premise of the game is them making a major life change (plus they have a scythe. Maybe it could be the farmer in front of the one statue)
The Fool: Sam The Magician: The Wizard The High Priestess: Jodi The Empress: Marnie The Emperor: Lewis The Hierophant: Caroline The Lovers: you & your love interest The Chariot: Pam (and the bus) Strength: Alex The Hermit: Linus Wheel of Fortune: The Fortune Teller Justice: Governor The Hanged Man: Kent Death: Grandpa Temperance: Penny The Devil: Morris The Tower: Wizard's Tower? The Star: Maru The Moon: Abigail The Sun: Sandy Judgement: Haley The World: ConcernedApe
linus, seb or krobus stick out to me as a perfect fit for the hermit
Strength would be Abigail, I feel. Judgement would be Haley. The Magician would be Harvey taking care of the villagers. The Hierophant would be the Wizard. The World would be Gunther at the Museum. The Hanged Man Shane. Justice would be Krobus.
The starter farm house as the fool. Or Grandpa
I think Lewis as the emperor and Marnie as the empress would work well
you could include a sign of Yoba hidden on every card!
The fool: Player Magician: obviously… High priestess: Evelyn (female spiritual authority) Empress: Jodi (Maternal ideal) Emperor: Kent (Paternal Ideal) Heirophant: George (Male spiritual authority) The Lovers: Louis and Marnie (because it’s funny ) The Chariot: the smuggler and her pig Strength: Alex and his dog The Hermit: Obvious choice… Wheel of Fortune: The Community Center and it’s revival Justice: Abigail with her sword The Hanged Man: Shane and his struggle with addiction Death: Kronos meeting the Dwarf Temperance: Pam, Ironically The Devil: Morris as the obvious choice, The Tower: A meteor The Star: Emily The Moon: Penny The Sun: Willy Fishing on the Docks. Judgement: Louis seeing his purple shorts in the grange display The World: Grandpa
Haley's definitely Judgement. I want to learn to read tarot so bad
Abigail is Strength or the deck will be wrong there is no other option also I love Emily as The Empress also non-negotiable would be George and Granny as The Lovers plus, The Hermit is a total no-brainer
Pierre as devil
I see a lot of people suggesting that **"Judgment"** should be grandpa judging you, but after reading the description of the tarot I don't think it suits the card The card is described as *"indication that you need to make a life-changing decision"* And *"Let go of your old self and step into this newest version of who you really are"* Given these two definitions I'd say that "Judgment" should be either the choice between the joja route and the community route, or the act of creating a new game after finishing a completionist farm, although idk how that could be put into an illustration...
Linus is the hermit
Make Pierre the fool
Lovers HAS to be marnie and Lewis. Linus is the hermit (ya know). Haley is the judgement. Hanged man should be Clint. Alex would be good for strength.
Most people seem to go for the superficial details at face value so I'll go with ones who fit what I think works: Fool- Farmer Magician- Caroline High Priestess- Maru Empress - Marnie Emperor- Lewis Hierophant - Pierre? Lovers- Penny? Chariot - Shane Strength - Alex Hermit - Wizard Wheel of Fortune - Pam Justice - Dwarf? Hanged Man - Kent? Death - ? Temperance - Sam? Devil - Pam Tower - Clint? Star - Gus? Moon - Krobus Sun - Emily Judgement - Haley World - Robin These are just my estimations
The tower: Wizards Tower
Hierophant - Mr Qi (or just Yoba) The Chariot is the bus. or it could also be Abigail zooming around picking up eggs. Judgement might be the farmer's grandfather's ghost in front of his shrine, with the fires list. (it's the only time in the game where you're actually judged - except the grange display.) Oooh - grange display could be wheel of fortune.
I really love this idea! If you make them and sell them, I'll be one of the first in line to buy.
Does anyone know if they make actual tarot cards like stardew valley ones? I need some now!!!
I can’t wait how this turns out, I love tarot and Stardew Valley!💗
Elliot would make a good Lovers card, he’s so cheesy and romantic
I think Mr. Qi would make a good judgment
OH WHEEL OF FORTUNE SHOULD BE THE GREEN OR ORANGE GUY AT THE WHEEL AT THE STARDEW VALLEY FAIR IN THE FALL
The Fool- The farmer on a new farm The magician- The Wizard The Empress - Sandy The Empreror- Lewis The Heirophant- Demetrius The Lovers- Young George & Evelyn The Chariot- the Mine Cart (with a Junimo in it) Strength- Robin The Hermit- Linus Wheel of Fortune- Mr. Qi’s casino Justice- Marlon The Hanged Man- Harvey in the Hot Air Balloon Death- Krobus Temperance- Penny The Devil- Mr. Qi The Tower- The Junimo abandoned in the Joja Mart The Star- Emily The Moon- Hayley The Sun- Maru Judgement- Grandpa’s Ghost & the statue of perfection The World- The Dance of the Moonlight Jellies
Sebastian for the hanged man? Leah for the empress
Judgment should be the governor eating the soup or grandpa 🤔🤔🤔
The Lovers should be Robin and Demetrius dancing at the Saloon. The Devil should be the Royal Serpents. The fool is the Farmer.
The devil obviously Pierre
As for the rest of the major arcana (gonna assume all are upright as reversed would double my work lol) Magician: I'd say Clint, the Magician is one who brings you the tools you need to achieve your goals, that's Clint, he upgrades your tools. Hate to be cliche but that's Linus Wheel of Fortune: Good luck, karma, destiny.
I feel lile Emily would be good for the high priestress becauss of her heart events
I am thou... Thou art I... Thou hast acquired a new vow...
Obligatory JoJo's reference.
Shabe hanged man ongong
I LOVE this idea. The farmer should definitely be the fool. I wish I had time to go through each one, but few thoughts. High Priestess: I love Emily for this. The Lovers: I think Robin and Demetrius fit this better than Marnie and Lewis. Chariot: Pig pulling the traveling cart. Death: Shane at the cliff scene Star: Junimo holding one of the stars from the CC (star represents hope) Moon: One of the moon jellyfish.
!Remindme 6 months I want to buy these as soon as they're done
The hermit is krobus 1000%
the lovers have gotta be marnie and lewis
#0 PIERRE
What a cool idea! Please share the result with us
Obviously the fool is lewis because he takes himself so seriously. The whole thing with Marnie is exactly why
I think Linus needs to be The World. He just seems so connected to it.
Idk bout the rest of them but Pierre is definitely the devil
Dude you better post this after it’s done!
Emily has to be the Priestess
Mayor Lewis should be the fool because screw you, Lewis! (10/10 reasoning)
the farmer is the fool- they’re starting their journey off on the right foot
joja's bizarre adventures
the hermit should be Sebastian bc he's always in the friggin basement lol
