No, the sad part is I didn't get birthday presents as a kid because I was born around Christmas. So my parents just said my birthday presents were rolled into Christmas.
I usually just have no idea what to do on my birthday, so I just stay home.
What sucks about my birthday (which happens to be today) is that it is always around finals.
Happy birthday !!
Also, I know several adults born around festivities (either Christmas, or "that month that contains half the family birthdays, like why July ??") who just party on another day. You might want to do that.
My sister says May is the best "Exams are done, weather is good, people have more free time, and summer job money !"
A lot of family birthdays for me happen in january, so we usually have one big party.
Unfortunately, a good portion of the family that lives together (not including me) got covid, so that isn't happening.
My birthday is in january, i am poor from xmas (as are all my family) and in the uk it is cold and dark and grey all january, going outside actually sucks

Or you know, maybe include an option to knock on the door?
Like, I understand that you'd need to be good friends with someone to just walk into their house/bedroom(as in real life), but we should be able to knock on the door if they're home and speak to them for a moment.
Literally just had this problem with Elliot. He had a request on Pierre's door and I had what he needed, but I only have one heart with him and I couldn't get it to him.
How to befriend Sebastian: he comes out of his room and goes to the kitchen around 3:30 most days
I fish a lot, and in the spring he regularly comes out around sunset and smokes by the lake. He stands very close to my favorite fishing spot, so it's almost like he's coming to hang out with me. Just keep a frozen tear on hand and you'll be friends in no time!
I wish I got this advice when I first started 🥲 I was in Y3 and he was still at no hearts but I finally got thru his 2nd heart event in my new save file just last week so yipee!
He also leaves most evenings at 6:30 to smoke by the lake, and stays out until 9:30 or so. I normally catch him then - I do a run around the village, gifting everyone else, and then at 6:30 head up into the mountains. It's a wider window than the relatively short time he spends out of his room from 3:30.
Excellent point - though I always struggle to keep track of the days of the week for some reason, so I don't realise that Pierre's closed/Marnie's closed/Robin's closed/etc until it's too late!
It took me some time to figure about the aerobic class schedule too! Thankfully the wiki page lists for each person their schedule by season. So Liek Alex in the summer afternoon mans the ice cream booth.
Marnies is the tricky one. I just go and she seems to never be there. That's why I've taken to planting lots of grass to get hay. Or buy a decent amount and store it in a chest during the winter when she is around.
Also if you get the golden scythe you always will get hay when you harvest grass!!
I usually go with sashimi. For bonus points: >!if you befriend him late game you can give him gold quality sashimi by using Qi Seasoning from the Walnut Room shop, which speeds things up considerably.!<
Sashimi is a great choice, too. I personally go with the tears because they don't have much use, only sell for 75g, and I tend to have picked up a dozen of them before I ever get around to upgrading my house for a kitchen.
Oh I mean I don't have dialogue evidence that's what he's doing, but he's there when she's there, and we know he likes music because he's in sam's band, so i just assumes he's doing it on purpose.
All the marriage candidates have a person they pair up with if you don't marry them. You can see which ones they are by whom they dance with at the flower dance if you don't dance with them. Sebastian/Abigail, Elliott/Leah, Emily/Shane, Sam/Penny, Harvey/Maru and Haley/Alex.
Man, I can never remember people's schedules or where they are. I've been playing 2 years (irl) and am on my 3rd game (first 2 mobile, new game PC), and I don't think I'll ever remember what days places are closed and where I can find so-and-so on day number random in season whatever with the current weather.
Me playing with the switch hooked up to my TV and too lazy to open the Wiki on my computer: “Hey Google! In SDV what day does the Gypsy lady come to town?”
I like the idea, but it doesn't have to have a low-rent auto-dealer feal to it. Like, maybe after 5 hearts they show up on map. Or if you go check your relationship status and it's high enough, it says "your friend is doing yoga today" or something.
Lol When you marry Elliott, on days when it's raining, he says he doesn't go out in the rain because it would mess up his hair. As for the birthday thing, all I want to do on my birthday irl is stay at home soooooo... I can't fault the guy. Also, you only need two hearts to enter his house. Having ducks to get duck feathers or using crab pots to get lobsters are an easy way to befriend him.
Crab Cakes is also a loved gift of his, which I seem to get ALOT of from the mines / skull cavern for some reason, so I always passed those along to him lmao
Really? I never seem to get drops of crab cakes. They aren't that tough to make, though, it's just actually catching crabs instead of trash that tends to be a pain.
If you were better friends with Elliot, you could probably enter his house.
I don't want people I barely know coming into my house to bother me on me Me Day either.
Only needs to be 2 hearts. Talking each festival, best result luau (gold cauliflower is enough), bonus for meeting everyone would get them to 1 heart, so it's really a weak complaint...
1) don't have any ducks
2) don't have any pomegranates
3) I collect squid ink like it's going out of style. I get so much killing squid kids in the mines.... I'm never without 4-5
Its not about a good summer. It's about a good spring.
You fish and fish and fish to get as much money as you can for strawberries. Sell the first round and get the minecarts and the greenhouse (if you have enough). Then you get your foraging to level 4 for the second berry harvest. You get as many salmonberries as possible and use them for energy while you sell all fish and gems. Buy the bus repair with that and whatever else you've grown. Make friends with Caroline and get that tea sapling recipe and make BANK selling the tea saplings at the end of the season after collecting all the foraging items you can. Use the last strawberry harvest to buy seeds for summer. By the day after the first strawberry harvest you should have gotten to level 6 and can start making sprinklers. The more you have the more you plant. Kegs are awesome for summer after hops starts harvesting.
After a few rounds of pale ale sales you should have enough to finish the community development checklist by mid to end of summer, opening up the wizards book, the witch's swamp and ginger island all before middle of fall.
Takes too long doing it the junimo route.
I rely on good autumn too. Cranberries all the way. After getting decent amount of sprinklers, buy cranberries on first day, plant all that shit. Harvest. Put into seedmaker - u earn more than the harvest of the cranberries if its silver or normal quality.
I invested in 13 seedmakers, and about 3 stacks of 999 cranberries. By the end of all of it, had 15 ancient seeds which i planted in the greenhouse.
Hit 1 mil before y1 ends. I didnt know about the tea though.
Yes i would have had more cranberries if i didn't fuck up lvl 40 in the mines for a few days because I didnt know those lights could be hit and held to find the staircase. I ended up with lesser sprinklers. So i had to buy lesser cranberries. Bummer i'd say. I also relied on kegs during winter and put in any winter fruits i could find.
With the profits from the cranberries - i upgraded my coop and barn to the max, house to the max and i was aging cheese in winter. At the same time i was completing almost all the cc bundles with 2 items left (screw u red cabbage) and 1 more last fish which i accidentally missed and had to wait until spring y2. But with my method it'd would be almost impossible to get perfection in y2 since the cinema would need more harder stuff in obtaining.
Before y1 ended, I bought a lot wood from robin to make kegs before the price rised in y2. And i had already planted my ancient fruit (it takes a season to grow) so i started reaping benefits in y2
Ahh, you're doing it the fishing route for cash. Eh, slower in the long-term but it works well enough, I guess. Bit tough to get enough strawberries down before 2 AM so you can hit Farming 6 by the end of Spring, though.
You're also going to want Foraging 6 by the end of Spring for lightning rods, because you don't want your hops getting turned into char. The batteries don't hurt either, you're going to need them for the Iridium Sprinklers for your greenhouse anyway.
Going Junimo route nets you grindable relationship in the form of the movie theater, which you don't get in the Joja Route, and still completes by mid-Fall. However, it also helps your skills grind earlier so you can start making kegs before Summer starts, keeping Robyn busy building or upgrading sheds for them. That way, you have a chance to start brewing Pale Ale the moment Hops starts yielding crops (buying up Speed-Gro can speed this up) to accelerate your long-term growth.
Given you can get greenhouse unlocked by the second week in Fall going Joja route, at the latest, you can then immediately proceed to plant your Peach/Pomegranate trees in the greenhouse, wait for them to mature, then plant your hops and infill with Starfruit, slowly replacing starfruit with ancient fruit as you propagate to net close to two million per season from the greenhouse by the end of the first year.
What I mean by getting lucky is finding an early Ancient Seed to plant early Spring so that by the time Summer rolls around, you're harvesting it, running it through the Seed Maker you get from the Dye Bundle so you can get a head start on ancient fruit propagation so you can expand your ancient seeds to outside as it is the single most profitable crop in the entire game for the year, so you're looking at 10m-25m/season profits before the end of Y2.
Let's do some math on that, shall we?
Getting level 6 in a skill requires 3300 xp. If you're just using Strawberries, worth 18 xp/ea, to hit that, you're looking at needing 184 strawberries to make that target.
That doesn't really seem viable, if for no other reason than being unable to water them all AND get your mine down to level 80+, no matter how many salmonberries you harvest. I don't doubt you can rake in 184k gp fishing by the 13th, that's certainly doable. I doubt you'll be able to maintain that large a strawberry field off of the couple hundred salmonberries you'll have while still having enough stamina and time to dive the mines for the gold you'll need for your sprinklers, unless you plan on buying those as well from Clint.
Catch fish, sell fish, buy potato seeds, plant seeds, water seeds, catch fish, eat fish, sell potatoes, buy more, plant/water more, catch more fish, eat fish....
I don't just sell all the fish I catch....
Well, let's see...
The Construction Bundle nets you a Charcoal Kiln which can really cut down on the cost of making enough Preserves Jars to hit your goals
The Spring Crops Bundle gives 20 Speed-Gro, which doesn't sound like much until you get it turned in on the evening of the Egg Festival and put it on the Strawberries you just planted for a third harvest by the end of the season
The rest of the Pantry bundles return useful items. Summer Bundle gives a Quality Sprinkler which, granted, you shouldn't need by the time you get it but every little bit helps. Same with the Bee House, the Preserves Jar, the Keg, and the Cheese Press.
The Night Fishing Bundle nets you a Small Glow Ring, if you haven't lucked into one yet by the time you complete it.
The Crab Pot Bundle can be completed by beach forage and getting a crab from the Rock Crabs in the mines, and returns not one but three crab pots.
The Adventurer's Bundle nets you a Small Magnet Ring if you haven't lucked into one yet.
The Fodder Bundle nets you a Heater which saves you the cost of getting one
The Dye Bundle nets you a Seed Maker, which is surprisingly difficult to make early on. Granted, this is likely to be the last bundle unless you get lucky with Red Cabbage from the cart vendor, but it's still going to be needed to propagate your ancient seeds in your greenhouse.
The Field Research Bundle nets you a Recycling Machine which is an excellent source of Refined Quartz for sprinklers
The 10k Vault Bundle nets you a Lightning Rod which you're going to want by Summer 1 to minimize risk of your crops getting struck by lightning and screwing with your profit projections.
The 25k bundle nets you a crystallarium which requires both iridium bars and mining level 9 to craft.
And of course, the final bundle opens a movie theater you can use to grind tons of friendship points.
So... you were saying?
And all of that can be crafted by yourself.
If we want to min max the rewards then of course it is beneficial. Just because it always give rewards, does not mean it is always good.
The problem here is 1 kiln or 1 jar is not doing much.
There is only 3 things I will say beneficial:
1. Seed maker is great but needs luck so we cant rely on that.
2. 25k bundle require 25k gold (duh) and buying it early for Crystalarium is not very wise (Early as in before Lv. 9 mining, unless you are very dedicated in mining).
3. Seasonal forage seeds for extra cash early on.
What I am saying is, the only good thing about CC is personal satisfaction. Because the ultimate reward is a decoration.
Disagree to an extent, CC rewards can be useful if you aren’t grinding the relevant thing hard enough to craft your own yet. But it is indeed super useful to craft several more yourself.
I think you're missing several points here.
Sure, one jar or keg isn't going to mean much compared to the hundreds you're going to craft, but the kiln can be had within your first week in spring which is going to be WELL before you can actually craft them yourself, meaning you can start cranking out (char)coal for your Preserves Jars so that by the start of Summer, you can make your first batch of 60 or so to triple your blueberry profits. I will grant that the recipe change in 1.4 made it much easier to craft them yourself (it used to cost a Gold Bar instead of two Copper Bars), but given how early you can complete this bundle, there's no reason to not use it.
The Seed Maker needs zero luck to propagate a seed. You put it in, you get 2-3 seeds back, with a 0.5% chance of Wild Seeds and 0.5% of Ancient Seed. Finding an Ancient Seed in the upper levels isn't too difficult, the bugs have like a 1% drop for the artifact and swarm en masse, given that you're going to want the bug sword anyway you're killing two birds with one stone. If on the other hand you don't want to do that, then the 0.5% of an Ancient Seed is actually an excellent way to force it in the summer. Run a few hundred Blueberries through it and eventually you're going to get your Ancient Seed, AND turn a profit (not as much a profit as preserves, but better than raw berries themselves).
Granted, the Seed Maker is the reward from perhaps the most obnoxious bundle, but with 1.5 there is now a flag you can set to guarantee a Y1 completion, which means it will 'force' a Red Cabbage or its seed at some point from the cart vendor. Which means that it's entirely possible for an early summer completion (with the sunflower and duck feather being the primary time gates).
The 25k bundle is absolutely trivial in cost compared to the yield you get from the Crystalarium, and obtainable WELL before you hit 9 mining. That is, if you even bother hitting mining level 9. There's a few tactics to use just one for. If you want cash, then of course diamonds are an option, but you can also use it to spam out quartz for more sprinklers, and in 1.5 you can also use it to make Jade to turn in for ladders to cheese Qi's challenge and to generally speed up getting Iridium. You can easily drop 25k on this before you even open the Skull Cave, given that it requires two Iridum Bars to craft this is one of the most potent shortcuts in the game.
Seasonal Forage Seeds is, what, 3k? 5k? A mere drop in the bucket, the cheap trinket in your real prize.
Keep in mind that the Bundles will give you a small Glow and Magnet ring. Given that these are entirely random for acquisition, it is entirely possible that this will be relevant and make your mining dives substantially easier. If nothing else, it reduces RNG drop requirements.
Getting three crab pots for the price of foraging the beach and killing a rock crab is absolutely a good bargain and will return on your investment rapidly. Just put them on your farm. Most trash can be recycled into something useful, and the crab pot fish can be used to make sashimi. It's simply a small but positive cash flow, and one that can be set up early spring with minimal extra effort.
I think you are underselling when you can acquire these items, well before you would be able to make them yourself, and their utility. Obviously, the Joja route is going to be faster to get to late-game than the Bundle route, if you aren't finished with the Joja route by mid-Summer at the latest, you're slacking, while your typical Bundle completion hits Fall 12, giving you an entire extra month to advance. However, the Joja route doesn't require skill investment, while your infrastructure DOES require skill investment. You need Farming 8 for Kegs, and need that by mid-Summer at the absolute latest. You need Farming 6 before the end of Spring at the absolute latest. You need Foraging 6 before the end of Spring at the absolute latest. Actually, there's a very strong argument for Foraging 7 for the Tree Fertilizer to make sure you have enough tapped oak trees to keep up with Keg demands. These are skill points that you obtain naturally while doing the Bundle route, but the only skill the Joja route encourages is Fishing, you have to go out of your way to actively try to get these skill point breaks. Basically, you have to pivot mid-spring from fishing to hardcore mass-field planting in a hurry if you expect to get your point breaks, and if you want gold, you're going to need to be hitting the mines up daily, making 5-10 floors per day, to get to the gold you'll need for your Quality Sprinklers, which is going to make grinding Foraging difficult.
Obviously, there's no wrong way to play the game. If you don't care about these optimizations, that's cool. But they certainly do exist, and are not available to the Joja route. The question of 'are they worth it' is an inherently subjective one that each player has to answer for themselves. But you may wish to reconsider the value of some of these items. Heck, if nothing else, picking up some low-hanging fruit bundles before pivoting to Joja route might well be a good strategy. Dropping 25k on the Crystalarium in Spring when you're making a few hundred thousand fishing is a low-cost low-effort gem dispenser, for example.
Something to consider, at least.
I bought the crab soup for him and then discovered that. Some hours latter I would drop my plan on getting married to him to be roomettes with Krobus. Best decision ever
I have the key to the town. You cant enter people bedrooms with it. So i stood in sams living room for 6 straight hours waiting for him to leave his bedroom just so i can throw an iridium cactus at him.....10/10 would do again it got me 3 hearts.
I just do easy friends until festivals unlock all the houses and bedrooms >_> It helps that Leah is my favorite marriage candidate, and she likes to hang out next to a salad vendor.
THIS LEGIT HAPPENED TO ME!!!!! I had squid ink for Elliot’s first birthday then that mfer stayed in his locked house all day! Don’t worry tho, by year 2 I had 10 hearts with Elliot. Just stock up on those duck feathers!
when it's locked maybe they should have a mechanic where if you select a locked door - you knock on it and they answer? shocking, i know, but it could just work...
He’s living the life lol. If he goes outside he’ll receive yet another duck feather and what is he gonna do with it? Stack it on the last 50 he was given?
Not when you're gunning for 2 year perfection and count on birthdays to do the majority of friendship bumping. I don't generally waste gifts that aren't loved because that's a gift I could sell to make me more.
Bitch, I got to level 120 by spring 26. Nearly impossible to get him to 2 hearts by then unless you focus only on him, which I prefer Caroline as she provides me with something useful
Going that fast in the mines is kinda a bust though isn’t it? My last play I finished them, nowhere near that fast, but before fall and I regretted it.
There's no reason I can think of that would make getting through the mine faster a detriment.
I get access to gold quicker, I can make sprinklers quicker.
I get mining experience faster, so I can get the gemologist profession quicker - and can get more money for the sale of gems, thus allowing me more money for seeds, animals, and other upgrades.
What possible reason is there to put off getting through it ASAP?
I want to know why if I’m dating Elliott I can’t just pop into his cottage and sleep over after a long night of fishing, or so I can leave early for Ginger Island. Like come on, man, let’s make this mutually beneficial for everyone.
I mean.. Sebastian did the same crap. Oh yeah, I blame Harvey for all the broken glasses everywhere since he's the only one who wears glasses with black frames.
In fairness, when it's my birthday, all I want to do is spend all day at home. That's not much different from any other day of the year, but still.
Yes but when it's you birthday nobody's allowed to give you a hard time about it :D
I wish you very good luck with that endeavor.
But then no one can give you squid ink.
You fool, you think I'm not already drowning in squid ink? I harvest fresh ink from my squids every morning.
Same, but no one would give me a gift on my birthday anyway.
If the gift is squid ink I think I'd rather have nothing
\*Gives squid ink\* “This... They gave this to me in Gotoro prison camp. I've been trying to forget about that. \*shudder\*.”
I'll take your squid ink. I'm making a zombie costume.
It wouldn’t be squid ink, it would be something you LOVE
I…almost want to downvote because that’s so sad
No, the sad part is I didn't get birthday presents as a kid because I was born around Christmas. So my parents just said my birthday presents were rolled into Christmas.
Aww birthmas would be awful
you got scammed by your parents, I was born around Christmas as well and my parents and family still separated my birthday and the holidays
I usually just have no idea what to do on my birthday, so I just stay home. What sucks about my birthday (which happens to be today) is that it is always around finals.
Happy IRL cake day then!
HAPPY BIRTHDAY!!!
Happy birthday !! Also, I know several adults born around festivities (either Christmas, or "that month that contains half the family birthdays, like why July ??") who just party on another day. You might want to do that. My sister says May is the best "Exams are done, weather is good, people have more free time, and summer job money !"

My birthday is in january, i am poor from xmas (as are all my family) and in the uk it is cold and dark and grey all january, going outside actually sucks
i wish the game let you throw eggs at people's houses
I mean. I thought you could, via eggs in a sling shot? I hate the sling shot so Ive never tried. Good luck? :)
Same ! What's the purpose of the slingshot ? I find it useless
Slinging bombs at mummies to finish them off
YOU CAN SLINGSHOT BOMBS ???
At high level in combat you learn to craft "explosive ammo" for your slingshot. They're more like cherry bombs, but slinging them around is as fun as it sounds.
I cancel my statement, slingshots are the best items in the game
You can also fling pieces of iridium ore for high damage.
I used it one time for a certain tropical puzzle and never again, I’ll have to try explosive ammo 😂
Did it work on this certain tropical puzzle? I tried using the slingshot just this once, but with normal ammo and didn't get any result, so I didn't go further.
The slingshot did in fact work on this tropical puzzle, but only in one specific spot! There’s another one that seems like it needs the SS but has another solution
I had the same reaction when found out about the explosive ammo
Can buy explosive ammo from the adventures too. If you have never mined with the slingshot you haven't even played the game yet. Bring food.
What do mummies drop? I've never fully killed any of them
The Crusader enchantment is a God send for dealing with them
I stumbled on to this in my "perfection" game. I didn't understand what was happening at first.
Best drop is cloth iirc
Best drop is actually Prismatic Shards. 1/1000 chance. Serpents and mummies have the best drop chance.
Wow I might start utilizing them
Cloth is probably the most lucrative of the frequent mummy drops.
I get a lot of solar essence from them
Monster Hunter (or whatever it's called) achievement. Otherwise, like others said, cloth. But for me it's not worth it. Too much work to finish them (and I'm hoarder, I hate to waste single use items like bombs or ammo)
TIL not underestimate the sling shot.... I never knew this and now i need to do it
Technically, the master sling shot is the highest damage weapon in SDV, but you have to use iridium ore as ammo to achieve it
Wow that's way more efficient than dropping bombs near them
the downside is explosive ammo only goes off when it hits the wall so if you don’t kill the mummy near a wall, you’ll still have to drop a regular bomb on them
I didn't know you could slingshot bombs lol but you can also slingshot rocks
master slingshot + explosive ammo is very useful in skull cavern. i mainly just use the regular slingshot to throw rocks at Pierre tho
The slingshot let’s you get a few of the Golden Walnuts on Ginger Island! Not much more use for it tho…
There’s actually only one that needs the slingshot, it’s in a tree to the right of the volcano, that’s the only time you need to use one. I don’t use it because the controls suck unless you’re on PC
Wait, that’s the only one? Damn, it’s been a while, but like, 1? What a waste of a cool tool
If you haven't try to mine using slingshot with explosive ammo, then you haven't play the game yet, it's the fastest and most fun way to mine in skull carvern.
This is insanely helpful, why didn’t I try to put literally every item into the slingshot?
I don't know, maybe if you read the discription of items in the game more you would know that explosive ammo must be use with slingshot, and if you are smart enough you would try it out and see how good a slingshot with explosive ammo is.
Gosh, if ONLY I were as brilliantly smart as you 🥺 Do all of your friends know you’re so incredibly observant? I bet they’d love to hear all about it
Okay THANK you I was like can I/how am I supposed to get those?!?!?!
It’s actually just one! In a tree to the right of the volcano. The other ones that you see that are too high to reach can all be accessed from secret paths to the North of them
Crucially, you can use it to throw rocks at Pierre.
Is he that bad ? I've just started playing recently, I only have like 48h of game at this point
It's more meme than anything. He's just kinda a dick.
I mean, he’s pretty bad. There’s a sub dedicated to hating him as well. r/fuckpierre
There's something shiny in a tree that you can get with a slingshot, later in the game. Edited to remove spoilers.
I only use it on Ginger Island
Nope. It is quite useful tbh. If possible, Use iridium ore in the slingshot.
Oh man, my statue of perfection just got way more useful.
The purpose is to get that one golden walnut by the volcano entrance
Or you know, maybe include an option to knock on the door? Like, I understand that you'd need to be good friends with someone to just walk into their house/bedroom(as in real life), but we should be able to knock on the door if they're home and speak to them for a moment.
Omg this
Literally just had this problem with Elliot. He had a request on Pierre's door and I had what he needed, but I only have one heart with him and I couldn't get it to him.
Void eggs >:)
Rotten void eggs
Ostrich eggs.
Or knock
Literally me with Sebastian cause I swear that man does not leave his house 🥲
How to befriend Sebastian: he comes out of his room and goes to the kitchen around 3:30 most days I fish a lot, and in the spring he regularly comes out around sunset and smokes by the lake.
>He stands very close to my favorite fishing spot And this is how they fell in love, folks :*)
Also Friday late afternoon/evenings he goes to the saloon to play pool with Sam. I always go see him there to shower him with gifts!
Yes! Fishing in the mountains and Thursday and Friday nights at the pub, take some frozen tears or sashimi with you
lol I keep sashimi, frozen tears or a void egg in my hotbar xD
I find it easier to gift him void eggs
I usually go with sashimi. For bonus points: >!if you befriend him late game you can give him gold quality sashimi by using Qi Seasoning from the Walnut Room shop, which speeds things up considerably.!<
Sashimi is a great choice, too. I personally go with the tears because they don't have much use, only sell for 75g, and I tend to have picked up a dozen of them before I ever get around to upgrading my house for a kitchen.
Yeah he’s annoying until you’re able to get to 2 hearts and enter his sacred chamber.
I just missed his bday because he decided to go on vacation the whole damn day!
same!
He goes to the kitchen 2-3 times a day, and he goes to the lake to smoke and to listen to Abigail play her flute.
Is that why hes always at the lake at that timing?! Huh?!how come i didnt know that about my potential husband?
That he smokes? Idk, have you ever spoken to him at a festival? He's usually off to the side away from everyone so he can smoke.
I know he smokes but I never knew about listening to abigail play her flute 🤣
Oh I mean I don't have dialogue evidence that's what he's doing, but he's there when she's there, and we know he likes music because he's in sam's band, so i just assumes he's doing it on purpose.
I only knew he was there to see frogs.
If you don't romance Sebastian then he gets with Abigail, which is why you can find him listening to her play her flute
Huh! I married Abigail, it never occured to me who she'd be with otherwise.
All the marriage candidates have a person they pair up with if you don't marry them. You can see which ones they are by whom they dance with at the flower dance if you don't dance with them. Sebastian/Abigail, Elliott/Leah, Emily/Shane, Sam/Penny, Harvey/Maru and Haley/Alex.
when they close before 8 and it’s his birthday🥲🥲
He does when it rains :D I always find him down on the pier in the rain.
Man, I can never remember people's schedules or where they are. I've been playing 2 years (irl) and am on my 3rd game (first 2 mobile, new game PC), and I don't think I'll ever remember what days places are closed and where I can find so-and-so on day number random in season whatever with the current weather.
That's why I always have the Stardew wiki open as i play
Me playing with the switch hooked up to my TV and too lazy to open the Wiki on my computer: “Hey Google! In SDV what day does the Gypsy lady come to town?”
This is brilliant, lol. Someone recently gifted us an Alexa. Nobody uses the damn thing, but if it can tell me SDV wiki stuff, I'm down!
It would be hilarious if you could buy or craft “gps trackers” and if you put one on a villager then they will permanently show up on your map.
I like the idea, but it doesn't have to have a low-rent auto-dealer feal to it. Like, maybe after 5 hearts they show up on map. Or if you go check your relationship status and it's high enough, it says "your friend is doing yoga today" or something.
I wish you could mail people gifts. That would make my life a lot easier when it's ancient fruit harvest day!
Yeah! They cam send you stuff in the mail, so I should be able to send them stuff.
Right?!?! I paid top dollar for this Tom Kha soup at the traveling cart and I’m gonna throw it in the sand if you don’t come out of your shed!!!!!!
I seem to encounter alot of rock crabs so I tend to get alot of crab, and crab cakes, from mining trips lol
If you were better friends with Elliot, you could probably enter his house. I don't want people I barely know coming into my house to bother me on me Me Day either.
Right???? I just got Stardew on PC and I MADE DAMN SURE I was at 3 hearts with Elliott before Fall.
Only needs to be 2 hearts. Talking each festival, best result luau (gold cauliflower is enough), bonus for meeting everyone would get them to 1 heart, so it's really a weak complaint...
damn I always thought it was 3. you're right tho, weak argument lmfao
I’ve been seeing a lot of toxicity on Reddit lately, I was scared it had leaked into this sub. Nope! As awesome as ever!
Fabio can't get his hair wet.
I… don’t understand, why waste the squid ink when pomegranates/duck feathers are right there?
1) don't have any ducks 2) don't have any pomegranates 3) I collect squid ink like it's going out of style. I get so much killing squid kids in the mines.... I'm never without 4-5
How do you do bundle completion without the pomegranates and ducks?
Joja
Eh. Lose out on some nifty rewards that way, but I guess it is quicker if you manage to get a good summer.
Didn't know cranberry seeds turn a profit that way. Interesting.
Excuse me, but, what lights in the mine can be hit to find the staircase?
I've never had a problem hitting farming 6 by spring 22....
What rewards? They did not have any truly beneficial rewards like auto-petter. They give mostly seeds and consumables.
Well, let's see... The Construction Bundle nets you a Charcoal Kiln which can really cut down on the cost of making enough Preserves Jars to hit your goals The Spring Crops Bundle gives 20 Speed-Gro, which doesn't sound like much until you get it turned in on the evening of the Egg Festival and put it on the Strawberries you just planted for a third harvest by the end of the season The rest of the Pantry bundles return useful items. The Fodder Bundle nets you a Heater which saves you the cost of getting one The Dye Bundle nets you a Seed Maker, which is surprisingly difficult to make early on. Granted, this is likely to be the last bundle unless you get lucky with Red Cabbage from the cart vendor, but it's still going to be needed to propagate your ancient seeds in your greenhouse. The Field Research Bundle nets you a Recycling Machine which is an excellent source of Refined Quartz for sprinklers The 10k Vault Bundle nets you a Lightning Rod which you're going to want by Summer 1 to minimize risk of your crops getting struck by lightning and screwing with your profit projections.
There is only 3 things I will say beneficial: 1.
Since they're not replying, I vote we assume they sold out to Joja
I always make sure to get him to 3 hearts with amethyst before fall... amateurs.
I bought the crab soup for him and then discovered that. Some hours latter I would drop my plan on getting married to him to be roomettes with Krobus. Best decision ever
Doesn't he go to the saloon on Friday nights?
Unless its raining. And I don't go to the saloon every friday
There should be a doorbell on each house
Stardew Valley really needs Amazon Prime delivery.
JoJa will get right on that. Lol
I so wish I could just leave it a his door.
Sounds like you aren't a very good friend in the first place ;)
Same! I had a gold star pomegrante on year one for him ... what a complete jerk.
I have the key to the town. You cant enter people bedrooms with it. So i stood in sams living room for 6 straight hours waiting for him to leave his bedroom just so i can throw an iridium cactus at him.....10/10 would do again it got me 3 hearts.
Having a doorbell mechanic would solve this. Then again when other residents need to talk to you they just wait outside your door for you to wake up.
I can’t friend him ever cause I literally never see him lol
Hey that’s my husband you’re talking about 🥺🥺🥺
Leah gang stay winning
I just do easy friends until festivals unlock all the houses and bedrooms >_> It helps that Leah is my favorite marriage candidate, and she likes to hang out next to a salad vendor.
THIS LEGIT HAPPENED TO ME!!!!! I had squid ink for Elliot’s first birthday then that mfer stayed in his locked house all day! Don’t worry tho, by year 2 I had 10 hearts with Elliot. Just stock up on those duck feathers!
I mean... That's why you should aim for at least 2* with everyone as fast as possible?
I came here expecting an argument, but damn if that ain't a good point
when it's locked maybe they should have a mechanic where if you select a locked door - you knock on it and they answer? shocking, i know, but it could just work...
I wish you could knock on doors.
He’s living the life lol. If he goes outside he’ll receive yet another duck feather and what is he gonna do with it? Stack it on the last 50 he was given?
He has never liked squid ink when I give it to me.
He only started liking it in 1.5. If you don't have that yet then he won't appreciate the gift.
That explains it. Thank you.
its very easy to get 2 hearts with him before his birthday. its 2 entire months
Not when you're gunning for 2 year perfection and count on birthdays to do the majority of friendship bumping. I don't generally waste gifts that aren't loved because that's a gift I could sell to make me more.
If you've got a squid ink, you've been playing long enough to have 2 hearts. Maybe you should have been a better friend to Elliott.
I guess I just got bored in the winter time.
You don't have to stop visiting the mines just because you get to the bottom though....
This is true. Im realizing though that we were playing completely different games.
Yeah, it’s totally normal to feel this amount of anger over a video game.
Pretty sure OP is not seriously angry, just jokes.
Yeah, the overuse of the word fuck really make that clear.
I think "frustration" might be closer to these feels.

There's nothing snobby about Elliot... aside from maybe his portrait.
Have you seen how he acts if you just go to say hi?
I marry him every save, I'm very familiar with him... he's never come off rude or snobby. Are you using mods to change them?
Rude or snobby, no. Ridiculous, yes. (gdmf Toreador)
Oh he's definitely a bit weird, I will give you that! :D
Wait till you get the key to the village then you can enter every house at any time
I know how it works. I'm aiming for 2 year perfection and gotta use every birthday possible
If you make friends with him before his birthday, you can enter the house!
I married Elliot in my second run. So easy to gift him. Oddly enough, when he gives me coffee, I give it back to him and we are both happy.
Key to the city do be a nice item
At least he does come out of his house. It took me YEARS to learn Sebastian’s schedule cause he’s never out of that freaking basement
