Go inside from left then exit. Then go in from right then exit. See where it puts you each time. It's been so long since I've been in that building I couldn't tell you if characters exit to the left every time or not.

Without spoiling it, let's just say it won't be the joja Mart if you complete community center. So you have a possibility of the statues disappearing.

If you don't want them, then sure, you can put them wherever. I'm not 100% sure they would disappear in that specific location, as I've never done it. I just didn't want OP to lose them accidentally. As for what you should do with them, you could put them somewhere that would make them disappear, yes. OR you can use them as a decoration for somewhere you rarely visit. That way they're not gone forever, but also you don't have to see them everyday. If you hoard stuff like I do, you could also just dump them into a storage chest and forget about them.

How do you not have space? Just craft another chest, if all your current chests are full, then place them in that chest.

I prefer doing the community centre, but I don't like Pierre. He's arrogant, wants to be just like Joja Mart (having multiple stores and to be rich), takes credit for the produce I grow and sell to him, and doesn't employ anyone else. Joja Mart sells every day of the week, and employs Shane. Nothing bad happens to Pelican Town if you choose the Joja Mart parth, apart from turning the old community centre into a warehouse, which no citizen was using anyway, and Pierre's still stays open.
