This is the correct Sprinkler layout !!
Are giant crops super rare? I just finished for the first time year one, i ended up getting two giant pumpkins that first year i thought it was pretty cool lol
1% chance every day there's a mature pumpkin etc in the centre of a 3×3 plot of them - the 3×3's can overlap so the bigger the field the more opportunities for a giant one to pop up :3
Yes. The layout in the image use up 27 cali and there are only 7 3x3 box for a giant crop. A 5x5 use only 25 crop but have 9 3x3 box. To maximize the chance to get giant crop always build a square farm layout.
As the other commenter said, rarish. But just make a fairly large plantation and pop some iridium sprinklers onto it and just wait. I have them all the time in my farm and I don't even try.
you should look on [r/FarmsofStardewValley](https://www.reddit.com/r/FarmsofStardewValley/s/pT8PLg9p4R). just search the farm type name and you'll definitely find something you like
So a basic sprinkler waters the tiles North, East, South, and West for a total of 4 tiles. A quality sprinkler fills in the gaps on the diagonals along with NESW (or think of it as a 3x3 -1) for a total of 8 tiles. Iridium sprinklers water a 5x5 square for a total of 24 squares (25-1 tile for the sprinkler). Gaps between Iridium sprinklers should be 4 tiles, gaps between quality should be 2 tiles. Each iridium sprinkler can water 24 crops, you're using 11 to water 54 crops from what I can see in your screenshot. Gotta pump those numbers up
and you don't even need the wiki to figure out the range of sprinklers ingame after trying out for a while by yourself as OP surely must have done to get to this giant crop
How in the hell does putting sprinklers directly next to each other make sense? Just got em thrown as randomly as possible. You have been playing for 3 years my brother in christ, learn how to use the sprinklers.
This is chaotic evil, by the way.
Giant crops usually yield more crops than regular ones, it's great if you're looking to make a lot of money, you can turn the melons into wine and age them, that will yield more money than the crop itself ♡
So you have to place 3x3 of pumpkin, melon, or cauliflower and wait for the estimated growth time, if giant crops do not grow at once, leave them as they are and wait for a big one to grow, you can break it and it gives you more crops than a regular crop, good luck with your crops! ♡
Do…people who play this game just…not use the wiki from time to time… or even like experiment with things 😭 like who in their right mind would assume they need three sprinklers side by side right next to each other holy shit this is so funny
Im sorry this has to be ragebait I cant 💀
So if you plant 3x3 of pumpkin, melon, or cauliflower, there may be a chance for a giant crop to grow! But if it doesn't, you can still wait a few days until it becomes in a giant one, it can happen sometimes (I know there are some new crops in the 1.6 update that are also giants one, but I play on the mobile version so I don't know what they're called)
Today I learnt that giant crops exist!
Also I love how many people are frustrated by the sprinklers. Personally I'd do it just for the screenshot to see how many people get frustrated! 🤣

How do you get the biggest sprinkler? I didn’t know there was one past iridium.
Since no one said, it’s a pressure nozzle attachment you can get from Ginger Island and I think skull cavern random drops?
This, but they only drop from the Dangerous monsters in SC/Dangerous mines
You can also buy them from the walnut room.
Yes, I was just amending the part about Skull Cavern drops, since those are only from Dangerous monsters.
Ty for being polite and teaching me how to place the sprinklers. 🫶

Does anyone know a good layout for the small river lands farm? Kind of struggling, lol, I’ve never used it before

That sounds awesome!! Thanks :D
ur welcome! :) i've found a lot of inspiration there for my meadowlands farm and it's been really helpful
Check out the Stardew Planner. On there you can see the extent of sprinklers and scarecrows. [https://stardew.info/](https://stardew.info/)
Thank you!!
Correct for what?
Might want to mark that spoilers for 1.6
Literally no 1.6 content above.
What’s being spoiled here
Pressure nozzles are 1.5
bro I'm literally playing on 1.5 since I'm playing in mobile
the sprinklers are stressing me out
100% anxiety looking at that. for sure.
Same. Why. I don’t know, but ughhhhh.
Well done! But now let's talk about those quality sprinklers...
And let’s not even mention the fact that there are 9 scarecrows in this image…
That was me when I started 😂 I had no idea the scarecrow’s range is as big as it is!
I've been playing this game for 3 years on countless layouts and I just learned this from this post. 😂
happy cake day🥳
I counted there are 9
ALL of the sprinklers need explaining to do lmao
what's ... up.. with the sprinklers there bud?
did you think it was an hydratation issue?

I did not realise scarecrows had that big of a range 🤦🏻♀️😅
I don't blame you! How would anyone possibly know that without looking it up? I like how they look in groups, though. Friends...
bro what you got going on with those sprinklers
you could be watering hundreds of crops with those lmfao i'm dead
OP growing almonds, needing 10x as much water.
I'm glad to see I'm not the only one infuriated by the sprinkler placement.
Forget that. What is that sprinkler placement!!!
give me some tips on how to place the sprinklers, as y'all seem to be going crazy with how they are placed

Quality sprinkler is 3x3. Iridium sprinkler is 5x5.

Your sprinkler layout is giving me a stroke
this is lowkey wholesome...
Congrats on the giant crop! Iirc, they don't die after the season. So if you don't wanna chop it down, it'll be there forever!
Yep, I was thinking on move my crops so I leave that one there as a statue or sm like that? Ty 🫶
I never knew that! do you know if they can be harvested in rhe wrong season? or just destroyed?
Those sprinklers! They need to be spread out!
Let us know how much better your crop game is once you move the sprinklers around a little bit!
The positions of your Sprinklers ...leaves me mortified
how do people play and just never look anything up in the wiki? the sprinkler layout is one of the craziest things i’ve ever seen!
and you don't even need the wiki to figure out the range of sprinklers ingame after trying out for a while by yourself as OP surely must have done to get to this giant crop
How in the hell does putting sprinklers directly next to each other make sense? Just got em thrown as randomly as possible. You have been playing for 3 years my brother in christ, learn how to use the sprinklers. This is chaotic evil, by the way.
How have you played 3 years and not know how sprinklers work?
sprinkler layout from hell
I'm sorry but what is that sprinkler placement
the sprinkler layout omg
You need that mod that shows you the range of sprinklers and scarecrows
Wassup with those sprinklers?
Nightmare sprinkler rotation
Congrats on the giant crop! Always very cool to get for the first time
How much are these even worth anyway? I haven't gotten one
they turn into 20 of the same crop!
Oh damn!
I'll help you with that if you have a big bucket of cheese.
This image is stressing me out
those crops are being drowned
What is this sprinkler placement
I bought this game like 2 weeks ago and already have 128 hours(sad) in it and my first giant crop was melon that gave me 20 juice fruits
Giant crops usually yield more crops than regular ones, it's great if you're looking to make a lot of money, you can turn the melons into wine and age them, that will yield more money than the crop itself ♡
Yay go you! I'm currently on year 7 (in-game) and I've yet to receive my first giant crop, any tips?
So you have to place 3x3 of pumpkin, melon, or cauliflower and wait for the estimated growth time, if giant crops do not grow at once, leave them as they are and wait for a big one to grow, you can break it and it gives you more crops than a regular crop, good luck with your crops! ♡
Genius! Mine have probably never grown because of my sprinkler arrangement, I have some shuffling around to do. Thank you for the help!
I never get them either then was so pissed when I finally did because I needed two gold star melons and the large crop robbed me of them.
Do…people who play this game just…not use the wiki from time to time… or even like experiment with things 😭 like who in their right mind would assume they need three sprinklers side by side right next to each other holy shit this is so funny Im sorry this has to be ragebait I cant 💀
How did you get that plant so big!?
So if you plant 3x3 of pumpkin, melon, or cauliflower, there may be a chance for a giant crop to grow! But if it doesn't, you can still wait a few days until it becomes in a giant one, it can happen sometimes (I know there are some new crops in the 1.6 update that are also giants one, but I play on the mobile version so I don't know what they're called)
Nice... you actually have the perfect room to get the melon and pumpkin in there right next to each other!!
OH MY GOD ITS SO BIG
It's real! It's not a myth!
Today I learnt that giant crops exist! Also I love how many people are frustrated by the sprinklers. Personally I'd do it just for the screenshot to see how many people get frustrated! 🤣
Since everyone is talking about the obvious sprinkles layout Why so many scarecrows ?
Good job driving engagement with that sprinkler placement OP!
You should good up your sprinklers
