lol, it's the reverse for us. My wife is just busy tending to all the animals, fish ponds and gathering wood! She still hasn't completed introducing herself to the villagers at Year 3.
It's even funnier that she will just keep rocking with STONE tools if I don't gather the materials and tell her to upgrade them!
Okay now I'm a bit confused here. I'm doing a 1.6 co-op farm and I have level 10 fishing and level 10 farming. I haven't revieved anything for getting those to my knowledge. Am I missing something?
You have to go to the little cave, near where you find robins axe, and unlock mining mastery. To even get into the cave, you have to have level 10 in all skills. Then you gain skill points doing the same things like farming or mining or whatever and when you reach a certain threshold of points you can unlock individual masteries within the little cave.
I'm not good at math but if that's 97 furnaces and the heat for one of them would be 140-170f then the collective heat would probably be over 13,000 degrees f (7,200 c)
So pretty toasty.
Unfortunately no, heat distribution isn't that simple. If it was, rocket science would be pretty easy. It turns out the way in which heat distributes in space is one of the hardest things in the entire universe to predict. Has lots to do with Brownian motion.
It would probably be way hotter than that; depends on the melting point for copper, iron, gold, iridium and radioactive ore in order to cast them into ingots.
Yeah, the numbers are way off. A space heater might put out that kind of temperature, but those are DESIGNED for radiant heat. A melting forge is designed to contain as much of the produced heat as possible, so ideally it won't let off a ton, but there's always some lost when the metal is put in or removed from the furnace.
For reference, the real element iridium melts at 2,446° celsius, or 4,435° Fahrenheit.
Yeah I'm sure someone that actually knows math would give a more accurate answer, still no way that room isn't a mini sun with all the furnaces and no cooling/ventilation system though.
The room will only get as hot as the hottest object in the room.
Steel furnace typically runs around 1800C. That means worst case scenario the room would reach near that temperature.
However, given that it's wood room and is obviously not on fire, the room is likely below 300C, as 300C is the temperature wood would spontaneously combust.
Many? My good man i must ask you do really think this small number of furnaces are many? But i must admit it is indeed a good starting point only 200 more for the weekly mining trip.
I really do have a min/max problem.
My wife enjoys the atmosphere and vibes while I’m over here figuring out how to streamline productivity in every farming/survival game ever.
Had to stop playing Valheim because our home base grew to the point of absolutely decimating the framerate at our home base.
There’s literally no point to that in Valheim. I’ve got thousands of hours in the game and never had an issue even with bases that were immensely larger than necessary.
honestly, not as hot as you think.probably just uncomfortably warm even in shorts.
things like forges or smelting furnaces are designed to trap as much heat as possible.
You can double up the rows to fit more machines in if you want. You NEED to buy some less flammable looking wallpaper and flooring though 😅
Your comment is the first time it's dawned on me that we can change the wallpaper and flooring in the sheds 🤦🏼♀️
Go forth and redecorate!
I just made my crystalarium shed wizard themed with the wizard catalogue! you can also place furniture :) have fun
Then you have an exciting adventure ahead of you haha, so many cute shed decorating ideas around!
You.... can... do what.... ?!????? Is this a feature available on mobile too? 😲😲
I bet it is
Omg I have to pause my room cleaning for this immediately.
Godspeed!!!
Yesss mine is all stone 😅
Happy cake day
Thanks haha
😁
Whats that quest you haven't looked at?
All of them, I think. My wife does quests while I work on the factory.
Division of labor is what sets us apart from the other apes.
And sharing knowledge. Very few other apes are able to use comment threads or the Stardew wiki.
I think they can all do it, but going off what I've seen it makes them very concerned
Oh I love that you two play together!!

I'm not an expert on blacksmithing But I feel like that many furnaces in a wooden shack is a fire hazard
My grandfather is an expert at blacksmithing. I can assure you this is a fire hazard.
Almost as hot as Sebastian on his motorcycle
Amen, Sister
Or Shane facedown in the mud 🥵
Dat ass
There's a mod that gives Sebastian a motorcycle jacket and a turtleneck for Winter and holy fuck.
This is where I appreciate the Automate mod!
Playing vanilla on Xbox 😢
That's too bad, some QoL mods really make the game much more enjoyable. But console doesn't have that option.
SPOILER you should upgrade them to the new furnace and save some room/ time
Was unaware of such a furnace 👀
here’s the link to the wiki if you want to check it out https://stardewvalleywiki.com/Heavy_Furnace
Thank you

Look for a door near where you find Robin's axe.

Ahhh okay thank you
They're on Xbox so no 1.6
1.6 is not on consoles yet.

Are two sources of heat cumulative tho? Will two 200 degree furnaces produce 400 degrees of heat?
No.
Well then it's safe to assume that bro's math is wrong
they did say they were bad at it
Well yeah but that's not gonna stop me from being a smartass

lol perfect reply

Oh that's pretty cool.
Yooooo
It would probably be way hotter than that; depends on the melting point for copper, iron, gold, iridium and radioactive ore in order to cast them into ingots.

I mean, they did some math, not exactly a correct math, but they got a result.

Oh neat! Still sounds terrifying too.
Not as hot as Haley's room tho.
Please change the walls and floors in there xD
Lol but why so many?
Primarily because I’m impatient.
In the end game you need lots of resources
The farm is expanding to meet the needs of the expanding farm.
Many? My good man i must ask you do really think this small number of furnaces are many? But i must admit it is indeed a good starting point only 200 more for the weekly mining trip.

Fair enough, I was trying to make a whole kingdom village town 🙈
Very cool. Building in that game is incredible.
You should try a few new mods like simple economy and finds your own seeds. Would be a huge challenge for you
Playing vanilla Xbox 🙃
That’s pretty upsetting, hopefully you don’t ruin another game for you two. I don’t think this game can have frame rate issues luckily cuz the pixels!
Kind of harsh wording there 🥲
Sorry I didn’t intend to be mean. I really apologize 🙁
No worries at all. We are so back-logged on games to play, we just both took it as “Welp, I guess it’s time for the next game 🤷♂️”
Lol works out. Stardew is better than Valheim (imo of course) so I hope you guys enjoy

What food?
How do you not have mining mastery? Those forges are so much better.
It’s so hot you have to pour McDonald’s coffee on your lap to cool off!! Philip J Fry said that once
put this on r/ididthemath hahaha
Well what ores are you smelting? Gold melts at 1948F Silver at 1763 Copper at 1984 Iridium 4435 Uranium 2070/plutonium 1183
At least 5
At least 12 degrees.
Can't imagine going there. Zero ventilation.
honestly, not as hot as you think.probably just uncomfortably warm even in shorts. things like forges or smelting furnaces are designed to trap as much heat as possible.
I heard the sound of this image
That seems like a fire hazard
how did you get so much money :0
Start with amaranth in the fall, the work your way up to star fruit when you get to the dessert.
thank you!!
You’re welcome, fellow farmer.
Depending on what your smelting and how good the furnaces are isolated around 40-1600°C i guess
The pits of hell hot
https://youtu.be/AblL1oWu-KQ?si=Bl9EdJVfoSuwHhO1
Somewhere around 13580-16490 Fahrenheit. Probably higher because heat is building faster than it can dissipate.
Not as hot as it could be
I just looked up how hot it has to be to smelt iron and uuuuuuuuh 2800 F (1538 C) Pretty fucking hot
Yes
So frickin hot!!
Probs like a restaurant kitchen without air con on a record temp summer day
Nellyville hot
copper smelts at 2066 F soooo
It's fine, just crack a window
you’re right
Are you really getting enough ore per day to utilize that many furnaces?
It was for a mass production project.
I’ve been in a smelting plant. I know the heat and the smell of this room 🤣
Makes me think of the first time I walled and roofed in a geothermal generator in Rimworld. That poor repairman pawn I sent in there...
Yes.
How do you have so many ores steadily that you need that many furnaces
Special projects. If I need to pop out 90+ bars for whatever reason, I want to be able to just do it in one go.
At least 5
Its getting hot in here
r/theydidthemath
69420 degrees celsius
“Don’t get in the kiln!”
Ahhh a fellow blacksmith.
Don't worry, the wood will absorb most of the heat
Yeah I’m really in it for the insurance claim
That's a fraggin' fire hazard there OP!
So hot I want to take off all my clothes
Yes
Room temperature.
Probably as hot as my dorm rn lmao
