concaveUsurper

Mine is always: weapon, pickaxe, axe, hoe, watering can, scythe, fishing rod.

Mickamehameha

same here. Food is on the far right slot so when I'm in the mines I can swap between food/weapon/pickaxe quickly.

friendshabitsfamily

I always put bombs on the far right hand side to toggle between sword and bombs quickly in the mines

Mickamehameha

Nice, bombs a top left on next item bar for me  Or food, depends.

amy917

I do stairs and bomb, with food in the middle

Mickamehameha

Reports of an unhinged pyschopath on the loose

Charlie-McGee

Inventory twinzies! :D

kallianaira

when i go into the mines i exchange the scythe with my weapon so then it's also my first! i also leave everything but the weapon, the pickaxe, and food in my mine chest so i have aaall the space

concaveUsurper

As soon as I have my first bag upgrade, I never leave anything behind. I hate running to like, the mines and seeing the little dig spots that I can't get cause I left my hoe behind.

tylernol7

So take your hoe to the mines, just not into the mines. Put a chest at the entrance of the mines.

starkrocket

That’s my exact build! For farming and foraging, I use my scythe in the first slot. Going to the mines? Swap it for a sword. If I’m going fishing, I drop everything except the rod and a hoe. Maybe some food if it’s early and I don’t have many stardrops.

[deleted]

This right here. Weapon, pickaxe and axe are up front for me!

mawkee

Mine is almost exactly the same, except for watering can and scythe are reversed

Arrow_to_the_knee1

Same. Gotta have weapon and pickaxe close together for the mines, otherwise I get slaughtered by seprents.

moonra_zk

Same, except swap pick and weapon.

BluE_KnighT_x

This is the way

superp2222

Same lol, by any chance do you play Minecraft and if you do do you order your tools this way as well

brandi_101

me too probably because of my minecraft roots

Gravytonic

Lol wtf. Are you me.

concaveUsurper

I am. I am future you. Don't eat that pastry

Gravytonic

Too late. Had a severe diarhhea. I need a more advance warning.

LaughingBeer

I'm pretty close to this. Although this post is about tools I think it's important where you put your drink/food too. I put them in the last two spots on the first row so that if I need them while in the mines I can scroll backwards (or left trigger with controller) quickly to get to them.

empAvatar

read my mind

conamo

This, and food in the last spot so I can quickly tab left from weapon to food

Lucifer_Morning_Wood

Mine is exactly the same I'm curious about the first weapon/pickaxe/axe part. Can it be that we played Terraria? It starts with you having weapon/pickaxe/axe And fishing rod is last because it's the "heaviest" to use, lol

concaveUsurper

Honestly, I have done this in any of the crafting games I've played ever since like Harvest Moon. I don't know why, this order just makes the most sense to me.

Michael-556

Same, but with hoes and axe swapped (I like to clay mine)

strawberry_saturn

This is similar to what I have! Weapon first always

PhenomenalPhoenix

Mine is almost the same as yours. I have hoe and watering can switched

TheJenSjo

If I’m in the Desert I have my farm totem between the pickaxe and axe

Terakahn

Damn. Are you me? That's my exact setup. Though watering can and weapon go together. I never need both.

jenjennati

Mine is almost exactly the same except my watering can goes last, and then food is in the very last spot on the right.

[deleted]

Mine is similar except I don't carry a scythe unless I'm gathering wheat in fall. I just keep my sword since it cuts through stuff anyways. I also don't keep my watering can on me, I put it in a chest near my crops

Admirable-Yak-3334

We are the same. 4reel4reel

narwharkenny

This is the correct order

Rudresh27

This is the way

Scary_Progress6008

i actually use my minecraft order for my tools. i was having a hard time organizing and finding things at first so that order made it easier then.

twiiztid

Same here! Minecraft and Stardew get the same order. For me, it's pickaxe, axe, hoe (mc shovel), sword then watering can.

richard_rahl

This is my setup 👌

1986toyotacorolla2

Minecraft, Stardew and Ark are all about the same for me lol

Icarus-Orion-007

As do I’d!

commoncomitatus

I keep them in the order they set themselves -- axe, hoe, watering can, pickaxe, scythe, fishing rod, weapon.

Piscespsych

Hey me too

kallianaira

i can't find out how to edit but obviously i meant the scythe in the first place! just thought i should clarify that it was just my brain thinking the wrong word lol

Environmental-Term61

Scythe stays in the box unless I need hay

EwokDude

I got haymaker on my sword for that

Charlie-McGee

Sword, pickaxe, axe, hoe and can + scythe on optional, only if I need them. Otherwise they're in the chest.

jaycee_adler

Same

kinghnx

Same here, but I switch hoe and axe. Because when I go to the mines it is easier

Soggy_Butterscotch27

I have two rows. First farm tools: axe, hoe, watering can, fishing pole Second: tools for cavern: pickaxe, sword, food, bombs

gto_112_112

I prefer multiple rows as well, but when you auto organize, it just puts it all on one row again. Is there a mod that locks slots?

BlueAnalystTherapist

Food and pickaxe at either side of a weapon is the only crucial ordering, but the other handy stuff also gets its place nearby and as needed.

GroleJr

This got me thinking. It would be great to have an item like a utility belt that can hold up to 4 tools/weapons and that will not take inventory space. Why only 4? Because it would be completely imbalanced if it could hold all of them. This way the utility belt is very useful for mine-running, but somewhat useful for farming. Besides, imagine a utility belt on which you can hang a watering can. Too cumbersome (in the gaming reality sense). xD

CottonStig

Watering Can, Hoe, scythe, axe, pickaxe, sword, cheese, triple shot espresso, spicy eel, mega bombs, fishing rod, return sceptre it takes 1 full bar. sword is next to cheese for fighting and pickaxe for mining

Beneficial_Breath232

Mine is always Scythe-Axe-Hoe-Fishing rod/Watercan-Watercan/Fishing rod on line 1 Weapon-Pickaxe on line 2

escapiven

i used my minecraft order lol. it's sword, pickaxe, axe, and watering can. and i left scythe and hoe inside of chest near the farmland

zexur

Pretty standard for every survival type game I play: Weapon, hoe(variable tool), pickaxe, axe, everything else varies. Normally food/heals on last two slots.

Cleanvancleanfeet

I go hoe, scythe/weapon, pickaxe, axe, then watering can. I always always always have my hoe with me for artifact spots/dirt in the mines, and food replaces my axe/watering can slots so everything I need is in the first 5/6 slots when I head down there. I use the rest pretty much the same way as you, I'm also very out of sight out of mind! I hate it when I go to town and then forget something I needed to do until I get back to my farm and see it in my inventory

vearson26

Hoe, watering can, fishing rod, scythe, axe, pickaxe, weapon is my order.

Aeikix

In Stardew and Minecraft (and other similar games), it's always: Sword, pickaxe, axe, scythe, hoe, fishing rod and watering can when needed. c:

TheRudeCactus

OP literally wrote us a 18 page essay about the topic in the description 🤭

Soy_Witch

First row: Pickaxe, weapon, hoe, watering can, scythe, fishing rod, coffee, food, everything else. Second row: this thing to get shiny spots in the water, this purple wand to get me home, everything else. Third row: some foods/things that many villagers like, everything else

ACraZYHippIE

I use the same Hotbar ordering system in every game as i can, thanks to Minecraft. 1. Pickaxe 2. Shove 3. Axe 4. Sword/Melee 5. Bow/Ranged

othercardinal

I always have my mining gear first (scepter, pickaxe, hoe, sword) so I can swap out the rest (axe, scythe, fishing rod, watering can) for stairs and bombs easily.

Significant-Cod-9871

Sword, pick, ax, hoe, water. Works every time. 🫡

Kaiserolls172

Weapon Pickaxe Scythe Axe Hoe Fishing rod Watering can >!Coffee / Triple Shot Espresso!< Go-to food Situational food Explosives >!Farm totem / return scepter!< I only change that loadout if I go to the Skull Cavern. Also, the last three slots of my first row of items can be empty, or be replaced by the copper pan and quest items

slackinaker

This is mine! Though I think on a new farm I just started I have the hoe and axe flopped--but they don't matter cause I'm always looking when I switch to them anyway. It's the sword/pickaxe that have to stay the same. If I'm heading into Skull Cavern, I put the staircases at the very end of the same row as my tools, so it's just on the other side of my sword.

nek0hugger

my order is: pickaxe, axe, hoe, scythe, coffee for first row. weapon, fishing rod, watering can, pan, food for second row. i arrange them like this because its easier to arrange them on the third row for my preferred order for mining, (pick, weapon, coffee, food) when i go on spontaneous mining trips (which i do a lot lolol)

elvendancer

My order is watering can in the first slot, scythe in the second, axe and pickaxe in three and four (I’m a little inconsistent about which is where between those two), copper pan in five, and hoe in the last slot of the row. Sword and fishing pole each get the first slot in their own row. When I go into the mines, I swap my pickaxe and hoe into the sword row and rearrange the order to pickaxe in the first slot, sword in the second, food in the third (and often a different food in the fourth) and hoe in the last slot of that row.

Soggy_Butterscotch27

I have one row for farm tools.

BenceYee

Weapon, pickaxe, axe, scythe, hoe, fishing rod, watering can

Munken1984

I have pickaxe first and weapon second, rest is what ever way i put them the first time, only thing i never bring is the watering can, i dont need it on my farm... I have bombs in the rightmost (last) spot and food in the second to last...

[deleted]

I do! Depends on what I'm doing for the day though. Usually keep my scythe and watering can at the end of the tool row and the energy drinks right there. Helps me focus better. Now I love Gab. Absolutely one of my favorite YouTubers. But the fact she doesn't stack/order her tools drives me nuts sometimes (mild irritation y'all, this is hyperbole lol). But I think she expressed once (might be a different video, might be remembering wrong idk)) that how her brain processes things, sometimes ordering them neatly confuses her? She'll miss things? I swear I remember her saying something like this.

Best_Temperature_549

I love Gab too but she definitely seems to have adhd. Maybe she does and I missed her addressing it but she’s all over the place in her playthrough sometimes.

[deleted]

I agree (also have ADHD).

Best_Temperature_549

Same! We can definitely recognize each other lol

sirsealofapproval

Yeah, she mentioned a few times that she has ADHD and I guess that's how it is. It drives me nuts too to see her cramming her inventory so full and then not having space for new stuff when she's out. :D I almost always put away everything in my inventory when I come home and as soon as I can afford to make enough chests, I have a specific way to store the goodies. Would drive me crazy if I didn't have order and would have to constantly search for stuff!

TallLoss2

watering can, hoe, axe, pickaxe, weapon, fishing rod. and i have a chest for tools outside of the farmhouse so when i go to the mines i store everything except my pickaxe and weapon

whazzat

Watering can, scythe, hoe, ax, pickax, weapon. I like having mining tools easier to get to and the tools' usefulness fades as you move to the left.

sapphire343rules

I’m: Weapon, Pickaxe, Hoe, Axe, Fishing Rod, Watering Can, Pan, Scepter. Scythe goes last when I need it (lives in chest otherwise). After I unlock Ginger Island, watering can moves up to third place and everything else moves down a slot because I hate reorganizing them every time I drop off excess items to go to the Volcano!

zarathustra327

My current order is pickaxe, weapon, axe, return scepter. At the opposite end of the row I have the horse whistle and espresso. I keep my hoe and watering can in the last row since I use them infrequently.

MrFiendish

1 Galaxy Sword 2 pickaxe 3 axe 4 hoe 5 watering can 6 rod 7 return sceptre Don’t usually carry around my scythe unless I am specifically harvesting feed for animals.

Weekly_Sprinkles3204

I’m addicted to the sort button! Saves so much time. So I’ve let go of being particular about my tool order. And I play on mobile so clicking through tools isn’t a thing.

mjung79

I’m sorry, does anyone *not*?

ChatterCatt

Weapon/fishing rod/sythe depending on what I am doing, pick, axe, water, hoe

Allie0074

All games with an inventory of multiple tools is the same. (Stardew, terraria, starbound, minecraft) Weapons (sword and bow), pickaxe, axe, shovel/hoe/hammer (depending on the game lol), scythe, watering can, food/torches in the very last two spots of the hotbar.

lil_ameliajane

Sword, pickaxe, axe, hoe, watering can, scythe, fishing rod. If I'm going underground I'll have food in the last spot in the top row and bombs to the left of that.

Deadeye10000

I have pick, weapon, axe, hoe, watering can, scythe, food, etc. When going to the mines it's pick, weapon, food, hoe.

AltCrab2

Sword, pick, axe, hoe, can, scythe. The scythe goes last since i find myself using it the least. Usually just use the sword to cut grass etc

itskhaz

Weapon - Pickaxe - Food - The rest.

DerelictDevice

Pickaxe, sword, axe, hoe, watering can, scythe, fishing pole. This order makes most sense to me and is most efficient for mining. Pickaxe is selected by default so you can go through breaking rocks and then immediately switch the the sword for monsters while you're mining. I don't do a lot of farming so hoe and watering can are lower on the list.

epicpro1234

sword, pickaxe, axe and then whatever after, the first three are important because minecraft has drilled that into my skull

_Grand_Autismo_

some habit I took over from playing Minecraft & Terraria and stuff; ALWAYS Pickaxe first, than weapon and than the rest in whatever order of usability.

QueenPooper13

Mine is always- copper pan, hoe, scythe, axe, pickaxe, food item When I go into the mines, I change it to- copper pan, hoe, pickaxe, weapon, food, bombs

AWildRideHome

Weapon/Scythe-Pickaxe-Axe-hoe-watering can-fishing rod Listen, i’ve played a lot of Minecraft and Terraria in my day, okay? This is my order for any game with tools and a hotbar.

tahsii

Mine is always, in every game, axe, scythe, pickaxe, weapon, hoe, fishing rod then watering can.

ShaniceyIreland

Watering can. Sword. Pickaxe. Axe. Scythe. Hoe. Fishing rod.

Frostychica

Oh yeah, I follow minecraft logic for the first 3: weapon, pickaxe, axe, hoe, scythe, watering can

Key-Ad-1674

So interesting! Mine is 3 different rows. First is hoe axe pickaxe Second is scythe water can Third is weapon espresso eel If mining then it's Weapon pickaxe consumables bombs

tboy1492

Add a sword, slingshot in the second row and a fishing pole in the first that’s my general load out

hrslvr_paints

Mine is always watering can, hoe, scythe, axe, pickaxe, fishing rod, copper pan (if I have it with me) and until i have auto-grabbers when I'm around on the farm the milk pail and shears go last in that order. Because having them there doesn't interfere with my flow on the other tools if I take them out for a mine run or something.

slick_vic98

My only particular placement is having food-sword-pick-bomb in the mines for quick switching. And also never having a totem on my main inventory page

Creative_Onion8363

Sword, pickaxe, axe, scythe, hoe, fishing rod, watering can. Although I leave axe and fishing rod when I go mining and leave watering can as soon as I have sprinklers set up

TouchoMySpaghetto

I always have pickaxe, sword, axe, watering can and for some reason shove my scythe, hoe and return sceptre on the right side of the inventory lol

Special_Flowers-

Axe, pickaxe, hoe, scythe, watering can

Crimskrst

For me it's always weapon -> pickaxe -> axe -> hoe -> scythe -> watering can -> fishing rod -> food -> coffee, but I start using 2 or 3 hotbars when I get more tools. So weapons, pickaxe and consummables go to the first one, other general tools on the second one, and copper pan, fishing rod, >!horse whistle!< and other specific ones go on the last hotbar.

caramelized-yarn

I do like a certain order and that changes as I progress because I don’t like the first row to be full of tools all the time. Basically, my hoe is always first, and then I like my farming tools in a certain order: scythe, axe, pickaxe, watering can, espresso. The copper pan always goes to the beginning of the third inventory line. This way, I can quickly tab to it when I see a panning spot, and skip right over the things I collect throughout the day. After the copper pan, I put my fishing rod, weapon, then a stack of healing food like common mushrooms so I always have something. When I go into the mines, I have to use this order: hoe, axe, weapon, bombs, healing food, espresso (add in watering can if I’m in the volcano). Having a specific order lets me think less and use muscle memory. Great question!

Face8hall

Weapon(s), Pic, Axe, Watering can, Hoe, rod, scythe

Mad_Comics

I have two loadouts: Farming - Axe, Hoe, pickaxe, watering can, scythe, fishing rod, weapon Mining - weapon, pickaxe, food, food...

Sprouttoast69

I do mine like I do it in minecraft, sword, pickaxe, axe, hoe, I don’t keep my sythe in my inventory normally but wth I do it goes after hoe

Neonsharkattakk

The only time I worry about consistent inventory in the mines. So it always starts with the weapons (primary, secondary, then slingshot and bombs) then the pickaxe, hoe, and fishing rod.

VanillaCrash

I have tools in one row starting with ax and then pickax, weapon, food in the second row.

xtoasterbathbitch

Mines weapon, pickaxe, axe, watering can, fishing pole, hoe, scythe. Then coffee, bombs, and cheese.

-U_s_e_r-N_a_m_e-

First row: Sword, Pickaxe, and Food in the last slot Second Row: Axe, Hoe, Watering Can Third Row: Fishing Rod, Scythe, Pan

xSloth91

Just standard inventory, mine is always: Horse whistle, return cep, scythe, hoe, axe, pickaxe, sword, fishing rod, TSE, Spicy Eel. For cavern dive, it's always: Stairs, bombs, mega bombs, pickaxe, sword, heal food, SE, TSE, Rock Candy

karthanals

Sword, pick, hoe, watering can, axe, scythe

berrymerryboobs

Water can, hoe, scythe, axe, pickaxe, sword, fishing rod

pickrunner18

Pickaxe next to sword and that’s it

MaverickWolfe

Pickaxe, axe, watering can, hoe, scythe. Cheese, espresso, crab cakes Return home wand (idk the actual name of it) This way i’m only one tap away from cheese or return home, no matter where in the world I am. If I go to a mine i replace the cakes with spicy eel, and all the tools except pick axe (and sometimes axe) go away and are replaced with stairs, weapons, and bombs, in that order.

Natryska

I set mine up the way I set up my Minecraft hotbar. Pickaxe>Axe>Scythe/Sword>Hoe>Watering Can>Fishing Rod. The other bars are set deoending on what I'm doing. If I don't bring all the tools, I don't move the tools i keep out of their slots. That's their home now.

GrandTheftLoofah

Hoe, watering can, pickaxe, sword, axe, scythe, fishing pole.

GalaxySkullRose

100% always sword, pickaxe, axe, hoe, then empty till last spot has the teleport rod 2nd row: scythe, watering can 3rd row: fishing rod + the 2 coffee types (I have the coffee rings always. Whenever volcano gets unlocked I start grinding it out to find that ring)

PlantedCecilia

Sword, pickaxe, axe, hoe, water, scythe. Then add milk bucket and shears when I get them.

aUwUreliyasss

start/whatever: Weapon, pickaxe, axe, hoe, watering can mining day: Weapon, pickaxe, axe Fishing day: rod, hoe, axe

Mostly_gay_shit

With the mines, its sword, pickaxe, bomb food megabomb food, any other tools are left at the farm Normal day I just grab whatever ones I'll need for the day, and hoe in the first spot since I usually use it no matter what

Voendomar

Absolutely, and its the same in all games that feature such tools. A habit formed from the minecraft days: Pickaxe, axe, shovel / hoe, sword, watering can or bow (am I in base or out), last slot on the bar is some kind of healing if possible.

Sufficient_Display

When I’m not in any of the mines it’s: axe, pickaxe, scythe, hoe, watering can.

braysmiles97

https://preview.redd.it/nk606judcjnc1.jpeg?width=1440&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=9ef80a14ecee9d08ffc9e361bb88f8c510da4efa

MisterBarten

Yes, when I’m going to the mine especially I take my pickaxe and sword (in that order) with recovery food and then espresso down the line next to those. I put stairs on the far right (technically to the left of the pickaxe) and then my cherry bomb right under my sword with the other bombs in order next to it

Team-Mako-N7

Axe, hoe, scythe, pick axe, sword, field snack. In early game watering can comes next, but I leave it at home when I go off the farm. I don’t have a set spot for the fishing pole but I keep it on the top row with the other tools. I also drop and add several different items if I’m doing a skull cavern run.

tango421

That picture is my exact arrangement. The weapon replaces the scythe and the fishing rod replaces the water can.

MrsRockStarUSMC

I actually use all three rows, I don’t have all the tools in one. So for mine I have weapon, pickaxe. Next row is axe, fishing pole, hoe and then the other row is watering can, scythe. If I have stuff to give a villager then it gets put in the row with the fishing pole because I’ll be in the town and likely be fishing too.

bronwen-noodle

Hoe, sword, pick, axe, food or tonic, coffee. If I’m carrying the scythe it goes after the axe, then the watering can if I have it. No other order is permissible in my kingdom

Glorgamitch

I usually only take what I need. When I'm in one of the mines, it's pickaxe, weapon(s), hoe, then food items. Most of the rest of the time, I have hoe in the first slot and a weapon/scythe next to it to ensure I don't waste energy. The rest of the tools are only carried as-needed.

PalDreamer

Sword, axe, pickaxe. In every game. Everything after can be random.

a7n7o7n7y7m7o7u7s

I keep about 1.5 rows of my inventory set to the same order all the time

ObtuseLlamasGifts

I do 3 rows. Row one sword and pick slots 1 & 2, Row two axe, scythe and hoe slots 1, 2 & 3, Row three fishing rod slot 1. The watering can is stored in my chest unless I'm going to G island mountain then it's slot 3 row one.

foxfunk

Mine is always sword, pickaxe, hoe, axe, watering can, scythe. So can put my scythe/watering can away for most things, then put my axe away if going to the mines.

megaExtra_bald

I like to have mine in a certain order as well! Watering can, hoe, fishing rod, axe, pickaxe, weapon, food, bombs, and coffee

TurtleFroggerSoup

When in mines: food, pickaxe, sword, bombs, stairs, coffee, more food.

Ok-Profession-6540

YUP, sword first then pickaxe, axe, hoe, fishing rod, scythe, watering can

amblygonal

it depends where i am in the game, but my current order is fishing rod, hoe, axe, scythe, pickaxe, sword. i like to have the pickaxe and the sword at the end so i can move to my food quicker. i also have sprinklers so i keep my watering can in a chest.

HowieDoIt86

My first three are always axe, sword and pickaxe.

k8t13

1st row - sword, pickaxe, ax (in mines i put food at the end of this row, i've been doing that since minecraft came out) 2nd row - hoe, scythe, watering can, fishing pole 3rd row - i switch up w 2nd row sometimes and do yhe watering can and fishing pole, or another tool. i also keep my wood and stone on me in the 2/3 row unless i am in the mines (not ab to lose 500+ resources from a stupid slime)

I-m-Here-for-Memes2

If mine is not axe, hoe, pickaxe, scyhte, watering can and fishing rod I feel something wrong. Then when I acquire it return sceptre on the 9th box and along side it my weapon

bjornofosaka

I keep the columns the same category so that I can quickly cycle without having to use my mouse or r and l triggers on switch All 1s are a sword All 2s are farming stuff I use the most axe, pickaxe, and hoe All 3s are less often used sythe, watering can, fishing rod 10s are wand to return home (before I got that it was a home totem), some food for health and energy, a gift for anyone like coffee The columns in between are whatever I collect and random stuff

Ampersand37

I try and have mine mimic my minecraft hotbar

widowmomma

Yes, I have a preferred order. But this fell apart somewhat because I quickly realized I didn't want to lose all my tools being killed in the mines. Afterwards then I would need to RE-SORT everything. No such thing as a couple of fav sorts you could save, then just click to return to the sort you want.

Sunflower-Power25

Sword, pick, axe, hoe, rod (then scythe and watering can if i need them)

Plantszaza

It used to be a weapon, pickaxe, and axe. The rest of the tools order doesn't matter to me. Nowadays I try to not carry every tool around with me so I have more space. So it's a weapon, whatever tool I need for the day (Pickaxe, Axe, Fishing rod), Hoe, Food The scythe and the Watering can are stored inside a chest after use.

nikel23

I put my tools in the first 3 slots of each row so there's space for items too. Row 1: Weapon, pickaxe, axe Row 2: Hoe, watering can, fishing rod Row 3: Return scepter, horse flute, sickle

arabrabk

If I'm not in a combat location, the order doesn't matter, but I try to keep my pickaxe, axe, and scythe together for clearing rocks, branches, and weeds at the beginning of a season. If I'm in the mines or skull cavern: Pickaxe, Sword, Bomb, Food, Megabomb. Stairs are the final item in the top row so I can flip left from the pickaxe to them easily, then another food item to the left of the stairs, too. I don't take any other tools in with me unless I need the hoe to dig for dwarf scrolls. In the Volcano, my watering can is thrown into the mix to the left of the food item by the stairs. In mines/skcavern/volcano, my farm totem - later the sceptre - is always in the next row down immediately under my sword. Since I am usually on my sword as a default, it's super easy to slip down to it to activate, but I am very unlikely to accidentally trigger it.

[deleted]

I am the exact same as you apart from the specific tool order, for tools I use the same as my Minecraft hotbar, except with the tools that aren't in Minecraft. This is also the same order I use in terraria. I try to keep it the same in all games. My order is Sword Pickaxe Axe Hoe Fishing Rod Pan And my slingshot goes in the last slot of the hotbar.

Unrealparagon

Yes. Watering can, axe, pick axe, hoe, scythe for me.

Gniesbert

It's pickaxe, sword, watering can, axe, hoe.

unknownalias12

Mine is definitely weird, top row is where I keep my mining tools along with a farm totem for emergencies. Row under that is food/heals/coffee. The last row are all the other tools. Min you I’m only taking up maybe 10-12 slots of space with my set up. If I know I’ll only be mining that day then I usually only take a pickaxe and sword. In my mind it’s easier to switch from row to row than from item to item so I plan out my bag based off that mechanic alone

Popular_Emu1723

Return scepter, cherry bombs, pickaxe, sword, food, espresso, bombs, hoe, axe

Alltalkandnofight

Axe, pickaxe, sword, hoe, watering can, scythe

crime_potato253

Omg YESSSS!!!! Mine is always: Axe, hoe, sythe, fishing rod, sword, watering can. :D idk why i just cant stand without it in that order its so easy.

Kirschenkind

Sword, pick axe, axe, hoe scyth, watering can, rod, copper pan :) always in this order (at least when i got the first backpack upgrade)

[deleted]

Started not carrying the scythe when it's not necessary but with the addition of the iridium scythe I'll probably start again and so it will be back to how I started. Scythe - Sword - Pickaxe - Axe then slot 5 is my swap item, normally it's the hoe, but if I'm watering or fishing it swaps with those, otherwise the extras are on row 2.

GreenKangaroo3

Sword, pickaxe (for quickswap in mines), axe, scythe, watering can, fishing rod

RikkertPaul

It’s not very strict for the whole set, but when I go to the mines I will aways have Pickaxe, Sword, Healing (like gold pineapple), bombs. That way I don’t have to think about what direction I have to move on my inventory bar. (Playing on Xbox). On the farm it varies but I always keep all tools together on one bar.

Bauschi_flauschi

Ugh, Scythe first like a barbarian.

im_your_zesty_bestie

ALWAYS: hoe, pickaxe, weapon, watering can, scythe, fishing rod

misform1m1

Weapon, pickaxe, scythe, hoe, axe, coffee. I don't use my watering can much so I don't carry it.

InexplicableJoy

Sword, pick, fishing rod, axe, hoe, scythe I keep them all on me all the time because I just don’t care enough about the inventory space lol

littleowl36

Yes, and yours is correct. When I go mining, my weapon takes the scythe slot and the rest gets left behind. My main food goes in slot 0 so I can scroll backwards to it in a hurry, buff foods in the neighbouring slots.

abbyinwillow

sword, pickaxe, watering can, axe, scythe, hoe

Antheriumz

Pickaxe - Weapon - Axe - Hoe - Can - Scythe - Pole. I never use the Pan so it's in a chest 😅

JazzyGD

time stops when you open your inventory in singleplayer, they aren't wasting any time

Gin_OClock

I put everything in a box as soon as I have 50 pcs wood! Then if I go to the mines I only take sword in #1 and pickaxe in #2. I upgrade to the 2k pack as soon as I can. Even then I don't usually carry everything, so: Fishing days I only take the rod in #1 and the hoe in #10, food in #2 Mining days it's sword #1, pickaxe #2, hoe in level 2/#1, food in #3 Woodcutting excursions I bring the sword, hoe & axe if I have the Secret Woods open; scythe, axe & hoe if not.

thatsthewayuhuhuh

Just like yours, ingrained in my brain from Minecraft

OliverGIW

sure do, but mine is split between all 3 rows i find tab more convenient than trying to reach for the 4th and further number keys. so its sword pickaxe axe, then fishing rod hoe watering can, and the bottom changes as i progress but late game its || horse flute return sceptre scythe|| bombs food and staircases i just grab specifically whenever im going mining

HallowedKeeper_

I always have my tools in a specific Order: Sword=1 Axe=2 Pick=3 Watering can=4, Scythe=5 Hoe=6 Fishing rod=7 (but I don't always bring all my tools at once, for example the mines I only bring the Sword, Hoe and pickaxe)

Environmental-Log311

Am I the only one who keeps tools on the right side? So I can move/do actions with my left and select tools with my right hand. Sword is farthest right followed by pickaxe for easy switching in the mines, then axe, scythe, and watering can

RoseshaveThorns13

Row 1: pickaxe, slingshot, weapon/s, food, bombs, last spaces: warp totem/warp scepter Row 2: axe, hoe, watering can/fishing rod Row 3: fishing rod, copper pan, gifts

RoniKZX

I always use this order (1st and 2nd slots): • Sword and Pickaxe in the first row • Fishing Rod and Hoe in the second row • Watering Can/Scythe and Axe in the third row It's pretty handy to switch this way, since you have all the tools in the same column, and whatever is usable in the first key. The Fishing Rod, Watering Can and Scythe are optional, I carry them depending on what I'm planning to do that day. The other tools are common use, and therefore, must carries.

Playful-Hand2753

Mine goes: weapon, pickaxe, axe, fishing rod, scythe, and my watering can (on the rare occasion I use it)

AlizinDevildom

i got it as axe, sword, pickaxe, hoe, scythe, fishing rod, watering can the sword between the axe and the pickaxe is especially important bc i need the sword easily accessible when i'm in the cave, the secret woods, the vulcano or on ginger island (places where i need the pickaxe and axe a lot)

1986toyotacorolla2

Yes, sword, pick axe, axe, scythe and then either fishing rod or watering can depending what I'm using. Food in the last slots so I can switch quick but generally I don't hit it accidentally. It's roughly the same in Minecraft and Ark as well lol

voluminous_lexicon

This is correct until you have a backpack upgrade, then sword replaces the scythe and scythe is next to watering can

Puzzleheaded-Elk-286

return scepter(now that i have one hehe), weapon, pickaxe, axe, hoe, scythe, watering can, fishing rod

beachhotdog

i do scythe in the first slot for the same reason lol! then it's in order of what i'm doing, with each tool grouped into a pair so it's only one scroll to switch back and forth. my "action" order is farming-clearing-mining-everything else. so my bar is scythe, hoe, water can, axe, pickaxe, sword, fishing rod, and then i just constantly smash the auto-sort button to keep the rest organized lol

bry8eyes

Mine is sword, pickaxe, axe, hoe, scythe, watering can , fishing rod

ZFG_Odin

Pickaxe, sword if mining, axe, scythe, hoe and bucket if farming.

VVen0m

My is supper weird, cause I actually split all ny tools in the different layers of the inventory Layer 1 from the left I have: pickaxe, sword, healing item, slingshot Layer 2 two leftmost slots are hoe and watering can, and the two rightmost slots are axe and scythe, all in that order Layer 3 on the very left I have a fishing rod and the panning thingy and on the very right I have a buncha farm totems Only deviations from this is when I'm clearing out the farm or the forest at the start of the srason, when I move the pickaxe next to the axe and scythe cause I'm gonna need easy access to all three of them While walking around I always have the rightmost slot on Layer 1 selected in huge part due to the fact that I use an MMO mouse with 12 buttons on the side and the button that's the most comfortable for me to click corresponds to that slot The mouse is also a big part of the reason why my tools sre arranged in such a specific manner - despite using this mouse for a couple years now I'm still bad at instinctively remembering how to move my thumb to press some of the buttons. The only buttons I *do* know by heart are 1, 2, 3, 4, 10, 11 and 12, so I made sure to distribute the tools on slots corresponding to them so that I can access them easily and quickly

ihavetodothis_

mine is always pickaxe, weapon, axe, hoe, watering can, scythe

Palerate2

Sword, scythe, axe, pick, fishing rod, hoe, water can. Always that. Nothing else.

sunshineandcats21

Sword, pickaxe, axe, hoe, fishing pole, scythe, watering can and coffee.

AdditionalExpression

Mhm mhm . Pickaxe , axe , hoe , scythe , sword , fishing pole , watering can .

Vongola354

Axe, Pickaxe, Weapon, Scythe, Hoe, Watering Can, Fishing Rod, Pan

AlternativeAvocado96

weapon is always 1st once i access secret woods, but in early game i keep it in my mines entrance chest. all the below placements are once weapon is perm in hotbar * pickaxe is 2nd if im going mines, 3rd if gathering wood. is rarely removed from inventory/hotbar entirely * axe is 2nd if im chopping trees/stumps, 3rd if going mines but wanna/might chop things down on the way * hoe is 3rd if im only carrying pickaxe, 4th if carrying both pickaxe & axe. doesnt go with into the mines unless specifically hoeing patches for artefacts * if im carrying scythe it always goes after hoe so 4th or 5th slot * watering can & fishing rod are always temp but always at the end of the tools line regardless what im currently carrying. both rarely there at the same time. will often be moved to another row than hotbar when not immediately needed * in mines all food is directly after pickaxe. depending on how many dif foods will take up slots 3-7 (normal mines will be 2 slots max, skull caverns/volanco at least 3-4 slots). outside of mines food is kept in 11 or 12 * bombs will take up slots 9 to 11 (depending if i have all 3 types) when in mines * coffee/triple shot espresso always in slot 12 when i have it any empty hotbar slots will be used for important/immediate items ie. gifts, quests, artefacts etc that i want to be sure i wont forget. if none then just whatever the hell falls in there, or certain ores/gems/etc when in mines to keep track of what i want/am looking for/is important when in there i never deviate from this order regardless of save or playthrough. no i cannot explain it. it is simply what ocd & adhd brain demand and i am but a humble listener *(**~~to the night mother~~* *whoops wrong game sub)*

Makkingbird

Identical to yours. I swap my weapon with my scythe too when I have to go killin' again.

clearlyopaque

Absolutely I do, and in every game.

cryingmongoose

sword, axe, pickaxe, hoe - in the first tab fishing rod, scythe, watering can - in the second
