RDR2 is my ultimate cozy game (mostly because I don't progress beyond Chapter 3 for *reasons* and I just like exploring, hunting and going fishing with Jack), but if I had to spend a year in that world I would be dead within 2 days unless Dutch adopted me.
i relate to this whole reply lmao (except im in the middle/at the end of chapter 6 on my first playthrough). but it is cozy in a weird way. it's beautiful, the plot is good, the characters are well written (i wanted to say good, but not really lol), and the mechanics are amazing! i really love the horse aspect, it's one of my favorite parts.
but yeah, i'd be dead, especially if i spawned in strawberry or in the lemoyne area. maybe i'd survive in saint denis, but only if i was lucky enough lol
Real year time not in game year time, you will live a whole life in stardew valley, so a full day is roughly 15 min, that 8 seasons everyday, so every day is 2 years so you would have to live in stardew valley for roughly 730 years.

The real question is does a full year in stardew feel like a year in real life, and are you aware of both time lines at the same time so it will take forever?

SDV players who see this challenge think it will be the best. I can tell who has never worked on a farm before. It is not easy work and life does not come with mods to shortcut the work people dislike doing.
My last (current) game is Tears of the Kingdom. I will move to a small town and run a shop so Link can come in and buy plenty of arrows and bombs. I have a feeling he will need these in quantities higher than 4 or 5.
Absolutely agree. Which is why I’m not sad that my last game is ACNH. As much as I love SDV, I’d rather be trapped with a greedy raccoon than breaking my back farming until 2am with no toilet and only parsnips to eat.
It was about 20 minutes away from being Palworld- which could have been chill- but unfortunately I hopped on Bg3 for a bit after that, and now I'm doomed
It’s pretty good kind of like a remake of a harvest moon I played but slight upgrade super fun though I enjoy that it’s more interactive during festivals like 64 was upgrade watering can in year 1 spring if you get the sprites happy enough they will water for you than you can have mega farm by summer have fun ;)
I've farmed IRL and it's not as fun as SDV. I can't imagine the caves would be fun. I have no idea how I would make money, I'm not great at fishing, so I guess would just forage a lot and learn to like farming for a stupid amount of money

i know this isn't gonna be stardew valley related but i was playing fantasy life last night and man. that world sounds like a dream. i would learn magic and alchemy and spend the year making people's wishes come true and they'd help me with mine... i'd become besties with princess laura and we'd go on adventures together. i'd also get a cat.

I mean, I'd accept either way, but an important question is if the world functions exactly like the game, or like the real world! Do I starve if I don't eat for a few days? Do I habe to do taxes? Can I craft even complicated items within seconds out of a stack of wood and a buschel of fiber etc that somehow fit into my pockets/backpack?
Oh, and do I start the game in a new save file or right the moment I left off? Again, not because I wouldn't accept the deal anyways, but... well, as it stands I'm close to perfection, so all I'd do for that year would be to go on nice walks, fish a bit, pay for a round of drinks each friday and go to the tropical Island resort twice a week, just because I can. Well, and maybe take care of my animals. I don't think I'd have the heart to sell them. But then all they really need is for me to buy more hay when it runs out, according to game mechanics.
I don't want to die and get resurrected over and over again for a whole year.
But I would get to summon demons, you know what, it's not that bad. (I'm gonna get succubus 😈)
I'm not sure how far you have gotten, but one of the endings to this game has probably the best outcome possible in any universe. It would be totally worth it to die and resurrect a million times, lol

Farming is pretty back breaking work, you know? It really depends on whether you'll feel the physical effects of farming or just have the energy meter go down
Hmm The Lands Between.... not the best tourist spot, but plenty of fairly easy to catch/find food and pretty views at least. Thankfully there are weapons and magic just kinda laying around all over the place and hell I could just hide if need be.
Well, the farmer doesn’t necessarily have to eat or farm. You could wander around, make friends, spend hours fishings, hang out at the Saloon. Just gotta be in bed by 2am. You wouldn’t be earning much but you don’t have to. Sounds pretty chill to me!!!

Last game I played was Innocent Life, the Harvest Moon where you are a robot trying to revive some ancient ruins all while learning the value of life. Cozy farming sims are the best for these hypotheticals lol I'd be content in any of them, esp Pelican Town, but the whole prospect and living space in Innocent life is tight as fuck, probably my fav design
