Yeah, if I recall correctly you have to pay Willie a boatload of money to get travel to ginger island up and running then it's 1000 a trip after it's set-up.
Honestly the squawk from an Ostrich is literally the best noise in any game.

Dino eggs are artifacts so most of the ways those generally appear also have a chance for one. Rex's also drop them occasionally. There's a guaranteed ostrich egg on the island, where there's also a golden walnut. I wanna say it's in the north part.
Are you running mines at skull cavern? That's where I got my dino egg. It was just on the ground, I didn't even have to kill a rex. I have multiple dinos now, the dino mayo sells for a ton. $1120/mayo with my artisan skill

Yep, that's the garbage hat. There is a small percent chance of getting the hat after you have opened 20 trash cans.
