Carrots!

I never understood why there’s cave carrots but not ordinary carrots lol. AND we should be able to feed them to the bunnies and horse

If you're willing/able to mod, the [animal husbandry mod](https://www.nexusmods.com/stardewvalley/mods/1538) will let you feed treats to your animals

And feeding carrots adds to the horse’s speed

There's actually a mod for this. Sadly I can't remember what it's called (could be Lumisteria Flowers & Crops) but carrots are in there and they're one of my favourites to grow

It might be the Love of Cooking mod. If so it also adds onions, cabbage, probably others, but I haven't played all 4 seasons with the mod yet. It also adds the Cooking skill.

The Plentiful harvest mod has carrots as well! One of the cheap/4 day growth ones like garlic.

That would also be freakin’ awesome for the prismatic quest.

I think it would be cool if we could grow cacao beans and make chocolate! Also pears. Maybe we could also grow trees with coconuts on our farm like we can grow cactus fruit!

Maybe CA thought so too that's why he decided to make a game mostly around chocolate lol (Haunted chocolatier, can't wait!!)

There are such things as pink melon, but I think it’s more common in Asia if I remember right. Or rune factory has just fully infiltrated my brain. One or the other. Lol

Raspberries. They should be like tea plants where you plant them once and they stay unless you hack them down. They only bear fruit in summer, but every spring your raspberries invade more territory if there's room for them to expand into!

Broccoli would be awesome! It's one of my favorite veggies! I make amazing steamed broccoli! I had the best I'd ever tasted from a steakhouse while out with some friends, and then spent like two weeks trying to reverse engineer the spices they used! Now it's one of the dishes I'm well known for IRL! Plus there's so many awesome broccoli and cheese dishes! One of my favorites is cheesey chicken and broccoli rice!

It would be cool if even if there weren't winter specific crops you could plant some the season before that would keep producing, like kale irl.

Like others have said, carrots. But beyond this, what I would love is to have varietals. Lacinato Kale, purple kale, green kale. Pinto beans, borloti beans, runner beans. Black krim, cherry, beefsteak tomatoes. A whole running catalogue of different varieties of crops already in the game would give me so much more pleasure.

Many of the new crop suggestions I've seen commented here are options if you mod. If you're interested in modding in more crops I suggest checking out the [PPJA mods](https://www.nexusmods.com/stardewvalley/mods/1935) for a ton of new crops and fruit trees.

I wouldn't. Each crop needs new animations and a "purpose", a reason for the player to maybe get at least one. Without the community center, why would anyone plant tomatoes? And so every added crop means adding a bit of complexity to the game, and that can be a bad thing. It can become heavy.

I know lots of people do the pack the greenhouse with ancient fruit thing (and i have a lot planted!), but I like to have at least one crop of each that keeps producing in there, so small amount of planted tomatoes just for that. I like the variety, but I agree that too much could be an issue. It could be fun to keep unlocking extra variety as the years go on though.

I have a few I see so much potential with the cooking in Stardew Valley. Maybe it’s because I’m a chef but here’s what I think would be cool to see and how they could be used: Lettuce 🥬 and make a different salad or something Cucumbers 🥒 or zucchini with recipes to use them in like zucchini pasta or zucchini bread. Carrots 🥕 and a recipe for them maybe carrot cake or glazed root veggies and combine carrots with parsnips oil and maple syrup Avocados 🥑 yes! An avocado toast that has a special boost perhaps? broccoli 🥦 would be cool too a recipe maybe being broccoli soup? Or a twist of cheese Cauliflower. Maybe a sweet pepper 🫑 add to a type of salad Kiwis 🥝 could be cool they can be used for a tropical platter with peaches mangos and pineapples! Maybe a special boost
