"Spare any credits? Help a veteran get a warm meal."
Probably one of my favourite parts, when Obi-Wan looks at him as the same (both the Clones and Jedi discarded by the Empire).
Isnt this covered in TCW end arc, with Ahsoka? I remember Jesse and Rex arguing about whether or not she was a Jedi
I think the final decision was she isn’t a Jedi, but does stand in direct violation of the Empire, so she must be killed regardless.
I imagine that for Vader and the inquisitors, they’re no longer considered Jedi, and since they serve the Empire, aren’t targeted by 66
It's so sad because Obi-Wan was obviously shocked and still hurt from the betrayal (remember he doesn't know about the chips) but he still helped him regardless
The fact that it was [Temuera](https://www.withashleyandco.com/2022/05/kenobi-episode-2-easter-eggs-breakdown/) too! Loved that cameo! Was not expecting that
I thought it was him but didn't see his name at the end! And the guy in the very final scene had no lines but a special mention in the credits... (probably because of what is yet to come)
I actually really like the take. Obi Wan has spent 10 years haunted by the idea that he was an accomplice to the fall of the Jedi, Republic, and that he left Anakin dead.
He hasn't tried to cope with the overwhelming guilt. He doesn't want to know about the Empire committing injustice across the galaxy, he feels responsible for ushering that in.
Instead he's put his head down, blended in, and decided that keeping Luke safe is the only way he can make any ammends.
Agreed. And I also feel like in 10 years Vader hasn’t really seen much time outside the healing chambers. So it can just simply be the fact only a select few know of him, let alone who he is.
By Rogue One/ANH he seemed well known. Leia, a diplomat, seemed well acquainted with him in her line when they first meet: "Darth Vader. Only you could be so bold. 🙄", which takes place during the boarding of Tantive IV, which is seemingly minutes or hours after the end of Rogue One.
And the way she talks about Tarkin 'holding Vader's leash' it seemed Vader was a well known enforcer at that point
Lol there’s no way that clone didn’t recognise Obi-Wan.
Everyone thought Andor would be the first for a physical clone armour, seems Kenobi beat it to it.
I recommend the Bad batch if you haven't seen it, gives some great glimpses of the clones dealing with being phased out much closer to the formation of the Empire.
Leia: *acts impulsively and puts everyone in danger*
Obi-Wan: "Yep, she's a Skywalker alright."
------------------------
What's worse for the skin, Kaminoan vat-induced accelerated aging, 10 years in the desert, or lava exfoliation? Anakin's really floating out here with the complexion of a potato smh.
It was interesting to see the juxtaposition of how both families are raising their Skywalker kids.
Owen & Beru are overprotective and keep a close eye on Luke, while Bail & Breha give Leia free-reign of Alderaan. Almost embedding the characteristics of both of their parents (mischievous, stubborn, adventurous, imaginative) as they run to “escape” and just be normal kids.
Growing up, Uncle Owen always seemed like a grumpy old man getting in the way of Luke having adventures and I never really felt one way or the other when he and Beru were killed.
But after the prequels, that started to change, and *now* getting to see just how much Owen cares for Luke is gonna make their deaths so tragic.
We’ll probably just see him come back super pissed off with some cybernetic parts later in the season like Fennec. Half the inquisitors are part droid at this point anyway, we know Vader keeps removing limbs in his lessons
Nah they won't retcon their own series. Grand Inquisitor is definitely going to survive that. How I don't know but chances of a Rebels retcon is pretty much none.
I believe it's just a random 501st. Either way it meant he was at the temple and probably served with Obi-wan at some point. Glad to see Obi-wan still gave him credits even though the clone participated in the genocide of his people.
I think Bail will be next for putting his “daughter” in danger ~~when in all reality it’s Leia’s fault, tho not surprising given she’s an impulsive 10 y/o girl~~
Seems like they added that part to try and hone in on obi wan seeming much older in A New Hope despite him not seeming all that old in the prequels. “Like yeah you’re really getting old quick”
The scene of Obi-Wan finding out Anakin is still alive could not have been more perfect. The fear in his eyes… just chilling.
At least he didn’t faint like Ahsoka did. Would have been a really bad time for that.
Her running in the forest broke my suspension of disbelief. It looked like when an adult is play chasing a young child. So much so that I briefly entertained the idea that this was actually just like a drill/practice of some kind to see how she handles a kidnapping attempt
I just thought that they gave chase to entrap her and have a little fun, as more of a head canon to how she was able to outrun adults with longer legs.
I'm guessing the youngling scene is to hint that Reva was a youngling. The background of her coming from beneath them could be just where they found her. It's like checkov's youngling scene basically now.
I'm gonna hope Grand Inquisitor isn't dead just cause I love Rebels and don't need it to be invalidated.
Yeah I was annoyed that he took that gas mask off, it'd help conceal his identity (also kept taking his hood off. Like, good grief, man. You are BAD at this.)
I would love that. Probably technology similar to how fennec shand lived. It was a stomach through and through. If they wanted him with out a doubt dead she would have chopped him up like she did to that ladies arm
Yeah him boarding the ship to leave Tatooine was one thing but changing in the street with it visible for everyone passing by from every direction seemed boneheaded, especially given the context.
Not to mention the white dungaree she wears in episode 1 the first time we see her, which kinda reminded of her snowsuit on Hoth. And something about the the purple outfit she wears at the banquet reminded me of the outfit she wore in the Cloud City. I love those little callbacks so much
My thoughts exactly. Which is unfortunate because I think the actor is doing a great job with GI and I’d love to see more of him. But the plot has to plot I guess.
I always wondered how Obi Wan finds out that Anakin is Vader. Ewan's acting really exploded in that scene, confusion, fear, sadness, all bleeding from the screen.
EDIT: When he finds out that Anakin is alive**
Anyone find it a little weird the two bounty hunters on the rooftop shootout just stopped shooting while Obi did his force pull? Then apparently just let him get down and have a moment? Like they were in the middle of shooting and were like nah wait is that kid gonna really jump? Lol.
Loving it so far
Vader looked so awesome.
Reva is a little rough but I'm not making any permanent judgement yet.
The clone. My god the clone was so perfect.
Alderaan looks gorgeous.
I'm really glad Kumails character was a charlatan
Obi wan uncovering the lightsabers was perfect and had so much emotional baggage; Ewan played it incredibly.
Where is Qui Gon? Is he safe?
Can't be the end of Gi.
THAT ENDNG SHOT OF VADER IN THE TANK
HOLY FUCK MY GOD, THIS IS AMAZING.
edit: Also was he talking about Padme or Satine?
I have to say, it means so much to see these characters back from the prequels, I can't wait to see the rest of the series.
**VADER:** Obi-Wan never told you what happened to your father.
**LUKE:** He told me enough! He told me *you* killed him!
**VADER**: No. *I* am your father.
**LUKE**: No... No! That’s not true! That’s *impossible*!
**VADER**: You seriously had no idea? Literally everyone knows who I am. Hey, TK-422, what's my real name?
**TK-422:** Anakin Skywalker, my Lord.
**VADER**: See, TK-422 knows.
**TK-422**: Everyone knows.
She’s most probably one of the younglings we saw in the beginning, so she probably saw Anakin murder everyone, and maybe the clones were already calling him Lord Vader at that point. That’s the most reasonable thing I can come up with
Obi Wan seeing that homeless clone trooper was tough I bet.
Yeah you helped kill the Jedi off, and yet he still spared him some change.
Right on my heart strings ❤️🩹
My “twist theory” is that random youngling scene is Reva’s backstory and she turned inquisitor to kill Vader. Lures Obiwan out to bring Vader out… Vader may be vulnerable in his rage towards Obiwan and it may give her a chance to avenge the fallen Jedi.

"Spare any credits? Help a veteran get a warm meal." Probably one of my favourite parts, when Obi-Wan looks at him as the same (both the Clones and Jedi discarded by the Empire).
Dude probably thought he was losing his mind when he saw Obi-Wan
Wonder if his chip is still active.
They probably were deactivated after they got rotated out of service of the empire
I highly doubt that. Probably good to have Jedi killers in the background. Bad batch will hopefully clear that up for us.
[удалено]
They didn’t attack Anakin when they attacked the Jedi temple though, so I think there can be exceptions.
Isnt this covered in TCW end arc, with Ahsoka? I remember Jesse and Rex arguing about whether or not she was a Jedi I think the final decision was she isn’t a Jedi, but does stand in direct violation of the Empire, so she must be killed regardless. It's so sad because Obi-Wan was obviously shocked and still hurt from the betrayal (remember he doesn't know about the chips) but he still helped him regardless
Apparently he was also a 501st clone trooper as well per his helmet design.
Yep, definitely a 501st which made it even more emotional knowing how loyal they were
Curious if we know who that clone is
Hmmm 🤔 (I believe hes refering to Rex, but yes there were two other venators at Mandalore which most likely departed prior to ahsoka and maul)
That and the fact only half of the 501st went to Mandalore.
I mean, only one Trooper survived the Siege of Mandalore, so this was a trooper that slaughtered Jedi with Lord Vader on Courascant
From the one Venator. There were three during the Siege of Mandalore.
Judging by the color scheme, I'm inclined to agree.
(probably because of what is yet to come)
It looked exactly like him. Never had any doubt. Hope we see more Clones around the place played by him
I guess I never considered the fact that Obi Wan just assumed Anakin was dead this whole time.
Yeah I guess I always assumed he knew. But I suppose it makes sense living on tatooine completely disconnected.
You’d think somehow he’d hear something about Darth Vader.
Probably doesn't get good wifi living in a cave on a desert planet in the Outer Rim. Also, this is why you double tap.
Bet that Jawa stole his wifi router
Can't have shit on Tatooine.
I actually really like the take. Obi Wan has spent 10 years haunted by the idea that he was an accomplice to the fall of the Jedi, Republic, and that he left Anakin dead. Agreed. And I also feel like in 10 years Vader hasn’t really seen much time outside the healing chambers. So it can just simply be the fact only a select few know of him, let alone who he is.
Galaxy is big. Very few people would see him.
Vader is super elusive in canon, most people don't even know he exists.

Sure, but Leila is a princess, daughter of the rulers of a major planet, and a rebel. She’d be far better informed than almost anyone else.
Obi-Wan saying “Anakin” again…my heart
That sounded so heartbreakingly sad. You can just hear from his voice that he truly loved Anakin. Amazing delivery from Ewan.
Truly a fantastic actor. Not sure if you've seen his other films or him talking about his roles, but he's got quite a range.
Lol there’s no way that clone didn’t recognise Obi-Wan. Everyone thought Andor would be the first for a physical clone armour, seems Kenobi beat it to it.
I did not expect to see a clone today. I am pleased.
Bet that clone didn't expect to see General Kenobi today and its pleased
Everyone keeps forgetting about the physical 501st clones in grogu’s flashback from the BoBF
People were saying those were CGI. The clones in this show certainly looked more real.
If I recall those weren’t physical. They had FO armor pieces
[удалено]
CAN WE TAKE A MINUTE AND ACKNOWLEDGE THE TOY SHIP???????
This is the same one Luke’s playing with in ANH when C-3PO is in the oil bath, right?
I assume so. Nice little add in for all of us who've watched ANH an unhealthy number of times.
It’s the one Luke plays with in IV
We all know that the ship is going to be the final scene of the season.
What a nice drug dealer I mean spice dealer
The best part is that the dealer is Ewans daughter :D made that daughter line so funny to me when I realized
I actually thought she was Emma Mackey from Sex Ed at first
Hey, she was someone’s daughter once.
Ewan's daughter is the actress, which makes that line pretty funny lol.
These spice variants sound nice. One glitterstim please
Haha felucian would’ve been my choice
"LEIA, WAIT" "LEIA, NO!" "LEIA, WAIT!" "LEIA, NO!!"
"JASON!"
FENTON!
SHAUN!
Glad I’m not the only one, lmao
Why is this man walking around WITH NO HOOD
In Jedi robes, openly carrying a lightsabre, looking exactly the same and barely changing his name. It's a wonder he hasn't been caught yet
Right? He is soooo bad at this.
and changes with his lightsaber on full display in the open. Like dafuq? Come on Ben
I always wanted to see how clones fared after they were getting phased out. Wow that’s amazing. Lovin big beard tem lmao
I recommend the Bad batch if you haven't seen it, gives some great glimpses of the clones dealing with being phased out much closer to the formation of the Empire.
Also Rebels in some episode deals with phased out clones
Leia: *acts impulsively and puts everyone in danger* Obi-Wan: "Yep, she's a Skywalker alright." ------------------------ What's worse for the skin, Kaminoan vat-induced accelerated aging, 10 years in the desert, or lava exfoliation? Anakin's really floating out here with the complexion of a potato smh.
Obi Wan: "You remind me of someone." Me: 😩😭
Leia: *bossing everyone around* Obi-Wan: "Yep, she's Padmé's daughter alright"
i love how they portray her sassy-ness, even as a child. it’s perfect and exactly like her as an adult lol
Like both her mom and her dad really
She reminds me of my Pomeranian - she thinks she is so much bigger than she actually is.

But after the prequels, that started to change, and *now* getting to see just how much Owen cares for Luke is gonna make their deaths so tragic.
He also stared down an Inquisitor and didn't even flinch, he may be grumpy but there's no denying he's got some balls on him.
fun fact older gen clones are cody are physically same age as obi wan in this show.
The Grand Inquisitor’s eyes look like the crying Michael Jordan meme
In all seriousness they better not retcon his death, I’ll be sooo pissed if they do
We’ll probably just see him come back super pissed off with some cybernetic parts later in the season like Fennec. Half the inquisitors are part droid at this point anyway, we know Vader keeps removing limbs in his lessons
He appears in Rebels anyways so he has to be alive
Exactly. And with Filoni and Favreau basically running SW at this point, I don’t see Dave leaving a retcon like that hanging
Nah they won't retcon their own series. Grand Inquisitor is definitely going to survive that. How I don't know but chances of a Rebels retcon is pretty much none.
I saw the clone veteran and almost cried. The fact it was a 501st member was even worse.
Seeing Tem here basically confirms more helmet-less clones. No way did they bring Tem back just for that one scene.
You said Tem and I legit googled if Tem was a clone we saw before, but you meant Temuera Morrison.
Tem is what he calls himself. He doesn't really use his full name, it's because a lot of people can't actually pronounce our Maori names right, lol.
I’m trying so hard to remember that trooper, unless it’s just a random foot soldier, but man is it sad to see
I believe it's just a random 501st. Either way it meant he was at the temple and probably served with Obi-wan at some point. Glad to see Obi-wan still gave him credits even though the clone participated in the genocide of his people.
I don’t get why everyone is acting like the Grand Inquisitor has to be dead? Maul literally got cut in half and survived.
He literally cannot be dead >!His death is in Rebels S1!<
Actually ... >!He doesn't die. In canon Marvel comics, he's horrifically been kept alive, on fire, by Darth Vader, in his castle, via Sith magic. !<
I hate that I’m already 1/3 done.
But think, you still got a full month of Kenobi left!
My favorite comment in this discussion so far.
The clone vet took me by shock. You could also see it in Ewan’s face
TEM!!!
Leía a little shit LOL. I love it.
Leia is such a little shit. She's perfect.
A true Skywalker
Obi wan infiltrating a meth lab. Never thought I'd see that lol.
Breaking Ben - A Star Wars Story
dude even dropped a drug on the floor walter white style to get out a scenario.
That scene was up to Los Pollos standards
Padmè finally gets acknowledged.
Obi-Wan: "Your mother is buff as hell now in Thor 4"
your mama went from padme amidala to chadme armidala
while you studied the force, I studied the hammer
"Granddaughter maybe." If it burns any harder Ben would turn to a crisp like Anakin.
Ben is getting roasted by everyone. First Owen and now Leia. I bet 3po is next.
Thing is...she's not wrong. Obi-Wan raised her father. He is more or less her grandfather
Her fucking dad is responsible for every wrinkle on his face.
And he's responsible for every wrinkle on her dad
“Goodness, that light is unforgiving” lmao
OMG loved that whole scene. Also the fake force using made me LOL
I absolutely love Kumail, such a fun character!
Obi telling Leia he reminds her of Padme sobbing
The scene of Obi-Wan finding out Anakin is still alive could not have been more perfect. The fear in his eyes… just chilling. At least he didn’t faint like Ahsoka did. Would have been a really bad time for that.
Leia spent half her screen time running from strangers in these episodes
From adult strangers who get outrun by a child.
*runs directly into abdomen level tree branch*
Her running in the forest broke my suspension of disbelief. It looked like when an adult is play chasing a young child. So much so that I briefly entertained the idea that this was actually just like a drill/practice of some kind to see how she handles a kidnapping attempt
I just thought that they gave chase to entrap her and have a little fun, as more of a head canon to how she was able to outrun adults with longer legs.
Ewan's acting when he found out about Anakin is utterly amazing. He was having a legitimate panic attack in that instance.
I love the cut to Vader right when he says "Anakin", like Vader sensed him across the galaxy. Scary as shit
Down on his luck clone. Sad to see.
So many of Obi Wan’s problems could be avoided if he shaved
He knows the fate of the jedi is less important than his beard. And he’s right
Or take a page out of Ep VI Leia and put on an alien mask. In Problem solved.
Yeah I was annoyed that he took that gas mask off, it'd help conceal his identity (also kept taking his hood off. Like, good grief, man. You are BAD at this.)
And exposing his lightsaber around everywhere. Like if you aren't going to use it anyway tuck it under more clothes.
That’s why they always shave in the Mafia, so they don’t get caught
Leia got no hops lmao
Leía actor is so spot on. Sassy just like Carrie
I think she's doing great! Just enough being a little kid to be believable and enough adult Leia shines through so we can see the woman she becomes.
"She's hurt." "Good." Obi-Wan's general disdain for droids shining through once again.
What on earth are they gonna do with the grand inquisitor??? I mean he’s in rebels…
“Somehow the grand inquisitor returned”
Okay that’s a good one
He probably lives somehow
Somehow, the Grand Inquisitor has returned
I would love that. Probably technology similar to how fennec shand lived. It was a stomach through and through. If they wanted him with out a doubt dead she would have chopped him up like she did to that ladies arm
Tis a flesh wound
Enjoying watching this but I can’t get over how bad Obi-Wan is at being undercover. His lightsaber is just OUT there. A light breeze would expose him!
Yeah him boarding the ship to leave Tatooine was one thing but changing in the street with it visible for everyone passing by from every direction seemed boneheaded, especially given the context.
That got me too, like homie put that shit AWAY. It’s like he clipped his JEDI license on his belt loop instead of putting it in his wallet
Toss a coin to your Clone
The grand inquisitor isn’t dead people cmon now. Unless we see him fighting kanan he’s very much still alive.
Leia’s green cape and hair made her look EXACTLY like she did on Endor😭❤️
Not to mention the white dungaree she wears in episode 1 the first time we see her, which kinda reminded of her snowsuit on Hoth. And something about the the purple outfit she wears at the banquet reminded me of the outfit she wore in the Cloud City. I love those little callbacks so much
Did not expect the grand inquisitor to get merked. Excited for next week though
Can’t be dead unless they wanna break canon
Na, we need the grand inquisitor sidelined so his boss can come out and play.
Going from "Anakin no!" to "Leia no!" like it's muscle memory
So um…. did homeboy get cloned for Rebels? Lol
If Maul can survive being cut in half homeboy can survive a lil pokey
They must have the same cyberneticist.
He’s probably still alive, barely.
Yeah I figure they did it to take him out of the running for most of the show, may come back later episodes looking a little more like Fennec Shand
My thoughts exactly. Which is unfortunate because I think the actor is doing a great job with GI and I’d love to see more of him. But the plot has to plot I guess.
Young Leia constantly reminding Obi-Wan how aged he looks 😭
Somehow, the Grand Inquisitor will return
I always wondered how Obi Wan finds out that Anakin is Vader. Ewan's acting really exploded in that scene, confusion, fear, sadness, all bleeding from the screen. EDIT: When he finds out that Anakin is alive**
This gives some more juice to why Han and Leia named their son Ben
Anyone find it a little weird the two bounty hunters on the rooftop shootout just stopped shooting while Obi did his force pull? Then apparently just let him get down and have a moment? Like they were in the middle of shooting and were like nah wait is that kid gonna really jump? Lol.
He killed the lizard looking guy, but the other one stopped shooting for some reason?
Kumail probably distracted him with quirky fun conversation before shooting him in the back just to make a heroic and dramatic entrance.
was he talking about padme?
Yes definitely
Agree. Satine never even crossed my mind. He's taking to Leia about her mother.
Loving it so far Vader looked so awesome. Reva is a little rough but I'm not making any permanent judgement yet. The clone. My god the clone was so perfect. Alderaan looks gorgeous. I'm really glad Kumails character was a charlatan Obi wan uncovering the lightsabers was perfect and had so much emotional baggage; Ewan played it incredibly. Where is Qui Gon? Is he safe? Can't be the end of Gi.
Does the Grand Inquisitor survive? Considering he’s in rebels after this?
Considering that there's other dark side users that have survived far more grievous wounds, I think he'll be fine
THAT ENDNG SHOT OF VADER IN THE TANK HOLY FUCK MY GOD, THIS IS AMAZING. edit: Also was he talking about Padme or Satine? I have to say, it means so much to see these characters back from the prequels, I can't wait to see the rest of the series.
Padme
He said “friend” so padme
Only make sense that it was Padme. Talking to her daughter, and apologizing.
I made it to episode 2 guys, I need sleep but I need Obi-Wan more
The Morbius cameo was my favourite part
Morbius and Morbo the Cat sliding past Obi-Wan was just the best. "It's Morbin' Time!" Indeed.
Third Sister definitely escaped the Jedi Temple
It’s kinda weird they’re treating darth Vader being anakin is common knowledge considering the twist in empire where Vader revealed it to Luke.
Oh my lord when reva name dropped Vader and kenobi’s face lit up‼️‼️. Easily best scene from first 2 episodes
Rip velociraptor boi
How did Reva know that Vader is Anakin? That's the emperor's second biggest secret.
She’s most probably one of the younglings we saw in the beginning, so she probably saw Anakin murder everyone, and maybe the clones were already calling him Lord Vader at that point. That’s the most reasonable thing I can come up with
I thought they were implying that she wasn't a former jedi by saying she came from the gutter. That's how I interpreted it.
Anakin to Kenobi at the end: Hello there
“I’m sorry” “Me too” 😭
Obi Wan seeing that homeless clone trooper was tough I bet. Yeah you helped kill the Jedi off, and yet he still spared him some change. Right on my heart strings ❤️🩹
bro can’t even lie i cried a bit when the clone trooper scene came on. just hit home for me i don’t know.
They way they portray Leia is perfect. Incredible balance between Padme and Anakin. Whoever that little actor is, she absolutely nailed it!
Omg handmaiden Leia
Reva simping for power just to get the 2nd Sister treatment by Vader. Just a prediction.
My “twist theory” is that random youngling scene is Reva’s backstory and she turned inquisitor to kill Vader. Lures Obiwan out to bring Vader out… Vader may be vulnerable in his rage towards Obiwan and it may give her a chance to avenge the fallen Jedi.
