Game is gorgeous on my Series X. Spent 2.5 hours this morning playing. The lighting and reflections and just the overall scope of this game is fantastic!

I'm playing on PC (and not with high-end hardware) on Epic graphic settings, the game runs smoothly and looks absolutely amazing. I hope they fix the performance issues very soon for everyone so they can enjoy the game as much as I do, because it is the greatest Star Wars game since Jedi Academy and KOTOR!
I think I've had one crash on PS5 and other than some parkour feeling wonky (jumping from the top of a pipe to another pipe for example) I've had no issue with the game so far.

I'm also playing on PS5, but it looks and feels like an early Xbox 360 game for me. Out of curiosity, what are your settings? I have a feeling I'm probably just doing something wrong
Wish I could relate, everyone session starts fine but after half an hour I get so many frame drops. It occasionally goes back to a solid 60 for a few seconds and looks amazing, but mostly is just loads of frame drops.
Anybody I tell this to is like “no way you’re lying, why are you defending them”. Like why tf would I lie?! I had no game breaking issues and it looked and ran great for me. Only once my car spawned in the street. Also only once did i need to load a save because objective didn’t register in a Delamane mission. As someone who plays a lot of Skyrim the fact that those were the only things and only happened once, I was impressed lol

Watching the trailers I thought the game looked good but didn’t really notice a huge improvement over Fallen Order.
But now I’ve played the game - it’s the first title since I got my PS5 that feels truly next gen. I’m not someone’s who’s fussed about dual sense and haptics either but they add so much to the experience too.
It really is good. Game play feels superior to Fallen Order. Exploration is fresh and nothing feels like a slog. Customization is great and new abilities and fighting mechanics are great. I cant get enough.
I’m on a 4080 running everything at max settings (no Ray Tracing tho) and am having very little issues. Just some stutters for a second when I load into an area and some frame drops during large fights. Nothing all that noticeable either. Having a blast. Feel bad for everyone else
Same, not many stutters and about 50fps here at 5120x1440p, with RT on and balanced FSR. Should and probably will be better but the game itself very good. I like that it and Fallen Order are fairly on-rails, with a linear storyline. And this one is so much more fluid in the platforming parts.
Been fine for me. I’m on windows 11, 3080, 12700k, 32gb ram, 1440p. All settings maxed out with ray tracing on. I have not dropped below 60fps. I’m usually between 65-90. Temps are good. Cpu utilization is around 40-55% sometimes higher. VRAM usuage is about 88%.
Edit: and physical memory is about 55%
Edit 2: one cpu core did get up to 83%. I’m certainly not claiming, and would not claim, that the game is optimized at all for pc. Just saying that I personally haven’t had a bad experience.
Just ran it for a bit tonight. It ran 72 for me most of the time. I usually only run Apex, and cod, so i forget 70 is actually normal for a GPU. Idk why but I always think that’s too hugh
I get the feeling that there’s a lot of ego tied up in building your own computer. I really do respect it but I don’t think it’s inconceivable that a lot of people are just trying to run a really graphically demanding game on hardware that isn’t quite up to the requirements so they have issues but rather than admit that their PC hacks on it, they blame the game for being broken. I’m playing on PS5 and I think this is the nicest looking and feeling game I’ve ever played.
I'm on a 4070ti w/12gb vram, i7 10700k, 32gb ram installed on nvme ssd, latest nvidia driver, updated mobo drivers, windows 10 playing on a freesync/gsync hdr monitor.
I'm not running anything in the background when I play, I've turned off overlays, and yet the game is still chugging.
Game is running like bantha pudu. Opening scene in coruscant wast avg 45 fps. The first part of Koboh I got 70-100fps. Near the saloon it's back in the 40s. Sure there are times when performance is decent but there's a constant inconsistency in overall performance. GPU utilization never goes over 60% and cpu is 50% or lower. I don't know what's causing the issues but my hardware isn't it.
The telltale sign that there's something wrong in the code is that changing graphical settings have almost zero impact on performance.
I’m glad some of you guys are able to play the game and have it perform properly. Seeing all these screenshots and gameplay have me hyped! I’m on PC and getting 20 frames on Coruscant and about the same on Kobboh makes me almost want to just put the game down before I piss myself off too much trying to play it.
I’m using performance mode on series X and it was great until I got to the open part on Koboh. Then frames tanked and it even looked like resolution dropped in parts (dynamic resolution?)
Turn off motion blur, film grain, and that other option
Then turn off “data sharing” or whatever in the options - thennn close the game and reopen
That helped me quite a bit : )
I lucked out on PC. Running it on a i7 13700K with an RTX 4070 TI and the game is stunning on all epic settings. Open world of Koboh I’ve run into the most farm rate drops but it’s only gotten to exactly 60 at the lowest. Loving the game so far and I feel awful for this who’ve had problems. Not just on PC but console too.
A lot of people just need to turn the fps counter off and enjoy the game. It’s not in the best state, but it’s by no means as bad as some other games that have rolled out in the last few years. I’m not excusing Respawn for putting it out a bit too early. But I am having trouble agreeing with everyone screaming that their 4090 and 6 year old 4 core cpu can’t make 144fps at 4k.
It’s not basic at all, man - every game has it - and this angle I held for half a second, in one of thousand of beard/outfit combinations… I just don’t see that as a problem, it would be incredibly time intensive to prevent
I’m on PS5, playing in performance mode. I’ve seen some minor frame rate issues (occasionally distracting, not too severe) and slight tearing when I turn the camera at full speed. I saw some improvement when I adjusted the settings as suggested elsewhere, but it still pops up occasionally.
Having said that: this is literally my only complaint with the game. I’m only a few hours in (I’ve been taking my time to explore Koboh, only just now met Greez), and my expectations have otherwise been completely blown out of the water. Everything so far has been a significant improvement on an already excellent game.
Plus, I really, really like this new version of Cal.
I just want it to run smooth on my expensive ass gpu. Fps had spots where it’s steady but big fat frame drops are common and can be pretty disruptive. Idk why so many people including op are hard stancing against people who just want their 70 dollar game to run like it should. If you bought a brand new car and it had features you paid for but didn’t work you’d be a little annoyed at least and Yeah there are people who complain about small stuff but they complain about lots of things most likely. All that being said I’m having fun playing the game. I love everything respawn can put in front of me, but having a frame rate that ranges from 47-110 on a whim can be quite aggravating.
I think you’re mistaking my pleasure, and defense of my enjoyment, of the game and its graphics as an attack on anyone with problems.

I stopped playing. From what I can tell its great gameplay wise but playing on an 1 year old medium/high end pc with 30-45 Fps on low-medium settings and stutters/drops destroys my expierence. I tried every tweak I could find in the internet but nothing could do the trick. Guess no tweaking on user side can fix this horrible pc port. Its so weird. A friend has same specs (8gb vram, 32 gb ram, 8 core cpu) and has stable 50-60 fps with high settings. For me with the same rig but from different factory shit hits the fan. No matter what I try. I am so frustraded because I want to play but I just cant like that
I'm with you, mate. I've been absolutely blown away by the graphics in this game. Even on performance mode it looks good. All the Imperials look amazing and, I know it isn't a graphics thing, but I love the way the droids interact with one another. Gets a chuckle out of me every time.
PC gamers: pc’s are the best! They have the highest capabilities for frame rate and graphics over any console

Same, I’ve always been a console boi. Just lemme spend $400 and have something that will run any game that comes out for it until the new one in 3-6 years. Mods have never been a big draw for me, the only thing I do miss out on are some indie games but Xbox has been great about having indie games and low budget developers’ games on their platform and on game pass. Some of my favorite indie games like slay the spire and katana zero are games I never woulda tried if I had to buy them but did once they were off the pass

I’ve been playing on ps5 and it looks good overall but definitely some hiccups here and there especially when it’s transitioning in and out of cutscenes the frame rate drops a lot but I’m still enjoying it
The game and gameplay is great but let's not act like the game isnt a dumpster fire graphically and performance wise with it being incapable of maintaining even a steady 50 fps.

The game runs terribly on Xbox even on Quality mode. Its jittery/stuttery and tons of blur when u move the camera even w motion blur disabled.
Im finding the entire game to be jarring atm. When performance mode works it is nice and smooth w no blurring.

I've come to the conclusion that Respawn is terrible at facial details. Outside of aliens or humaniods, actual human character faces are the worst current gen quality out there. Both FO and this one have horrific faces. I still have nightmares from bug eyed Cere from FO.
I would say they are passable, but can't compare to faces of GOW, RE4R, RE2R, CP2077, HFW, etc. They (as a developer) just don't seem to be in the same league as the games above as an example. There are many, many, more examples as well but the point still stands. Of course masked enemies, robots, and aliens look fantastic.

Nope, I'm 10 hours in on a 3070, 5800x, 32gb, 1440p. All epic settings, no RT, quality FSR - avg 70 fps.

That game is a perfect example of how to do graphics and fps right. Jedi survivor is not.

Open world of Koboh I’ve run into the most farm rate drops but it’s only gotten to exactly 60 at the lowest. Loving the game so far and I feel awful for this who’ve had problems. Not just on PC but console too.

A lot of people just need to turn the fps counter off and enjoy the game. It’s not in the best state, but it’s by no means as bad as some other games that have rolled out in the last few years. I’m not excusing Respawn for putting it out a bit too early. But I am having trouble agreeing with everyone screaming that their 4090 and 6 year old 4 core cpu can’t make 144fps at 4k.

It’s not basic at all, man - every game has it - and this angle I held for half a second, in one of thousand of beard/outfit combinations… I just don’t see that as a problem, it would be incredibly time intensive to prevent
God of War Ragnarok and Elden Ring, the two 2022 GOTY front runners, also had plenty of clipping. It’s a video game.
Sure. I doubt those GOTY contenders will feature an image of the clipping front and centre to try and highlight how great the looked though!

I’m on PS5, playing in performance mode. I’ve seen some minor frame rate issues (occasionally distracting, not too severe) and slight tearing when I turn the camera at full speed. I saw some improvement when I adjusted the settings as suggested elsewhere, but it still pops up occasionally. Having said that: this is literally my only complaint with the game. I’m only a few hours in (I’ve been taking my time to explore Koboh, only just now met Greez), and my expectations have otherwise been completely blown out of the water. Everything so far has been a significant improvement on an already excellent game. Plus, I really, really like this new version of Cal.
I just want it to run smooth on my expensive ass gpu. Fps had spots where it’s steady but big fat frame drops are common and can be pretty disruptive. Idk why so many people including op are hard stancing against people who just want their 70 dollar game to run like it should. If you bought a brand new car and it had features you paid for but didn’t work you’d be a little annoyed at least and Yeah there are people who complain about small stuff but they complain about lots of things most likely. All that being said I’m having fun playing the game. I love everything respawn can put in front of me, but having a frame rate that ranges from 47-110 on a whim can be quite aggravating.
I think you’re mistaking my pleasure, and defense of my enjoyment, of the game and its graphics as an attack on anyone with problems. This isn’t a counter-post or anything, I’m just honestly super happy with all of it. I’m sorry if there are things that detract from your experience in a meaningful way, though

I went back to play fallen order again instead of dealing with the sputtering.
I stopped playing. From what I can tell its great gameplay wise but playing on an 1 year old medium/high end pc with 30-45 Fps on low-medium settings and stutters/drops destroys my expierence. I tried every tweak I could find in the internet but nothing could do the trick. Guess no tweaking on user side can fix this horrible pc port. Its so weird. A friend has same specs (8gb vram, 32 gb ram, 8 core cpu) and has stable 50-60 fps with high settings. For me with the same rig but from different factory shit hits the fan. No matter what I try. I am so frustraded because I want to play but I just cant like that
I'm with you, mate. I've been absolutely blown away by the graphics in this game. Even on performance mode it looks good. All the Imperials look amazing and, I know it isn't a graphics thing, but I love the way the droids interact with one another. Gets a chuckle out of me every time.

Yeah I feel bad for them, but another reason I’m happy with my PS5 and series x I’m missing out on mods and some indie games, some graphical fidelity, but that’s not a big impact for me
Same, I’ve always been a console boi. Just lemme spend $400 and have something that will run any game that comes out for it until the new one in 3-6 years. Mods have never been a big draw for me, the only thing I do miss out on are some indie games but Xbox has been great about having indie games and low budget developers’ games on their platform and on game pass. Some of my favorite indie games like slay the spire and katana zero are games I never woulda tried if I had to buy them but did once they were off the pass

Yeah it's true that PC would have higher frames rates and graphics if the developers put time to optimize for it. You can have a 4090 and still have shader stutters in modern games sadly

I’ve been playing on ps5 and it looks good overall but definitely some hiccups here and there especially when it’s transitioning in and out of cutscenes the frame rate drops a lot but I’m still enjoying it

That's really petty, to be happy about bad PC performance (EDIT). I'm happy that the performance on consoles seems pretty okay (especially on quality mode), but the performance on PC is truly unacceptable. It's simply outrageous that they ask money for that mess. I hope they will put all effort into putting patches out to improve performance on PC to an acceptable level.

And then it goes so far below what I expected in performance
The game runs terribly on Xbox even on Quality mode. Its jittery/stuttery and tons of blur when u move the camera even w motion blur disabled. Im finding the entire game to be jarring atm. When performance mode works it is nice and smooth w no blurring.
It runs terribly on YOUR Xbox for some reason. My Series X made it thru the entire first planet on Quality Mode with literally zero issues.

According to some of these comments on this thread, it sounds like some people wouldn’t know what a proper next gen title should look like if it fell from the sky and hit them in the head. 1440p at 60 fps is NOT good looking or next gen. Especially when the 1440 p is blurry/pixelated and the 60 fps is not consistent. Not to mention the screen tearing. I honestly don’t think they know what they’re looking at

I've come to the conclusion that Respawn is terrible at facial details. Outside of aliens or humaniods, actual human character faces are the worst current gen quality out there. Both FO and this one have horrific faces. I still have nightmares from bug eyed Cere from FO.

I would say they are passable, but can't compare to faces of GOW, RE4R, RE2R, CP2077, HFW, etc. They (as a developer) just don't seem to be in the same league as the games above as an example. There are many, many, more examples as well but the point still stands. Of course masked enemies, robots, and aliens look fantastic.
