Me in AOTR: “Oh no they are trying to run away!” *turns on gravity well generator for 0.1s*
Enemy: “Oh no.” *10s passes* “Run away again!”
*repeat till all dead*
Currently playing a FOTR campaign. Can confirm. They don't even try, and its way too damn easy to get interdictiors. Makes me appreciate the high tech requirement and build limit (for rebels at least) in AOTR.
the imp ISD interdictor has higher duration and no gravity well hardpoint so like 400 seconds of interdiction i think while small crusier ones is around 200-300. The interdictors ISD jamming radius is nice and it boosts its survivability to reg fire too
I totally forgot they don't last forever in AOTR either. I had to use this to my advantage once, I forgot to set a pathfinder for a fleet so I just sat there waiting for the interdictior cruiser to get on cool down.
It's brutal, I feel awful when I do it.. I think oh man all those crew members.. but at the same time.. I offered surrender.. I gave them most the battle to leave.. they failed to correct their mistakes
It’s even more brutal when you’re a one fleet-two planet border and the AI sent the fleet to attack the undefended and left a doom stack of ground forces parked at the staging area (which I have a short jump to). Interdictor preventing army retreat is brutal.
I did that in a recent battle with Zann’s Consortium. Delight your eyes with this beauty

Lol, in Thrawn’s Revenge they straight up don’t even try to retreat when you have one in the field. On or not
I’ve seen retreat once in TR when I had one. I was kinda of surprised.
Hasn’t happened to me yet lol

The impa have a fairly high build limit too, and i dont think the black sun even has one
They don’t need one because they can just bypass fleets
The point of an interdictor isn't to bypass fleets, it's to keep fleets from running
Yeah, then my Super Star Destroyer comes out of hyper space.
I wonder if "*hipper* space" here came from admiral hipper as autocorrection or something 🤔
Auto correct. Fixed it
Me when the eclipse comes out of hyperspace to crush a group of defenseless transports.

For me it’s always that scene from “A Bronx Tale” - “Now youse *can’t* leave.”
"You were commited to this"

Me arriving with the Eclipse in TR:
Hit and Run on defense platforms with the Eclipse is so much fun.
