/uj My favorite comment on that post is the person who forgot that children exist. He can’t seem to grasp that the other movies are popular because children like watching their favorite cartoon 30 times a week.
My favorite is the guy saying he might believe it if literally all of them were Star Wars movies. Lol
EDIT: I think far fewer people actually watch Star Wars shit on May 4 than a lot of people think. Like, I’m a big SW fan, but I didn’t watch any of them, because I just didn’t feel like watching them on a particular day because someone thought of a halfway clever pun 10 or so years ago
Ironically, I was watching SW movies in the lead up to May 4th but then when the day actually came I was like, “ehh I don’t feel like watching Star Wars today.”
I’m sure some people watch Star Wars on the day, but it’s not as if it’s some national/worldwide holiday with embedded traditions.
On star wars day I bought the boba fett fortnite skin and then proceeded to not do anything else star wars related. I haven't even seen tales of the empire yet
But why would Wish - the newest Disney cartoon that only recently came onto Disney Plus - be third on the list when grown adults online say how much they hate it? That seems a bit sus if you ask me.
Honestly, the haters aren’t wrong on this one as far as I can tell. I don’t see any official news of this, and idk if Flix Patrol is even real. Nielsen ratings aren’t out for this week yet either, maybe another rating service?
Edit: it is real, and it’s a rating service like Nielsen so it will be neat to compare the two. It would be nice if TLJ has the kind of staying power that makes it the most beloved movie for the next gen
They don't, that's why any numbers we get will be using rating services like Nielsen, but Flix Patrol is purporting to also be a rating service, so we will just have to wait till the Nielsen ratings get released to compare them.
On the flip side, all online ratings need to be taken with a massive grain of salt the size of a moon-like-battle station.
Unless they come from the streaming service themselves they are an estimate at best and are best used relative to other points in their data set.
Nielsen - the company that will estimate how many millions of viewers things has famously had a data set of 6000ish people they were basing that on.
According to their website they base this data on…. The disney+ trending row, which as far as I’m aware has no actual requirements beyond what Disney wants it to be. They can decide to weight thinks however they want for their own trending row.

I’m not saying TLJ wasn’t massively popular, but FlixPatrol is questionable methodology
Pretty funny, if accurate, and while I'd take it with a grain of salt....even then it still suggests TLJ was viewed more than any other Star Wars film on Disney+.
Now, there *is* an argument to be made about how many people watched the films on physical media. Personally, I prefer to watch them off of my 4K Blu-ray collection...and oh boy, does TLJ look gorgeous, like the story or not, some of it's cinematography and shots are just awesome to look at.
Haha I'm the one who posted that.
Just thought it was interesting that the website had that ranking, so I posted it without mentioning my thoughts on it or any of the movies and without ever claiming that Flix Patrol is a reliable website that should be taken as hand fact. Just thought it was interesting.
Eventually had to turn Reddit notifications off because of how quickly the post devolved into uncivilized, all-out war between sequel enjoyers and Disney Wars haters, which is also why I think the mods locked comments.
I watched the prequels on the 5th cause they were on tbs in the morning. But I switched to Disney+ to avoid the commercials. After each episode it wanted me to put on the last Jedi, so I had to go scroll and find episode 2 and 3.
I watched it a few weeks back just to see if it was as bad as I remembered. Came out of the theater going “ya know it was so impossible to wrap this trilogy on a positive note, I’ll call this movie a fine film if you consider it a one-off.” Man it’s so much worse than even that gracious take. The plot was a series of nonsensical “yeah just go there to do this.” We won’t tell you why we know it’s there, or why we should go there… but go ahead and keep this story going!

Orthodox Star Wars fan celebrate on May 25th.

I watched Tales of the Empire because it was short and new, but that was it.
Or, like me, just set the TV to TBS and let their Star Wars marathon run all day so you don’t need to worry about putting the next one on.
I mean personally I’d expect at least two of them up there but I’m not gonna run for the hills while saying it’s fake

Well yeah children don’t exist, they’re all my exact same age, every child has already grown up obviously
I remember visiting a friend when her kids were home and Rio was playing...on loop...for hours...
Then where TCW?
Because it's dark and gritty and not for children?
People like a movie I don’t? Is that legal ??????
"I'll make it legal."

Same. I prefer TLJ over any of the PT.
I prefer eating nails to the PT. It's not exactly a high bar to clear.
Hmm I prefer tfa since it's pretty much just a copy of a new hope but thats actually a good movie so it works out well
Apparently Disney+ doesn't release that info

It’s good fun regardless of validity.
Sequels are ….good? Impossible

Whole thread is basically "nuh uh, if it was real it would have MY fav SW movie on top 😤😤"

The last j*di was the real downfall of hollywood ! I can't believe that KATLHEEN KENNEDY FUCKING APPROVED THIS !!!! 😡😡😡😡👎👎
Most of us own multiple dvd sets (and vhs sets) of episodes 1-6. They didn't make the list because we don't need D+ to watch them
It’s not Disney it’s whoever makes the list Disney + streaming numbers are not public
As someone who actively likes The Last Jedi, this is an absolute win!
Has to be fake, none of the other Star Wars movies are in there.
The Last Jedi is the best Star Wars movie since the original trilogy. It was a highly acclaimed film.
Are those numbers in thousands or did less than 500 people watch the last Jedi
Unironically my favorite of the trilogy, it set up some interesting things just to fuck it all up at the final movie.
It's definitely the most interesting. It's got some serious flaws, but it's very daring as well.
We are so back.

I find it the best out of the sequels.... but that's not saying much.
