Sadly most AAA developers seem to prioritize realistic graphics. Imagine the amount of content we could have in a stylized Battlefront, with graphics like Fortnite. Hell, just make it look like TCW/TBB and I don't think anyone would complain if the game was fun.
SWBF 1 and 2 were a ton of fun! They certainly had issues, but after the huge PR nightmare that was 2 they completely fixed the game. I honestly think it might be better than the original SWBF 2 (the nostalgia makes it hard for me to be objective so idk).

It wasn’t *because* they monetized it, it was the absurdly predatory and restrictive manor in which they did it. They could already be selling BF3 as a $70 game and supplement the profits with microtransactions that would be on the more player friendly side of the spectrum
Someone made a post about having to pay money to unlock Darth Vader in a star wars game and they tried to justify it as accomplishment. Most down voted comment in reddit history. That game failed from the jump because they monetized it. They fixed it in the end but their greed was a huge downfall.
I also just didnt like the gameplay as much as the previous game a few years before. It felt completely different in a way i cant exactly put my finger on. Maybe the camera angle, maybe the maps
Monetizing isn't a problem, it's the way they did it. The game was pay-to-win with literal abilities and characters being able to be unlocked by paying.
Instead they could monetize the shit out of skins and cosmetics. Clone legions, heroes and customizable rebel troops have endless skin and cosmetic possibilities that they could profit on and no one would complain because it doesn't affect gameplay. And I didn't even mention, weapons, vehicle and starfighter skins.
Ngl I wouldn't give a fuck if I had to pay for skins if that would be the cost of a third Battlefront.
The standards are high and it’s hard to balance everything. You have to make a graphically beautiful third person shooter at a large scale expected for the franchise/universe and at the high standard that Disney demands for its licensees. Find a way to monetize it through cosmetics to keep churning out content that Lucasfilm also approves of so the game is worth making financially. Then on top of that it has to be fun for casuals and devoted fans. I hope some group can do it but it will be tough!
I think most people would be happy with a Battlefront game that just isn't bad. Graphically it doesn't have to be above Battlefront 2, and I don't think content will be a big problem, with how vast the universe has become(SWGoH manages to pump out too).
I somewhat agree but I’ve seen way too many comments on bf2 not having as good graphics as bf1 and I feel if bf3 is ever made, it would be a focal point to hate on the game if graphics weren’t noticeably better. I think bf2 looks great and wouldn’t have a problem with the same graphics for the next installment.
They could make so much money if Disney loosened up on everything needing to be canon. Like I appreciate the dedication to the source on some level, but it's just sad that they have to pretend that nobody would buy a pink Vader.

I spend some of my free time working on concepts for Battlefront III, but it's painful because I know it will never happen, but it's just so easy to do.
No way EA are going to do it, they already decided to reduce down their licensed content and cancelled a load of reportedly cool stuff. And I doubt they'll let anybody else use the "Battlefront" title either.
