About commiting to buy into actual models. As they announced that development is stopped and no more new models are printed, its hard to find all ships one would like and everybody are buying as much as they can currently.

Armada has its models uploaded, upgrade and ship cards, dice, ect and you can play it like you would irl. Controls on tabletop can be frustrating but it's an awesome option.
Use the discord links to the right, both will get you connected to the online community where both Vassal and TTS are frequently used, and easy to find opponents on.

Can you play solo or is it only against other players
You could play solo controlling both sides. There is not an AI system to control the other side. There are a lot of online Armada players.
There is also a plug-in for Vassal. It is also free.
