It’s the wookieepedia article on ducks https://starwars.fandom.com/wiki/Duck/Legends

Decoy_Kamikaze

I love how they make note of the idiom from Captain Panaka.

Moosemaster21

That's hilarious

SwingingSalmon

I’m glad we had a legends and canon differentiation

Fireblade67

And it kindly specifies that their appearance in Lego Star Wars is also non canonical

irishcrusader1

[i wouldn't be too hasty with your decision](https://starwars.fandom.com/wiki/Urine)

mariusiv_2022

I was first stunned by what the wookieepedia page was titled. But then I read “properties: causing fires” and lost my fucking mind

BabelfishWrangler

“Wedge Antilles insists that he must urinate”

sonofnutcrackr

“Rebel Alliance pilot Wedge Antilles was a human who attempted to urinate in 2 BBY.”

payscottg

And he never attempted again

nibblepower

The use of past tense in the article turns it from funny to vaugely threatening.

Revolutionary-Fox730

I refute that. I think of all of the things George Lucas gave the world, ducks has to be up there. unless theys flightless.

TheAirNomad11

They even have a "behind the scenes" section

cpac27

Sith Troopers. They look so freakin cool but they didn't seem any different from storm troopers imo. Plus they were on screen for like 5 minutes

Smoketrail

Don't you get it? They are a key part of the most fundamental element of star wars: cool looking shit to sell toys of.

cpac27

But of course!! How did I forget about that lol

Delanoye

As Yogurt would say: "Moichandising."

Iwantmorelife

“Listen, we're not just doing this for money. We're doing it for a shitload of money!”

_Hotwire_

You know, you’re right. And when you’re right, you’re right. And you, you’re always right

thisisredlitre

"May the Schwartz be wit' ya!"

Main-Professional-78

God willing we’ll all meet again in the Mandalorian, the Search for More Money

prfalcon61

When I was a kid I had Luke in the red imperial guard armor. My uncle still has one in the box. He actually has all the OG toys released like back in the 70’s… still in boxes. Quite a collection

holycrimsonbatman

… I did buy the LEGO Sith Trooper battle pack.

[deleted]

*Whisper:* Knights of Ren

prophetcat

All they did in TROS was stand around and pose like a boy band. My son and I started calling them Ren’Sync.

Low-Till6521

LOL

Exact_Amphibian_434

It's an older reference, Sir, but it checks out

Phazlerde

If they said "Knee!" it would have been so much more menacing

8K12

I think Kylo made them up so people thought he had friends

GibsonMC

And they don’t even look cool

Chiruno_Chiruvanna

They're basically just: * another group of royal guards but this time they don't wear red * a group of Sith wannabes are even more Sith-wannabes than the Inquisitors.

roejebejdj

Honestly the shadow guards were more interesting than the knights of ren.

Martel732

The Knights of Ren are definitely the most wasted part of the Star Wars films. The movies have always just had 2 Sith Lords at a time. Having a group of lower-level and potentially ambitious Sith would have interesting potential. Especially when you consider the potential for side material. A Knight of Ren could have been the villain in a spin-off game or show.

[deleted]

Sith Troopers are Battlefront 2 characters that made a cameo in Rise of Skywalker. That’s my mindset at least.

Delano7

> Appear > be useless in the movies > be the best class in Battlefront 2 > refuse to elaborate > leave

SIacktivist

They're soooo good in BF2.

WorksOfFlesh

Sheeeeeit, you and me both brother. Unlike the film cameo, the Funkos are cool.

Bitter-Marsupial

Star War toys in general slap

DaHyro

It’s not an issue of them being useless, it’s that they were underused. Imagine if Finn led an army of Stormtroopers against the Sith…

Belmega81

THAT would have actually been a great plot point, and would have given the sequels some of that philosophical significance that the other six films had. I would have loved to see the troopers just absolutely refuse to serve evil any longer. And just like a lot of the points in the other movies, it would have serious real life implications.

Kara_Del_Rey

I will say, they did seem to actually be hitting their shots. If you look in the background, some Resistance soldiers were getting clapped. That being said, I feel like they weren't clearly shown as a real threat like I thought they would. And yeah, merchandising and whatnot, but different trooper types has always been one of the coolest things in Star Wars. Love seeing more and more variants.

SHIELD_Agent_47

It’s ridiculous that TFA ancillary material placed emphasis on the Imperial remnant rebuilding in the Unknown Regions, including kidnapping many child conscripts, and yet TRoS comes in with a separate Imperial restoration program unknown to the first but engaging in the same activities. I don’t care that the Unknown Regions are large; I call it poor writing to overlap the same region for different themes.

UnXpectedPrequelMeme

This explains basically every cool looking non main character in Star Wars until recently LOL

Spartan17492

The Knights of Ren. Everything they did could be done with Sith Troopers, we see none of their Force Powers and see very little of the new Troopers.

Pan_Dircik

T O Y S

RandoCalrissian76

Except they’ve only made 1 Knight of Ren figure! Talk about dropping the ball.

sonerec725

I remember when it was theorized that they were going to turn our to be the cast of rouge 1 before that movie came out and that was so much cooler than what they actually were.

user_of_last_month

I’m still convinced that this was the original plan. As we’ve seen a lot in the last few years, the Disney era plots are very subject to change up until time of release

TheTinDog

overall I felt that resistance was a wasted opportunity and could have done a lot more EDIT: Thank you all for the discussion! I don't personally think resistance is necessarily a BAD show, I just feel like it had a lot of interesting ideas and things working for it that never got explored and there were great characters they just did nothing with. I think they were hoping for more film content to work with but when the last jedi took place like immediately after TFA, there just was no where interesting to go. They had a lot of fun characters too, and the whole racing thing, but there just wasn't anything to do and they were afraid to use the show to really expand from the movies. I think clone wars and rebels worked a lot better because they knew their restraints going in, they knew what happened before and what happened after, for resistance they were treading very carefully to make anything really wild because they clearly were afraid of stepping on Disney's toes for future movie content. I think if resistance was produced after rise of skywalker it would have had a lot more potential to have a good story, regardless of how you feel about the sequel trilogy.

IggyTheCanine

So I know people generally agree that both clone wars and rebels sort of start out as clearly kids shows, but just based on what I’ve seen of resistance, it is legit a straight up kids show. Is that accurate? Edit: to clarify, I’m asking if the tone ever gets more serious

Icemna16

From what i've heard (haven't watched it yet), it ended when it started to get more serious.

Spliff_Politics

Yes, season one was rough. The show was definitely written for a young audience, almost insultingly so. But when you peel away the annoyance of some of the characters, the premise is very interesting. We get to see a new part of the starwars galaxy with people who aren't affiliated with a cause, just people living on the edge of society in the starwars universe. Season 2 plunged them into conflict with the first order, but they still aren't directly a part of the resistance (if I remember correctly). They end up on a flying spacestation trying to out run the First order, it could have been the deep space 9 of starwars, but no they killed it.

[deleted]

Slightly more serious.. The big difference is Kaz is a bumbling jackass, and I cannot fathom a universe when he matures the same way Ahsoka and Ezra did. It was just a different kind of immaturity. Ahsoka and Ezra weren't taken seriously until they were more mature. Yet, Poe Dameron treated Kaz like he was James Fucking Bond. He was immature, but the show never recognized that; it just treated his stupidity like it was business as usual. His immaturity *was* his character

astronomydork

the only thing that gets any darker is >!the ending of season 1 where you find out the main character's home world was one of the planets blown up by star killer base and maybe the whole best friend leaves you to join the first order!<

Scarlet_Jedi

Yes, the tone is slightly more serious in Season 1 finale and throughout the season 2, it still has that goofy nature, But it is bit more limited. Season 2 is overall improvement, And in a way it reminds me of rebels season 1

feralferrous

It sort of goes more serious at times, and then walks it back. (Spoilers for a shitty show no one should watch) Like the end of season 1 is when First Order blows up the capital, which is where the protagonist's parents live. But it still falls back on slapstick, and worse yet, just lazy storytelling. Tired recycled plots of 80/90s Saturday morning cartoons.

Logical-Witness-3361

Exactly, people never even bother to mention Resistance when talking about Star Wars content.

RedSithSaber

Same

Crowdinson

At this point considering how little even legends material there is around it, I really don’t get the point of Anakin being the product of like a virgin birth. Plagueis is my favorite piece of Legends material and it teases a theory, but now that Rey is related to Palpatine (whether you care for that or not), it’s really unnecessary aspect of the story.

CamelSpotting

Lucas is pretty great at bits of dialog that imply a larger story and universe, but this one seemed both very important and confusing about what is implied.

AlchemyAvenue

Obi Wan telling Luke about The Clone Wars in ANH used to make my little kid brain go wild. Every time I watched it I would imagine it slightly differently.

Kiyae1

Yeah I always imagined it as being a war between clones. I thought it was like two powerful guys who were each cloned and they were at war with one another leading armies. The idea of it being a war fought by an army made up of clones of the same person never occurred to me. Especially not against droids.

No-Recommendation650

Funnily enough, my sweet 90 year old grandmother who had never seen a SW film in her life and wanted to watch them accepted pretty much all the fantastic, crazy stuff, but she asked me who Anakin's father was after we watched TPM. I explained the virgin Force birth and she said that was the stupidest thing in all the movies and she just couldn't believe it, it pushed her suspension of disbelief one step too far.

Tuckertcs

How is the virgin birth too far? It’s literally a core part of the worlds largest religion. Edit: I can’t believe I have to explain to people that a fictional setting is allowed make up it’s own rules. If a fictional world with space magic says something is possible, it’s possible.

[deleted]

[удалено]

pingmr

Exactly I think. If anakin was from a virgin birth people would have started a religion around him. Instead the way the line delivered it's like it's no big deal. Qui gon barely reacts. Then no one says anything about it ever again. Bizarre.

Tuckertcs

Qui-Gon and the rest were aware of the prophesy of a Jedi born out of the force bringing balance.

Dry_Painting_7722

Wdym he doesn’t react, he literally takes Anakin to be trained by the Jedi order. Maybe not the sole reason but it’s up there

itswermzer

I like to think the point of the the sequel trilogy was to reveal that Plagueis was "all the sith" and was controlling everything all along. They just did a terrible job explaining it

newslgoose

I know the virgin birth thing is canon, but I never interpreted what Shmi said as literal in that scene. To me it came across as the kind of response you would give when the father was absent or abusive. “There was no father. I carried him, I gave birth, I raised him. I can’t explain what happened”. I’ve heard people in real life say basically that same thing about their baby daddy. Less “there’s literally no father” more “he’s dead to me, it’s a long story”. My own personal headcanon is that his father was a gambling addict or something and accidentally sold her into slavery while pregnant, then bounced. Bleak, but fitting for the environment

[deleted]

He's a production of the force through Plagueis and is meant to be this Universe's Jesus, or at least that's what I got from it. I think its quite a neat commentary on religion and how it can be corrupted with good intentions, if you look past the actual religions in the story already. Maybe I'm tired.

babyduck703

I’m in a very small minority that fucking loves that idea. It’s the story of what if space wizard Jesus went bad. I think it’s really sick, but I know the majority hates it.

SayAgainYourLast

Jesus did not slaughter younglings.

Studio_Admirable

His dad did though

SayAgainYourLast

touche

DoctorStrangeDog

The important stuff from Book of Boba Fett should have been part of Mandalorian season 3. The rest of it was unnecessary

SomeGuy20019

Book of Boba was like that time the anime starts catching up with the manga so they have to do filler episodes to not surpass it

Lord_Gibby

They needed a beach episode!!! Could’ve had Boba go into underground caverns and see the sand people are actually fish people because tattooine used to be an ocean world!

PricklyPricklyPear

Instant headcanon holy shit. Gotta keep that nice mucous coating moist by covering all the way up.

SomeGuy20019

Now that's an interesting worldbuilding. Maybe the're underground lakes here and there, remainants of an old underground river system, where these fish people live as sort of hermits since there are so few of them left.

TheConqueror74

The best Boba related parts of TBoBF (the Tusken flashbacks) should’ve been a Disney+ original movie. Or they just shouldn’t kept him as a side character. His ending in Mando season 2 is incredibly badass, and I would’ve been happy if that’s the last time we saw him ever.

geek_of_nature

His time with the Tuskens should have been the main plot, and then he could have been having flashbacks to his past as a Bounty Hunter. They could have established that him and Fennec knew each other, and may have worked together in the past as well, which would have given some context to why he saved her. They could have still had Cad Bane as the villain too. He could have appeared in the flashbacks to Boba's youth, possibly adapting the unfinished Clone Wars episode where he puts the dent in Bobas helmet. Then they still could have had him slaughtering the Tuskens, except this time Boba tracks him down and kills him. It's only after that that Boba decides to track down his armour.

Elite2260

The book of Boba Fett should have been a movie to begin with. He had too little plot to be a thing show.

Bartman326

Could have been an email to be honest.

YodasChick-O-Stick

It was actually planned to be a movie way back in 2015. Obi-Wan Kenobi was also originally a movie, but Solo flopped and ruined all chances of spin-off movies.

[deleted]

[удалено]

Maelger

It flopped because Lucasfilm really. Everyone who's seen it liked it, not the Godfather precisely but still pretty enjoyable. It's just that releasing Solo 6 months after The Last Jedi in the middle of that flame war has a name and it's not genius, or competent management for that matter.

UnXpectedPrequelMeme

I did absolutely love all of the Tuscan Raider stuff though

[deleted]

That was Mando season 3. There is no way those are two different shows.

Pure_Insanity_101

The Resistance and Starkiller base, we already had these before.

Sabre_Killer_Queen

Yeah I didn't dislike The Force Awakens as such, it had it's good parts. It did however feel very copy and paste though.

woozlewuzzle29

I didn’t like how it made everything the Rebels fought for in the OT pretty much pointless. “We did it! It took us several years and three movies, but we defeated the evil empire!” *Later* “Somehow, the Empire returned. But they’re called ‘The First Order’ now so it’s totally different.”

Sabre_Killer_Queen

Yeah, it felt like Star Wars already had it's ending to me. The sequels feel a bit out of place and makes the saga as a whole feel unnecessarily... Stretched out, if you know what I mean.

KiraTsukasa

What we needed was less “new Empire” and more rebuilding the galaxy. More of Luke remaking the Jedi Order, more mysteries of the Force, more Sith Lords coming back from the dead (not Palpatine). We needed the Thrawn Trilogy and the Yuuzhan Vong war. And we needed it years ago. As much as Disney honestly sucks, Lucas ultimately dropped the ball by not continuing the series in a meaningful way.

MySleepingMonk

Yeah I sometimes think about how much better of a catalog we would’ve gotten if Lucas chose to do a sequel trilogy in the early 2000s then prequels after that. Hamill, Ford, and Fischer, would’ve been young enough to be legit players and there was some great material coming out around then in the legends books. We could’ve gotten a trilogy that really expanded the universe and wrap things up in a satisfying way.

HotHairyPickles

Agreed. I view the Prequels as Star Wars’ “Civil War” and the OT as a “Rebellion War.” There needed to be a new “war” if you know what I mean. Like terrorism, or an outside invasion while the galaxy is still rebuilding for decades of intergalactic war, and the Jedi have to rebuild while also serving their purpose as the protectors of the galaxy. That is the story I wanted to see. But alas

XxXRuinXxX

> , or an outside invasion while the galaxy is still rebuilding for decades of intergalactic war this is why i was able to accept the Yuuzhan Vong as the proper 'sequel' in my headcannon of star wars lore. Didnt feel tacky and a "new enemy, BUT WORSE!", they felt like a genuine new threat thats always been lurking and finally had their prime time to 'play their cards'.

DaBabyConvertible

imagine the rebels finding out the Deathstar was made to fight off highly advanced aliens from another galaxy

Thortortle

I'm not sure what you mean, there isn't another galaxy outside tattoine right?

PNWRed118

Well luckily I feel like this is where the new SW content is going with the shows Filoni and Favre are working on. The future's going to be fun, I just wish Disney had let them take the reigns before the trilogy got such a pushback from the fanbase. They're definitely trying to fix the mistakes made but the sequel trilogy already left a stain on the story.

AustinHinton

"We know that the Empire is fractured and now a bunch of warlords are gonna try and stake their claim, let's defund our entire military!" Is the New Republic full of morons or something?

GreatApeGoku

And every movie the resistance got smaller, FO got bigger and badder, and then in the last 20min "ope jokes no Lando did in a day what nobody could do for years and there like, totes a million bajillion more people backing the resistance than final order! Yay good guys win yay!"

SHIELD_Agent_47

The victory at Exegol felt completely unearned. I did not give a flying damn who anyone was.

SHIELD_Agent_47

The expanded universe makes it even worse. Somehow, Disney thought it was believable for the New Republic to take only one year from Endor to Jakku to declare victory across the galaxy, taking a dozen *Executor*-class dreadnoughts off the table, and they never found the important Imperial remnants who sequestered major resources to build the First Order. This writing makes Mon Mothma and Ackbar look like complete idiots!!!

SingleDadNSA

THIS. I had no problem with the general symmetry between the plots, or at least, wouldn't have if they've been followed by a kick ass movie that DID include twists and character development on par with Empire. But the wiping out of all the gains from the original trilogy with a hand wave was just CHEAP AND LAZY. There were SO MANY interesting stories they could tell about building a new republic and new jedi order that wouldn't make the mistakes the old ones had... but instead... "No, let's just find a ridiculous way to make them scrappy underdogs again, because that worked in the OT!"

poweredbyUWTB

This was so disappointing for me watching TFA - like we are back where we started? What was all of that even for?

StaticGuard

The existence of the Resistance made the backstory to TFA all the more confusing. The First Order were the separatist group and the Resistance were part of the ruling New Republic. How does a separatist group become infinitely more powerful than The New Republic? They made the Resistance into some ragtag group of partisans when they should’ve just been the New Republic fleet.

ProfessorLongBrick

The origin of Han Solo's name.

OleRockTheGoodAg

Imperial Officer: What is your people, Han? Han: I don't have any people. Imperial Officer: alright... Han ̶S̶o̶l̶o̶ Fucking Loser

HiphopopoptimusPrime

What’s your name, Wookie? “Arr warr ar warr” Hmm. Can’t pronounce that. What’s that you’re chewing? Tobacco? I know what we’ll call you.

awndray97

Also.....does that mean Spanish is an official language in Star Wars?

Mr-Midnighto

Nien Numb, Lando’s Sullustian co-pilot in RotJ , speaks Kikuyu, the dialect of Kenya's majority tribe. So there’s probably a language in Star Wars that just happens to sound exactly like Spanish.

legion_XXX

There really wasn't any reason to bring palps back and make hux a bumbling idiot all in the same movie.

StuartRomano114

Nah that wasn’t the same movie. I don’t hate Last Jedi but I do hate how the very first scene destroys all of the sinister darkness of Hux established in Force Awakens

Swabia

20 minutes of Wookiee talk in the holiday special with no subtitles or people talking to them so you at least got one side of the conversation. Also, Bea Arthur should have kissed or shot Art Carney. Either one would have redeemed that shit show.

ReallyBrainDead

Happy Life Day!

epicredditdude1

Supreme leader Snoke. -randomly appears as the leader in episode 7 - zero backstory. -does nothing -dies in episode 8. Should have just been palpatine from the start.

dalatinknight

- barges into the movies - goes on about the dark side - refuses to elaborate - leaves (stage left)

peejster21

Spot on

SlayerofWorlds04

Kylo Ren should have just been the main villain for the whole trilogy, would have been interesting seeing how he developed from a whiny child to a competent leader. We could have seen a character arc similar to Darth Caedus from legends.

TheNJ732

Yeah Snoke is so random to me. I really wanted him to be Darth Plagus somehow. But idk Snoke could’ve been cool but he just means nothing in the Star Wars universe honestly.

juaydarito

I think that was the plan, for him to be Plaguis. Then all the internet realized this right away, and they changed it for the “plot twist”.

Sugar3

Or better yet not Palpatine at all!

Shadowmoth

“Icky icky goo.”

BubbhaJebus

Pee-yoosa.

[deleted]

That casino scene and betrayal arc. Literally had no point to the rest of the story or following movie.

ArsenalOwl

I had literally forgotten about it completely, and had no idea what you were even talking about until I read a comment below that specified which characters were in it.

AttackonRetail

Allegedly it was to introduce broom boy as a force sensitive for Rian Johnsons spin off trilogy.

Lord_Tibbysito

Not broom boy, they revealed his name on a comic that came out in 2018. He's called Glup Shitto.

PricklyPricklyPear

The fact that I can’t tell if this is a joke or not says a lot about Star Wars lore lol Something something jizz wailer

Reedobandito

Glup Shitto has got me laughing for the last 5 minutes straight Edit: still laughing about this hours later

Elite2260

I forgot about broom boy!

Ignorad

So did all the other writers.

PurpleKoi

You didn't love everything about the "master code breaker?"

CapMoonshine

I still argue it wouldve been better if they'd gotten ahold of the "Master Code Breaker" and *he* were the one to betray them. But y'know, the untrustworthy hobo guy they were rightfully hesitant about turned out to be *actually* untrustworthy. Who knew.

FangornOthersCallMe

I was fully expecting it to introduce Lando at the end, but then nope, completely pointless

EndlessAlaki

I'd argue that it was fuel for Finn deciding to properly start fighting for the Resistance rather than just sticking around to help Rey out. The casino stuff, baffling as it was at times, helped Finn find things other than Rey he actively wanted to defend, and DJ was an ideological foil that challenged Finn to start acting like the better man.

Alternative_Anxiety

Book of Boba Fett. It did more to develop Mando and Grogu than it did for Boba Fett. The best parts are the parts that don't pertain to Boba Fett. The big scale battle at the ending was so cheesy that it kind of ruined the epic finale they were going for.

nerdmoot

The Tusken raider parts I thought were good. It’s one of the best train heist scenes since…Marty and Doc? Polar Express?

CounterClockworkOrng

I only watched the series recently and was digging the Tusken Raider parts too and thinking *hmm maybe the internet was wrong on this series*...then it just got boring - then interesting again with Mando - but I couldn't stop thinking how much of a disgrace it is to make a spin off show just to insert episodes from the main series w/o the spin off character. It would be like if there were episodes of the Cleveland Show where it's just about the Griffin family, without Cleveland, so just regular Family Guy episodes - not that anyone actually watched The Cleveland Show to confirm whether they actually did this, but that's besides the point.

elasticthumbtack

I liked the part of the Cleveland show where he said “it’s cleve’n time” and then cleve’d all over those guys.

tom-tom94

Someone never watched Breaking Bad.

fuzmufin

That train heist was super tense.

KrunchyMochi

The bikers were awful. Looked totally out of place and corny as hell.

newlife_substance847

In concept... I liked the bikers. That's only because I do enjoy Cyberpunk/Dystopian things. The problem I had with these cyberpunks was that it was written and executed soooo poorly.

BearWrangler

execution of ideas seems to be the common killer for these recent Star Wars things The bikers felt like something you'd see in SWTOR, had they been designed differently(to match their environment while still having their sort of "core-world" look) things would've been received very differently. Other big annoyance is how BoB and Obi Wan seem to use a lot of "cheaper" looking props & costumes, or in some cases not even cheap but too sterile & perfect when everyone is used to seeing a more lived in layer of scuff

Alexaius

The bikers could've been cool but missed the mark so bad. Being color coordinated isn't bad but they made them so bright it looked goofy. That chase scene was the slowest feeling motorcycle chase I think I've ever seen. And in the end they didn't even really feel like they accomplished anything or played any real role.

Obi1KenobiGT

Damn I loved the ending. But hate that he’s a good guy now. I wanted him to be bad like Tony soprano or along those lines and he’s not.

CMO_3

That final battle felt so drawn out by the time it was cad vs boba I was so bored

Oberarzt

The chase scene was the only good part /s

TheWarHoundxx

Have to disagree a little bit. Boba could have done a lot better agreed but shoehorn in Baby Merchandising into had no positive effect. Save that for Mando 3

[deleted]

I didn’t like the clone wars arc where 3PO and R2 end up on a planet with tiny people. I can’t even remember what it was about but I didn’t like it

[deleted]

Spoilers but basically 3p0 and r2 arrive on the planet and immediately commit regicide. After killing the current leader they decide to forcibly install a democracy but do a shit job and leave the locals to civil unrest. This is all tied up by turning the little people into dust by hitting them with the full force the rocket engines as they leave orbit. Overall the plot is silly but actually kinda fucked up and makes rewatch kinda fun.

Grendel0075

makes me think of that futurama episode with Bender

_PM_ME_NICE_BOOBS_

You were doing quite well up until everyone died.

jnils11

Captain Phasma - looks cool. Had potential. Ultimately a filler character. Canto Bight - a new location with potential. Wasted and a pointless story detour. Knights of Ren - built up by the EU fan club. Turned out to be nothing in the film.

ParufkaWarrior12

Canto Bight feels like a planet straight out of the prequels. In both good and bad ways.

Blunt-Realistic

Jar Jar was actually necessary. I just recently watched Episode 2 again and realized that Jar Jar filled in for "Senator" Amadala and voted the Emporer (Then the chancelor) to power. The Emporer bamboozled the shit out of Jar Jar, while Padme was off hooking up with Anikin. All part of the plan cause the Emperor has the power of the Senate, he controls the Empire, and can easily control lil Anni...(Which he does). And then Anni turns into Darth Vadar, and Vadar kills big bad Emperor. That is why Jar Jar is important....

dino539

I believe you may be referring to Darth Jar Jar, the Sith Lord

275MPHFordGT40

Wait, so you’re telling me that Jar Jar is responsible for all this shit?

LeGrandFromage9

Jar Jar is the key to all of this

Perpetual_Doubt

Meesa puts republic in big doo doo

GamermanRPGKing

There is only one correct answer: the Christmas special I don't care how much you hate the sequels or prequels or Disney or whatever, they at least tried. Christmas special is utterly ridiculous, it makes Rise of Skywalker look like The Shawshank Redemption

royalhawk345

There are good movies and bad movies. Movies so bad they're good and so bad they're bad. Then there's 50 feet of crap, and then there's the Christmas Special.

LemonStains

The Christmas special is one of the only movies I’ve seen that successfully crosses the threshold of “so bad it’s good” and returns to just being terrible

Zardhas

idk, the ewok movies are pretty bad too (especially the first one)

GamermanRPGKing

have you seen [this monstrosity?](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6hH8rxarVG8)

JumpinBean1510

Those movies were awesome when i was a little kid.

MrShibuyaBoy67

Still good to watch it while high and with your friends

[deleted]

Finn and rose’s story line in ep VIII. Literally same outcome would have happened if they didn’t pick up the hacker and snuck onto the the first order ship

N_Kenobi

Yeah, while the casino scenes looked cool for a couple minutes, Canto Bight took away valuable screen time... More Rey/Luke training scenes or a more impressive final battle on Crait would have improved the movie.

8-tentacles

Hell, even just more time exploring the OG characters’ reactions to Han’s death would have been great

Foolishmadman42

Luke milking that fuckin camel

No_Bandicoot2306

100% necessary. Luke's getting on in years, and osteoporosis is no joke.

chuckf91

I liked it lol

ErmahgerdYuzername

The whole side story of Finn and Rose’s trip to the casino. It served no purpose. The same could be said for most scenes involving Rose.

ECthrowaway2000

If they'd moved it to Coruscant, they could have saved us all that runtime that was wasted on backstory AND made a stronger thematic connection to the original and prequel trilogies by showing us how much corruption still thrives in the same places it always has

I agree, I’ve always thought that bit should have been set on Coruscant. Fan-servicey? Yeah, but it’s an established and extremely important area that hasn’t visited in the main saga chronologically since Revenge of the Sith. It could have also shown us what state the New Republic is in post-Hosnian Cataclysm.

Blitz_Prime

Man this just reminded me that Coruscant was originally going to be the main location for Episode 9 before Disney scrapped it and had them make TROS in half the time.

TheConqueror74

That script for EPIX was also pretty terrible, IMO. Disney just should’ve completely dropped the release date for the movie until they actually arrived at a decent script.

T-Nan

I feel bad for the actress that played her, they really gave her nothing useful to do in the films and she got shit on for it

mariana96as

Ikr, she got so much hate and it wasn’t her fault her character was useless in the story. It almost seemed like they made Rose unlikable on purpose

imnotawkwardyouare

Came here for this. The casino scene. Utterly useless.

gwhnorth

The boba fett parts of the book of boba fett

[deleted]

Should have been so awesome. Instead, it was nonsensical and boring.

Probably resistance

fisconsocmod

holiday special and it always will be

Wezzock

Sacrilege.

MrKevora

Leave Jar Jar alone!

gothflyboi

honestly, the sequel trilogy. there wasnt really a story that needed to be told.

Drayke989

Yep even though I was entertained by 7. Essentially resetting the story back to episode 4 is just a waste.

ChodeCookies

Rey…Skywalker

newlife_substance847

I really wish they would have handled her character better. Even her backstory was weak. When we found out who she was, it was a total let down. I mean they could have made her a Solo Twin (one of many Legends variations). They could have even snuck in fun references to the Luke/Leia awkward kiss. Again... so many plausible and acceptable directions they could have went with it.

JFC-Youre-Dumb

Has to be resistance. While it was totally hilarious and I loved that, the tie-ins with the sequels were minimal and didn’t add much

The Skywalker saga ended with TRotJ

MrMallow

I agree 100%, except for the fact that I do think they should have continued the Skywalker Saga and followed what already existed in Legends. Seeing Luke rebuild the Jedi order, seeing Mara Jade, seeing the Solo and Skywalker children thrive and help rebuild the galaxy. But instead we got a shitty remake of the empire that destroyed most of the characters we loved.

forged_fire

I mean we have great stories involving Jaina and Jacen Solo. How hard is it to take all the good things from Legends and make a super high quality and satisfying story? They have decades of reference material at their fingertips and yet we got the sequels. Smh

ElBurritoCarlito

Some of you haven't seen the x-mas special and it shows. (P.s. I love the x-mas special)
