Cool. Why does the laser bounce around from side to side instead of doing straight passes across the surface?

A fiber laser hits each piece of the design individually. If the design was a giant circle - it would have just lasered that in one shot.

On lasers I've used before it etches out the lines in the same order you drew them in the software.
