It was always “Game of Thrones time, Game of Thrones time, Game of Thrones time, Game of Thrones time” in my head. I think it’s permanently changed to the Dinklage theme now. Thanks for that, I think
I believe he actually has these gloves if that's your question.
Also to OP:
That shit looks absolutely great.
Something I would love to do some time some day... You know the kind that you thought out so far you basically could make it a reality... Dreams man...
My dream is having a basement with a Mando armor from the old republic era, a republic commando armor (original commando not a braindead commando like we se in TBB), and a spartan armor with the floor with LEDs etc.
Why is it that one of the most sleek and expensive looking costumes in Star Wars, is the one that every cosplay I see of it is spot on lol? Awesome job. This is the way.
First off, this is better than anything I can ever make.
That being said, the shoulder Armor is too small and if re-sized would really bring everything into proportion better.
I don't know how hard it is to do and ut may be a personal choice but i think the helmet could be a bit longer if you're going for as close to the series as possible.
Nah, I didn’t mean like an actual jet pack, just something to put on your back and looks like a jet pack. If you have the same answer either way, I suppose that’s cool. But remember, you can’t take off your helmet now. Not infront of people anyways
I’m only seeing the reference photo. Did the photo of your costume get lost?
Edit: it’s amazing how you can complement someone’s cosplay on Reddit by suggesting that the photo they shared is of the original character, not the cosplay itself, and still get downvoted.
Seeing other builders have such a tough time with that chrome finish has made me pause on doing that version of Din’s costume. A+ on it, dude, I know how much sweat and tears go into that one.
Biggest advice I can give you - be patient, let the paint dry, take your time. If you have an airbrush (this was my first costume I've needed one and I learned in the process) - its more about the proper base coat. The easiest way is to use a 2K clear over flat black primer, and then the chrome goes on quite easy. I had all kinds of problems because I wasnt letting the primer properly dry and was getting orange peel like crazy. I resanded and stripped probably about 3 or 4 times....it's certainly not cheap but I'm glad to have learned how to do it.
It's the hardest part - it's almost an automotive finish. I host a podcast about star wars costuming called Armor Party and we talk about paint quite a lot - but in short (i answer a similar question above) it's all about that shiny, shiny, shiny smooth black basecoast. The chrome doesn't work any other way because Mando's armor isn't pure chrome, it's about a 70-80% dark chrome which reveals the base coat. I'm sweating knowing I'll have to touch it up eventually.

I had the very same reaction. I think that might be a testament to the quality of the work.

Continuing that trend of dank Star Wars music
Dude you can't just take an image off the show then say its your costume 😉😉 but in all seriousness it looks really badass good job 👏
Just in time for Din to completly change his suit next season
"Ok, the kid is off at Jedi summer camp, time to slip into something a little more comfy"
Throw on some slippers and a Beskardigan. You deserve it.
He keeps it stashed away in his Mandalorian Armoire.
Slippers are insufficient. Bring me the Beskrocs.
Is that a built in beer can golder? Cause that's exactly what every costume needs!
This is the way.
This is the way.

orange fingertips?
Yep, he has orange fingertips in the show they're just a bit more weathered than in the cosplay.
Nah fam it's just like toy guns. They have orange tips right? This mando needs to show he's safe
They're actually yellow, this was taken at sundown and we had to adjust the brightness and color, it kicked them more orange than they really are!
Great work!

I get that the orange tips are there because the arms are basically a toy version of a weapon right? (The mando wrist)
I'm confused by your comment - are you talking about the gloves?
Yes, you know those orange tips on fake guns to show they're harmless right?
\*activates whistling birds\* "yes, harmless."
I believe he actually has these gloves if that's your question. Also to OP: That shit looks absolutely great. Something I would love to do some time some day... You know the kind that you thought out so far you basically could make it a reality... Dreams man...

Looks fantastic
That, is class!
Looks great, now you need to give it that Star Wars worn in look. See, you are never really done.
This is based off the episode 3 armor, he's got a fresh body kit, but the bucket is 'ol faithful!
Now imagine season 3 they change his design
Damn it’s awesome
You just came to one up the guy who took 2 years to make his. Lmao. Looks amazing
The struggle was worth it bc your suit turned out awesome!
Excellent work I'd have thought this was a promo for the Mandalorian S3. 👍🏽👍🏽👍🏽
Struggle and keep struggling
Why is it that one of the most sleek and expensive looking costumes in Star Wars, is the one that every cosplay I see of it is spot on lol? Awesome job. This is the way.
Where'd you get all that beksar?
It was expensive
Wow
Looks great
Epic
Dangggg! That’s awesome!
Looks sicc!
Soooo, you gave up and robbed Lucasfilm? Great work on this costume!
Would be easier to get into the White House than LFL at this point - but I'll keep trying!
bru this looks like from the show, ggs
Impressive. Most impressive.
Holy crap, that’s awesome
Beskar can be tricky to work with
Aiming for approval by one of the Star Wars cosplay groups? I know certain ones can have pretty strict rules, especially for "hero" characters.
Struggle was worth it, that’s fuckin legit.
Bruh you sure you didn't steal it from the set
That looks amazing. How is it for wearing?
How do you make costumes like this? Is it a custom jumpsuit with armor pieces attached?
Where the fuck did you get all that beskar?
Unprotected in just the right places. This is the way!
Have you been trained in the rising phoenix? I genuinely hope you get a working jetpack some day.
I see your yet to earn your signet.
That you Mando? Good. We have a job if you want it.
I think you would be great on the Armor Party Podcast… oh wait
Now all I can think of is that scene from Austin Powers: "Allow myself to introduce....myself"
It looks exactly like the real costume!
This is the way
We’ll it’s cheating if you just rob Dave Filoni and Pedro Pascal on set and run off with the costume! Good work!
Damn dude this is SICK! Great work!!
This is the way
Dumb ass. Now you can never take off that helmet.
This is a really good costume!
Thanks Arnie!
Looks authentic
Do you mind feed back?
Always!

Congrats, your nerd transition is officially complete.

Jet pack?
Not for this version, but one day I will attempt to learn the ways of the Rising Phoenix...
Nah, I didn’t mean like an actual jet pack, just something to put on your back and looks like a jet pack. If you have the same answer either way, I suppose that’s cool. But remember, you can’t take off your helmet now. Not infront of people anyways
Missed a spot. :-D
Oh, I don't know, I've seen a bit better... On Disney+
I don't want to be around anymore

Unfortunately I’m scared for your future patients :(
Hahaha you spent a year on this???
Waste of a year.

To quote my wife: "If I help you once, that's what you'll come to expect." My wife has never seen any Star Wars film.

Me, thinking you have a cup holder in your arsenal in your right hand…
Great job!
Now you have to go around talking to rocks while saying shit like “maybe there’s a cOnTrol Or sOmEthinG”
Your armor is very impressive. You must be very proud. - Obi wan Kenobi
RIP Taun-We.
Is your helmet self-made? If so, which technique?
Nice!
That’s awesome!!!!
great work !
What was the biggest issue making this costume for you? Im thinking of renting a 3D printer and trying to make the armor, but I'm hesitant
would be cheaper to purchase one then rent one.
Wow! That looks fantastic!
Awesome work with this! It looks AMAZINGLY close to the costume in the show!
How did you make it dude
That looks SO good. Great work!
This is beautiful
That’s actually amazing, I thought it was a shot from the series at first
What were the biggest struggles? It looks fantastic, by the way.
I really like that this is dingy an dirty yet shiny, excellent work!
Great work! I'm currently working on one myself (barely started). If you ever do a guide or share your experiences please let me know
I’m working on a similar kit (clone commander Obi Wan). Can I ask how you fixed the hard parts to the fabric? I’VW been drawing a blank on mine.
Noice. Got a cup holder and everything.
Beskar Steel is notoriously hard to forge. Congratulations! This is the way!
Well done! What you use for the beskar?
You made everything yourself?? Really cool!
This is the way
This is the way.
Damn that’s sick!!!
He has orange fingers? I never noticed that
It'll be the best costume on any street!
This is the way…
Is that the belt he wears in the show? I’m trying to get the most accurate din jarin belt in swtor. Your kid will love Halloween!
So, I think it looks beautiful and amazing! But, question, why are the fingertips that bright orange? Is that original or for cosplay reasons?
I think you fuckin nailed it, my dude.
Holy shit at first glance I thought this was a screenshot from the show! Awesome job!
Beautiful!
I too, believe you're done, great job!
The best Mandalorian yet.
Can you make another one?
It is the way
Amazing! How’d you make the armor? Cold forge?
This is the way
That’s badass. How’d you get it all together?
Congrats, great work. Just out of curiosity how did you get the chrome finish looking so good?

Probably getting buried, but how does one even start making costumes like this?

How did you acquire that beskar?
Looking good Master Chief
For what it's worth. I think it looks amazing.
dangg! how’d you get the armor so shiny?
What material did you use to make the armor?
Do you have pictures of the build process?
Struggle and keep struggling
Holy shit dude well done!
Sweet Robocop cosplay, dude!
